Jesus offers an open invitation for everyone to come and worship him and experience a genuinely transformed life. But sometimes we get in the way others accepting that invitation. Whether intentional or not, our actions, words and attitudes can become a roadblock to others experiencing a life-changing encounter with Jesus. But Jesus doesn't let us leave those roadblocks in place. He calls us to remove the roadblocks so that anyone who wants to can come to him and have new life.

This is one of our most extended and complex episodes to date–and for good reason. We have Rebelle Rally founder, Emily Miller, on the podcast for the first time and she has volumes of information to share about navigation, the Rebelle Rally, and driving skills, along with crazy stories about her experiences designing the Rebelle course with the likes of off-road motorcycling legend, Jimmy Lewis. An expert in navigation, Emily provides our listeners with insight and knowledge gained through study and hard-earned experience in various forms of navigation, from traditional paper-and-compass methods to state-of-the-art GPS. Join the conversation, as Emily explains her holistic philosophy when it comes to navigation and teaches proven, race-winning strategies for reading terrain and using primitive and modern navigation tools to find one's way across remote landscapes efficiently and effectively. In this special episode, we also learn all about the Rebelle Rally: Where is it held? Who can participate? What vehicles are allowed to enter the rally? Emily answers these questions and more about the first and only navigation-based rally to be held within the U.S.Emily also explains the top-secret, “classified” nature of planning the Rebelle Rally and how this has put her and her colleagues into some extreme behind-the-scenes situations. Listen in as she shares some of her best stories, including camping at the epicenter of an earthquake that registered a 7.2 on the Richter scale!

The idea and theology of sin is uncomfortable and easier to ignore or downplay. Most would rather label themselves "mistakers" versus "sinners". However Jesus always used the word sin and in fact, raised the bar. Knowing what it would cost to pay the price of sin, Jesus teaches a provocative message to be extreme in our handling of sin.

From farmer's fields to the high arctic, from your morning cup of coffee to a glass of wine – everything we eat and drink depends on water. In the second episode of our summer mini season, we draw from our past interviews about water scarcity and its effect on our food supply. We take a look at last year's drought and withered crops on the Canadian prairies, and how melting permafrost in the arctic threatens traditional knowledge about food from the land for the Inuit of Iqaluit. We hear how coffee farmers in Sierra Leone are cultivating the climate-resilient "Stenophylla" species to bring it to market, and how crops like coffee beans and wine grapes are sensitive indicators of climate change -- and changes coming to these industries. We'd like to hear your thoughts about our show in our What About Water Listener Survey. As a thank you, we will plant a tree through One Tree Planted for each survey our podcast listeners complete.

One of my favorite Billy Joel songs is titled, “I Go to Extremes.” I'll admit, I'm a big Billy Joel fan, and whenever a song by him is playing, you can bet I'll be singing. But, the lyrics for “I Go To Extremes” are actually counter-productive to your personal growth! Guest: Dr. Kathryn SullivanIntroduction:“To boldly go where no man has gone before” has a great ring to it and it started many a Star Trek episode and movie, but breaking the glass ceiling to boldly go where no woman has gone before can describe our guest today who was: the 1st woman to walk in space, the 1st woman to go to deepest point in space, and the 1st woman to dive to the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the Earth's oceans. These are just a few of her many accomplishments. Today we'll talk about breaking barriers and the amazing career of Dr. Kathryn Sullivan.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
One of my favorite Billy Joel songs is titled, “I Go to Extremes.” I’ll admit, I’m a big Billy Joel fan, and whenever a song by him is playing, you can bet I’ll be singing. But, the lyrics for “I Go To Extremes” are actually counter-productive to your personal growth! Darling I don't know why I got to extremes Too high or too low there ain't no in-betweens And if I stand or I fall It's all or nothing at all Darling I don't know why I got to extremes Managing your life in the middle of the extremes isn’t easy, but achieving a balance is necessary for your personal and professional growth. In psychotherapeutic terms, emotional highs and lows could signify an imbalance and should be treated. If you’ve developed a habit of going to extremes, whether it is going overboard in business, romance or even punishments – it is a good idea to take stock in how extreme you might be. For example, if you are trying to build a business and believe that you must be attached to your phone or email 7 days a week, that could be considered extreme. Or, in romance and relationships – if you believe they should meet all your needs and know exactly what you want; it is time to let that extreme go. Take a break and let go of going to extremes! Kelly Orchard's Apple A Day is available in print! Four in the series, with an accompanying journal page to track your thoughts and success! https://kellyorchard.com/apple-a-day-books/
Join Katie and I (Christina here) as we reconnect after an election break. We always discuss heavy topics involving inequality in the US in our own fashion with passion and humor. We have a ton to talk about so we dive right into the 2020 election, voter suppression being alive and well and the fatigue that can bring on at the moment. With the election, BLM and COVID 19 still looming it's getting everybody down and it can all be overwhelming. It's okay to not know everything but it's never okay to stop growing into a better human.
As we navigate this "new normal" which includes pandemics, economic uncertainty, political thrash and just plain 2020 chaos, Tracey & Allyn discuss what it means to shift from going to extremes in our work to finding balance. The RM space has been a magnet for big ideas, big change and big projects. What does it look like to focus on "good enough" and still feel successful.

As medical technology continues to extend life spans, very little thought is given to the quality of those added years, or to what someone who is severely infirm but not terminally ill might need to feel fulfilled. In the February issue, Ann Neumann delves into the phenomenon of “mercy killings,” in which a man ends his spouse's life once an illness has compromised her quality of life, and attempts suicide afterward. Not far from the house she grew up in, Neumann discovered the story of Philip and Becky Benight, two aging people in love who, after pushing against a system of care that disempowered them, decided to end their lives together. Their story is not unique; there are hundreds of so-called mercy killings each year in the United States, but our health care and legal systems have yet to catch up to the needs of the aging. In this audio essay, Philip Benight talks to Neumann and Violet Lucca, web editor of Harper's Magazine, about his singular bond to Becky, the various institutions that sought to help but only hurt them, and the legal fallout of their actions. Read Neumann's story here: https://harpers.org/archive/2019/02/going-to-extremes-elderly-assisted-suicide-caregivers/

The Net Promoter System Podcast – Customer Experience Insights from Loyalty Leaders
When faced with a scrappy challenger, it's not hard for established brands to lose sight of their core customers, especially if they're in a highly competitive market. These situations usually arise when an established brand starts to lose market share to a buzzworthy upstart. When that happens, a company's leaders might debate whether they should change course to chase a new competitor or try to reconnect with the brand's base. Sarah Robb O'Hagan, CEO of the indoor cycling company Flywheel Sports, knows this scenario well. More than five years ago, she helped turn around PepsiCo's multibillion-dollar Gatorade brand when she was president of the sports drink's division. She went on to serve as president of the high-end gym operator Equinox before taking the helm at Flywheel Sports. Sarah, who's also the author of Extreme You: Step Up, Stand Out, Kick Ass. Repeat, shares her experiences in this episode, including her views on what it takes to connect with customers.
