This week, Simi Botic—author, founder of Unmeasured, and my best friend—joins me to talk about PIVOT, a new zine of essays I compiled. After breaking my leg this summer, being stuck inside gave me time to put this together. Simi was the first person I sent it to, partly because she's a character in it and wrote one of the essays with me, and because she's always so gentle and supportive. I don't know how I got so lucky to have her as a friend but I did.In this, we talked about seeing each other through different phases. And about the uncomfortable feelings that come from revisiting our old work but try to do as Didion advises, "stay on nodding terms" with our past selves. PIVOT is one big nod to my 20's, including all the lessons I learned and the experiences that taught me them. Simi Botic is a Health Coach/Entuitive Eating Counselor and Owner of her brand 'Unmeasured'. This one's such a fun episode as I sit and chat with the wonderful Simi Botic. We uncover the creation of her movement brand + barre class 'Unmeasured', and more so how it all spawned from dealing with her own body image + eating issues and not feeling truly worthy of a healthy life. We talk a lot about self-doubt and inner voices, and how to talk to those inner voices but let them control us. We dig into a lot of mental health talk, trying to not focus on the bad even when things are good, intrusive thoughts and not letting them win, learning better self-compassion, being hyper-self-aware humans and what that can do to us, how to do things right now to better help your future self, why goals don't have to be "all or nothing", putting yourself and your creations out there and not worrying about opinions, why she loves her "barre" classes, what exactly Unmeasured is, where she wants it to grow and help more people with their health + body battles, and tons more! We really cover a lot of honest talk regarding mental well being in this one and I loved what we dove into. In celebration of the year ending, we are reviewing our top five most listened podcast episodes of 2022. Our second most popular episode of the year was How Intuitive Eating Can Help You Gain Confidence in a World Surrounded by Diet Culture with Simi Botic.   Diet culture is that collection of social expectations that dictates our self-worth with the way our body looks. In doing so it tells us what to do, what to eat, and how to look in order to feel worthy, accepted, and validated. All in all, diet culture sucks but unfortunately a lot of women are stuck in this cycle of hating their bodies and practicing restrictive eating patterns because they think it's something they need to do.    In today's episode we are talking to our good friend Simi Botic an intuitive eating counselor, and health coach who has literally helped hundreds of women break up with diet culture   During our conversation, Simi talks about making the transition from being a corporate healthcare attorney and struggling with disordered eating patterns. She shares why confidence means trust, why she tries to be a model of confidence and compassion for her clients, and why diet culture is rooted in a lot of systemic oppression.   In this episode, we cover: Simi shares more about her own experience with restrictive eating and her own work Tapping into your confidence to combat diet culture through trust and self-compassion Quick fixes don't work: why confidence comes from the inside Misleading messages that damage women's confidence How motherhood has changed the way Simi views confidence The legacy Simi hopes to leave     Connect with Simi: IG: https://www.instagram.com/simibotic/ Website: https://movementunmeasured.com/   Connect with Whitney & Stephanie: Stephanie IG: @stephanie_hanna_  The Other 85: https://theother85.net/  Whitney IG: @whitneyabraham  Whitney Website: https://www.whitneyabraham.com/

We invest in our bank accounts, our retirement plans, our houses, our careers...but often, we forget (or don't know how) to invest in our most important relationships. Strong, life-long relationships with ourselves, partners, family, friends and community require regular investment. Those big and small increments of investment compound over time. When you make the time, you ultimately see the return. The richest relationships. The most meaningful moments shared. The hardest times endured. The best of times fully experienced. How do you make that investment? Do you carve out time each day and each year to intentionally invest in the relationships that matter most? How do you do it? In this episode, we reflect on our most recent conversation with Simi Botic and Tim Simeone and all their wisdom around investment. We also share how we build a life together through our investment in our own relationship. We share our stories, our practices and our reflections. We talk about how Strategic Planning for Life has been our foundational framework for yielding the most profound return for that investment. Our intention is to start a conversation that ideally ignites unlocks in your own relationships. Relationships can be challenging. In moments of clarity, you can feel deep love and connection. But in the tough times, it's easy to judge, blame, get frustrated and sink into disconnection. Those tough times are defining moments.  We either lean into the adversity with the INTENTION to create clarity and connection. OR we choose to walk away, further enhancing the feelings of disconnection, frustration and frankly, pain. In this inspiring, fun and honest episode, we sit down with fellow intentional lifestyle designers, Simi Botic and Tim Simeone, to have a real talk about choosing to lean into any adversity and ultimately nurture the relationship.  We explore how that one choice massively transforms our partnerships. We have more love and connection. We honor each other's growth. We lovingly hold ourselves and each other accountable for our pitfalls. And most importantly, we have more fun on the journey. Simi and Tim share openly about the tough moment that helped them to align as people, get on the same team and start speaking the same language. That one moment led to building a strong foundation that still holds their relationship, their family and their lives stable today. As their lives evolve, they come back to that foundation - their love, their connectedness to fun, their shared values and their vision for life - to keep choosing each other, the relationship and life they desire.  This is a beautiful and powerful conversation. It is sure to unlock insights into your own relationships while making you smile and laugh along the way. MORE ABOUT SIMI BOTIC & TIM SIMEONEFrom our perspective, Simi & Tim are some of the most genuine, loving, fun souls you could ever meet. They carry themselves and their family with such joy and intentionality.  On the surface, they are thriving partners, parents, creators, entrepreneurs, professionals, friends and family members. But immediately, you can tell they go much deeper than the surface. They are life explorers dedicated to: loving as deeply as possible; learning and evolving individually and together; creating environments and experiences that spark fun and joy in all; and most importantly, doing their absolute best to show up as their best selves in the moment, no matter the circumstances.  They are the parents of two adorable, vibrant little ones. They're always investing in their family and friends. And they're thriving in their careers, both putting people and experience first in their unique fields. They're an inspiring duo, and we highly recommend you connect with them to feel the good vibes they're putting out into the world.  CONNECT WITH SIMI & TIMhttps://www.instagram.com/simibotic/https://www.linkedin.com/in/botic-simi/https://www.instagram.com/timsimeone/https://www.linkedin.com/in/tim-simeone/https://simibotic.com/https://movementunmeasured.com/FIND OUT MORE ABOUT OWL & KEYwww.owlandkey.cowww.owlandkey.co/courselinktr.ee/owlandkeywww.instagram.com/owl_and_key/GET STARTED TODAY!Get Started with Strategic Planning for Life todayBook your FREE call to learn more!

As empaths themselves, Olga and Simi Botic talk in this episode about what it is like to feel all feelings and in such an exaggerated way. Being an empath can sometimes feel like a curse: we feel too much, we care too much, we don’t seem to be able to disconnect frequently enough, and we tend to ignore our beautiful selves all too often. How can I possibly feel less? This is a question many of Olga’s empath clients ask her. Even Olga asked herself the same question for years until she learned the gift hidden all along, waiting to be turned into a superpower.  In this episode, you will learn: What an empath is How to practice deep self-care if you are an empath. Feeling like a problem to be solved and the areas that that manifested most heavily, as you might imagine, was in her relationship with food, with her body, and fitness. In this episode we have a candid catch up about change during a year of uncertainty and how the pandemic has impacted us. We get into how the last several months have been, podcasting, creativity, and change. Emily is an amazing host and I loved seeing where she took the conversation. She is an alum of our podcast kit and just launched her show Back to You this week. I also give a few favorites in the intro.Show notes:- The Podcast Kit- Emily's Podcast Back To You- Katie on the Indecisively Decisive Podcast- Simi Botic- Josh Radnor- Spiraling with Katie Dalebout & Serena Wolf If you liked this episode try out:Episode 261 with Simi Botic on Friendship as Adults, 90s Bonding, Clueless, & More Favorites:- Brooke and Mike's course- Simi's Unmeasured Membership- Kosas Lipstick in Stardust- Nalgene Water Bottle new to *let it out* --> start with these linkskatie's site: https://katiedalebout.com/our start here guide: https://letitouttt.com/general/start-here/++ LET IT OUT letter katie's bookLET IT OUT kits

In this episode I talk to Simi Botic, health coach and Author of Letting Go of Leo: How I Broke Up with Perfection. We talk about Simi's relationship with perfectionism and how that bled into her relationship with food and her body. What I love so much about this episode is that we talk so much about what breaking up with perfection (especially around food) can do for your whole life, not just how you feel about your food and your body. Simi talks about how she ultimately changed her whole career trajectory and how we both felt like we were both able to be present for the highs and the lows without the burden of food worry. In the episode we talk about: How Simi's relationship with food and her body had evolved Simi's transition from lawyer to health coach Perfectionism and it's downfall Our experiences of losing our dads Grief and how intuitive eating has helped us through this process Resources: Jessi's Newsletter The Nutrition & Body Image Coaching Course Simi's Website Letting Go of Leo
