The whole gang is back! Alex, Brad, Morgan and Adam discuss a pretty terrible week at NUFC - an unwatchable loss to Chelsea, the very quick hope and quicker denial of Unai Emery, and the prospect of going to AmEx without a new manager. Is there any hope for this side to stay up? What changes should Graeme Jones make at the weekend? Finally we are delighted to be joined by Paul from Stateside Seagulls. Paul joins the pod for his second time and gives us the rundown of all things Brighton. You can follow them on Insta and Twitter - @BHAFCStateside!
Alex, Brad, and Morgan are here to talk about Steve Bruce leaving Newcastle United, Graeme Jones in the interim, and the search for a new manager! What characteristics do we want in a new gaffer? What has Graeme Jones changed in the team, and what should he do on Saturday? Would relegation be the worst thing ever? Oh, and Jurgen Klopp is being a whiny baby about the takeover and Alex felt the need to address that. Also, can we get a point against the juggernaut Blues?

The football fixtures just kept flying in and with it came some sobering results. Newcastle pulled the wool over Everton's eyes, as Bruce stood in the shadows of his new assistant Graeme Jones. 2-0 the scoreline to the magpies and a much-needed victory breaking their torrid five-game losing streak. Man City overcame an inspired Sheffield Utd with 1 goal proving to be the difference and kept their winning run going on top of the table. Arsenal and Manchester United didn't give us much to shout about. The gunners would have been the happier of the two sides though, as a point gained for Arteta was two lost for Ole. Cavani squandering a couple of chances may be costly in their hunt for the title. The confident Hammers welcomed an arguably "second string" Liverpool side to the Olympic stadium. However, Moyes saw his side turn in an average performance which resulted in Salah taking for advantage. His two goals helped Liverpool to a 3-1 victory and see him leading the golden boot race with 15 goals to his name. Kev, James, Tony and Simon return for another lockdown episode of the Luton Town Supporters’ Trust podcast. To fend off some of the boredom that lockdown is providing, the boys get together from their own homes to chat about the big news of the departure of Graeme Jones last month, whether it was a football or financial based dismissal, and a potential return for his predecessor Nathan Jones. The episode concludes with the lads recapping the two wonderful days to finish the last two promotion campaigns on what is a decent week in the history of Luton Town in recent years.

It. On!
On January 10th 2019, a legend was asked to step into the managerial breach after the shock departure of the former manager. It was initially thought that, moving from his role as head of recruitment, Mick Harford would be an interim appointment. On January 26th the former star striker, coach and manager led Luton Town to the top of League One and, as records tumbled, there they stayed until the final day of the season in May when Harford guided the Hatters to the league title. The "proudest moment" of his career. For him it was redemption after he was at the helm ten years ago when, burdened by a never matched points penalty by the game's governing body, Town slipped out of the Football League for the first time in 89 years. No-one blamed Harford but the pain of those dark days stayed with him, only relieved when he lifted silverware above his head at a packed Kenilworth Road. He'd heard his name sung there on many occasions, but the reception he got that day still gives him shivers down his spine. Kevin and Tony met up with Mick a few weeks after that memorable weekend to get his thoughts on one of the best campaigns in Hatters history. He talks about: how taking charge was an offer he couldn’t turn down his first game in charge, taking Town to his boyhood team Sunderland and claiming a memorable draw on a “special, special day” complete with applause from two sets of fans. how he realised Luton could get promoted after a last-gasp 3-2 winner at home to Portsmouth Luton making history by going 28 games unbeaten where the team of 2018/19 ranks in his 35 years at Kenilworth Road the elation of the final day the promotion celebrations including going to the Bricklayer’s Arms and Painter’s Arms in High Town with CEO Gary Sweet and board member Paul Balantyne the impression that new Luton manager Graeme Jones has made on him and how he think he’ll do in the hotseat as Town return to the Championship after 12 years away. his return to his recruitment process and what that means this summer
See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
