In this episode of The Sunday Roast, the team welcomes Shaun Day, Managing Director of Greatland Gold, to discuss the company's recent strategic developments, including the surrender of over 497 million share options by directors and senior employees. This move aligns with Greatland's upcoming dual listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the establishment of a new Australian-incorporated parent company, Greatland Resources Limited. The surrender aims to reduce potential shareholder dilution and adhere to ASX corporate governance principles . Additionally, Joe Belladonna, CEO of Harena Resources, joins to provide insights into their 75%-owned Ampasindava rare earths project in Madagascar. The project boasts a JORC-compliant resource estimate of 698.5 million tonnes and has demonstrated high recovery rates for critical magnet metals like neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium through environmentally friendly heap leach processes . The discussion also covers the broader implications of China's export controls on rare earth elements, the week's major news stories including Trump's tariffs and the passing of Pope Benedict, and a roundup of market movers and shakers. Greatland Gold PLC managing director Shaun Day talked with Proactive about the company's updated ore reserve for the Telfer gold-copper mine and its forward-looking development strategy. Day outlined the release of a 712,000-ounce gold and 23,000-tonne copper ore reserve for Telfer, achieved just five months post-acquisition. This comes on the heels of a 3.2 million ounce resource estimate, collectively taking the total resource base, including Havieron, beyond 10.0 million ounces. “This is really built on the back of Michael Thompson and his team,” Day said, noting the speed and scale of the update. He emphasized that the reserve confirms continuity at Telfer as Havieron ramps up, avoiding any production gap. Day also discussed the two-year dual-train production outlook through FY27 and emphasized the production and cost benefits expected once Havieron, a significantly higher-grade and lower-cost asset, is integrated. An updated feasibility study aims to expand Havieron from 2.8 to 4–4.5 million tonnes per annum, potentially via conveyor infrastructure to enhance economics and ESG performance. Looking ahead, Day pointed to opportunities to extend mine life, increase drilling, and develop the West Dome Underground. “The team is really humming right now,” he said. Greatland Gold PLC (AIM:GGP, OTC:GRLGF) CEO Shaun Day talked with Proactive about the company's performance during the March quarter and its strategic progress with the Telfer asset. Day said the company generated A$253.00 million in free cash flow, lifting the total bank balance to A$398.00 million and maintaining a debt-free position. “I think that's just a remarkable outcome after four months of ownership,” Day stated. Production for the quarter exceeded 90,000oz of gold equivalent, surpassing internal and market expectations. Costs also came in lower than forecast, with an all-in sustaining cost around A$2,100 per ounce. The company is investing heavily in revitalising Telfer, tripling the number of drill rigs to six and initiating the Stage 7 cutback at West Dome. Underground, high-grade intercepts at West Dome and a newly commissioned second decline highlight Greatland's focus on long-term growth. Day also discussed the company's guidance for the seven months to June 2025, forecasting between 196,000oz and 210,000oz at an all-in sustaining cost of A$2,100–A$2,250 per ounce. He emphasised the margin potential at current gold prices exceeding A$5,000 per ounce. In addition, the company has formally commenced its ASX listing process, with dual listings in London and Australia expected by late June. Day highlighted that more than 55% of these resources fall under the measured and indicated category, allowing for future conversion to reserves. The company has also added 3.2 million ounces of gold and 117,000 tonnes of copper at the Telfer mine, strengthening its position in the market. Greatland Gold PLC CEO Shaun Day talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest exploration update at the West Dome underground project. This marks the first-ever drilling campaign into this section of the Telfer gold-copper operation, yielding positive initial results. Day highlighted that the underground beneath the Main Dome at Telfer has been operating for nearly two decades, producing over 3.0 million ounces of gold. The newly drilled West Dome underground area has shown high-grade intercepts, with some reaching over 19 grams per tonne gold equivalent. He emphasised the importance of this discovery, as it provides potential for extending the mine life at Telfer while leveraging existing infrastructure for efficient ore processing. The company has planned a follow-up drilling campaign to further assess the deposit and move toward a JORC resource estimate. Additionally, mine planning and geotechnical studies will support future development. Greatland Gold also has a substantial stockpile, including 500,000 ounces of gold and 20,000 tonnes of copper, reinforcing its resource base. Day noted that their approach mirrors past successful strategies in extending mine life through reinvestment in drilling. For more updates, visit Proactive's YouTube channel. Coffee with Samso Episode 200 is a David and Goliath story that could be a second chance for those investors who felt they missed out on past opportunities. The Greatland Gold Plc (AIM: GGP) is the classic case of the need to understand the content of management and the technical aspects of a mineral resource project. Like all investment partitioners, their main challenge is hearing fellow participants overlook the essential elements of comprehending and applying the principles of First Principal's business. I have been in the industry since 1992, and over the past three decades, I've learnt that understanding the sector requires insights from a geologist's perspective, an investor's viewpoint, and those who influence the markets, such as stakeholders (brokers, major investors, and vendors of the company and projects). It's crucial to gather wisdom from experienced individuals and recognise that no two operations, projects, mineral orebodies, or extraction methods are identical. This is evident in the many success stories that have emerged from so-called "unloved" and "impossible" projects that seemed doomed from the start. The list of companies that have been created from these unloved "investment concepts" or the "too Small for Majors" are clearly exemplified recently by the following list below; Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX: NST), Spartan Resources Limited (ASX: SPR), Genesis Minerals Limited (ASX: GMD), Westgold Resources Limited (ASX: WGX), Gold Road Resources Limited (ASX: GOR), There are numerous others to include on that list, and the surprising fact is that ASX retail investors are slow to invest in these stocks. The issue for these investors is that by the time these stocks gain attention, the capital appreciation for their type of portfolio has decreased, leaving opportunities to institutions and more "sophisticated" investors seeking consistent income generation. Why do I still see Greatland Gold Plc as a viable Proposition for the Retail Investor? Firstly, they are largely unknown to the sector. Currently, they have an AUD $2B market capitalisation hidden on the London Stock Exchange AIM Market platform. If you click on that link, you will see the unimpressive on the London Stock Exchange. What is an AUD billion dollar company hidden in this nature? The answer to that question is one of the first points I make in the Coffee with Samso with Shaun Day, the Managing Director of Greatland Gold. The company is an overnight success that has taken a decade of hard work and sweaty rattling of the tin to keep the doors from shutting. This episode of Coffee with Samso is a perfect companion to our first story on Greatland Gold we published on July 2, 2022, entitled "The Havieron Gold - Copper Discovery in Patterson Range, Western Australia". That was now almost 3 years ago, and today, they are a fully fledged miner with the words "Undervalued- Underrated" written all over the story. For those who felt that they have not caught a good investment in a raging bull gold market that seems to have no short-term end, especially in Australian dollars. This will have to be a must-see Coffee with Samso before you begin your process of DYOR. I cannot emphasise the need to spend good quality time to DYOR for Greatland Gold, which is still not listed on the ASX. That will come in June, so better get your knee pads from Bunnings and start resorting to begging, as I am 100 percent sure there will be limited shares available to the common man when their IPO comes around. Shaun has over 25 years of experience in executive and commercial roles across mining, infrastructure and investment banking. Prior to joining the Company, Shaun was Chief Financial Officer of Northern Star Resources Limited, an ASX100 company and a global-scale Australian gold producer. Prior to this, Shaun was Chief Financial Officer of SGX-listed Sakari Resources Plc, which operated multiple mines ahead of its takeover. Shaun is a Non-executive Chairman of Blue Ocean Monitoring Limited and a member of the Senate of the University of Western Australia. About Greatland Gold Greatland's operating asset is its 100%-owned Telfer gold-copper mine, one of Australia's largest gold-copper mining complexes with significant established processing and infrastructure. Greatland's development asset is its 100% owned Havieron development project, a high-grade gold-copper deposit located 45km west of Telfer that will utilise the Telfer infrastructure to process Havieron ore. In addition to Telfer and Havieron, Greatland holds interests in a significant exploration portfolio, the focus of which is the relatively underexplored surrounding Paterson Province. Ownership of the Telfer infrastructure greatly enhances the potential value of exploration success in Greatland's Paterson exploration portfolio. Strategy of Greatland Gold Greatland aspires to become a profitable multi-mine resources company by focusing on the responsible and sustainable discovery, development, extraction, processing and sale of precious and base metals. Greatland's strategy to achieve this growth is built on four horizons: Profitable operation of the Telfer gold-copper mine and pursuit of Telfer mine life extension; Continued advancement of the world-class Havieron gold-copper project through to production; Exploration to identify new precious and base metals deposits, with a focus on the Paterson Province surrounding Telfer; and Disciplined assessment and, where compelling, pursuit of new investment and acquisition opportunities in the resources sector. Greatland has assembled a highly experienced team that is committed to delivering our growth strategy. The senior team is supported by a Board with extensive expertise and experience in the global resources sector. Greatland's leadership team has a track record of success and value creation for shareholders.

Greatland Gold Managing Director Shaun Day joined Steve Darling from Proactive to unveil the company's latest acquisition in Western Australia. Greatland Gold has successfully identified and acquired the Mount Egerton tenement, driven by extensive tectonic structural reviews conducted by its exploration team. Situated in the northern region of Western Australia, adjacent to the Patterson and Yukon areas, Mount Egerton exhibits promising potential for gold and copper deposits. Leveraging their advanced understanding of geophysics and tectonics, Greatland Gold secured the tenement at minimal cost, covering only the application fee. Mount Egerton represents a largely unexplored territory for gold, presenting a distinctive opportunity for Greatland Gold to uncover untapped mineral resources. The company intends to accelerate the exploration process by leveraging existing indigenous land use agreements, facilitating swift and efficient exploration activities. Initial exploration efforts at Mount Egerton will involve desktop reviews and ground sampling, leveraging cost-effective and efficient methodologies. This strategic move aligns seamlessly with Greatland Gold's overarching strategy to actively pursue exploration opportunities and unlock high-value prospects. Day emphasized the strategic significance of the Mount Egerton acquisition, strategically located south of the company's existing operations in the Patterson area and Panorama tenements. This expansion reinforces Greatland Gold's steadfast focus on the Pilbara crater region and underscores its commitment to enhancing its exploration portfolio with promising opportunities. #proactiveinvestors #greatlandgoldplc #ain #ggp #mining #ShaunDay, #MountEgerton, #WesternAustralia, #GoldExploration, #CopperExploration, #MiningNews, #ExplorationPortfolio, #Geophysics, #TectonicReview, #PattersonRegion, #YukonRegion, #IndigenousAgreements, #GroundSampling, #MiningAcquisition, #ExplorationStrategy, #PilbaraCrater, #HighValueProspects, #ResourceDiscovery, #MiningInvestment #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

Greatland Gold PLC managing director Shaun Day described the March quarter as highly successful for its Havieron gold project, marked by significant achievements and a solid partnership with Newmont. This quarter was the first full period since Newmont took over operations in late December. In an interview with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion, Day highlighted the effective water management strategies for the lower-contained aquifer, which revealed lower flow rates than expected, easing management efforts. This has been made possible by additional drilling, enhancing the company's understanding of water flows and geological formations, which could shorten the path to the oil body. Day also praised the working relationship with Newmont's Australian team, attributing much of the quarter's success to this collaboration. He noted the benefits of working with a global major, such as proactive resource ordering, which has kept operations ahead of schedule. Regarding future plans, Day addressed Newmont's intention to divest its 70% joint venture interest in Havieron, viewing it as a potential opportunity for Greatland Gold. Despite the possibility of Newmont's exit, Day expressed confidence in Greatland Gold's capacity to manage and develop its assets, suggesting a strong future for the company and its shareholders. #GreatlandGold #ShaunDay #Mining #GoldMining #Newmont #WaterManagement #Geology #MineralExploration #ResourceManagement #CorporateStrategy #InvestmentOpportunity #MiningIndustry #QuarterlyUpdate #ManagementSuccess #StrategicPartnership #BusinessDevelopment #IndustryLeaders #GlobalMining #StakeholderEngagement #CorporateNews #ProactiveInvestors #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

This area, known as the Eastern Goldfields, is largely unexplored and associated with significant global gold finds. The additional tenements consolidate the structural elements of Earnest Giles, covering the northern section of a geologically significant arc, enhancing Greatland Gold's control over this promising zone. Day explained that these new tenements are part of an existing land access agreement, allowing rapid commencement of ground operations. For the remainder of the year, the company plans to drill at the Meadows target to the south and conduct electrical polarization surveys to refine targets in that region. Further north, near Mount Smith, they aim to define additional drill targets. Phil Carroll and Kevin Hornsby Welcome Ruper Verco, CEO of Cobra, a dynamic exploration company defining a unique multi-mineral resource at the Wudinna Project in South Australia's Gawler Craton, a renowned mining and exploration jurisdiction hosting several world-class mines. With expansive Wudinna tenements totaling 1,832 km2, and nearby tenement rights of 2,941 km2, Cobra is positioned at the forefront of highly desirable and ionic rare earth mineralisation, crucial for global decarbonisation efforts. Six months ago Cobra pioneered a new exploration concept for rare earths that resulted in the discovery of the Boland rare earths deposit - Australia's only rare earth project with “In Situ Recovery” potential. Rupert brings over 15 years of extensive experience in the mining industry, both in Australia and internationally. His expertise spans resource definition, reserve optimization, mine planning, and operational management across various commodities such as gold, copper, uranium, tin, and iron ore. As a fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Rupert's leadership and insights are invaluable in driving Cobra's strategic vision forward. With his background in geology and a commitment to excellence, Rupert is poised to navigate Cobra towards further success in the dynamic mining landscape. Shaun Day, MD of Greatland Gold also guests and talks about the company acknowledging the reserve estimate for the Havieron gold-copper project announced by Newmont noting it aligns closely with your own indicated resource figures. Despite differences in the inferred mineral resource category—attributable to the distinct reporting standards of the JORC Australian code used by Greatland and the US code used by Newmont—Newmont's indicated resources show a significant 35% increase from June 2023, totaling 4.9 million ounces of gold equivalent, slightly below Greatland's 5 million ounces estimate. The inferred estimate by Newmont stands at 900,000 ounces, in contrast to Greatland's 3.4 million ounces. Shaun highlighted this as a testament to the asset's world-class status and the quality of Greatland's technical team. Greatland Gold PLC managing director Shaun Day joins Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with latest drilling results from the company's Ernest Giles project in Western Australia's goldfields. The 100% owned project spans over 1,950 square kilometres and is notably underexplored, providing a unique opportunity for significant gold discoveries. The area, rich in arcane greenstone, mirrors the geological features of other prolific gold discoveries in the region. Following over five years of efforts to secure First Nations heritage access, Day said Greatland Gold has now commenced drilling, revealing promising mineralization from preliminary tests. The initial drilling phase, supported by the Western Australian Government's EIS programme, included two diamond drill holes totaling 1,300 meters, uncovering mineralization of eight meters at 0.12 grams per ton. Although not indicative of a full ore body, Day said these results are encouraging and lay the groundwork for further exploration. Greatland Gold plans to leverage its expertise in uncovering undercover opportunities, employing geophysics to peer through the cover and identify potential gold deposits. Looking ahead, the company aims to conduct an extensive exploration program in the latter half of 2024, focusing on geophysical surveys to better understand the underlying structures and guide future drilling efforts. ‌ #GreatlandGold #ErnestGilesProject #GoldExploration #MiningAustralia #WesternAustraliaGold #GreenstoneBelt #UndercoverMining #GoldFields #MineralExploration #Geophysics #DrillingResults #ResourceSector #MiningTechnology #GoldMining #ShaunDay #MiningInterviews #ResourceInvestment #ExplorationGeology #MiningUpdates #GoldSector #InvestingInGold #MiningInnovation #ProactiveInvestors #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

New ventures include work on the Kakuyu project in Zambia, exploring two large surface anomalies, and a joint venture with Coopermelon Limited focusing on copper mineralisation in northwest Zambia with a planned exploration expenditure of US$2 million. Shaun Day also makes a guest appearance and talks to the team after Newcrest Mining shareholders have overwhelmingly approved the A$26.2 billion ($16.81 billion) acquisition offer from Newmont Corporation, marking it as Australia's largest corporate deal of the year. 92.63% of Newcrest's votes were in favor of the deal, surpassing the required 75% approval threshold. This follows Newmont's shareholders in the U.S., who voted over 96% in favor of acquiring the Australian company. Phil Carroll and Kevin Hornsby talk to Shaun after the company announced that is has formed a joint venture with Rio Tinto to explore 1,884 square kilometers of territory in Western Australia's Paterson Province, near the Havieron gold-copper project. The area, dubbed the Paterson South Project, is underexplored but rich in potential, and the partnership aligns with Greatland's strategy for Australian asset growth. The deal allows Greatland to earn up to a 75% interest in the project over two stages, with an initial minimum commitment of A$1.1 million and 2,000 metres of drilling by December 2024. The project enhances Greatland's presence in the region and paves the way for further exploration and possible discoveries. Phil Carroll and Kevin Hornsby talk to Allan about CIZ1b. Primary lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. Early detection is crucial, as surgical resection of early-stage tumors is the only curative therapy currently available. Lung cancers detected at stage 1 have a better outcome than those diagnosed later. Screening programs using chest X-ray or low-dose computed tomography can identify the disease at an early stage, but the costs of screening, including the high number of false positives, make stand-alone imaging strategies difficult to justify. A blood-based biomarker, CIZ1b, has shown promise in detecting early-stage lung cancer. Shaun Day makes an appearance and talks about the recent Scallyway results and his time in London.
