Jusqu'où iront les prix du cuivre ? Et jusqu'à quand seront-ils supportables pour les acheteurs ? Ce sont les questions qu'on se pose dans la chronique des matières premières. Cette année, les prix du cuivre ont augmenté de près de 25% et les prévisions pour 2026 confirment cette tendance à la hausse. Après deux années d'excédent sur le marché, on entend à nouveau parler de pénurie. Le Groupe international d'étude du cuivre, a confirmé jeudi lors de la conférence mondiale du secteur qui se déroule à Shanghai, qu'au niveau mondial en 2026, la production de métal rouge augmenterait de 0,9% soit moins vite que cette année. Conséquence, le marché du cuivre pourrait connaître un déficit de 150 000 tonnes l'année prochaine. Les prix, toujours proches de 11 000 dollars la tonne, leur pic de fin octobre, devraient rester en hausse jusqu'en 2030, selon la Commission nationale chilienne du cuivre qui constate que cette année la production nationale ne progressera presque pas. Au-delà des restrictions de l'offre minière globale, d'autres facteurs jouent sur les prix. C'est le cas de la baisse attendue des taux d'intérêt de la Réserve fédérale américaine (FED) en décembre. Cette baisse serait favorable à une reprise économique et donc à la demande en cuivre, symbole par excellence de la bonne santé industrielle d'un pays. Prime sur le cuivre chilien Cette hausse des prix s'illustre par la prime que demandent les opérateurs chiliens. Concrètement, pour les contrats de l'année prochaine, Codelco, le plus grand producteur mondial, propose son cuivre bien au-dessus du prix du LME, la bourse aux métaux de Londres : soit environ 300 à 350 dollars de plus par tonne. Cette année, Codelco a vendu son cuivre avec une prime de 89 dollars. Avec de tels prix, l'opérateur chilien fait comprendre à ses acheteurs que l'offre sera encore insuffisante l'année prochaine, et qu'il faudra payer plus pour avoir du cuivre. Et ce dans un contexte où les États-Unis ont aspiré d'énormes volumes depuis le début de l'année pour anticiper la mise en place de taxes. Cette démarche a asséché le marché et a fait grimper les stocks du Comex, la bourse aux métaux de New York à un niveau record de plus de 400 000 tonnes pendant que ceux du LME baissaient cette année de plus de 40%. Ils s'affichent désormais à moins de 157 000 tonnes. Des prix dissuasifs ? À de tels niveaux, les prix pèsent sur les acheteurs chinois, les premiers consommateurs de cuivre au monde. Certains d'entre eux seraient réticents à souscrire des contrats d'approvisionnement pour l'année prochaine. Les acheteurs sont des fonderies et raffineries chinoises qui ont déjà vu ces derniers mois leurs revenus s'effondrer, jusqu'à afficher des marges négatives de l'ordre de 60 dollars pour transformer le concentré de cuivre acheté à la mine, en cathodes de cuivre métal utilisables par l'industrie. 欢迎收听雪球出品的财经有深度，雪球，国内领先的集投资交流交易一体的综合财富管理平台，聪明的投资者都在这里。今天分享的内容叫有色金属，降息预期下的投资思考，来自十年财务自由之路。6月28日，受美国232条款铜进口调查影响，交易商将创纪录的铜运往美国，以规避潜在进口关税，这导致非美地区出现短缺。“抢铜大战”爆发，伦敦金属交易所的可交割库存规模已大幅暴跌约80%，目前仅相当于全球一天的用量。受此影响，所谓的明日/次日价差指标周四进一步攀升至惊人的每吨溢价98美元，创下了自2021年伦敦金属交易所遭遇历史性轧空风暴以来的最高水平。传导至A股，本周五工业金属板块大涨3.57%，有色板块成为今年涨幅最好的板块。有色板块，主要包括以黄金为代表的贵金属、以铜铝为代表的工业金属和以镍锂为代表的金属品种。平安证券研报认为：以黄金为代表的贵金属，受益于美元信用体系弱化等核心主线，价格中枢有望持续抬升；以铜铝为代表的工业金属，受益于QE及自身基本面逻辑，弹性有望加速释放。以镍锂为代表的能源金属，商品属性仍为定价核心要素，考虑到处于出清周期内，仍需等待基本面驱动。工业金属，尤其是铜，是我想要一探究竟的。工业金属具备金融和商品两方面属性，金融属性主要受美联储加息降息影响，商品属性主要体现在供需格局方面。Ⅰ：量化宽松量化宽松对于大宗商品的传导路径如下，大宗商品多以美元计价，美元指数走弱对大宗商品定价有显著影响，主要体现在推高以美元计价的大宗商品价格。过去几年，美债利率一直维持在高位，虹吸全球流动性。随着降息预期将近，释放的流动性必然会寻求新的价值洼地，处在高位的美股到时将会面临压力。Ⅱ：供需格局商品属性，主要体现在供需格局。供给多了，价格自然下降。供给少了，需求上来了，商品价格自然涨起来。对于以铜铝为代表的工业金属，供给是相对受限的。以铜为例，供给端：海外主要铜矿企业2025年Q1产量总体下行，2025年计划产量较2024年实际产量多现回落。从海外主要头部铜矿企业表现来看，除必和必拓、力拓以及安托法加斯塔外，多数矿企2025年Q1铜产量环比现小增或大幅下降，样本总计Q1铜产量同比下降3.5%。全年维度来看，预计铜产量合计1013.7万吨，较2024年同比下降2%。需求端：铜广泛应用于电力、建筑、电子、交通、机械、能源、家电及高科技领域。2025年，前十名铜消费国家分别是中国、美国13%、日本10%、印度，7%；德国6%，韩国5%，俄罗斯4%，巴西、加拿大、墨西哥各占3%中国，作为全球最大的铜消费国，中国的铜消费量在2024年达到约1200万吨，占全球总消费量的约44%。从整体来看，不管是中国经济发力基建，还是全球，需求相对还是可以的。铜库存，短期承压。针对铜价后续走势，高盛表示，将2025年下半年LME铜价预测上调至平均9890美元每吨，并预计铜价有望在8月达到10050美元每吨的峰值。目前不管是从QE还是供给端，都是对铜有利的。铜金属龙头股有哪些？紫金矿业——全球扩张的“矿业联合国”作为中国唯一跻身全球前五的铜业巨头，紫金矿业在五大洲布局铜矿资产，6200万吨铜资源储量占全国半壁江山。其西藏巨龙铜矿二期投产后，矿产铜产能将突破60万吨/年，2025年全球产量目标直指115万吨。确定性和估值都还不错。江西铜业——全产业链的“定海神针”国内最大综合性铜企，拥有从矿山到深加工的完整产业链。140万吨阴极铜产能稳居行业首位，铜矿自给率超40%构筑成本护城河。优点是估值低，不足之处，铜加工环节利润率过低。洛阳钼业——新能源金属的“双核引擎”刚果TFM与KFM铜矿构成全球级资源组合，铜金属资源量超3444万吨。2024年铜钴产量突破60万吨，与宁德时代合作锁定新能源金属供应渠道。西部矿业——盐湖提锂的“跨界先锋”青海铜矿开发主力军，铜产品贡献67%营收，高弹性特质使其在铜价上涨周期业绩爆发力显著。锡铁山铅锌矿伴生铜资源实现综合回收，吨矿净利提升20%。盐湖提锂技术嫁接矿业开发，形成“铜+锂”双轮驱动模式，资源综合利用能力构筑独特竞争壁垒。
In this KE Report daily editorial, I'm joined by Darrell Fletcher, Managing Director of Commodities at Bannockburn Capital Markets, who provides a trading desk perspective on the latest price action, positioning, and macro signals across the energy, copper, and precious metals markets. - Energy volatility dominates June - from geopolitical spikes to bearish fundamentals. - Copper holds firm above $4 with physical market dislocations and tariff pricing. - Gold consolidates near record highs as silver plays catch-up. Key Discussion Highlights: Energy Markets: Oil spiked on Middle East tensions but quickly reversed on news of a ceasefire. Darrell highlights that despite short-term risk premiums, the WTI forward curve remains anchored around $62, reflecting ongoing bearish fundamentals like rising global inventories and weakening demand. US rig counts are at multi-year lows, but no supply shock is expected yet. Natural Gas: A short-lived surge on heatwave-driven demand brought prices above $4, but markets have now converged back toward $3.50. Darrell notes a balanced setup, supported by increasing LNG flows and long-term support from Calendar 2026 pricing around $4.40. Copper: The metal continues to trade strongly just below $5/lb. Physical flows into COMEX are pushing spreads higher, with LME inventories falling and tariff expectations leading to a 10-15% price premium. Large copper miners like Freeport and BHP are rebounding, but still lag copper's year-to-date performance. Precious Metals: Gold is flat for the month but remains near record highs, while silver is up 7% in June and closing the performance gap. Darrell maintains a bullish view on gold due to debt concerns, a weakening USD, and potential Fed rate cuts. Silver, while less of a pure monetary asset, shows strong industrial demand and momentum. US Dollar & Macro Impact: A falling USD (down ~10% YTD) is generally supportive of commodities, but Darrell points out the correlation is looser than in the past. He sees continued pressure on the greenback from fiscal concerns and rate cut expectations.
We are back to France — the current epicentre of European credit stress — for our second episode of Distressed Diaries.Over the last few months, French lab company Cerba's debt has taken a beating as fears mount over its unsustainable €3.8bn capital. Screwed" Sounds Better than Getting "Argentina'd" In the world of corporate debt, everyone seems to be talking about "Liability Management Exercises," where a borrower, with a subset of creditors, exploits loose loan covenants in ways that leave other creditors screaming mad. Even better, these LME techniques have clever names: "trap doors," getting "J. Screwed," etc. And while the worlds of sovereign and corporate debt don't overlap all that much, we wonder if litigation over LMEs can tell us anything about sovereign debt restructurings.
