Han elskede Jesus, og passede på hans får. 5. Hvad det er for et billede vi har af den Jesus, der kalder på os? Vi lægger ofte vores egne erfaringer ind i ligningen. Vi husker, hvordan folk har har reageret overfor os, når vi har svigtet dem. Eller måske erfaringen af, hvordan vi selv har tendens til at reagere, når vi føler os svigtet. Er han “skuffede Jesus” – Jesus, der ser på os med lidt misbilligende øjne? Er han den fornærmede Jesus?Den passiv-aggressive Jesus: “det er fint nok, at du kommer… men!” Tør du se på Jesus som ham, der kalder på os og inviterer os hen til et måltid?Til overvejelse: Du kan godt fejle som tjener – du kan godt fejle i det, du gør for GudDu kan aldrig fejle som Guds barn – du vil altid være opsøgt, villet og elsket af Gud. Gud har oprettet en pagt med dig gennem din dåb, der binder dig til ham og rodfæster dig i ham. If you haven’t seen the 2016 Oscar-nominated film LION, please watch it before you listen to this episode. Based on the 2013 non-fiction book A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley, it’s one of the most powerful biographical drama films I’ve ever seen. It retells the story of Saroo, who was lost to his family in India at age 5 after ending up on a train bound more than 1,000 kilometers away from his hometown. After living on the street and then an orphanage, he is adopted by Tasmanian couple Sue and John Brierley. A year into his life with them, the couple adopt another boy, Mantosh, who due to the trauma he experienced in the Indian orphanages he was in, has a lot of trouble adjusting to his new home and this is one of the many heartbreaking parts of the film. 20 years later, using Google Earth Saroo remarkably finds his hometown. The film ends with Saroo's return to India in February 2012 and being reunited with his biological mother, and we learn that his brother Guddu was killed by a train the same night that they were separated as children. While we learnt a lot about Sue in the movie, who is played by Nicole Kidman, I was left wanting to know more about this extraordinary woman who knew from a young age that adoption would always be her path. There’s a moment in the film where Saroo learns that sue is not infertile, and that she chose adoption because it was what she wanted. It was her path. And Sue is our guest on the podcast today. She has just written the most powerful memoir Lioness, which is out now, and I hope you will all read. This is a beautiful story of family in all its forms, and the quest of one woman to better the lives of children in need. In today’s conversation, we talk about: Sue’s early life as the child of refugees from Hungary and Poland, living in an isolated environment and with poor language skills in Tasmania. Her violent father and traumatic childhood and how this trauma has played out in her life. Her journey to motherhood and her desire to help vulnerable children. The arrival of her first son Saroo and what it was like being a mother for the first time. Adopting another son from India, Mantosh, who had experienced significant trauma in India and how the challenges she faced sent her into a deep depression. His first killing took place in 1998 for which he was arrested and held in jail until 2002, when he was released due to lack of evidence.[1] Following his release, he embarked upon a spate of killings. First Shekar and Umesh in 2003, Guddu in 2005, Amit in 2006 and Upender and Dalip in 2007. He would befriend migrant labourers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and help them get small jobs. Later, petty disputes over things like smoking, lying or being non-vegetarian would lead him to murder them by strangulation.[2] Chandrakant took pleasure in taunting the police by leaving dismembered body parts around the city and outside the Tihar Jail with notes daring the police to catch him. He was found guilty on three counts of murder and received two death sentences and life imprisonment until death in February, 2013[3] His death sentences were commuted to life imprisonment without remission in January 2016.[4] Chandrakant worked as a hawker in Delhi weekly bazaars. He married twice, abandoning the first within one year. He has five daughters with his second wife. Il raconte l’histoire vraie de Saroo, un enfant indien qui habite dans un village près de Calcutta. Un matin, Saroo accompagne son grand frère, Guddu, au travail. Guddu lui demande de l’attendre sur le quai d’une gare mais… il ne réapparait pas. Saroo décide alors de se réfugier dans un wagon et s’endort. Quand il se réveille, le train roule vers une destination inconnue… Le petit Saroo, âgé seulement de cinq ans, essaye de rentrer chez lui, seul. Mais à cet âge, c’est mission impossible. Il ne connait même pas le nom de son village ! Il s’enfonce dans l’immense ville et se perd complètement. Il est finalement recueilli par un orphelinat, et sera adopté par une famille australienne."

Kristín Einarsdóttir, okkar kona á Ströndum, sagði í dag frá nokkrum einkennum drauga og nefndi dæmi um hvernig megi varast þá og las svo söguna af henni Þorpa-Guddu.
