In this powerful episode of Talk With Silje, I'm thrilled to sit down with the fearless feminist writer, filmmaker, and activist Vaishnavi Sundar for an unfiltered conversation that dives deep into the intersections of identity, ideology, and women's autonomy. As a clinical psychologist, I must confess I feel a profound sense of shame about how my professional community has often failed to critically engage with these issues, too often aligning with ideological trends over evidence-based practice. Vaishnavi, an independent Indian filmmaker known for her bold critiques of gender identity ideology and its global impact, joins me to share her groundbreaking work amplifying silenced female voices. We unpack her documentary, Behind the Looking Glass, the first to spotlight "trans widows"—women whose partners transitioned, leaving emotional devastation. With raw testimonies from women like Jo Bartosch and Genevieve Gluck, and insights from experts like Helen Joyce and Derrick Jensen, it exposes the silence around these victims amid celebrated transition narratives. We also dive into her series, Dysphoric: Fleeing Womanhood Like a House on Fire, a poignant exploration of gender dysphoria's roots in misogyny, corporate commodification of womanhood, and Western ideology's spread to India. Through animations, music, and voices of clinicians, detransitioners, feminists, and parents, it traces why young girls seek irreversible transitions to escape patriarchal pressures. At the core is Vaishnavi's fight against “wokism,” a progressive ideology she argues erodes women's protections by prioritizing self-identified gender over biological realities, often harming girls, families, and free speech. She shares her journey from surviving abuse in India to facing protests and censorship in the UK. As a psychologist, I see trauma, cognitive dissonance, and social contagion at play, and I'm troubled by my field's reluctance to engage critically due to fear of controversy.► DONATIONSPayPal:USD: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted...GBP: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted...EURO: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted...NOK: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted...Bitcoin lightning address: psykologsilje@bb.noWise-donation links:20 Euro: https://wise.com/pay/r/pPHY8hm4QyBtX9U50 Euro: https://wise.com/pay/r/PAfwTGpHxpvcZE4100 Euro: https://wise.com/pay/r/H2CTSRoVZsQ0nEs20 USD: https://wise.com/pay/r/eq5HkKCbyqYjJN850 USD: https://wise.com/pay/r/qvK_R6g66h6bfIw100 USD: https://wise.com/pay/r/S_jCHDuABVLchZoVipps-paymens: 806513► CHANNELS* YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SnakkMedSilje* Substack: https://open.substack.com/pub/psykologsilje► SOME* Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/psykologsilje?igsh=MW84MDE0MWplc2FwbA==* TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@psykologsilje?_t=8oc3HBC1r4z&_r=1* Twitter: https://x.com/Silje_Schevig► CHAPTERS00:00 - Start02:50 - Goals and Impact of "Behind the Looking Glass"04:02 - The Concept of Trans Widows and Family Trauma05:37 - Personal Experiences Filming the Documentary10:04 - Domestic Abuse and Societal Silence11:56 - Inspiration Behind the Film and Connection to "Dysphoric"19:59 - Reasons Women Stay in Abusive Marriages23:20 - Autogynephilia28:00 - Listening to womens trauma stories33:40 - Vaishnavis childhood in Chennai39:00 - Self-Doubt and Turning to Feminism45:00 - Feminism in India and Norway01:03:48 - Dysphoric01:26:07 - Social Contagion01:27:04 - Parallels to Eating Disorders and Puberty Blockers01:28:46 - Comparing to Lobotomy01:32:42 - Media's Role and Societal Blindness01:35:00 - Lime Soda Films01:37:22 - Challenges from Gender Ideology Criticism01:39:02 - Celebrating Women's Work and Future Plans► REFERENCESVaishnavi's homepage: https://vaishnavisundar.com/ The dysphoric series: https://limesodafilms.com/dysphoric/Behind the looking glass documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Frffv2sB8zE&t=12s

Show Notes: Kartik Sundar, founder of TeamSlide, a tool that uses AI to create PowerPoint slides, explains that TeamSlide is available through a web browser and a PowerPoint add-in, with users starting in the web browser and eventually using the add-in for more seamless access. A Demonstration of TeamSlide  Kartik demonstrates how TeamSlide converts notes into consulting-style slides using AI for visual design and text layout. He explains the chat interface-like layout and the ability to generate multiple slide layouts from the same content. TeamSlide identifies the best layout for the story and structures it accordingly, using the example of four takeaways. Users can select specific layouts and input data, which TeamSlide will then convert into the chosen template.   Features and Customization of TeamSlide  Kartik shows how users can be more prescriptive by selecting specific layouts and inputting data, which TeamSlide will then convert into the chosen template. Kartik explains that TeamSlide considers the size of text boxes and edits sentences to fit within them, maintaining the look and feel of the slide. He pulls data from ChatGPT to demonstrate how TeamSlide adapts the information to the slide deck.    When asked about using personal PowerPoint templates, Kartik explains that while independent users cannot insert their own templates, TeamSlide's templates are designed to be transferable to any PowerPoint template. Kartik mentions that consulting firms and enterprises can specify their templates and layouts, which TeamSlide will then adapt to fit their brand and voice. Exploring Templates and Features Kartik demonstrates the variety of templates available in TeamSlide, including flows, executive summaries, data visualization, and specialized slides like maturity curves and funnels. Kartik talks about the different templates, noting the advanced manipulation capabilities of TeamSlide, such as restructuring slides in complex ways to meet specific needs and uses building an org chart with specified team members as an example. Kartik explains that independent consultants can access TeamSlide for free, while enterprises can tailor the solution to their brand and voice for a fee.   PowerPoint Add-In and AI Assistant  Kartik demonstrates the PowerPoint add-in, which is available in Microsoft's app source and integrates seamlessly with PowerPoint for a more streamlined experience. When asked about the integration of personal PowerPoint templates, Kartik explains that the add-in will transfer the color scheme and styling of the user's template. He also mentions the search function in TeamSlide, which allows users to find slides in their knowledge repository, such as SharePoint or Box.   History and Evolution of TeamSlide  Kartik provides a brief history of TeamSlide, starting with a deep slide search tool in 2014 and evolving to include AI-generated slides and the training data used to develop the tool. TeamSlide was initially designed for consulting firms to improve the process of finding and creating slides, and later expanded to serve marketing and sales teams. The AI aspect of TeamSlide was developed after testing internally to see what features would be most valuable to their audience. Integration of Brand Voice Kartik highlights the importance of tailoring the solution to the brand and voice of consulting firms and enterprises, ensuring that the slides fit their specific needs. The conversation summarizes the various features and benefits of TeamSlide, including the ability to generate slides with specific layouts and data, and the advanced manipulation capabilities. The pricing for enterprises depends on the number of users and includes customization charges. Cc Madhya 14.174-257 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/14/advanced-view/ Dressing himself as a Vaiṣṇava, Mahārāja Pratāparudra entered the garden at Balagaṇḍi alone and began reciting verses from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. He then took the opportunity to massage the lotus feet of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. The Lord, in His ecstatic love for Kṛṣṇa, immediately embraced the King and thus bestowed mercy upon him. When there was an offering of prasādam in the garden, Lord Caitanya also partook of it. After this, when Lord Jagannātha's ratha car stopped moving, King Pratāparudra called for many elephants to pull it, but they were unsuccessful. Seeing this, Lord Caitanya began to push the car from behind with His head, and the car began moving. Then the devotees began pulling the car with ropes. Near the Guṇḍicā temple is a place known as Āiṭoṭā. This place was fixed up for Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu to rest in. When Lord Jagannātha was seated at Sundarācala, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu saw it as Vṛndāvana. He performed sporting pastimes in the water of the lake known as Indradyumna. For nine continuous days during Ratha-yātrā, the Lord remained at Sundarācala, and on the fifth day He and Svarūpa Dāmodara observed the pastimes of Lakṣmī, the goddess of fortune. During that time, there was much talk about the pastimes of the gopīs. When the ratha was again being drawn and the chanting resumed, two devotees from Kulīna-grāma — Rāmānanda Vasu and Satyarāja Khān — were requested to bring silk ropes every year for the Ratha-yātrā ceremony. How Kathmandu Grew Wrong & What We Can Learn From History. In this podcast, we sit down with Padma Sundar Joshi, an expert in urban planning and heritage conservation, to explore the history and challenges of Kathmandu's urbanization. The conversation begins with the history of Newa settlements and how they were self-sufficient, designed around rivers, and shaped community life. Joshi explains why Kathmandu floods today, the failure of land use planning, and how projects like the Ring Road and decisions by political figures accelerated unplanned growth. We dive into the population crisis, asking if decentralization is the solution, and uncover the role of temples and jatras in building community ties. Joshi highlights Kathmandu's biggest urban challenge: mobility. He critiques failed infrastructure like the Gwarko flyover, and suggests ways to improve public transport. The podcast also touches on Joshi's book Hiti Pranali, the importance of hitis in Patan, and how to revive them. We discuss whether Kathmandu's soil is crumbling, why banning deep boring is necessary, and the troubled history of the Melamchi Project. Joshi also shares insights into Newa earthquake-resistant architecture, the lessons of the 2015 earthquake, and how retrofitting and traditional knowledge can protect future generations. This episode is a must-watch for anyone concerned about Kathmandu's urban crisis, water scarcity, and earthquake preparedness.

India scripted a great escape in the 4th Test match at Manchester. Ben Stokes's England were left frustrated by the grit of Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar. Controversy struck on the final day of the Test match when Jadeja and Sundar refused to go off the field, despite the hassling of Ben Stokes and Co. England, led by Stokes, wanted the batters to call it curtains much before the scheduled closure of play after realising that they were not going to win the match. A massive wave of criticism followed Stokes and his team for unsportsmanlike conduct and trying to dictate the opposition's approach with the bat. Safe to say, the self-proclaimed custodians of the game failed morally as well. In the latest episode of the Sledging Room Podcast, Akshay Ramesh, Saurabh Kumar and Kingshuk Kusari discuss the draw in Manchester, which felt like a win. They also build up to the 5th and final Test match of the series, which might have major workload concerns for both teams. Produced by Garvit Srivastava Sound mixed by Rohan Bharti

After England scored a mammoth 669 to take a commanding lead and leave India 0-2 on Day 4, all thoughts turned to an England win. But a fantastic display from India's batters on a flat Old Trafford pitch saw India home to a comfortable draw. Some late shenanigans gave us something to talk about, however, as Jadeja and Sundar wound up weary England by turning down an early finish to reach their centuries. 1 test to go and the trophy remains up for grabs! Everyone speaks with an accent, but what is an accent? Thinking with an Accent: Toward a New Object, Method, and Practice (UC Press, 2023) introduces accent as a powerfully coded yet underexplored mode of perception that includes looking, listening, acting, reading, and thinking. This volume convenes scholars of media, literature, education, law, language, and sound to theorize accent as an object of inquiry, an interdisciplinary method, and an embodied practice. Accent does more than just denote identity: from algorithmic bias and corporate pedagogy to migratory poetics and the politics of comparison, accent mediates global economies of discrimination and desire. Accents happen between bodies and media. They negotiate power and invite attunement. These essays invite the reader to think with an accent—to practice a dialogical and multimodal inquiry that can yield transformative modalities of knowledge, action, and care. MAY. 26, 2025When God asks you to give."The Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do." Eph 6:8 NIVWhen God asks you to sacrifice on behalf of somebody else, do it. It's like putting money in a heavenly account. You may not need it today or tomorrow, but when you do, God will ensure it comes back to you in multiplied form. Indian Christian missionary Sadhu Sundar Singh and a companion were traveling through a pass high in the Himalayas when they found a body lying in the snow. They checked for vital signs and discovered the man was still alive, but barely. As Sundar prepared to stop and help this unfortunate traveler, his companion objected, saying, "We shall lose our lives if we burden ourselves with him." Sundar, however, couldn't comprehend leaving the man to die in the snow without an attempt at rescue. His companion bade him farewell and walked on. Sundar lifted the traveler on his back and, with great exertion-made greater by the high altitude and snowy conditions-carried him onward. As he walked, the heat from his body began to warm the frozen man. He revived, and soon they were walking together side by side, holding each other up and sharing body heat. Before long, they came upon another traveler's body lying in the snow, and on closer inspection, they discovered he was dead. You guessed it. It was Sundar's original traveling companion! So, what's the lesson in all this? What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you! The Bible says, "Serve wholeheartedly because...the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do" (vv. 7-8 NIV).When God asks you to give Money in a heavenly accountShare This DevotionalSend us a textSupport the showChanging Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!

Following ICE's detention of Columbia University graduate student Mahmoud Khalil and the sudden revocation of hundreds of student visas across the country, professor and novelist Sheila Sundar joins co-hosts Whitney Terrell and V.V. Ganeshananthan to talk about the targeting of international university students, especially those involved in pro-Palestine speech or protests, by the Trump administration. Sundar reflects on a childhood spent partly among intellectuals travelling between countries, and explains how this led to her recent novel, Habitations, in which the protagonist leaves her home in South India for graduate school at Columbia. Sundar discusses international students' contributions to American intellectual life and how the current assault on diversity damages academia. She also talks about how work-restrictive policies treat international students as “takers” who are not welcome to integrate fully into American society. Sundar reads from Habitations. Simon Sinek says that a lot of organizations can talk about what they do and how they do it. But he says, “Very few organizations know why they do what they do.” And it's the ‘why' that is the most important. In this episode, we're taking this lesson and more from Simon Sinek with the help of our special guest, Guru Sundar.Together, we talk about finding your ‘why', looking for inspiration in unexpected places, and timing your content so it feels fresh. About our guest, Guru SundarGuru Sundar is VP of Marketing at Abridge, a leader in generative AI for healthcare. Guru has been with the company since September 2023. He previously served as VP of Marketing at Looking Glass Factory and Butterfly Network. Guru holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California. What B2B Companies Can Learn From Simon Sinek:Find your ‘why'. Figure out the reason your work is important and use that in your content. Guru says, ”Every company should have a ‘why' that's rooted in a large problem. And it may be broken into a subset of problems that you tackle over time, but like really focus on that ‘why.'”Look for inspiration in unusual places. Inspiration for your content can come from unexpected places. Guru says, ”Drawing inspiration from outside is culturally ingrained in how we do what we do at Abridge, because if you look at who's next to you, you're not going to innovate. But if you look way far out and break down like, ‘Oh, that brand or that person is having similar challenges, but they're making t-shirts, but I can draw some inspiration from them,' or like ‘That person over there is making music, or they're making some form of art that no one's ever seen before.'”Time your delivery so content stays fresh. Finesse is everything when delivering content to your audience. Guru says, ”No one likes fatigue. And so you have to keep fatigue, freshness, innovation in mind as you're generating these pieces of content. You could have like four or five different content streams. And people need to hear things multiple times, but they don't need to hear it seven times in a row. A lot of the content is developing the right things for your audience that are innately interesting. If you just ask someone, ‘Hey, is this interesting? Is this useful?' They say yes. But then serving it at the right frequency, at the right time, in the right form factor and package, is what I think differentiates okay marketers from incredible marketers.”Quotes*”Drawing inspiration from outside is culturally ingrained in how we do what we do at Abridge, because if you look at who's next to you, you're not going to innovate. And it may be broken into a subset of problems that you tackle over time, but like really focus on that ‘why.'”*”You can break marketing down into two mainstreams. It's like  amazing content that resonates with your audience, you know, your buyer, your end user, and then you have to serve it on all the right channels with the right frequency, usage, et cetera, like cut it up the right way. But content is everything. So it's like, what is it that's going to inspire your buyers? What is it that's going to inspire your end users? And it's keeping it provocative.”*”No one likes fatigue. If you don't believe in the content, don't serve the content.  And I think a lot of people in marketing just check the box. ‘We need to do emails. We need to do ads. We need to do a white paper,' but like, why are you doing it? And then assess like, ‘Did this work? Did this not work?' And use that as impetus to drive the next thing. But you have to really believe in your content. And I think a lot of people are very tactical and that's where I think it falls flat.“*”The way we operate at Abridge is like you almost have this mentality that this is the last time you're ever gonna create a piece of content. So make it last, make it meaningful.  At some point, you gotta pull back and appreciate everything you've done. Take stock of it. But in the moment, like, don't look back. Don't look too far forward. Focus on today and crush it. And when you think about content that way, it's like, ‘I'm going to really focus on this piece of content. I don't really care what we've done in the past. I don't care what we're going to do in the future. I want to make this count.'”Time Stamps[0:55] Meet Guru Sundar, VP of Marketing at Abridge[1:53] Guru Sundar's Journey into Marketing[4:31] The Role and Vision at Abridge[7:35] The Importance of Brand and Inspiration[16:37] Simon Sinek's Golden Circle[19:29] Personal Mission and Healthcare Innovation[23:25] The Impact of Transparency in Healthcare[25:20] AI and Deeper Understanding in Healthcare[25:46] The Importance of Patient History[27:53] Marketing and Storytelling in Healthcare[31:41] Challenges in B2B Healthcare Marketing[33:09] Clinician and Patient-Centric Solutions[43:12] The Role of Content in Marketing[50:34] Final Thoughts and TakeawaysLinksConnect with Guru on LinkedInLearn more about Simon Sinek and “Starting with Why”About Remarkable!Remarkable! is created by the team at Caspian Studios, the premier B2B Podcast-as-a-Service company. Today, I interview Dr. Kalpana Sundar, who overcame a life of restriction and stifled self-expression to discover her authentic voice. Growing up in a traditional Indian household in the United States, Kalpana experienced the tension of balancing cultural expectations and her own independent spirit. As the firstborn and a rebellious child, her attempts to express herself were often met with resistance, leading her to suppress her voice to conform. Her early years were shaped by her parents' hopes and dreams, which she fulfilled by pursuing a career in medicine, becoming a successful ENT surgeon. The turning point in her life came when she faced a personal health crisis—thyroid cancer. Although she physically recovered, unprocessed trauma from the experience led her to seek therapy years later. This journey helped her recognize the patterns of silencing her voice, not only from her upbringing but also in her professional and personal relationships. Slowly, Kalpana began to dismantle these constraints, transitioning out of her medical practice, ending her marriage, and embracing a new chapter in life.Today, Dr. Kalpana Sundar has transformed her experiences into a mission to empower others. Through her book Beauty Unbound, speaking engagements, and coaching work, she guides individuals to break free from limiting beliefs and find the courage to live authentically. She now helps aesthetic providers enhance their businesses while continuing to inspire others to embrace freedom and authenticity in their lives.__________________Dr. Kalpana Sundar is a multifaceted powerhouse in medicine, entrepreneurship, and personal development. As a board-certified expert in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery, she founded a successful ENT practice and medical spa. Her early battle with thyroid cancer ignited her passion for achieving balance between professional and personal life. Through her book, Beauty Unbound, and transformative talks, Dr. Sundar inspires women to embrace leadership roles, especially in entrepreneurship. In addition to her work as a speaker on leadership and entrepreneurship, Dr. Sundar hosts the TV show Gloves Off and consults with aesthetic providers to elevate their businesses and personal lives. Based in San Diego, she lives vibrantly, indulging her love for travel, fashion, and martial arts.
