160 Seiten. Diogenes, 1996. (diverse Auflagen) Philipp Gurt. Todesengel. Ein Fall für Giulia de Medici. 384 Seiten. Kampa, 2025. Michael Fehr. Simeliberg. 144 Seiten. This lecture discusses key ideas from the ancient Stoic philosopher Seneca's work, On Anger, book 2 It focuses specifically on his discussion of famous people who showed restraint and thoughtfulness in relation to their own anger, keeping it under rational control. These include statesmen and political leaders like Antigonus and Philip of Macedon, Augustus Caesar, and Cato the younger, and philosophers like Plato and Diogenes the Stoic.

We take a look at his balls-out-approach to "living his brand" (pun ABSOLUTELY intended), his bitter date-induced rivalry with another famous philosopher, and his brutal comeback to Alexander the Great-- or should we say Alexander the LAAAMME after Diogenes philosophizes him in the face. Rather than taking advice from a Chad philosopher like Diogenes, we'll instead be diving into the deep end of virgin Friedrich Nietzche's thoughts. This is essential if one wants to understand the underlying meaning of Xenosaga, particularly this final entry in the series.
Since this is another Huge Niblet episode, we decided to talk a little bit about philosophy. More importantly, we discuss Diogenes the Cynic and what the philosophical meaning of the word “cynic” is. Then we cover 3 chapters in Approaching Zion, all while keeping the question, “Was Hugh Nibley a modern day cynic?” in mind.
