"Is this person good for my soul?" In this quiet, powerful conversation, dating and relationship coach Mariana Moreno joins us to talk about the kind of love that feels safe, peaceful, and lasting—the kind that lifts you up instead of leaving you questioning your worth. Mariana goes beyond dating “rules” and fantasy expectations to explore how to filter out toxic advice, tune into your inner voice, and reflect on the real question: Is this relationship nourishing me—or draining me?  We talk about self-worth, moving on after heartbreak, and how to stop chasing fantasy love so you can finally recognize the real thing.   00:33 – Signs of a Safe and Fulfilling Relationship 03:52 – Healing After an Emotionally Abusive Relationship 06:01 – The One Question to Ask If You're Unsure About Them 15:44 – How to Move On from a Breakup in a Healthy Way 22:10 – The Link Between Self-Worth and the Love You Accept   ✨ Topics in this podcast: Emotional safety in dating Why self-esteem sets the tone for the love you accept What healthy “moving on” really looks like after a painful breakup Filtering harmful dating advice The one question to ask on every first date How to manage relationship baggage—like jealousy and fear—without pushing love away This episode is for anyone who's ever felt trapped in an unhealthy dynamic, struggled to move on, or is asking why the kind of connection they want keeps slipping away.

We are all familiar with the pain of a breakup, whether it be through personal experience or anywhere in pop-culture today. Our society is so vocal about romantic loss, but a more common and oftentimes even more painful occurrence is the loss of a friend. Kristen Reed Belveal is a jack of all trades: she's an author, podcaster, and mother who just recently launched a faith-based clothing line this year.  Most notably, Kristen wrote a book called "When Best Friends Aren't Forever: A Faith-Filled Four-Week Guide for Healing After a Friendship Breakup", written from the desire for people to harness the natural grief of a friendship ending to intentionally mitigate bitterness and leverage sanctification. The book delves into what a healthy friendship looks like: qualities like vulnerability, the ability to show up for one another in both difficult and prosperous seasons of life, and constructive criticism to help you increase in Godliness.Conversely, unhealthy qualities in friendships can look like nitpicking the way you look and act with no edifying intention behind the criticism, encouraging destructive patterns in each other's life and codependency may mean that the friendship is leading you astray and may need to be reevaluated. Kristen's book is available for purchase here, and her podcast called "Outside the Bubble" is available to listen to here.SUPPORT His Heartbeat through Crown of Beauty Internationalhttps://www.crownofbeautyinternational.com/donateCONNECT with His Heartbeat and Crown of Beauty InternationalWebsite// Facebook//InstagramEmail: crownofbeautyinternational@gmail.comConnect with Sue Corl's Instagram//Facebook// WebsitePurchase Sue's Transformational Bible Studies and Devotionals on Amazon!Sue Corl's best-selling books: Crown of Beauty Bible Study, Broken But UndefeatedCrown of Beauty International: EMPOWERING WOMEN AROUND THE WORLD WITH GOD'S TRUTH!

When a mother has the devastating experience of leaving the hospital without a baby and perhaps only a memory box, many in our society expect them to get on with living and go back to their normal life.  But their life is changed forever, and many don't recognize or acknowledge that. Today we will hear the story of grief, anger, a battle, and finally, a life's purpose for one mother who had to walk this hard path. Through her mission, she struggled to get family leave extended to grieving parents, so no one would have to suffer as she did. She also discovered the importance of providing resources for self-care and connection to bereavement groups. Elizabeth “Liz” O'Donnell is a steadfast infant loss advocate leading the charge in raising awareness and prevention of stillbirth and infant mortality. Her daughter, Aaliyah, was born still in 2020. Today, she runs a one-woman non-profit, Aaliyah in Action, keeping her daughter's spirit alive, supporting mothers and families across the country who experience the pain of losing a baby, and advocating for legislation that could reduce the number of U.S. stillbirths. Liz is also a Director of Awareness for PUSH for Empowered Pregnancy, a grassroots initiative that advocates for evidence-based, respectful, and equitable maternity care aimed at preventing loss when possible. Before her advocacy work, Liz was a dedicated D.C. Public Schools elementary math and science schoolteacher for 7 years.    Listen and Learn: What hospitals traditionally do when a baby is born still How it feels for one mom to leave the hospital with empty arms That some states give FMLA leave for the parents of loss, and some don't Why Liz created this package for other grieving moms What is in the Self Care Box and why many hospitals now give out the boxes How you can share the importance of post-loss care with your hospital or agency   Resources & Mentions: Aaliyah in Action Push for Empowered Pregnancy Count the Kicks Elizabeth O'Donnell - hello@aaliyahinaction.org   Related Products from InJoy: Guide to Grief and Healing After the Loss of Your Baby

When Aanandha Sharurajah moved to Singapore from Malaysia as a young man, he had only a few dollars in his pocket and big dreams to keep him going. Fast forward a few decades, and Aanandha found himself running one of the largest spas in Singapore bringing in $35 million a year. The only problem? His stress levels were through the roof. After a debilitating stress-related stroke left him paralyzed Aanandha realized he had to change the way he lived his life, but knew only one thing for certain: he would never give up.  Check out all of the podcasts in the HCI Podcast Network! My guest Bridgett Dunbar, holds a Master's Degree in marriage and family therapy, and is a Grief Counselor. She's served in the pastoral ministry, healing ministry and several other positions, all with the focus on helping people find healing and wholeness in Jesus. But when her personal life was flipped upside down by the loss of her precious son (at birth) would it be her professional training that helped her or her personal relationship with Christ? After having the chance to talk with her I see where both were very beneficial. To me, what I came away with (and granted this is just a small portion of her story), in and around the initial impact of such devastating pain it was her faith, her intimate relationship with Christ that enabled her to struggle well with the good God she professed in the context of suffering. And now, after having walked through that very personal valley of death Bridgett uses the revelations/the healing she experienced coupled with her professional skills. True to God's nature He wastes nothing and you'll hear that in this conversation and you'll see the fruit on her website bridgettdunbar.com. She offers various resources and services that give focus in helping others find their way through confusion, uncertainty, grief and loss. Along with those resources on her website you'll also see that one of the ways that she extends her hand and heart to others is through the book she authored, Grief, Loss and the Goodness of God - A Path to Healing After the Death of a Child. You can learn more about this book on her website. At the time of this episode going live in July of 2024, she's offering the download for free. There are many layers to Bridgett's personal story and you know me, I ask some bold questions of my guests, only because I truly desire to know how did the God of the Holy Bible meet them in their pain.  I genuinely want to know, does knowing, following, and serving God make a difference? I asked Bridgett, questions like, “What did you need to surrender to God in order to heal?” I asked, “After such a deep dive with God what is your personal discovery about the meaning of life?” And, “What did it do to you, what did it mean to come face-to-face with the fact that the good God you professed did not show up when you needed him?” Bridgett did not shy away from these tough questions and as I listened, there was a strong theme that kept coming up. It was the way she reminded me that grief makes us very vulnerable and in that vulnerability we are at war with the enemy. She lays out clear strategies in order to overcome each wave of grief and spiritual attack. You'll hear her say she's not denying reality but rather she's engaging it with truth. She shares that when we're pressed in on all sides, what we've been cultivating on the inside of us, in our heart, our mind, our emotions will come to the surface. Pain causes us to clash with our belief system. In that clash, that struggle to make sense of what we thought life was supposed to be and where we find ourself, which is faced with uncertainty about everything we thought, then we're challenged with what comes to the surface. Will it be fear, lack of faith, lie based thinking? It all comes to the surface. Our emotions that were grounded in experiences rather than truth are at question. Bridgett shares that when she engaged worship she experienced one of the most effective strategies in a spiritual battle. It's when we take the battle stance of worship that we engage the power of the Kingdom of God. It's such a simple engagement when you turn worship music on, begin to listen, begin to sing. No matter where we are in our grief/healing journey, it's immediately effective. It grounds us, invites the very presence of God, the joy (that is beyond our ability to comprehend/or create on our own) shows up. It gives us hope in a better tomorrow and lifts our gaze to God's promises for us. Let's listen in and hear all the beautiful ways that Bridgett points us to the heart of God and equips us to fight well in the midst of grief, pain, and suffering. Appreciating and Integrating Your Shadow Self

The Shadow is that part of us that rises from the unconscious. It is mysterious and unique to each individual. Carl Jung describes it this way: "The Shadow personifies everything that the subject (person) refuses to acknowledge about himself." "Those who have no conscious acquaintance with their shadow, project forgotten, forbidden disowned parts of themselves onto others in destructive ways." (From: Recovering and Healing After the Narcissist, Linda Martinez-Lewi, Ph.D., LMFT) There are many examples of individuals who have no conscious awareness of their Shadow. There are personalities who have a flat affect (little or no real emotion expressed). Others are studied, stilted who lack spontaneity and humor. You have aggressive personalities who demand constant attention, who find fault in others and are incapable of admiting that they are ever wrong. These are false selves that have been developed to conceal a real self that has been psychologically damaged. Our personal Shadow is revealed through dreams, fantasies, reveries and spontaneous writing. When we are open to these inner worlds we become receptive to the richness of the unconscious.  We continue to face our Shadows. For many the Shadow remains completely unrecognized by the conscious psyche of the individual. As human swe carry the inheritnce of our Shadow selves. This is not a curse but an incredible boon to those who seek wholeness and the promise and fulfillment of one's unique individuality. Becoming open to our dreams, reveries, meditations, offers a pathway to become acquainted and familiar with the Shadow.  Creativity is born through the Shadow. It comes forth in spontaneous writing, our dreams, in communion with Nature. It walks with us day and night---always beside whether we acknowledge its presence or not.  The Shadow is born in the heart of the unconscious, that mysterious territory and center of light and dark, a psychological chiascuro from which the masterpiece is created and spins into existence in its full glory.
