Unleashing The Power of L&D Through Governance With Noah Rabinowitz and Tom Kupetis

The Learning & Development Podcast

A governance structure in L&D is a move from implicit to explicit practices. It brings rigour and structure to decision-making practices that would otherwise be nebulous and ill-defined. It is a recognition that L&D is, fundamentally, a strategic function – equally critical for the organisation's growth and for its survival in turbulent times. But it doesn't exist in every L&D team.  In this episode, Noah and Tom break down why it is essential and how we, as L&D, get to grips with it.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Governance aligns L&D more closely with business objectives and ensures consistent, scalable impact. The decision on where the L&D budget is spent has to be made by the business so that the budget can be allocated to training that generates profit. Governance includes careful management of your key constituencies and relationships. Alignment, communication, consistency, planning, measurement, execution, tracking, and project management are all equally important. Ask yourself what does better look like? Properly define what you are aiming for. New technologies are not always better, be sure to properly assess them. Good governance is never 100% done, it is an ongoing process. Taking a “solid core, flexible edges” approach to governance works well for most organizations. Be brave. It´s worth a little bit of pain to make big gains.   BEST MOMENTS “Governance is about aligning learning to the strategic objectives and needs of the business… so that you can demonstrate the value of that learning function.” “You have to create consistency in the learner experience .” “AI is going to be a lightning rod.” “Shiny object syndrome  is the enemy of good governance.” “We not only define what governance is, but we define what's what it's not.”   Noah Rabinowitz Bio With 25+ years of experience in learning and leadership development, Noah has been Chief Learning Officer at Intel and Moderna and consulted globally with Korn Ferry and Deloitte. He specializes in innovative learning strategies, executive development, and large-scale digital upskilling programs, driving impactful results across industries. Tom Kupetis Bio Tom brings over 25 years of management consulting and learning solutions experience with Fortune 500 companies. As Executive Vice President at St. Charles Consulting Group, he oversees the firm's go-to-market strategy. In this episode, Dr. Evan M. Rabinowitz, the founder of the Yao Shan Center for Chinese Medicine in Washington, DC, joins us for a conversation about acupuncture for menopause symptom treatment relief, the importance of treatment for the individual, how the body is an ecosystem and how holistic & Eastern medicine focus on addressing and balancing the entire system rather than just a single problematic issue.Acupuncture as a medical practice has existed for thousands of years and it used to be the predominant healing practice, yet the Western world still sees it as “alternative medicine.” Eastern medical practice is more than just sticking needles and mixing herbs together. Underneath lies a worldview that all living things are connected and that everything has its own course and cycle. This perspective brings a holistic approach to health and medicine, recognizing that changes in one part of the body or the external environment can cause seemingly unrelated symptoms. Dr. Rabinowitz has been in clinical practice for over 25 years, is a professor at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, NC and a lecturer at Georgetown University School of Medicine's Integrative Medicine Program in Washington, DC. He's the former Director of Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), where he helped create the University's Masters and Doctorate programs in East Asian Medicine during his eight-year tenure. He also taught and supervised Chinese herbal medicine at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, FL. He is a graduate of the George Washington University (B.A.), Traditional Acupuncture Institute (M.Ac.) and Maryland University of Integrative Health (D.Ac.). Dr. Rabinowitz maintains an active teaching schedule, offering continuing education for practitioners online and in-person across the US and internationally.Dr. Rabinowitz's goal is to see each person as unique and whole, and offer to them individualized, compassionate care for both chronic and acute pain. He has specialty training in gynecology seeing a broad range conditions throughout the lifecycle, including painful or irregular periods, fibroids and cysts (including PCOS), endometriosis and menopause related issues. In this episode, Dr. Rabinowitz discusses:The history and definition of acupunctureEastern medicine's approach to and treatment options for menopauseUnderstanding menopause from a holistic, empowering perspectiveFinding and receiving individualized treatment by a qualified, licensed practitionerDr. Rabinowitz also shares an empowering perspective for women: since puberty, our bodies have been working to sustain and bring new life. With menopause, our body's energies and systems shift to sustain and nourish just our own life. This is an important and significant time for a woman, and there's a unique power that comes with it.Tune in to this enlightening episode to gain a deeper understanding of acupuncture and how Eastern medicine offers a holistic, empowering approach to managing menopause and overall health.Connect with Dr. Evan M. Feel free to shoot me a text! Do you have something on your mind? This is an easy way to connect. When the dawn breaks and the world is still silent, have you ever considered the profound simplicity of making a cup of coffee for someone you love? Our latest episode featuring the esteemed Harav HaGoin Rav Gamliel HaKohen Rubinovich from Yerushalayim's Zichron Moshe neighborhood isn't just about the rituals that bookend our days. It's a tapestry of reflections from a life steeped in Torah, Jewish law, Kabbalah, and most importantly, love and selflessness. Rav Gamliel, the Rashi Yeshiva of Yeshiva Shaar HaShemayim, shares his deeply personal journey of loss, love, and the insights that emerged from his decision to remarry soon after the passing of his Rebbetzin. His story is not just about moving forward; it's about embracing companionship and making each day count for those around us.We're often told that growth is an inside job, but how usually do we set aside time for this critical work? Rav Gamliel's approach, deeply rooted in the concept of tikkun amidus—repairing one's traits—illuminates the episode as we explore how we can all become more fitting vessels for wisdom. The sage's teachings encourage us to recognize the good in others, give generously, and find gratitude in the smallest gestures. Whether you're looking to deepen your spiritual path or simply aiming to make a subtle shift in your daily routine, let this episode remind you of the transformative power of nurturing the bonds you share with others and the beauty of a life lived in service to the hearts surrounding you.Support the Show.Join the WhatsApp community for daily motivational Torah content! The art and science of forecasting litigation outcomes just got a lot more sciencey. Years of immersion in complex business disputes is bound to shine a light on problems begging for solutions. In this case, our guest observed the laborious and ineffective slog that is trying to forecast how long a case will take, how much it might cost, which jurisdiction will treat it with kindness, or how a judge might rule on a motion for summary judgment. These are some of the critical questions our guest set out to address through the use of technology and assessment of massive data sets. He is Dan Rabinowitz, Co-Founder and CEO of  Pre/Dicta, a six-year-old company that provides litigation prediction and forecasting services.  Before Pre/Dicta, Dan was an attorney in Sidley Austin LLP's Supreme Court and Appellate Group and the firm's Mass Tort Litigation Group. Later, he served as trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, general counsel to a data science company, and associate general counsel, chief privacy officer, and  director of fraud analytics for WellPoint Military Care.Listen to what Dan has to say about how the power of technology is going to make predicting litigation as commonplace as predicting the weather. He also shares insights into a study Pre/Dicta conducted that tested assumptions about judges based on their political affiliations.  *******This podcast is the audio companion to the Journal of Emerging Issues in Litigation. The Journal is a collaborative project between HB Litigation Conferences and the vLex Fastcase legal research family, which includes Full Court Press, Law Street Media, and Docket Alarm. If you have comments, ideas, or wish to participate, please drop me a note at Editor@LitigationConferences.com.Tom HagyLitigation Enthusiast andHost of the Emerging Litigation PodcastHome Page

THE STORY OF JOSEPH - lesson 12 GOD WORKS ALL THINGS TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO BRING ABOUT HIS PURPOSES Joseph - the prototype of Jesus The TORAH (תּוֹרָה) - the first five books of the Bible - is often mistranslated by many as law.  In Hebrew, however, we find … The word "Torah" in Hebrew is derived from the root YERAH ירה, which in the hif'il conjugation means 'to guide' or 'to teach'. The meaning of the word is therefore "teaching", "doctrine", or "instruction"; the commonly accepted translation as "law" gives a wrong impression. (Rabinowitz, Louis; Harvey, Warren (2007). "Torah". In Berenbaum, Michael; Skolnik, Fred (eds.). Encyclopedia Judaica. Vol. 20 (2nd ed.). Detroit: Macmillan Reference. pp. 39–46) As we continue our study of the saga of Joseph we come to Gen. 42:1-5.  Jacob sons ten of his sons to Egypt to buy grain.  Joseph is about to confront his brothers again after what they did to him more than a decade before.  But, something is different.  We begin to see God's hand in restoring Joseph to his brothers and to his father, Jacob.  We begin to see God working all things together, no matter what the circumstances, for good so as His purposes and plans are established.  But, the Lord also is telling us, teaching us, in His TORAH (תּוֹרָה) – His books of teaching and instruction – that this is a prototype of something coming, the days of the Messiah.  For as Joseph is reunited with his brothers who rejected him, so too Jesus.  He too will be reunified with His brothers, all of Israel.  Paul got it.  Paul writes that one day all Israel will be saved, all Israel will be disciples of Yeshua.  So, no matter how bad things look or even if things are good, no matter.  God will use all things to work together for the good, for His ultimate purposes.  This is the lesson Yahvay (יהוה) our Lord is trying to get through to us in the saga of Joseph.  Check out the video (link below) that introduces us to this amazing connection between Joseph and Jesus.  What is so awesome is God inspired Moses to write about Joseph 3400 years ago.  Little did Moses know how his writing would help us today to see how God predicted His ultimate SAVIOR OF THE WORLD from the story of Joseph as the prototype.  Here's the link to the video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQKadh0fVCo Also, here's link to an awesome article at the website, "Hebrew4Christians."  I linked you to the pages at this website that also give even more awesome connections between Yosef and Yeshua.   Link - https://hebrew4christians.com/Articles/Mashiach_ben_Yosef/mashiach_ben_yosef.html Rev.
