The boys both dipped their toes into the performing arts world this week, John with poetry and Quinno with a play reading. But don't worry, there's plenty of craic for craic's sake on the show as well!

Vivian Imbruglia of Sacred Image Icons shares how she was drawn to attend Adoration during her lunch hour many years ago. As a Sacred Artist and Iconographer, Vivian is very careful about how she spends her time, including what she watches and listens to. She recognizes that she can't listen to worldly things if she going to try to create pieces of artwork reflective of Heaven Vivian is passionate about the motto of the Society of Jesus, Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (For the Greater Glory of God). Vivian hopes to glorify God in everything she does.

Natalie Imbruglia sits down with Kyle Meredith to discuss Firebird, her first album of new material in over a decade. The Australian-British singer-songwriter tells us about the writer's block that had her sidelined for the better part of the last decade, having a strong theme of independence on the record, and conjuring Bonnie Tyler and the 80s on "Maybe It's Great." Imbruglia also tells us about working with Albert Hammond Jr. and being a self-professed “uber fan” of The Strokes, and also using author Echkart Tolle as inspiration. Welcome to Season 2 of Bad Band Great Song! In this season's premiere episode, Andrew and Jerry address topics such as: spider-law, glacial brain development, the absurdity of differing opinions (lol), and how Billboard is basically a boomer. The boys also trace the trajectory of the song "Torn's" journey from one artist to the next. That's right... spoiler, in case you didn't know... but, Natalie Imbruglia is not the first person to perform "Torn". Join the boys as they detail the full history of the song "Torn" while also exploring Imbruglia's story, along with the other key players in this song's story. Punk Goes Pod has officially reached 100 episodes! In an episode that is the length of 100 episodes, Sam talks too much about Offspring frontman Dexter Holland, plus he has his citizenship revoked when he mishears a Kylie Minogue lyric, and we decide whether we should start a Rednex franchise. We also discuss the Russian nesting doll of a song that is "Torn" which was covered and performed by Natalie, and was later covered by Hands Like Houses for Punk Goes 90's Volume 2. We finish the episode by interviewing Hands Like Houses frontman Trenton Woodley to discuss the bands cover, the process of putting a cover up on one of the compilations, and how the last year has treated the band.

Laura Imbruglia: Live at The Bearded Lady, West End, 10 May 2019 Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Laura Imbruglia began on her path in music with the release of the witty, folky EP "It Makes A Crunchy Noise" in 2003. Since then her music has taken elements from many genres including alt-country, indie-pop, punk-rock and shoegaze, all the while retaining her particular dry sense of humour from her self-titled debut in 2006 to "The Lighter Side of..." in 2010 and "What A Treat" in 2013. Since then she has produced two seasons of the variety webseries Amateur Hour, featuring all manner of segments such as artist interviews, music, comedy skits and cooking tips. In late 2017 Imbruglia was selected for a Bundanon Trust songwriting residency in rural New South Wales, where she wrote the majority of what would become her fourth album, "Scared Of You". It was at the Brisbane launch of that album that this set was recorded. Sauropod Season 2 ends with what might be the most chaotic episode yet. Dr. Wriz leads us on an odyssey back into the womb of the 1990s, a decade many of us never wanted to leave in the first place. Dorm room walls will be betrayed, choruses will be delayed, whistling genres will be established, and 9/11 will be invoked several times without apology. Tell me all your thoughts on Gorky Park, then tell me what Gorky Park is. Happy Blocktober. Featuring Chelsea Doyle, Tom McCartan, Ali McLeod, James Ohngren, Finn Wrisley, and Justin Zeppa. Special guest Phil Thornalley who recorded the recently released Todd-centric album Astral Drive! Phil Thornalley has spent much of his career behind the scenes, writing songs and producing albums for other artists. His biggest commercial triumph, co-writing and producing the single "Torn" for Natalie Imbruglia, wasn't even sung by him. However, Thornalley does have experience underneath the spotlight. In 1983, Thornalley became the bass player for gothic rock pioneers the Cure after Simon Gallup left. Thornalley had previously co-produced the Cure's 1982 LP ography. Thornalley toured with the Cure while the band promoted The Top album, but his stay was short-lived, lasting only until the group's performance at the Beacon Theatre in New York on November 17, 1984. Gallup had returned to the Cure, causing Thornalley to leave. In 1987, Thornalley worked as an engineer for Johnny Hates Jazz's debut LP Turn Back the Clock; he also wrote the track "Listen." When vocalist Clark Datchler departed from Johnny Hates Jazz in 1988, Thornalley became the band's new lead singer. Thornalley also recorded a solo effort that year, Swamp. In 1991, Johnny Hates Jazz released Tall Stories with Thornalley on vocals. Despite having no dramatic shifts in style from Turn Back the Clock, the LP failed to sell. In 1995, Thornalley co-wrote the track "Torn" on Ednaswap's self-titled debut. Three years later, Thornalley produced Imbruglia's cover of "Torn," a worldwide smash.
We welcome another Neighbours cast member to the PirateNet Studios and it's actor BEN HALL, a.k.a Ned, a.k.a Natalie Imbruglia's fictional son, a.k.a, everybody's TV boyfriend and yes, we lost our tiny minds. In this gem of a bonus ep, Ben Hall talks Neighbours and Nedbours with CJ and Vaya for a delightful hour. Ben watched four of the week's episodes for us too (even though we only asked him to watch one!) so we even get stuck into the recent car crash and Dee skipping town eps. Ben also spills the beans on one hell of an abandoned storyline involving Ned and another character - prepare to be stunned. Vaya needed a moment. Anyway, stop reading this and listen to this ep three times. You will not regret.
