Jess went through a rare surgery called a rational plasty - a surgery where the middle part of the leg is removed and the lower leg is reattached at the thigh, but rotated 180 degrees. Her ankle joint now functions as the new knee joint. At just eight years old, an aggressive bone cancer threatened Jess Quinn's life. The cancer took more than just her leg, it robbed her of self-confidence, as a teenager she found herself tearfully asking "why me?" Despite huge challenges she became a finalist on New Zealand's "Dancing with the Stars".
