She started with a passion for cooking but now juggles many different responsibilities. What's your favourite business book that has helped you the most? Esther Rupenovic's favorite business book that has helped her the most is Winging It by Emma Isaacs. It was the first business book she read, and it resonated with her early in her journey. She also enjoys reading The E-Myth and has Shoe Dog by Phil Knight on her reading list. Are there any great podcasts or online learning resources you'd recommend to help grow a small business? Esther Rupenovic recommends three main podcasts that she listens to on repeat for growing a small business: Grow A Small Business by Troy Trewin, Hammersley Brothers E-commerce podcast, and Add to Cart by Nathan Bush. She highlights Add to Cart for its focus on e-commerce and its valuable insights for Shopify users. What tool or resource would you recommend to grow a small business? Esther Rupenovic recommends using Shopify POS (Point of Sale) linked with a Shopify store for growing a small business. She finds it extremely handy for tracking inventory, customer data, and creating loyalty systems. Additionally, she emphasizes the importance of using a detailed scorecard to track numbers daily, which provides valuable insights for business growth. What advice would you give yourself on day one of starting out in business? Esther Rupenovic would advise herself on day one to "just enjoy the ride" and dream bigger than initially imagined. Singer-songwriter and Sound bath healer Lisa Murdoch, uses her pain as her big message through her breathtakingly impactful songs. Lisa left her place at a highly sought-after music degree at Manchester university after feeling unaligned and generally out of saughts, then covid hit and before long her anxiety got worse, to the point she would no longer leave her house. Going through this painfully dark season would break most, but Lisa kept searching, learning, partying and surrounding she started to take night-time walks in the woods, and this is where her music came to her once again. Only this time so much had changed. Lisa has stepped into an unapologetic badass of the woods who loves to turn heads with her art. Lisa's energy I found like Kate Bush and Bork – sweet pure but make no mistake completely ahead of us all. I can't wait to see Lisa take over the charts with her gifts! Lisa's Takeaways 1. Follow zero people on your Instagram - you get to decide you you're exposed too 2. Surround yourself with different perspectives. 3. Spiritual awakenings aren't easy 4. Call your ‘breakdown a transformation but that's what it truly is 5. Getting quiet and going within is quite normal as there is a lot to process 6. Any shift like a breakdown, or anxiety to not leave the house can make us go into blame but that's the ego brain keeping us small, we have to be selfish at that point as it takes up all of the head space and we might not have articulated it. 7. Look at your ancestral roots it might be the connection and feeling of belonging you need for the permission of what you're naturally drawn to 8. Even though we are proud of our roots and authenticity, growing up but growing up we need to see people who reflect us. As it's in our survival makeup 9. Get to the woods Trees have so much for the senses not just visual either 10. A message from the heart goes straight through the heart 11. Words have power – we fear the word witch why aren't they afraid of the men who drowned the witches? Sophie Walker Australian Birth Stories Nearly 300,000 women give birth in Australia each year and one third of them describe their birth experience as traumatic.“I wish someone had told me!' is the most common phrase for women after they give birth for the first time.Sophie's ground-breaking new book The Complete Australian Guide to Pregnancy and Birth is out this month.Author of “Australian Birth Stories” Sophie is a mum of 3 with a Masters in Public Health. In 2017 Sophie Walker launched her business from the back of her Nissan X Trail. In 5 years it's grown to a million dollar empire. Since the podcast launched, it's had over 10 million total downloads (episodes now clock upwards of 30,000 downloads) and has shared over 350 women's birthing stories including Turia Pitt, Zoe Foster-Blake, Ash London, Steph Claire Smith and Emma Isaacs. It has a waitlist of 5000 women who want to share their stories. And, 146,000 mothers, mothers-to-be, and midwives now form Sophie's online community.Endorsed by the Australian College of Midwives, the podcast is nationally recognised as an education tool and is used as certified professional development for student midwives across Australia.Sophie's motivation comes from personal experience – her first birth was traumatic; a long labour and forceps-assisted birth resulted in a postpartum hemorrhage and pelvic floor trauma. When she fell pregnant for the second time, she was fiercely determined to do things differently. She listened to every birth podcast, watched every birth documentary, read every book and armed herself with birth skills. Her second birth was positive, empowering and redemptive and it became the first ever episode on the podcast. A new generation of mothers are desperate for stories of conception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and breastfeeding. After years of pandemic isolation and with one-third of Australian women describing their birth experience as traumatic, pregnant mothers and those trying to conceive are hungry for tips, tricks and first hand accounts of birth. They want to know how to prepare, what their options are and how they can navigate the challenge of labour with birth skills. And they want to learn from the wisdom of women's birth stories. For Sophie, education is the secret weapon against birth trauma. She believes every woman has the right to a positive birth experience.Deborah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/what.ive.learnt/Mind, Film and Publishing: https://www.mindfilmandpublishing.com/Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/what-ive-learnt/id153556330Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3TQjCspxcrSi4yw2YugxBkBuzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1365850
Daniel says 'the solution is as simple as the sun. How can you see the sun when your vision is clouded by fear, by doubt? and even though we know these clouds pass, we trudge and move through the haze, alternating somewhere between surrender and self-sabotage, until we catch a little glimmer of the sun. We are no different to this Sun, we rise we set even when it's clouded, we should trust this, it's been there the whole time.' Artist Daniel of 'This is Color me Crazy' is an extremely talented creator and a very funny spiritual guy who takes his precious life and being aligned so seriously, he left his life in New York to back to his homeland Porta Rico and now runs daily mediation meetups and he has the most amazing in retreat in Costa Rica coming up in March 2023! Daniel's Takeaways The old way of creating and doing business is old news – words don't teach, experience does Make your life. The movie you want to have and see You don't need great resources, you can create just with your phone All you need is you and your passion – that's more powerful than millions who don't have this energy. Passion is infectious Feeling abundant is not about being super rich 6. If you fail at something, try something else 7. Well come here wanting something, when the light is outs it's probably because you don't have that purpose 8. The truest conversation you will always have with yourself is the delta brain waves are – the subconscious rewire programming that happens when we are in between a dream and an awake mindset Sitting and enjoying the quiet is a calm powerful feeling you've set first for yourself If you're worried about something its either from your past or your future and it's just not needed or helpful Look at breath work it's everything Meditating should be easy, go on YouTube for meditating sounds and follow your breath Get out of your head and into your body We aren't ever going to fix our family or anyone We don't need to talk about the past and wear it as a heavy suit, talking about how bad we have had it The universe only understands energy and vibration not words Waiting for others to fix themselves is a fast route to being hurt and let down. Spend time fixing yourself A deliberate creator means We are programming all of the time, we can reprogram our body when we dance and have fun, we create more joy, its not about the looking good, its always about the feeling Links https://colormecrazy.info Costa Rico Retreat https://trips.trovatrip.com/trips/costa-rica-with-daniel-colon-apr-2023 Black Friday deals -Work with Emma Isaacs https://www.emmaisaacs.co.uk

Have you been convinced that the Law of Attraction works for everyone but YOU? You know what you SHOULD be doing, but feel like you're lying or worse still you feel shame because you're not thinking happy thoughts ALL OF THE TIME? There's an extremely toxic materialistic trend around manifestation at the minute. It can get frustrating when we can't manifest what we want, we try vision boards, visualisation technics, journaling and much more but don't realise that we can be actively blocking and worse - harming the attraction of our desires. So of course I thought its time to explain to you the real reason why... There is much more than ONE law of the universe. These 12 laws are based on quantum. When it comes to manifesting through the law of attraction people are unsuccessful because they completely abandon the 11 other universal laws! Check out my 4-week live interactive programme 'Sell with heart and Soul' Module one is a complete immersive deep dive into the 12 universal laws. https://www.emmaisaacs.co.uk/heart-and-soul

For a long time, we as women wanted it all. We wanted to work, have successful careers, build businesses, and run organizations. Yet we still dream of having a family and being present and hands-on parents. So can we really have it all, or do we have to sacrifice something? I've always been a working mother, and in my experience, we can have it all, but there's always a price to pay. I took a week off to focus on a big project. I'm writing a book and feeling a bit overwhelmed. Most of the time, it's tough to prioritize what we need. Sometimes we need to ask for help or some space to be creative. Other times, we need a total reset. In this episode, I have someone who's very good at juggling motherhood and managing multiple businesses without losing her sanity. Ashleigh Goodchild leads the #1 Property Management Team for South Perth & Como. She loves teaching and inspiring others within the industry by connecting and sharing her knowledge freely through her podcast, PM Collective. Join us today as we talk about Starting a Property Management Business as a Mum. “I like to refer to life and work as a bit of tilt as opposed to a balance.” - Ashleigh Goodchild In This Episode: - Meet Ashleigh Goodchild, Property Management Leader, Podcast Host, and a Mum - How do you run multiple businesses, juggle a family and keep your sanity? Ashleigh shares her “secrets.” - Ashleigh's advice to women who are thinking about starting a business but have a young family to take care of - How to ask for help when needed - What is the PM Collective all about? - What are the challenges faced by Property Mums? - The importance of communication at home and at work - Ashleigh recommends reading the book, http://thenewhustle.businesschicks.com/ (The New Hustle by Emma Isaacs). Emma Isaacs is the founder of Business Chicks, one of Australia’s best-known entrepreneurs, author of two books, mother to six children - and yet she refuses to call herself busy. On the back of the pandemic, Emma believes ‘the hustle’ as we know it is dead. In her forties, she’s all about a new hustle - one that condemns the work-more/sleep-less trope, and instead celebrates the power of calm. In our chat, Emma also gets honest about her money story - like the time her credit card declined on her son’s birthday, how AirBNB’ing the family home saved her financial bacon, and why a very public business failure made her hibernate for six months and question everything. So, what if we’ve been served a big, fat lie about what success should look like at work, and in our forties? We find out in FORTY. When I say #yaysofourlives has a looser structure than our OG interviews, I took it to all new levels today chatting for probably half an hour before I asked the first question. But, with the inimitable Emma Isaacs jumping back on the show who I haven't seen forever AND who has written her second, brand new book with SO MUCH painfully relevant content to cover, I'm surprised I even got to my questions at all! If you haven't heard Emma's backstory yet, head back to episode 11 to hear how she has blazed a trail for female entrepreneurs (and all entrepreneurs for that matter) since the age of 18 leading her to become the founder and global CEO of Business Chicks. If you follow me at all, you'll know what a huge impact Emma and her team have had on me both professionally and in all areas of who I am as a person and I'll forever be indebted for the opportunities and connections they have made possible in my life (including the fact that Emma had faith enough in Seize the Yay to jump on the show just 11 episode in). In this chat, we just have a good old catch up with bursts of me gushing about her brilliant second book, The New Hustle, in between. You'll probably tell that once I get started, I keep linking idea after idea making my way through almost the whole book before realising I haven't even asked about quote of the yay – but that's why it's such a timely read with 77 amazing messages about navigating times of challenge and change. Emma is one of the women I look up to most in the world and to have her in your ears at a time like this is so invaluable, so I hope you enjoy and take as much out of her as I do. She is at once impeccably professional and wise as well as a totally open book about parenting six kids or having breakdowns on the daily – the relatable content we all need to hear. Facebook Groups can be notoriously hard to manage. They can be such a powerful tool to engage with your community and provide a really valuable brand touchpoint, however they can be a lot of work. This is an area where I personally have struggled, so I went on the hunt for someone who was doing it well and who would be willing to share any hot tips! Found her! Rebecca Bodman (aka Bods) has worked at Business Chicks for ten years and is the Head of Community Engagement. There are many amazing feathers to Bods cap, but one of her amazing feats at Business Chicks is the management of their community 23.4k strong Facebook Group. So in this ep, Bods talks about how they use their Facebook Group successfully as an extension of their incredible brand. I learnt so much from this interview and I think you will too. Today's is a guest who I count as one of my favourite speakers of all time who I was lucky enough to hear from on Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island during our incredible trip with Business Chicks. I have been hoping to share her infectious enthusiasm, energetic storytelling and MIND-BLOWING story since that moment two years ago and am SO excited to finally share her with you now. It's probably no surprise that Diana Nyad ended up as a marathon swimmer given that her surname means water nymph in Greek mythology (which I know because it was the name of one of my high school houses). With many achievements in competitive swimming over her lifetime, it was an idea that hit her at 9 years old to swim from Cuba to Florida that never left her. Starting from 2010, Diana began the journey to swim of over 50 hours through freezing, shark and jellyfish infested waters making not one but FIVE attempts before successfully covering the 180km and get this… at 64 YEARS OLD. As Hilary Clinton puts it perfectly, when you're facing big challenges in your life you can think about Diana and nearly anything else seems doable by comparison. Before we jump in, I just wanted to throw a very big shout out to Emma Isaacs and the Business Chicks team again for continually creating invaluable, unforgettable experiences for so many of us and making some of the world's most fascinating and inspiring people accessible like Diana to its members. If you aren't already a member, I can't recommend anything more highly for seizing your yay so SIGN UP HERE. As a treat to ease into 2021, we're kicking off with a throwback episode - throwing all the way back to Episode 5! I'm excited to revisit my chat with Emma Isaacs, the founder and global CEO of Business Chicks and author of Winging It. If you're new to the podcast, you're in for a treat; and if you've been on the journey since Episode 5, you'll enjoy revisiting the many gems in this episode. Emma is passionate about encouraging women to be bold, courageous and to take risks. And she practices what she preaches: she founded a recruitment business at just 18 years of age; she founded and grew Business Chicks into Australia's largest and most influential community for women; and in 2016 she packed up her young family of 5 kids (now 6!) to set up Business Chicks USA in California. Her story is an inspiring one! Happy New Year! Tristan ___ Order a FREE copy of the Culture Is Everything book at: tristanwhite.com.au/culture-is-everything/

Today we're speaking with Emma Issacs, CEO of Business Chicks and author of the best-selling biographical guide to business, Winging It. Having no plan is often the best plan of all. As an entrepreneur looking to scale and grow a successful business, this statement might seem a little shocking, right? Well, what if I told you that “winging it” and taking action beats a well-laid plan every single time? That's exactly what my guest has done in her 20+ year career: she's mastered the art of stepping into uncertainty with confidence and has learned to figure things out as she goes. Today I am talking with Emma Isaacs, founder and global CEO of Business Chicks and author of her new book, “Winging It.” Emma has made it her business to study what makes successful people successful, and she's here to share her incredible insight on how entrepreneurs can start, build, and scale thriving companies through the art of winging it. In this episode, Emma and I talk about finding the courage to start new things, why we shouldn't attach ourselves to a specific outcome, and the importance of trusting our gut decisions (and how this tactic worked out for her). We'll also discuss why taking action is the key to everything and how to stop planning, make a decision, move forward, and learn from it. In this episode, we cover… Why action beats planning every time Why we're conditioned to expect a right or a wrong way to do things The three biggest mistakes she sees entrepreneurs make How mindset plays into winging it Why having no plan is a good plan ”I'm all for a to-do list. I'm all for goal setting. I'm all for planning and having a big vision for your life. But it shouldn't be at the expense of getting into action and actually getting on and starting something.” - Emma Isaacs Thanks for listening, and if you like what you've heard, feel free to share this episode with your friends! At 18 years old, she owned a business. A year later, she became a property investor, and by the time she turned 23, Emma Isaacs was a self-made millionaire. But when she stepped into leading the Australian-based organization Business Chicks, that's when she also truly stepped into her purpose. On today's Glambition Radio, you'll learn how Emma reluctantly attended a Business Chicks meeting years ago (she initially couldn't stand the name) and then purchased this small women's business community on a whim. The post Emma Isaacs, Founder of Business Chicks — Glambition® Radio Episode 230 with Ali Brown appeared first on Ali Brown.
So often, we feel the need to have all the answers. For Emma Isaacs, however, sometimes all it takes is to wing it and trust in ourselves and take bold steps forward into what we want to create. Emma is an Australian entrepreneur and the owner and Global CEO of Business Chicks, Australia's business women's community. She sits down with Katherine Twells today to talk about the concepts from her brand new book called Winging It and how she's had to pivot and do some different things to thrive during a really challenging year.Love the show?
