On today's show we chat to Michelle Battersby, co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer at Sunroom – a creator app for women and non-binary creators to make money, share content freely, and connect intimately with their communities. At the age of 22, and after getting her start as a Human Resources Manager, Michelle started seeking out something more purpose-led. A few years later in November of 2019, Michelle took on the role of Chief Marketing Officer at the fast-growing health and wellness app Keep It Cleaner, where she led the team to implement a brand relaunch in the middle of 2020, which included a complete rebuild of the KIC app. Michelle's career has been at the forefront of technology, marketing and consumer-led brands and we feel grateful to pick her brain and then share it with YOU. – Michelle is reading The Iron Flame which is an escape for her. Stephanie Miller, known online as Steph Claire Smith, is the COO and co-founder of Australian health and wellness app, Keep It Cleaner (KIC).From Melbourne Australia, Steph started her career modelling at aged 7. After moving to America to pursue modelling as a career, Steph was exposed to the extremely toxic side of the industry, which led to disordered eating, negative body image and an unhealthy relationship with exercise. She was told to start smoking as it's a good suppressant for feeling hungry, the best fruit to eat were apples as they fill you up the most, and if you need energy have a black coffee or a diet coke. Realising that living like this was massively impacting both her physical and mental health, Steph moved back to Australia, where she met her business partner Laura. In 2015, Steph and Laura launched their first E-book ‘Keep It Cleaner'. They saw a gap in the market that was filled with a lot of fad diets, quick fixes and guilt around food. They wanted to take it back to basics and create a programme that makes you feel good and celebrate how a healthy lifestyle can be varied for everyone. Fast forward several years, and they've launched a KIC subscription platform filled with recipes and workouts, and have their own line of over 80 health food products stocked in supermarkets across Australia. Alongside her businesses, Steph also co-hosts the KIC podcast and in May 2021 gave birth to her beautiful son, Harvey. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Lovely yayborhood, I am SO excited about today's episode. You've probably heard me say before that one of the coolest parts of having a podcast is having audio evidence of how you felt at a particular point in your life to look back on, but being able to do that with our guests as well when they return for a reunion is even more special. Today, after nearly FOUR YEARS since we first recorded, the incredible Laura Henshaw and Steph Smith jumped on again to celebrate the second round of their Keep It Cleaner Tour (which I'm so thrilled to be MCing again). When we first recorded in December 2018, Keep It Cleaner had just started, so catching up on how far the girls and both of our communities have come was the greatest! I got to meet some of you at the first stop in Adelaide last weekend and I can't say how much it meant to be hugging in person again and hopefully there'll be some more of you in Auckland then Perth. Also I'm so sorry to anyone here who hasn't been able to listen on Apple Podcasts for the past two or so episodes - we're working through that glitch and hopefully it'll be fixed shortly. I hope your October is off to a wonderful start, and that this helps you KIC off with a solid dose of yay! Welcome back to the show, Steph and Laura… GET TICKETS TO KICTOUR + Announcements on Insta at @spoonful_of_sarah + Join our Facebook community here + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of YAY!
I am so excited to bring you this episode, firstly it's weird how the universe works. I used to watch Steph when I was in high school! Now, I had the honour of interviewing her all about her journey through the modelling industry, loving your body, fitness, starting a business and becoming a mother! I know you will all absolutely love this episode. Thank you Steph! https://keepitcleaner.com/ @stephclairesmith
Hey everyone, welcome to another episode. Today's ep brings us the 2nd of the legends behind Keep it Cleaner, the health & wellness community & app, our guests is the the partner-in-pilates to Steph Claire Smith & CEO of their hugely successful business - Laura Henshaw. Laura is an author, speaker, podcast host and even snuck a law degree in there somehow! She's an incredibly driven person and in the chat you'll hear how self-aware she is, though it took some work which we she dives into as well.I think this is an important chat to hear about the difficulty of life with a public persona. It is a reality of what Laura & Steph have created but it doesn't make it an easy thing to deal with, Laura talks through some of her experiences with this and ho hard it is to see past it when it's happening to you.Big thanks to the KIC team for having us, big love to Laura for joining us and huge shout out to Cozette our social media & marketing manager jumping behind the mic and joining the interview! Glad we get the chance to show off our superstar behind the scenes, you're a champion Cozzy. MOW.

Today our conversation is with Steph Claire Smith! Model, Brand Ambassador, Podcast host & founder of the health & wellness community Keep It Cleaner... Steph is already flat chat and with her little 10 month old legend Harvey in tow, we are extremely grateful she was able to join us for a conversation!! Steph has an incredible demeanour and a great attitude towards health & fitness. the KIC community is all about getting healthy but with the foundation of positive body & mind relationships - that is making sure the exercise & the effort we are putting in is bringing joy to your lives rather than fulfilling some less meaningful, superficial goal. We are very grateful to SCS for sharing the way she did in this chat, talking about pressure in the modelling industry early on in her career & the negative relationships it fostered with her health & body, through to finding a much better balance & devoting her work to promoting that with her best mate Laura with Keep It Cleaner. We are so grateful to Steph and the KIC team for getting this one together & can't recommend the KIC app highly enough! Liam & I tried a couple workouts & oh boy... talk about a booty burn!! Enjoy the chat! MOW.

We are back and boy do we have the episode to begin season five with a BANG!One of the most requested weddings we have ever had - today we chat to the incredible Steph Miller - wife, new mamma, model and co-founder of Keep It Cleaner, the world wide phenomenon that takes a holistic approach to wellness and delivers a happy + healthier relationship with your lifestyle, fitness and nutrition - designed for everybody and every body. Steph and Josh are more than high school sweethearts - these two cuties met almost 15 years ago, with Steph taking horse riding lessons with Josh's sister - who, like her, was in the area as her family had purchased a holiday property on the Murray for the summers to come.Falling madly in love at first sight, Steph and Josh waded through the young years, navigated a long distance relationship, careers and travel - all for Josh to round out the time together by proposing back where it all started, at his family farm on the Murray River.Steph and Josh opted for a late Spring/early Summer wedding, knowing they wanted the picturesque views and the warm balmy weather but also wanted this celebration to be the kick-starter for the remaining summer festivities! Steph worked with the surrounds of the grounds to help dictate colour palette and styling vibes, and chose to incorporate the colours into their dress code for guests - making for an incredible vision. Slipping into her second dress for the evening for her first dance, Steph and Josh created life long memories with their friends and family dancing under the moonlight, well into the early hours of the morning.TODAYS EPISODE PARTNERKeep it Cleaner was founded by today's special guest Steph Claire Smith and Business partner + long-time friend Laura Henshaw.KIC as it is affectionally known for, is for everybody and every body. Our first guest! For this episode we invited all-round angel and co-founder of health & fitness app Keep It Cleaner, Laura Henshaw, on for a chat. If anyone's life looks perfect, it's Steph's. However, as she bravely details in this fascinating chat with Hugh, we shouldn't always believe what we see on Instagram. This one's been a little delayed after a technical glitch destroyed our first recording, but the second time around was even bigger and better PLUS conveniently timed after both Steph and Laura's partners proposed!!!!!! If you haven't heard of this dynamic duo, Steph and Laura are passionate advocates for instilling confidence in young women and are helping thousands of girls around the world with their booming business, Keep It Cleaner, that has a fitness and nutrition app, a delicious grocery range, an inspiring blog and community events throughout the year. Both starting out as successful international models, Steph and Laura have openly shared their experiences and challenges in the modelling industry, finding body confidence, navigating their relationship with food and building resilience to inspire other young women on their journey. If that weren't enough, Steph also co-owns Soda Shades and Midnight Co as well as continuing her career as a sought after model and brand ambassador for the likes of Bondi Sands, Bras N Things, and more leveraging her 1 million+ followers. Laura is also completing her Law/Business degree (just casually) and has some epic brand ambassadorships of her own, particularly as face of Jaggad activewear. Still only in their early 20s, they have both been incredibly smart about their success and also own houses and, as mentioned, are now planning for their weddings! They've also just released their first book, A Girl's Guide to Kicking Goals, which shows how down to earth and real they both are and shares such important messages about confidence, positivity and balance. LOVED chatting with these two so much that we went over an hour and a half, so consider it a little festive bonus! + Full show notes here + Announcements on Insta at @spoonful_of_sarah + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of YAY!
