Join me, your host, Pipeman, on The Adventures of Pipeman, as I sit down with the dynamic duo, Jackson Wetherbee and Nick Asta from The Elovaters, and get an inside scoop on their musical escapades. Listen in as we explore the pulsating music scene and the thrill of artist collaborations, with names like Little Stranger & Stick Figure making waves in our discussion. We also chat about the unique blend of surf shop culture and music at the Levitate Music Festival, right in their Massachusetts backyard, where the idea of combining surf competitions with live tunes sparks some serious excitement. In another vibrant segment, the conversation takes a playful turn with talk of birthday celebrations and moonwalk drumline performances. Hear about the behind-the-scenes antics and the pivotal role our tour manager, Braden, plays in our shenanigans, especially as we gear up for an electrifying performance. With a birthday festival atmosphere in the air, we share our gratitude for the adventures and the joy of bringing our music to stages from West Palm Beach to international destinations, always chasing that 'endless summer' of live shows. iTunes Spotify Youtube Patreon Erich Miller is the FOH Engineer for Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, currently based out of South Philly. He’s a graduate of The University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a degree in Jazz Trumpet performance and a minor in Music Technology. Erich was first introduced to music at the age of five when his parents bought an upright piano and started taking him to piano lessons. A few years later, he discovered the trumpet, and a path was set that led him to pursue music in college. After deciding that playing the trumpet professionally would not in fact be his destiny, Erich began his transition into being a freelance audio engineer. While working full time at a local production company as an audio engineer, he started working at a handful of other small local clubs until finally settling at The Ardmore Music Hall. It was there that he first met Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and after running sound for a few of their shows at Ardmore, the band asked if he was interested in coming on the road. He took the gig, and three years later, he and the band are bringing their infectious brand of Funk to audience’s world wide. iTunes Spotify Youtube Patreon Brian Rashap is a Production Manager, Tour Manager, bass tech and bass player, currently handling PM and Tech duties for Phil Lesh, as well as playing bass in the Mother Hips. A musician since his formative years in Southern California, it was a last minute jam with the bass that forever changed Brian’s focus from guitar to bass. Even though Brian was influenced by a wide range of artists as he came into his own as a player, the music of the Grateful Dead was always a constant staple, as was a popular band that blossomed onto the scene in the ‘90’s, The Mother Hips. It’s not lost on Brian how the mysteries of life’s winding roads have now led him to be at the epicenter of the very groups he once listened to obsessively. Perhaps my favorite part of his story though, is a life transition that occurred several years ago, when the stars conspired to change his course, and set him squarely on his destiny. I caught-up with Brian via Skype from his home in Santa Rosa, CA, where he narrowly escaped the wildfires that ravaged so much of the area.
