A new kind of exercise idea is becoming popular in the United States. Social media is bringing attention to “cozy cardio.” It means doing light cardiovascular exercise at home. Physical inactivity is a problem in the United States. The most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says 25 percent of Americans reported they had not done any physical activity in the past month. The CDC says that one in two American adults do not get enough cardiovascular exercise. Inactivity can have serious health effects. So, many Americans are looking to develop a new exercise habit. “Cozy cardio” has gained popularity as an easy and painless way to increase physical activity levels. This method of calorie burning has gained popularity on TikTok and Instagram ever since a woman named Hope Zuckerbrow began posting videos in late 2022.“舒适的有氧运动”已成为提高体育锻炼水平的一种简单且无痛的方式。 Cozy cardio involves walking in place by using a small treadmill or “walking pad.” No gym payments are involved. “I get so many messages from men and women – so many people – saying something along the lines of ‘thank you so much for…flipping my mindset on what I thought exercise is supposed to be,'” Zuckerbrow said. “This feels so doable.”Zuckerbrow说:“我从男人和女人那里收到了很多信息 - 很多人 - 在‘非常感谢您的心中说话……在我认为锻炼应该是的事情上倾听我的心态。'” “这真是太可行了。”Supporters say what is important about “cozy cardio” is the setup. You wear comfortable clothes and organize your environment to your liking. You can light candles, have a healthy drink, or even put on a favorite TV show or movie. Alex Montoye of Alma College said, for some people, easy exercise such as “cozy cardio” could help them develop an exercise habit. Montoye said for people who would otherwise watch TV while sitting, walking can help them make progress. That is especially true if exercise becomes a habit. People struggle to make healthy habits last over time. That is why cozy exercise is such a good idea, said Catherine Sanderson of Amherst College in Massachusetts. She wrote the health book, The Positive Shift: Mastering Mindset to Improve Happiness, Health, and Longevity. “It fits in with a lot of what we know about how to get people to actually maintain behavior change,” Sanderson said. Along with removing the barriers to exercise, she said, “It very much relies on what psychologists would call positive reinforcement — the idea of, 'It's not just that I'm exercising…I'm tapping into something I want to be doing already.” As cozy cardio becomes more popular, Zuckerbrow said she hears from people who did not realize they could enjoy easy exercise. Alyssa Royse, owner of Rocket Community Fitness in Seattle, has been mixing workouts at her gym and cozy exercise at home. Some days she turns off the sound on her Peloton exercise bicycle and watches TV because it takes her “brain somewhere else.” “Too many people look at exercise as an all-or-nothing thing,” Royse said. “It doesn't give people room to just be where they are today. And I think that's incredibly important.”

The practice of law has evolved a lot in the three decades since I graduated from law school. Technology has replace many monotonous functions and computers have replaced paper. The internet has revolutionized how legal research is done and how law firms market themselves. It has enabled remote work and interaction in a way that was unimaginable in the 1980s. At the same time, there are some fundamental things that have not changed. The practice of law is still a service business that requires a lot of human interaction. Law firms are still challenging places to work. Clients can be demanding, the stakes can be high, and the billable hour can create unwanted incentives. In addition, lawyers like their autonomy. Managing a group of lawyers is not for the faint of heart and takes a skill set that is very different than the skill set needed to practice law. So what do you need to know to be an effective law firm leader? How can you inspire partners, associates, paralegals, and administrative staff to give it their all? Kristi Royse joins me in this episode to answer those questions. Kristi Royse is the CEO of KLR Consulting. She is a nationally recognized speaker, facilitator, management consultant, executive coach, and trainer. Since 1987, Kristi has been coaching executives to be stronger leaders and helping organizations optimize their most vital resource - their people. Kristi works with law firms and other organizations to help their leaders build the skills they need to thrive in rapidly changing circumstances. She helps leaders, teams, and leaders-to-be tap their potential, improve their leadership abilities, and strategically shift their perspective.

I'm your host, Christian Klepp, and one of the founders of EINBLICK Consulting. Our goal is to share inspirational stories, tips and insights from b2b marketers, digital entrepreneurs, and industry experts that will help you to think differently, succeed and scale your business.Welcome everyone to this episode of the B2B Marketers on a Mission podcast where you get your weekly dose of b2b marketing insights. This is your host, Christian Klepp. And today, I'd like to welcome a guest onto the show, who is a senior marketing leader with 20 years of marketing and communications experience. His areas of expertise cover several facets of the marketing spectrum. And he's also a Duke University teacher and professional speaker for digital and social selling. I mean, I could go on and on, but I'd rather leave it to him to tell us more.So Mr. Matthew Royse, welcome to the show, sir.Matthew Royse 01:01Thank you appreciate being here.Christian Klepp 01:03All right, Matthew, I really enjoyed our, you know, the discussions that we had in the pre interview call, and I'm really looking forward to this conversation. So why don't we just get started? So one of the things that, you know, we discussed during the pre-interview call, Matthew, was like, you know, that you developed your expertise, you built your career around a very, I would say, is a very important area. It's a b2b content marketing. Right? So, talk to us about what you believe is required in order for organizations to be able to successfully implement a b2b content marketing strategy.Matthew Royse 01:36Yeah, so, yeah, this is a topic near and dear to me. And I work for a b2b technology company, I've been in the tech space 12 years and wholeheartedly believe that content marketing is the foundation of a good digital marketing strategy and an overall marketing strategy. So to be successful in b2b content marketing, you really need to take that media or journalistic mindset. And you have to think like the traditional media, the traditional TV, industry publications, mainstream media publications, become a media company yourself. And how do you do that? You really do that by answering the questions that people are asking the most. So going into Google and figuring out what questions people are asking on Google and then answering that, and not only answering it, but answering it 10 times better than anybody else.
Today we're talking to Alyssa Royse, owner and coach at Rocket Community Fitness — formerly Rocket CrossFit — in Seattle. Today’s episode is a bit different from the norm, and Alyssa joins us to talk about a variety of issues regarding representation, diversity, and inclusivity in fitness. Some listeners may be familiar with Alyssa’s name after an exchange she had with CrossFit founder and former owner Greg Glassman went viral in June 2020. Alyssa had written to Glassman expressing concern over CrossFit’s silence regarding the death of George Floyd’s death and the Black Lives Matter movement. Glassman responded with a now-infamous letter calling Royse “delusional” and saying he was ashamed of her comments. Glassman’s letter — and later tweets and Zoom recordings — stirred immense controversy, eventually leading to his resignation and the ultimate sale of CrossFit.Alyssa’s perspective extends well beyond her experience from last summer. She’s a long time coach and business owner in fitness, working across multiple sports. In this recording, she gives her perspective on the responsibilities of multiple stakeholders in strength — from business owners and brands to athletes, coaches, and fans following along at home. We should say it’s a deep conversation that focuses on subjects that could be sensitive to some listeners.
The recipe to Royse includes, a cup of country, a teaspoon of soul, a dash of pop topped with a little bit of everything! Royse joins Benny on Nashville's Next to share her new single "Ride The Bull" along with her story of how she came into her own and her vision on the future of country music!
Alyssa is the owner of Rocket Community Fitness in Seattle, a social justice-oriented fitness community that prides itself on its inclusivity. As a supporter of both the CrossFit methodology and the communities it cultivates, found herself at the forefront of CrossFit’s leadership upheaval this summer when an email exchange between her and former CrossFit CEO Greg Glassman garnered media attention.

Welcome to Royse City, "a friendly touch of Texas!" Located in Northeast Texas 33 miles from Dallas, Royse City was first developed around 1885 by Byrd Royse. Royse was instrumental in getting the MK & T Railroad brought through the city, and reportedly cut a deal with the railroad to have the town named Royse City in exchange for donating the land for the train station. Royse City is primarily a bedroom community, but also has several interesting attractions such as the Old Jail Park in downtown. Royse City was home to Glen Payne, the lead singer of The Cathedral Quartet, and baseball players Gus Ketchum and Taylor Hearn. The most recent excitement in town was the addition of a Buc-ee's, a popular travel center chain, along the highway. While this might not sound too exciting, that means there is now an endless supply of Beaver Nuggets in town! What's a Beaver Nugget? Tune in and find out!

Alyssa Royse and her husband Brady Collins own Rocket CrossFit in Seattle. When she’s not in the gym, she’s helping other gyms and fitness brands around the country foster inclusivity in their approach to fitness. Prior to owning a gym, Alyssa worked as a trained sex-educator, and had years of experience in marketing and entrepreneurship. She thought owning a gym would be easier. Turns out, it’s the perfect mix of all of her previous experiences, and is definitely not the “chill” time she thought it would be. According to a United Nations study by the year 2050, the world’s population will reach 9.1 billion which is 34 percent higher than today. In order to feed this larger, more urban, and richer population, food production must increase by 70 percent. So the question is given the limits of available farmland and water resources, how are we going to meet this increase in food demand? Agtech Sector Perspective from Roger Royse, Founder Royse Law Firm: Agtech is not just a movement it’s a revolution. We’ve had an industrial revolution we had an information revolution learn an agricultural revolution right now and as agriculture becomes a tech-enabled business and we’re seeing that come up in a lot of different areas robotics artificial intelligent controlled environment soil health as we were talking about earlier. So the thing that’s been driving all that. Are a couple of things in my world here in Silicon Valley. It’s really been the fact that the venture community woke up to this like I say about six or seven or maybe eight years ago and started investing heavily in this. On Vertical Farming, Sonia Lo, CEO of Crop One Holdings Vertical farming is as the name implies a stacked shelving system generally within an enclosed space with artificial lighting but probably the simpler way to think about vertical farming is that it is the transfer of electrons to calories or the storage of electrons to calories because energy is the single largest input and what that really implies is that for the first time ever really agriculture can be segregated from climate and geography. And so anywhere you can generate an electron you can grow food. This type of vertical farming, that’s very dense, that can be liberated from climate and geography is something that’s a relatively recent phenomenon in the last six to seven years. And that’s been enabled by the advent of cheap LCD lighting and cheap sensors. The unit economics of indoor growing of food has really been enabled by the cost decline and those two input technologies.

It never occured to me that I might be gay, until I was 22 years old (later my therapist made me dig down deep and I had an "ohhhhhhhhh" moment when I realized that all throughout high school, I was more into Lana Lang than Clark Kent on Smallville. So I guess I knew before. More on that in a future episode). Julie asked me one night if I wanted to bang and that was it for me. I was turned. Julie is a fellow Denver native with an undeniable swagger and attention grabbing charm. In this episode we discuss the highs and lows of our relationship. My first gay relationship. Highs like sweet gifts and constant laughter. Lows like Julie faking her orgasms. This is a good one. Very funny. Have a listen.
Dave Balzer and Pat Toner had the privilage of sitting down with Guy Royse at DogFoodCon 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. Guy works for Nexosis in Columbus, Ohio as a Developer Evangelist. Combining his decades of experience in building software with a history of sharing what he has learned, Guy goes out into developer communities and teaches others how to use the Nexosis API. Guy has programmed in numerous languages over the years—many of them semicolon delimited—including C++, C#, and Java. More recently he has worked with dynamic and more functional languages like JavaScript and Ruby. Teaching and community have long been a focus for Guy. He is President of the Columbus JavaScript Usergroup and has been part of the session selection committee for CodeMash for the last five years. When given an opportunity, he teaches programming at a prison in central Ohio. In past lives, Guy has worked as a consultant in a broad range of industries including healthcare, retail, and utilities. He spent several years as a consultant for Pillar Technology and several more years working for a major insurance provider. This has given him a broad view of technology application and business problems. In his personal life, Guy is a hardboiled-geek interested in role-playing games, science fiction, and technology. He also has a slightly less geeky interest in history and linguistics. He lives in central Ohio with his wife and three sons. In his spare time, he is a leader in his neighborhood Cub Scout Pack and goes camping a lot.
