Life is filled with broken roads. Sometimes we can be in circumstances that seem impossible and you may even find yourself in search of hope and may ask, “Where is God when life is taking you down a broken road?”  Jenny is talking with Actress, Producer & Author, Jill Holder and Actor Brandon Sullivan. They are actors in the movie, “Broken Road” which carries a message of hope and forgiveness. It's a fun show with lots of behind the scenes stories and laughs as well as they give us a glimpse of the story.  “We are all broken and on a path for our whole life. It's a journey and none of us get it right all the time and that's why we need Jesus!”- Jill Holder. God continues to pursue us and when we surrender to His will, he blesses our “broken road” - that leads us straight to Him.  You may even recognize a few Knoxville Actors and locations!  KnoxCAM's BROKEN ROAD Premiers Thursday, January 30th at Regal Pinnacle Theater - 11240 Parkside Drive. Is something holding you back from achieving your dreams?  Maybe, you're being held back by negative people, or perhaps by self-defeating thoughts in your own mind. If that's the case, then things are about to change. It's time to kick the negativity out of your mind and become the most powerful and loving person you can possibly be. On our Love University podcast, we recently had the pleasure of meeting up with Sean Kanan, star of Cobra Kai and the iconic Karate Kid franchise. Aside from being an award-winning producer and consummate actor (Young and the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful), Sean has written self-empowerment books (wayofthecobra.com) and dedicated his life to showing students how to overcome obstacles and reach their dreams. Here is some of the wisdom we learned from this special interview with Sean: *Be a Cobra. A Cobra is someone who is authentic, self-aware, empathetic, strong, and humble. They epitomize a blend of paradoxical characteristics that make them a Compassionate Warrior. They're ready to fight to defend their principles and protect others from harm, while at the same time being compassionate, loving, and empathetic. Like the Mike Barnes character in the current Cobra Kai series, season 6, the Cobra can offer tough love and discipline, while also being an inspiring mentor to help others grow. *Never compromise your character.  Sean tells us that reputation is what others say about you; character is what you say about yourself, and what you do when no one is around to watch you.  Guard your character with everything you have; it is the essence of who you are, your authenticity, your inner power.  With it, you can conquer the world; without it, the world will conquer you. *Win the battle for your mind and be reborn each day.  You need to metaphorically die each day to your old limiting self (self-defeating mindset).  Every day when you wake up, resolve to be a better version of who you were the day before: wiser, kinder, more compassionate, more humble, tougher, and stronger.  Each day, you will let go of the person you were yesterday. If you fell short or made a mistake, today you will start fresh; you will do better. Today, you will forgive yourself for your past errors and create a new, more powerful, and more loving you. These are just some of the life-changing secrets we learned from Sean on how to kick the problems out of your life and achieve personal mastery.  Be a Cobra, never compromise your character, and be reborn every day.  If you do these things, you will conquer your inner world and achieve your dreams as you help others achieve theirs. We are sitting down today with Stephen Simon who joins us from his home near Portland. Stephen was born into a family already successful in Hollywood. As a young man, he went to law school and practised for a short while, but his heart was married to another mission. Stephen elaborates on this mission through his experience with the films he produced and the people who inspired him along the way. And along that way he produced acclaimed projects such as the Academy Award-winning film What Dreams May Come (starring Robin Williams & Cuba Gooding Jr). We learn about his twin flame and wife Lauren who passed several years ago and with whom he co-wrote a book after she transitioned to the other side. We also discuss his beloved Spiritual Cinema Circle project and we hear about the consensual realities he's learned about from the other side. We discuss the eternal wisdom of Neale Donald Walsch, Shirley MacLaine – and Wayne Gretzky. An open conversation with a man who's lived with an open heart. Have a listen to Stephen Gyllenhaal (ep 127) and Amy Jo Johnson (ep 92) for a couple of past open-heart conversations. New York Times best-selling author, TV producer, actor, and screenwriter Tembi Locke has a passion for connecting with an audience both on the page and on the screen. After going through a monumental rollercoaster life experience, Tembi put pen to paper and began the cathartic experience of writing down her personal story. This turned into Simon and Schuster's' New York Times-bestselling memoir, “From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home,” which was chosen as a 2019 Reese's Book Club pick, and was quickly scooped up by Reese's Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine and Netflix as a limited series. Inspired by the memoir, From Scratch is a cross-cultural love story that follows Amy (played by Zoe Saldana, based on Tembi) an American student studying abroad in Italy, as she meets and falls in love with Lino, a Sicilian chef. Their whirlwind romance faces many unforeseen challenges, including their very different cultural backgrounds of which Lino's family is not accepting of Amy's. But when Lino is faced with unimaginable health challenges and the couple's future is threatened, the two families come together to create an extended family unlike any they could have imagined, proving that love crosses all borders. Tembi is an accomplished actor with over sixty film and television credits, most recently recurring on Never Have I Ever. Offscreen, Tembi is a nationally recognized speaker for her keynotes on resilience, loss, and motherhood; her TEDX talk has been viewed by individuals and nonprofits worldwide. https://www.tembilocke.com

If there was any inclination the Fab Four were down to “expand their minds,” by the time Revolver came around, there was very little second guessing. The sounds are out there, backwards, mystical. And on "Dr. Robert," what might have been a nudge and wink previously is now just a punch in the face: THESE GUYS TAKE DRUGS. Whether it's autobiographical or a character piece though, it's a fantastic mind movie, where the band paint a great picture sonically of the good Doctor, while John's vocal moves to almost Dylan-esque places. On an album wherein the band is really starting to use the studio as an instrument, “Dr. Robert” holds its' own as a great live band performance, especially with John and Paul's fantastic vocals being recorded together. Sonically, this is maybe the song that exemplifies to me the brilliance of the sound of the Revolver album, chiming Epiphone Casinos and Vox Amps, thumping Rickenbacker bass. It's maybe my favorite SOUNDING Beatles album, and this is one of my favorite sounding moments. It's not a major player in the overall arc of the catalog, but it's a good one for sure. Joining us this week is Emmy and Golden Globe nominated screenwriter, producer, and author Bruce Ferber. While his biggest credits include some truly classic sitcoms like Home Improvement, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Bosom Buddies, Coach, and Growing Pains, these days he's turned his pen towards writing award winning novels. His current book is I Buried Paul, a story of a man who plays Paul McCartney in a Beatles Tribute band. It's a self-described love letter to the power of music, and an exploration of the sacrifices its disciples are willing to make in service to its' magic. We chat with Bruce about just what drove him to dive into the world of Beatles Tribute acts, learning to be open to change, the REAL Dr. Robert, and what may be the greatest Beatles Tribute band of all time. Get yourself a copy of I Buried Paul at bruceferber.net, or anywhere you buy good books! P.S. - This was recorded prior to the announcement of the upcoming Revolver box set reissue. Driven By Insight

In today's episode, Willy welcomes Jamie Lee Curtis. She is an actress, producer, director, inventor, and author. With an illustrious career spanning four decades, she has appeared in widely loved films, such as "Halloween," "Trading Places," "True Lies," "Knives Out," and A24's highest-grossing film to date, "Everything Everywhere All At Once." She has starred in numerous sitcoms, such as "Anything But Love," "The Heidi Chronicles," and "Scream Queens." She has written 13 children's books, narrated for Audible's "Letters From Camp," and is the host and producer of "Good Friend," an iHeartMedia podcast. She is an amateur photographer and an advocate for children, animals, and the environment. Happily married for 37 years to Christopher Guest, she now has two adult children. The podcast begins with Jamie sharing her stepfather's influence on her when it comes to business. Bob Brandt was an ex-marine and a self-made businessman who taught Jamie the value of money and the greatest finance lesson of her life: "Save every penny you've ever made." She continues to talk about her mother, Janet Leigh, popularly known as Marion Crane from the cult-classic horror film "Psycho." She remembers her mother as someone who "came from nothing" and was discovered by Tom Cruise but goes out of her way to memorize the names of everyone around her and get to know them deeply – a trait that Jamie has emulated. Jamie's thoughts about social media revolved around it being a poison to the youth and how it should be "about standing for something." She wants to relate to others on both sides as "that's the goal of America." When it comes to comments, she advises, "Don't read the comments. Period. Say what you mean. Mean what you say. Don't say it mean. And get the f*** out." Working with her mother made her strive to honor her parents by doing her best in everything she was set to do. She uncovers a downside to fame as she says, "Fame doesn't disappear…. But what made you famous goes away," expressing her heartbreak over what her parents have experienced in showbiz. Jamie attests to putting one foot out the door so that she can leave anytime if the limelight is not where she belongs anymore. She is grateful for staying relevant even in her sixties. She talks about the difference between earning TV money and movie money. She advises everyone to give their money away while they're still alive and use it to live life to the fullest. "I want to die fully alive… manifest my destiny so I can leave a little bit of goodness in the world before I go. She shares her experience working for Blumhouse for the "Halloween" movies, being "a final girl," and acting with fake blood in most of her films. She retells her fairy-tale-like experience of marrying Christopher Guest and the interesting aspects of filming kiss scenes. She touches on her latest movie, "Everything Everywhere All At Once," and how her friends thought it was "the worst movie they have ever seen." She adds that sitcom work is her favorite job and that James Cameron wrote "True Lies" with her in mind. She describes the director as someone who "can do every single job on a movie except acting, which is why actors love working for him." She developed a close friendship with Arnold Schwarzenegger on set and described the challenges of portraying Helen Tasker. She ends the show with a touching message: "The most important thing is who we are as human beings, with other human beings." Even in today's troubled times, she believes respect and humanity should come first above all else. Tune in to this new episode of the Walker Webcast — Behind the Scenes with Jamie Lee Curtis. ▶️
