The Voice of the Maryland Bobcats joined us for the Bobcast this week to talk about his journey to be the voice of the Bobcats. Then we talk about the Stars loss a bit. --Game Summary -- 2-0 Loss to the Stars at Home The Maryland Bobcats took on the Michigan Stars on a rainy, yet warm night on Saturday, May 20th. Although they controlled the pace of play for much of the night, Michigan converted two chances in the 82' and 89'- the second a PK by their goalkeeper - and had a higher xG on the night. Although Maryland had some good chances - like an Espinal hit of the bar - that would have changed the complexion of this game. Overall, it was a fantastic watch and a free-flowing game. And when the rain stopped around halftime, the sunset was magnificent over the beautiful Sportsplex grass pitch and I enjoyed an evening with my daughter. As an added bonus, Abby was pumped about her autographed shirt!
The Old Bae Brigade discusses the 3-0 win over Flower City and the upcoming match against the Michigan Stars at the plex.

We hit a ton of local topics today, with some focus on sports as we do when @saintfdw is in the studio. COVID is surging in Metro Detroit. It's now impacting hospitals, and Michigan's low vaccination rate means an even long push for healthcare professionals. Not to mention impacts to the Red Wings and the NFL is tightening protocols. Jared Goff might be off this Sunday with an injury. Detroit City FC has its last NISA match vs. the Michigan Stars. Predictions, plus a listener question. And finally, we learn about Fletcher's love of Krispy Krunchy Chicken and the wild story of how he found out about it. OMGWTFBBQ what an episode. We literally scrapped it three times and then everything happened. First, Devon O'Reilly joins us to talk about the change in mask policy. In Michigan, as of 9am Saturday, it's masks off for vaccinated individuals. But will you? Will he? And in what situations? And we get into what some of the thinking might be behind the moves. We also talk about Bedrock's purchase of 300 River Place and the vibrant neighborhood that is down there at Jos Campau on the river side of Jefferson. I-75 will be a mess this weekend, just avoid it. Then, Fletcher Sharpe joins us for a not only a wrap-up and preview of the Detroit City FC matches, but literally while we were recording the show news broke that the Michigan Stars won't be going to California and are forfeiting their match over a conflict with the league, NISA. Safe to say, Fletcher unloads. @saintfdw on Twitter, btw. And finally, Michelle Mirowski from Ferndale Radio is on to talk about the ongoing fundraiser. The community station is raising $12,000 to start streaming what is a low-power FM signal on the internet. Which is exciting for fans of local content like us. Alright, it's been a heck of a week. In tonight's PMR, we review @ChattanoogaFC's first match as a member of @NISALeague against @OaklandRootsSC. We're professional y'all! It was a good night and it was a frustrating night for the Blues. Things started out well, as first-year mid-fielder Ian McGrath put home a header off a Kyle Carr corner kick for CFC's first goal as a professional club. It looked like CFC would take all three points as time went on. However, a late equalizer from Jack McInerney spoiled the NISA debut for CFC as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The Blues still got a result and will be heading back east with a point. Next up, CFC will take on the Michigan Stars at Finley on March 14th. We hope to see you there and, as always, thanks for listening. Enjoy! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/423soccerpod/support

It's a short one tonight as my voice was giving out a bit, but we'll be back soon with a full podcast. Until then, enjoy! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/423soccerpod/support
