De autoleasebranche is bezorgd over een plan van klimaatminister Hermans om elektrisch rijden te stimuleren. Per 1 januari 2027 krijgen werkgevers te maken met een 'eindheffing' als ze leaseauto's op benzine of diesel inzetten. De heffing bedraagt 52% van het bijtellingspercentage over de cataloguswaarde van een auto. Bij een auto van 40.000 euro betekent dat een eindheffing van ruim 4.500 euro per jaar. 'Als werkgevers door deze maatregel gaan kiezen voor alternatieven voor een zakelijke auto, heeft dit grote averechtse milieueffecten', zegt voorzitter Renate Hemerik. Het kabinet gaat de wegenbelasting op de schop nemen. De motorrijtuigenbelasting (MRB) moet in de toekomst berekend worden aan de hand van de oppervlakte van de auto, in plaats van het gewicht. Dat is nodig om te voorkomen dat de markt voor elektrische auto's instort. En dat pakt voor veel bezitters van stekkerauto's gunstiger uit. Er gaat veel veranderen voor autobezitters per 1 januari 2025. 'Veel wordt duurder', zegt Noud Broekhof van De Nationale Autoshow. Dit is het overzicht: Eigenaren van een elektrische auto gaan motorrijtuigenbelasting (MRB) betalen. In 2025 geldt een kwarttarief. Ook de MRB op plug-in hybrides gaat verder omhoog (van half- naar driekwarttarief). De laadtarieven bij alle publieke laadpalen stijgen per 1 januari met gemiddeld 7 cent per kWh. De aankoopsubsidie (SEPP) voor nieuwe en gebruikte elektrische auto's verdwijnt. Daarmee valt een bedrag van respectievelijk 2950 euro en 2000 euro weg voor particuliere EV-kopers. 2025 is het laatste jaar van de bijtellingkorting op elektrische auto's. Tot 30.000 euro geldt komend jaar 17 procent (alles daarboven is net als andere jaren de volle 22 procent). Vanaf 1 januari betaal je 667 euro bpm bij de aanschaf een nieuwe EV, maar veel automerken hebben al laten weten dat ze dat bedrag zullen compenseren. De bpm op plug-in hybrides gaat tijdelijk (een jaartje) omlaag vanwege het verdwijnen van de aparte bpm-tabel. In 2026 gaat de aanschafbelasting vermoedelijk flink stijgen door de komst van een nieuwe tabel (gebaseerd op een meer realistische test). De bpm-vrijstelling op bestelbusjes verdwijnt. Dieselbusjes worden fors duurder. Daardoor is dit jaar een run op de voertuigen ontstaan. Veel verkeersboetes gaan in 2025 10 euro omhoog. Ook snelheidsovertredingen worden iets duurder. Hoewel de accijns op brandstof in 2025 gelijk blijft, is het volgens UnitedConsumers goed mogelijk dat de prijzen aan de pomp verder stijgen vanwege onrust in het Midden-Oosten en de zwakke euro. De mobiliteitssector is niet te spreken over het plan van het kabinet om de korting op de motorrijtuigenbelasting (MRB) voor elektrische auto's te versoberen per 2026. Dan krijgen berijders 25 procent korting in plaats van de eerder beloofde 40 procent. Dat maakt het bezit van een EV duurder. Brancheclubs spreken van een 'onaangename verrassing'. Een overzicht van het belangrijkste mobiliteitsnieuws met aandacht voor de wegenbelasting, problemen met elektrische bussen bij Keolis en de-bikes van GO Sharing. Volgens het CBS haalt de overheid dit jaar 2,9 procent minder motorrijtuigenbelasting (MRB) op dan vorig jaar. Hoewel de totale opbrengst daalt, stijgt in de helft van de provincies de wegenbelasting. In Utrecht stijgt de belasting het meest. Also in this edition of the Overdrive Radio podcast: Intro'ing a new dispatch provider in S2 Logistics, with hotshot hauler S2 Transport co-owner Scott Sabatini at its helm and stressing integrity in operations, a response to his own early difficulties. When the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Medical Review Board met May 20 in part to take up a revised sleep-apnea-related section of the FMCSA's official handbook for the fine folks that perform DOT physicals all around the country, doctors on the board discovered that handbook drafters had made pains in that section to remove a detailed set of screening, testing and treatment recommendations. The Medical Review Board had originally come up with those in 2016, when FMCSA was considering pursuing rulemaking around the condition. Those recommendations were then in a draft update to the official medical examiners' handbook that came to light about a year ago but had yet to be officially published as the agency worked on finalizing an update with the board in an advisory capacity. Handbook drafters as of the May 20 meeting had cut that and added language making it abundantly clear that there was no regulation that required sleep apnea driver screening, referrals for testing or treatment. Board member Michael Kelly worried over that addition in particular, and was joined by the entire board in protest over the lack of specifics. As Truckers for a Cause sleep apnea support group cofounder, and longtime driver Bob Stanton put it recently, commenting in the Overdrive's Trucking Pro group at Linkedin, though, “the Medical Review Board seems to have forgotten what Congress mandated through Public Law 113-45.” Namely, that FMCSA must go through public notice and comment rulemaking in order to issue any further guidance on the condition when it comes to required or recommended screening, testing and treatment guidelines for CDL holders. Dr. Kelley went further, too, expressing disappointment over what he predicted would be the reality if this handbook draft was made final. As was quoted in my report from that day, Kelley beleved "it will be very rare for drivers here on out to be tested and treated for sleep apnea unless they truly want to be." His statement of that disappointment sounded to some truckers in the audience quite differently than how he intended it. Prior to joining Ansys, he spent 20 years at Medtronic where he most recently concentrated on cross business unit implementation of reliability initiatives for Class III medical devices. He was also responsible for supplier assessment and approval, on-going supplier audits, failure analysis, corrective actions, MRB, sampling, and ultimately full accountability for quality and reliability of commercial off-the-shelf and custom parts and assemblies from a worldwide supplier base. Earlier in his career, Mr. Brown also spent time at Sundstrand Data Control where he led the implementation of Boeing’s Advanced Quality System program and with Olin Aerospace. As a volunteer, he has been involved with ASQ, IEEE, IPC, and SMTA. He was the keynote speaker at the SMTA Cleaning Conference and won the best paper award at the SMTA Microelectronics Conference. He has taught on the subjects of design for reliability, tin whiskers, statistics, design of experiments, and contributed to standards development. Today’s episode is a little different than others. Dock will be sharing a very interesting presentation on the subject of reliability.
