'Nuff Said! Today Brett gets all worked up about an online petition about Captain Marvel. Also: Who is the Phantom Lady? Who is The Swordsman? Why are they making another Suicide Squad? What is Dark Horse Comics? How different are The Mask comics from the Jim Carrey movie? Is it a problem when a TV show stops being faithful to the comics? What's the difference between Elongated Man and Plastic Man? Who's better, Green Arrow or Hawkeye? Was the original Captain Marvel a black woman? Which superhero movie has Brett never seen? Who was the first comic book antihero? What would be a cool way to get the Sub-Mariner into the MCU? Captain Underpants - true superhero or not? August 11 will mark my 12 year podiversary. To honor this, I talk about two comics that came out back in the year The Comic Book Attic made its debut, 2006; those comics are 52 #8 and Nextwave: Agents of HATE #3. Following that are three segments where I talk about a possible theory about the next Avengers movie, my unhappy thoughts about digital comics, and my disdain for CGC comic entombment (31:37) The Comic Book Attic YouTube channel (524)

Remi, Jeff, Chris, Matt, Adam, Michel, Keenan, Andrew talk Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen’s Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. Is it the highest book we’ve ever rated?!? Who knows? You, when you listen! Also…us. Nextwave is a humorous comic book series by Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen, published by Marvel Comics between 2006 and 2007. The Nextwave series features a collection of minor Marvel superheroes: monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone; Monica Rambeau, the former Captain Marvel; Tabitha Smith, formerly of X-Force; Aaron Stack, the Machine Man; and new character the Captain, previously called Captain ☠☠☠☠ (the obscured words being so horrible that Captain America allegedly "beat seven shades of it out of [him]" and left him in a dumpster with a bar of soap in his mouth).[1] These individuals are assembled by H.A.T.E., the Highest Anti-Terrorism Effort, to fight Unusual Weapons of Mass Destruction (U.W.M.D.s). The Nextwave team learns that H.A.T.E. is funded by the Beyond Corporation©, an organization formerly known as terrorist group S.I.L.E.N.T. As a result, the heroes leave H.A.T.E., stealing a vehicle called the Shockwave Rider. They destroy the U.W.M.D.s that the Beyond Corporation and H.A.T.E. have hidden around the United States, while being pursued by H.A.T.E. Director Dirk Anger, a parody of Nick Fury.[2] The U.W.M.D.s include Fin Fang Foom,[3] Broccoli Men, Ultra Samurai,[4] and the Mindless Ones. Using the Shockwave Rider as a mobile base of operations (the vehicle is larger on the inside than out, much like the TARDIS of Doctor Who), Nextwave is able to rapidly mount missions in widely separated locations including central Illinois, Wyoming, North Dakota, and Nevada

What does Bob think of Gal Gadot of Wonder Woman? Is Amazing Spider-Man 2 heading for disappointment? What is X-Men: Apocalypse? Stephanie returns after a week of travel hell and the gang talk about some TV shows, and discuss LOTS of comic book news and a bunch of comic book movie trailers were launched, so opinions about those fly on the show. Before that happens though, favourite Books of the Week are discussed and some of the choice items on the menu include: Triple Helix, Fearless Defenders, The Movement, Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E., Rat Queens, Aquaman, Black Science, Wolverine and the X-Men, Amazing X-Men, Whispers, Inhumanity, Pretty Deadly, Action Comics and more.
Jared Axelrod and Steve Walker talk about Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen's comic NEXTWAVE: AGENTS OF H.A.T.E., and why it is a perfect example of everything that is right and good with superhero comics. October 28, 2010 - Josh Flanagan, Jim Mroczkowski, and Ryan Haupt gather to officially discuss Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen's short lived, but brilliant series, Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. With a few years between the release of the material, the discussion plumbs the absolute depths of what the series has to offer, from wacky fun, an actual if not hidden reverence for Marvel Comics, and some of the best artwork to ever be captured on a comic book page. It was a complete package from cover to recap to letter page. It was not long for the world of publishing, with only 12 issues released, and the vaguest tease of future stories, we got what we got, and that was something special that you weren't going to see anywhere else. This week, on another roundtable, our heroes Chris, Tom, Sal and Skottie, jump the Rio Grande and get in some trouble. On Part I of this extra-long roundtable, the panel discusses their top of the stack picks including Alice in Sunderland by Bryan Talbot, Fell Vol. 1, Punisher Max Vol. 1, Nextwave: Agents of HATE Vol. 1, and Superman Confidential #11. Meanwhile...we talk a little bit about Skottie's X-Men project, driving and fighting bobcats, why we own pitbulls, if Absinthe without mercury is worth drinking, how Wendy's makes no sense, why Chris loves Manga, punching Akira with a fistful of liberty, the history of the McDonald's characters, and we finish up with some emails. Don't forget to check back next week to hear part II of this episode.
