This video is a devotional message centered on the theme of understanding and embracing our spiritual identity and blessings as Christians. It starts with praises and then delves into the core message that believers in Jesus Christ, acknowledging Him as Lord and Savior, become children of God. It reassures listeners of their perfect position in Christ despite imperfections, emphasizing the coexistence of a new divine nature alongside the old. Key biblical references from Galatians, 2 Peter, John, and Romans highlight the believers' roles as heirs and joint heirs with Christ, blessed with all spiritual blessings and entitled to heavenly promises. The script also discusses the Christian's justification, peace with God, and the unique privilege of being kings and priests unto God, as per Revelation. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit within believers, transforming them into God's temple, underscores the importance of living a life that honors this divine presence. The message concludes with a prayer of gratitude for the spiritual blessings bestowed upon believers and encourages sharing the message with others. 00:00 Introduction and Opening Prayer 00:15 Understanding Our Relationship with God 00:58 The Importance of Faith and Acceptance 02:00 The Struggle Between Flesh and Spirit 03:30 Our Position and Blessings in Christ 06:03 The Significance of Being Heirs with Christ 07:47 Our Roles as Kings and Priests 09:05 The Holy Spirit Dwelling Within Us 10:19 Closing Prayer and Final Thoughts --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gnbc/message
In this video, pastor Roderick Webster elaborates on the Christian belief in one's 'position in Christ' versus one's 'condition in Christ'. Drawing from Biblical verses, the speaker illustrates the concept that although a believer's condition may vary, their position in Christ is secure and unchanging. The script emphasizes that salvation and acceptance are based on a believer's position, not their condition, and thus, no matter what circumstances may arise, the believer's position in Christ remains intact. The speaker uses the metaphor of Noah's ark to indicate that safety lies in being 'in Christ'. Furthermore, the speaker points out that while every believer's position is the same, their condition - or state - can differ, depending on whether they are spiritual or carnal, growing or stagnant. Despite these differences in condition, the speaker asserts that all believers are seen as saints in the sight of God. The script concludes with a prayer for strength in working on personal conditions while appreciating the surety of their position in Christ. 00:00 Introduction and Daniel Whitley's Song 00:55 Our Position in Christ 01:24 The Unchanging Fact of Our Position 01:54 The Biblical Assurance of Our Position 02:30 Walking in the Spirit: The Expected Lifestyle 03:36 The Ark Analogy: Safety in Position 04:37 Are You in Christ? 04:58 The Difference Between Position and Condition 05:48 The Sanctification of Believers 07:08 The Struggle with Living a Sanctified Life 07:39 The Variance in Christian Conditions 07:59 The Call to Grow in Grace and Knowledge 09:20 The Difference Between Spiritual and Carnal Believers 09:50 The Assurance of Our Position in Christ 10:30 The Prodigal Son: A Lesson on Position and Condition 10:46 Closing Prayer and Encouragement --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gnbc/message
The spiritual discourse encourages Christians to understand their 'position' in Christ and how it doesn't change regardless of one conditioning. The speaker clarifies that salvation and acceptance before God, depend upon our 'position', not 'condition'. Using scriptural references, he emphasizes how believers are saved, accepted, and justified through faith in Christ, not by their works. The video concludes with a prayer and a message of gratitude to the viewers for their partnership in spreading the Christian faith. 00:00 Introduction and Invitation to Christianity 00:49 Understanding the Bible: Romans Chapter Eight 01:36 The Song of Daniel Whitley and Its Meaning 02:07 The Struggle of Faith and Assurance in Christ 02:33 The Difference Between Our Position and Condition in Christ 03:22 The Importance of Our Position in Salvation 04:19 Understanding Salvation and Acceptance in Christ 06:45 Justification and Peace Through Faith 07:54 Our Position in Christ: Saved, Accepted, and Justified 09:41 The Unchanging Fact: We Are in Christ 10:07 Closing Prayer and Gratitude 10:47 Partnership in Ministry and Final Remarks --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gnbc/message
The speaker begins a devotional series on the Christian's position and condition in Christ. He offers encouragement to deter discouragement in believers' lives, asserting the importance of understanding these two facets. He defines our position as what we are in Christ before God, while our condition is our status in the world. Verse references include 2nd Corinthians chapter 5 verse 17, 2nd Peter chapter 2 verses 4 - 9, and 1st Corinthians chapter 15 verse 22. He alludes that all humans are linked to Adam by birth and blood, perceiving us in Adam by nature, but becoming born again places us in Christ. He concludes by encouraging believers to share the message, and promises to delve deeper into the topic in future devotions. 00:00 Introduction and Praise 00:24 Our Position and Condition in Christ 01:09 Affirmation: I'm a Child of the King 02:47 Understanding Our New Identity in Christ 04:37 The Importance of Understanding Our Position and Condition 05:43 Seven Key Differences Every Believer Should Know 06:21 Exploring Our Position and Condition in Christ 07:13 Our Position in Adam vs Our Position in Christ 09:31 Closing Prayer and Encouragement --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gnbc/message

Pastor Stue continues the theme of Kairos this week speaking about “Our Position and Purpose” in this Kairos moment. In Matthew 24, Jesus speaks about end times, of many earthquakes, natural disasters and signs in the heavens and on earth. Also that darkness will increase wickedness on earth. We do live in a world that is pretty broken, according to Jesus - the acceptable year of the Lord or the season of God's grace. Luke 4:18-19 speaks of the acceptable year of the Lord of the season of God's Grace - beginning when Jesus died on the cross and ending when Jesus returns. In this season that we live, every single person who calls out to Jesus can be saved. If anyone calls upon Jesus, turns their heart to Jesus, they will be saved because Jesus took the sin of the world upon himself so that we could be made perfect in the sight of God. This is the Gospel message. This season of God's grace is the season of God's favour. The Bible is very clear that we are going to see an outpouring of God's spirit upon the church His people that will be mobilised and empowered to live for the purposes of God's kingdom and bring the good news of God's kingdom to this world. God set us apart and He has a purpose for our lives. The only way we can accomplish the purpose of God in our lives is to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Each of us has been positioned in God's Kingdom for such a time as this.Even though we go through storms in our lives, the key to being used for God's Kingdom purposes is to make ourselves available to Him. When we are available to God, positioned in this moment for God's purposes we can then walk in His purposes in our lives. We do not need to be perfect, just available. Maybe we need to spend less time worrying about how we failed, how we didn't make perfect choices, how we wasted our time, how we hurt others, or perhaps how we ourselves were hurt, or how we suffered, and maybe we need to spend more time, being set apart now, for the purposes of God.

I recorded this mini-series from Ephesians 4:1-3 in the studio. As such they are a bit shorter and have a slightly different tone than our normal studies. To lay a foundation for this ten-part mini-series, I gave a recap of the previous study I gave, https://deeperchristian.com/ephesians-study-085/ (The Practical Outflow of Our Position in Christ). As we begin this new mini-series from Ephesians 4 examining God's call in our lives, we first need to see the connection between chapters 1-3 and chapters 4-6. Without recognizing that the outflow of the Christian life is based upon God's inflow, we will either live with hypocrisy or passivity. Join me in this overview message looking at the importance of knowing all of Ephesians to properly understand God's calling in the life of a believer. --------------------- Deeper Christian Bible Study in Ephesians • Study 86 Download the study notes for this episode and get other Christ-centered teaching and resources at: https://deeperchristian.com/ephesians-study-086/ (deeperchristian.com/ephesians-study-086/)

Our Position in Christ in Philippians
Click here for free downloads 121 What does God think of me? Hi, and welcome back to another Nugget of Truth. To start, I want to perform an experiment with you. I’m going to ask a question, and then for ten seconds, I want you to remember the first thing that comes to your mind. So here we go with the question. “When God looks down on you, what do you think He sees?” Show More If you thought of any of the following, you are wrong. If you thought I’m a failure, I’m ashamed, I’m unworthy, I’m no good, I don’t deserve God’s love or forgiveness. Let me say this is not what God sees when He looks down upon a person who has accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. What God sees when He looks upon a Believer is the Blood of Jesus, which cleanses and redeems a son or daughter. You are the beloved child of God and forever in the family of God! One of the great challenges of being a Christian is trying to live a sinless life. Living a sinless life is a lifelong struggle and at times, a very difficult challenge. While a sinless life is impossible to achieve in this life, we should always strive for that goal! Living righteously is the sure path to peace, success, and love in your life. We understand that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross has erased all of our sins, and we are new creations in Him; however, we still deal with temptation and sliding back to our old ways. I heard someone say recently, “we may be done with sin, but sin is not done with us.” In other words. we still have to deal with temptations and trials of the flesh; we know that they come from the enemy of our soul Satan. The Devil's purpose is to cause us to feel defeated and condemned! When we feel condemned and defeated, we often pull away from the Lord; that is the Devil’s strategy. We feel so unworthy of God and ashamed, we spiral into a downward fall that draws us away from the love, forgiveness, and acceptance of Jesus Christ. Romans 8 gives us four essential principles to receive by faith, and if we learn to walk by these four principles, we will indeed be able to say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” because He loves me and at the same time He’s not finished with me. The first principle is that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus who walk by the Spirit and not by the flesh. It is worth repeating that you have to accept the truth and believe by faith that the Holy Spirit lives in you. The Holy Spirit is your helper to overcome temptation and break old unrighteous habits. You can’t do it without Him; He is your helper and comforter. When you stumble and fall into sinful behavior, the Holy Spirit will not abandon you because He is in you. The Holy Spirit will convict you, strengthen you and urge you to repent and turn away from that behavior that displeases the Lord. You can’t do it alone. The second principle is that we need to recognize that we have a new position in our relationships with the Lord, “we are sons!” Sonship will be the subject of today’s message. The third principle is that life is a struggle! It is sometimes hard and unfair; however, you are never alone. Jesus promised that He would never leave you nor forsake you. He is present in you through the Holy Spirit. The fourth principle is the fact that nothing and no one can separate you from the love that God has for you! The Lord's love is total and absolute. You are unconditionally loved! Let's Look at the second principle, What it Means that We are Viewed as Sons by the Lord! Romans Chapter 8:12-17 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the Spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our Spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. The Seal of The Father is the Evidence of Our Adoption. The evidence of our salvation is the Holy Spirit of God living in us. Christianity is not a religion of rites, traditions, and formalities, but a living relationship with our Lord. The Holy Spirit is the evidence of our “sealing” by the Lord. 2 Corinthians 1:21 “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” Ephesians 1:13” In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Our Position as Sons The Apostle Paul states in clear terms who his faith is in. His faith is not in a church building, a denomination, or the beliefs of some leader. Instead, Paul’s faith is in one person- “Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1Corinthians 2:2). We are adopted as sons. “Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,” (Ephesians 1:5).“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12). Jesus is The Son of God, and we are His brothers. “For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He (Jesus) is not ashamed to call them brethren” (Hebrews 2:10-11). Because of our sonship position, we have access to God.“For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father” (Ephesians 2:18). Son vs. Stranger Remember the question at the beginning “When God looks down on you, what do you think He sees?” The Apostle Paul did not define himself by what he did or thought, but he defined himself by what God said of him. God said he was a son, and therefore Paul chose to live as a son! Paul saw himself as a son who decided to serve his Father. Isn't this what Jesus demonstrated for us throughout His life in His obedience to Father God? “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:8). Let’s take a closer look at God’s idea that we are sons in Galatians 3:26-29. “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”. Notice in verse 28 God makes no distinction of position, gender, status, or reputation. All that is required is to be in Christ. Notice also that God does not distinguish between male or female. That means that sonship is not about gender but position in Christ. It may seem odd to us, but it is perfectly acceptable to God that a female can be a son in position! In verse 29, sons are declared to be heirs. That means we have access to the promises of God because only sons inherit. Paul continues to teach about sonship in Galatians 4:4-7 “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ”. Success as a Christian happens when you understand that your identity is to live by faith as a son!You are not defined by what you do but by what God says of you… you are a son! An illustration of believing God- Private Chauvin In the early 1800s there was a story about Nicolas Chauvin, a private in Napoleon Bonaparte’s army. Private Chauvin was standing at attention while King Napoleon reviewed the troops riding on his white horse. For some reason, the horse became startled, Napoleon dropped the reins, and the horse ran out of control with Napoleon still on the horse. Immediately Private Chauvin ran after the King, grabbed the reins, calmed the horse, and brought Napoleon to safety. Napoleon said, “What is your name soldier”? To which Chauvin said, “My name is Private Chauvin, sir.” The King then said, “Thank you Captain Chauvin.” Immediately Chauvin went to his quarters, took off his enlisted uniform, and replaced it with an officer’s uniform, that of a Captain! His fellow soldiers began to ridicule him and challenged his right to wear the uniform of an officer. To which Captain Chauvin said, “I have the right to wear this uniform because My King called me Captain”! Your King calls you son! As a son, you inherit the promises of God. Write down these scripture verses and study them to strengthen your faith and walk in the Lord!Your Father is God (Matthew 5:16, Matthew 5:48, Matthew 6:1, Matthew 6:8, Mark 11:25, Luke 6:36).You have access to the Throne Room of God (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18, Ephesians 3:12).God's Holy Spirit dwells in you (Romans 8:9, Romans 8:11, 1Corinthians 3:16, 1Corinthians 6:19, Ephesians 5:18, 2Timothy 1:14).Supernatural power and authority are available to you to fulfill God’s ministry, mission, or assignment(Luke 10:19-20, John 16:7, Acts 1:8, 2Corinthians 12:9, 1John 4:4).You are anointed for service (2Corinthians 1:21) Jesus Christ purchased your Position as a son. His death on the cross of Calvary opened a door into a New Covenant that describes our new relationship with God.

Every family has values that they stand by in every season. The great thing is that the same applies in God's kingdom! Pastor Jeremy is taking 10 biblical values and breaking them down to build our essential Family Values! This week we journey into the second part of “Servanthood is Our Position”. Pastor Jeremy shared “Anything valuable that you don’t protect will be stolen.” This rings true in our position as servants in the kingdom of God. What an honor it is to take our rightful place as a servant in the kings house! “Serving removes boundaries from God and puts boundaries on everything else." Have you ever put boundaries around God? We never practice this intentionally, but we all have done this. Many times we put boundaries around God. This allows fear, lies, and anxiety run rampant yet we still expect God to meet us in our man-made boundaries. I wonder if the boundaries we put on God in our finances, family, work, school, dreams and more is impeding the true breakthrough we could experience. If we let God truly run wild in our lives, what would it look like?! What if we could give God the freedom to do as He pleases. We should submit our time, talent and treasure back into the kingdom. He can do more in what we’re putting boundaries around than what we could ask, think or imagine. Challenge yourself this week to let go of your boundaries in order to make room for a miracle only God could make happen.
1 Peter 2:4-8 - The Privilege of Our Position by Redemption Church
Welcome to our third talk in our series on Ephesians. We are looking at the first 14 verses of chapter 1. So far we have seen that Paul is praising God for blessings in the heavenly realms (v3). These include: The will of God 1-4-5-9-11 Election and Predestination 4-5-11 In Christ (10 references) The gift of the Holy Spirit 13-14 Today our theme is what it means to be in Christ. Let’s look at vv 1-14 again, this time noting the references to the phrase in Christ Ephesians 1:1-14 1 “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfilment – to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. 11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession – to the praise of his glory.” The expression ‘in Christ’ or ‘in the Lord’ occurs at least 80 times in the Epistles. What does it mean? Paul used the phrase in Christ to refer to anyone who was a Christian (In fact the word Christian occurs only 3 times in the NT) Colossians 1:2 To the holy and faithful brothers in Christ at Colosse Galatians 1:22 the churches of Judea that are in Christ Philippians 4:21 Greet all the saints in Christ Jesus 1 Thessalonians 2:14 God’s churches in Judea which are in Christ Jesus Ephesians 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed... Our Position before we were in Christ Ephesians 2:1-10 1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – 9 not by works, so that no-one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” We’ll come back to this passage in a later talk, but for now please note: We were dead (v1) and deserving of wrath (v4) We are now alive (v5) We were in sin (v1) and transgressions (v5) We are now in Christ (v8) When did this happen? When we were saved (v 5). Cf 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed... How? By grace, through faith (v 8). The Effects of being in Christ a) We become new creations 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come. b) We are free from sin’s penalty - we are justified Romans 3:23-24. ...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus (NIV) - but the Greek says in Christ Jesus This means that we are declared righteous in the sight of God and are free from sin’s penalty. As a result, we have been brought near to God But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ (2:13). c) We are free from sin’s power Romans 8:1-4 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. We are in Christ (v 1) As a result are set free from the law (tendency) of sin (v 3) so that we can now obey God’s law (v 4). d) We are supreme in the spiritual conflict Ephesians 2:6 God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus What are the ‘heavenly realms’? Not heaven 6:11 (More of this when we get to Chapter 6) Where are we? In Christ. Where is Christ? Far above all... (1:21) e) One day, we shall be free from sin’s presence 1 Corinthians 15:22 As in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive (NB the terms are not co-extensive) 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord for ever! Note the change from ‘in’ to ‘with’. To be with Christ is far better! Are you in Christ? Ephesians 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed ...
