Send us a textIn this episode of Brewstilled, I'll be recapping the finale of HBO's The White Lotus season 3. For the finale, it was wild, unpredictable and tragic. It contained developments that were definitely a surprise as all of the story arcs ended. Amongst the characters there were the winners and the losers. We also got a major twist that showed that everyone can be bought at the right price. I'll be discussing this and more here on Brewstilled with an innovative Berliner Weisse from Parish Brewing as the beer pairing.
Send us a textIn this edition of Brewstilled, it's a recap of week 7 for the 2024 NFL Season and for the House of the Lombardi. In week 7, the Jacksonville Jaguars got their second win during their game against the Patriots in London. Yet for the Jaguars, the rest of their schedule will bring challenges. What is the mystery for the Jaguars 2024 NFL season struggles? For the Detroit Lions, they won against the Minnesota Vikings while giving the Vikings their first loss of the season. Can the Lions maintain this momentum? Also, is Jared Goff a legitimate MVP candidate? For the Atlanta Falcons they lost to the Seahawks. Can the Falcons bounce back in their week 8 rematch against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? The Raiders and The Rams played against each other for a sloppy win for the Rams. Could the Rams dig themselves out of this hole? For the Raiders, with Tom Brady now a part owner of their franchise, what does that mean for their future? For the Jets, they lost to the Steelers in a rout on Sunday Night. With the Jets continuing to be in dire straits, where do they go from here? Will Aaron Rogers come back next year? All this and more will be discussed here on Brewstilled with a Hazy IPA from Parish Brewing as the beer pairing.

The Guerrillas go marchin' in...to Broussard, Lousiana to crack into some Parish Brewing. This one starts off simple enough, but comes off the rails by the last beer...good times. The line-up includes: Parish Pilsner, MC^Ghost Double IPA, Greetings from Grand Isle Berliner Weisse, Drive Thru: Purple 9000 Fruited Berliner Weisse. Get that medicine in you! (Literally, in the case of that Purple 9000)
There is the East Coast and there is the West Coast, but aficionados of hazy IPA know not to sleep on the Gulf Coast, thanks largely to Parish Brewing (https://parishbeer.com) in Broussard, Louisiana. Parish's Ghost in the Machine has become a juggernaut in the world of hazy IPA, earning accolades such as a 2019 Beer of the Year (https://beerandbrewing.com/the-best-19-beers-of-2019/) from Craft Beer & Brewing and a mention on critic Alex Kidd's top ten list in 2020 (https://beerandbrewing.com/critics-list-alex-kidds-best-in-2020/). More recently, Parish won a spot in the top 20 small regional breweries (https://beerandbrewing.com/best-in-beer-2023-readers-choice-your-favorite-breweries-by-size/) as voted on by the readers of Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine®. Nor is their success limited to IPA—Parish also picked up a silver medal at the 2023 Great American Beer Festival for its top-selling wheat beer, Canebrake. In this episode, head brewer (and Master Cicerone) Ryan Speyrer joins the podcast to discuss the ways they brew their iconic hazy IPAs, touching on: the evolution of Ghost in the Machine, from West Coast to hazy the roles that wheat and oats do (and don't) play in hazy IPA balancing specific hop varieties between whirlpool and dry hop to maximize the expression of each using classic hops such as Cascade along with Simcoe in modern, fruit-forward IPA the importance of extended cold-conditioning And more. For this episode of Brewstilled, I'll be recapping True Detective Episode 4 from season 4 from HBO. With now just episodes left, we're left a mystery that continues unfold and no signs on answer. In episode 4 we see detectives Danvers and Navarro pursue a lead of interest while a the darkness around then continues to descend. We continue to see more of a supernatural and psychological element to this season, but which ones has more influence or is it equal? Or is the season based on just one of those topics? I'll be recapping the episode here on Brewstilled while discussing those topics. A Coffee Stout form Parish Brewing is on tap for the beer pairing.

Hello, hello, hellloooooo!Have you missed us?! We have MISSED you all. And now that our seasonal 3 month holiday black out is over, we have decided it's time to sit around the table, crack some beers, and just kind of talk about life, liberty, true crime… and beer. On this weeks' episode, we work on a flight from Parish Brewery exploring an increasing ABV of their hazy and hoppy IPAs: Bloom, Murphy, and Holy Ghost. Each of these brews (all with hazy IPA foundations) is wildly different. Base undertones across the board with Citra hops, each goes in divergent directions when adding unique spins to each IPA. Get yourself some and cheers y'all. We missed you.

Halloween has come and gone and so has NFL Week 8 of the 2022 season. It was another weekend in where teams once dominant continue to struggle. Tampa Bay led by Tom Brady lost to the Baltimore Ravens this past Thursday night. Is Tom Brady's career in its twilight? What happened to the grit of Dan Campbell? The Raiders continue to struggle with some now saying this season may be a one and done for Raiders head coach Josh McDaniel's. Is Sean Payton in the future for the Raiders? Do we have an emerging dark horse with the Seattle Seahawks? All this and more will be discussed here on Brewstilled with a Double Imperial IPA from a collab with Parish Brewing and Other Half Brewing. Tune and be brewed and be distilled!
Come join us this week while we take a trip down memory lane, rattling off some of our best beer memories as we discovered beer and craft beer, and of course some of the most painful experiences to keep it from being too sappy! We are winging it these days… much like our adulting lives- who knows what the hell we are doing?! We don't… but please share, like, subscribe. Leave a review… get you some Vermillionaire and treat yourself.
In this episode I am joined by head brewer of Parish Brewing Co, and now master cicerone, Ryan Speyrer. Ryan joins me live from the brewhouse in Louisiana, ahead of his regular Monday routine of checking inventory and stocks for the upcoming week's brew schedule. As part of our conversation, Ryan tells me about his brewing history & ongoing love of home brewing and how he came to be head brewer at Parish. We discuss their now most recognised beer, Ghost In The Machine (which I drink a can of) and how the beer actually started life as a west coast IPA before being converted into the beer it is today. Ryan also discusses the affect of global supply chain issues and rising costs, and how hop harvest and selection is his favourite time of year. Huge thanks to Ryan for joining me, and you can follow the latest updates from Parish on their website or by searching Parish Brewing on Facebook & Instagram.
