Pastor Louie Giglio unpacks the potential of the Above+ Beyond season for us as a House. This year has been one of exponential growth around Passion City Church: more death-to-life moments than we have ever seen, the highest number of celebrations in baptism, and more discipleship offered through the different ministries of our House than we could have ever imagined. As we've grown, God has given us the grace to stretch our curtain wide. But, to keep stretching, we have a clear call to deepen our stakes and step into the life of Generosity God has called each of us to.

Acts 16:11-15 11 From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day on to Naeapolis. 12 From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of the district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days. 13 On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there. 14 One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshipper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message. 15 When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her house. "If you consider me a believer in the Lord," she said, "come and stay at my house." And she persuaded us. (NIV 84) THE CHARACTERISTICS OF CONVERSION Humility: Don Meyer was the head men's basketball coach at Lipscomb University for 25 years. When he retired in 2009, he was the winningest coach in college basketball history with a record of 923-324. One of his life principles was: "Always Take Notes."  Hungry: Louie Gigglio is a Christian pastor and founder of the Passion Movement. He wrote this about worship, "Worship is simply about value. Worship is our response to whatever we value the most in our lives." Hospitality: John Stott, in his commentary on Acts, wrote this about the conversion of Lydia, "For once her heart was opened, her home was opened too."  THE CONCEPTS OF CONVERSION Paul gladly shares because conversion is intentional. God graciously opens because conversion is spiritual. Lydia genuinely responds because conversion is personal.   DISCUSSION QUESTIONS Take a few moments and share your conversion story with someone. Do you have a favorite conversion story? Share that story with someone.  There is an important principle established in Scripture (Proverbs 3:34, James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5). The principle is this, "God gives grace to the humble, but He opposes the proud." How have you seen this principle in your life or in the narrative of Scripture? The word translated "speak" in verse 13 is not a word used for teaching or preaching, it is a more casual word that means to have a personal conversation. Who shared in this way with you about Jesus? Who is someone in your life that you could share with about Jesus? The mystery of conversion is how all three of the concepts of conversion come together as one in a beautiful way. Does knowing all three of these concepts help you to better understand conversion? How? When conversion happens in a person's life, fruit is produced. In the conversion of Lydia, the fruit of hospitality is immediately produced. What kind of fruit have you seen produced in your life or in another person's life due to conversion?

Hey, friends, it's our 100th Episode!!!! We are so excited to have reached this mark! We are also very excited to have our guest for today….Christy Nockels! Can you even believe it?!? Christy has been a worship leader, singer, and songwriter for several decades. She also has her own podcast, Glorious in the Mundane. If that's not enough, she has a book she's written called, The Life You Long For, and has a new album close to release. Christy shared with us about her scary season of being faced with hearing loss after a virus. This hearing loss was thought to be permanent; however, God is still the God of miracles! She shares her journey with us today, and we are so thankful for her heart for the Lord and how He has used her gifts for His glory. Christy Nockels Biography: As a worship leader for over 25 years, Christy Nockels would tell you that her heart is to simply lead others to connect and communicate with the living God. Christy began writing music and singing in the church at a young age, as the daughter of a pastor in Oklahoma. She met musician, Nathan Nockels, in 1993 at the Christian Artist Seminar in Estes Park, Colorado and the two married in 1995. The couple would form the Christian music duo, Watermark, touring nationwide and recording five acclaimed albums, including seven number one radio singles from 1998 to 2005, before laying down their Watermark journey for the sake of their family. Christy and Nathan were also among those invited by Louie and Shelley Giglio to be a part of the very first Passion Conference in Austin, TX, in 1997, which flourished into a fruitful twenty years of the couple songwriting and leading for the Passion Movement. Christy's voice and heart can be heard on songs like, “Waiting Here For You,” as well as her songwriting featured on church anthems like, “Lord, I Need You,” and “Healing is in Your Hands.” Christy now records for Keeper's Branch Records, the couple's independent record label, where they've enjoyed releasing fan-favorites like Be Held; Lullabies for the Beloved. Christy also launched a podcast in 2016 called, “The Glorious in the Mundane,” which is intentionally focused on helping women in any season of life, find the wonder and awe of God in the moments of the here and now. Christy and Nathan live in Franklin, TN where they love to gather around the farm table and even make music with their three children, Noah, Elliana and Annie Rose. They also love to spend time making their home, affectionally called Keeper's Branch, a place of rest for all who gather there. Amidst a society of purpose-obsessed Millennials and upcoming Gen Z-ers, an anti-passion movement of nay-sayers has been gaining momentum over the last few years. They propose that following your passion is fruitless and unfulfilling, and will leave you stuck in analysis paralysis trying to find a dream job that doesn't exist. In this episode, I will share why I agree that, by their skewed definition of the term, "following your passion" is indeed a problem. You'll hear me share exactly what a passion is and how it should be considered in the context of other personal attributes to be able to make thorough, satisfying career decisions. Listen to this episode to know how to avoid falling into the so-called "passion trap" while also dodging the opposite extreme of excluding yourself from a passion-filled career altogether. -------------------------------------- 1:1 Coaching // Go from feeling stuck to confidently pursuing your life’s work in 7 weeks ➡️https://kelseykemp.com/1-1-coaching Instagram // @kelsey_thecalledcareer LinkedIn // www.linkedin.com/in/kelsey-janna-kemp Private Facebook Community // The Called Career Collective by Kelsey Kemp

One of the most influential ministries in the United States has got to be the Passion Conference, a ministry of Passion City Church. I've been following this ministry for 20 years, and it is so evident that God is moving through the worship ministry at Passion City Church. Even though Kristian Stanfill is at the center of this movement, making records and writing music heard all over the world, he knows that he would be nothing without the saving grace of Jesus. Kristian is a singer and songwriter. His most recent album, Mountains Move, is absolutely incredible. Today, Kristian is going to share all of the experiences and decisions that led him to this amazing ministry. You see for Kristian, it's not just about making records. For him, it's about capturing what God is doing in the people of his church. God is the vision, and he simply acts in faith. Kristian and I had the chance to talk about community, unique gifts, and God's call on our lives. I know you are going to love hearing the extreme faith that Kristian lives out every day! More in this episode: What it is like to be a part of the Passion City Church. Learn the story behind the Passion Mission. Kristian shares his own experiences by the Passion Movement. How Kristian learned how to write songs and express his love for God. Take your walk with God seriously. Get anchored to your church community. You don't have to promote yourself when you are seeking Jesus. What it was like for Kristian and his wife to move to Atlanta to plant a church. What happens when God calls you to give sacrificially. Kristian's biggest strength with Passion City is to see people. Pray for God to show you the people that you need to love. Kristian's biggest weakness is an inability to plan ahead. What's going on in Kristian's life that we need to know about. Get Kristian's “Back to the Future” answer! Resources: Passion City Church Instagram @PassionMusic

Ronald Reagan once famously said, “There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don’t care who gets the credit.” I mean, have truer words ever been spoken? I don’t think so. I love those words. I love the humility of them. I love the heart behind that sentiment. And I’d love to think that I live my life by those words every. single. day. But guess what? I don’t. It’s a real struggle for me. Words of affirmation are my love language. I’m just wired that way. It’s hard for me to let go of my need for recognition—even a simple thank you—when I contribute to something. Related: Letting Go of Getting Credit Can I Still Make a Difference If I Don’t Get Credit? Here’s the thing: It’s really not even about getting praise. When I don’t get credit, I feel disappointed because I’m left wondering if I accomplished what I set out to do. Did I help anyone? Was I good enough? Did I make any sort of impact at all? Well, once I take a second to get over myself, I realize the answer to that question is a resounding yes! Do you know how I know that? It’s because God calls each and every one of us to put others above ourselves. Period. And obsessing about being in the spotlight, getting a hundred “likes,” or millions of followers on social media is the exact opposite of doing that. Y’all, each and every one of us is meant for more than that. We’re bigger than that! In this episode, I’ll talk about: The difference between taking credit and needing credit Taking control of your own happiness and keeping your expectations in check How seeking credit can actually get in the way of the impact you’re trying to make Why a big platform doesn’t guarantee a big impact My Guest This Week Is Shelley Giglio! She creates stunning earrings, necklaces, and bracelets using Quartz and Quartz Crystal that she—get this—hand mines (yes, she digs each one out of the earth!) from The Ouachita Mountains in her home state of Arkansas. Although she has always considered herself to be entrepreneurial, Stacy didn’t set out to start a booming business. Instead, her jewelry line was born out of a desperate need for a creative outlet—she was hoping to remedy her nagging postpartum depression. It wasn’t until she started successfully selling her jewelry at local craft shows and markets that she dared to start dreaming bigger. Today, even Stacy is still surprised by her own success. Not only has she crushed even her loftiest revenue goals, she is also considering growing her team! She credits her business for something much bigger than entrepreneurial success: her business delivered her from years of depression and anxiety. Now she is on a mission to share her personal story of God’s redemption with her customers. As a result, Stacy has impacted countless lives in her own community and beyond—and she has no plans to stop. “It’s not about the jewelry anymore,” she explains. “It’s about Kingdom-building.” Related: Ep. 43—Balancing Faith in Business Y’all, does it get more impactful than that?
