Two of our least favorite things — long bus rides and whatever blue filter editors add in post — combine in an episode that isn't nearly as bad as it sounds. In 3×05, "Frayed," all of our favorite werewolves are having a horrible time on their long bus ride to a cross country meet, given their super-secret-stealthy fight with the alphas the night before. Isaac and Boyd are starting fights with the alphas, Scott is slowly dying from a very bad, alpha-inflicted wound, and Stiles is studying for the SATs. Luckily, the brains of the operation (Allison and Lydia) are following behind in a car. Good thing too, cause it turns out Scott's gonna need emergency roadside rest stop surgery!Everything unfolds against the backdrop of a surprise attack against the Alpha Pack from the night before, where not everyone got out unscathed. Is Scott's wound ever going to heal? Is Derek actually dead? Is it possible that their horrible day is going to turn into an even worse, horrible, terrible, no-good night?Grab your motion sickness bag, Jared. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.xoxo,FotRFind us on the Internet: https://linktr.ee/fandomontherocksSupport the pod: Patreon.com/fandomontherocksCreate your own podcast today with Zencastr and share your story. #madewithZencastr

They ask tough questions, including why figures such as Meir Kahane are resurfacing in popular discourse. With the rise of hardline religious Zionist factions, Mijal and Noam delve into what religious Zionism means today, its diversity and its role in Israel's security, politics, and peace efforts. Can you imagine being 20 years old and already having been burned in a fire, as well as having a rare neurological issue? That is what happened to our friend, Addison Hudler. She has overcome so many difficult situations, and is still standing strong in her faith. Addison is currently a junior at Ouachita Baptist University. You may remember her mother, Amber Hudler, was on our first episode, and also our guest for Episode #126. In that first episode, Amber also discussed some of the topics we talk about with Addison, but now you will hear from the daughter's perspective. These episodes go well together. Addison was only 7 years old when there was an accident during a bonfire that caused 2nd degree burns on her face and hand. She was 12 when she started to develop strange symptoms that sent her to many doctors and hospitals, with no answers for a long while. They did finally get answers and treatment, but not without continued work. There is a quote from Jeremy Freeman which Addison likes to quote. It is this: "Sometimes God gets the most glory when someone is healed on earth. Sometimes God gets the most glory when someone is healed in heaven, and sometimes God gets the most glory when someone spends a lifetime enduring." The DEA recently pulled its surveillance plane out of Mexico due to increasing operational restrictions and political tensions with the Mexican government. This aircraft, a twin-turboprop King Air, had been stationed in Toluca, Mexico, for decades and played a crucial role in anti-narcotics missions. It transported elite Mexican forces and U.S. agents for rapid response operations against drug cartels, including major raids and extraditions of cartel leaders.Problems for the DEA began after President Andrés Manuel López Obrador took office in late 2018. The Mexican Secretariat of National Defense started requiring a written request two weeks before any flight, severely limiting the flexibility needed for effective anti-narcotics operations. Despite efforts to negotiate with the Mexican government, the DEA's use of the plane stagnated.Mexico's Attorney General's Office asked the DEA to vacate its hangar space at Toluca airport, prompting the agency to move the aircraft to Texas. This decision is expected to significantly hinder the DEA's capabilities in Mexico, making it more challenging to conduct operations.  (commercial at 11:50)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/exclusive-us-anti-drugs-agency-pulls-plane-mexico-fresh-cooperation-blow-2022-05-11/

Jessica Callahan has such a fascinating story! When she was five years old, her father was arrested and imprisoned. During his incarceration, he learned about Jesus and gave his life to the Lord. This changed the whole trajectory of his life! Jessica and I (Jill) met while serving at God Behind Bars, a ministry that goes into prisons to share the gospel with those behind bars. When I heard her story of why she serves, I knew we needed to have her tell her story. She also helps lead worship once a month when going into the prison. Jessica joined the Navy and served for 12 years. She is very adventurous and tells us about her love for skydiving which she has been doing since 2008. She is a go-getter and loves being in the air! The main thing she shares today is about overcoming a dependence on alcohol. This was a tough journey as she began to realize she was using it to cope and to self-medicate. There was pain she was numbing and needed to finally come to grips with. It forced her to become humble and search for help. Though not an easy road, she is now 861 days sober! Then in 2016 she had the joy of meeting eight out of her twelve blood-related brothers and sisters! However, 2016 ended up being a rough year for her. Four months after her joyous reunion with her birth family, her husband suddenly passed away. They had been married for 32 years and had built a wonderful life together. She also had several other close relatives pass away soon after that in a very short amount of time. It was grief upon grief. Yet, she carried on. Kelley talks about grief and what happens when it is pushed down, eventually it has to show. She also discusses how she took care of others and provided a place of respite for others during this difficult time. She is an example of love and keeping open hands. She encourages all of us to minister to the one person that God places in your life each day, however small that may appear. It is not small to God. 'Ultra-Orthodox Israelis are at the peak of their power and they don't pay a price in war'

The controversy in Israel over the exemption of ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students from military service "has reached a boiling point," former Haaretz journalist and author Yair Ettinger tells host Allison Kaplan Sommer on the Haaretz Podcast. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has continually delayed confronting the issue in his years in power, Ettinger notes. But this week, the High Court's deadline for either enshrining exemptions in legislation or enlisting yeshiva students expired. And it did so during a war in which Israelis serving in the army have made tremendous sacrifices, and amid severe discontent with Netanyahu's coalition, which depends on ultra-Orthodox support. And so, Ettinger says, Israelis who disliked but tolerated the ability of the ultra-Orthodox to avoid army service in the past have now "run out of patience." "There is a big dissonance in Israel right now regarding the Haredim. Why? Because they are at the peak of their political power, and yet they don't share the duties [of defending the country]." On one hand, "they are the government. They have been the senior partners of Netanyahu for many, many years. And now, when we have an existential moment, and we are fighting a really difficult war, they don't pay any price." Ettinger, author of the book, "Frayed, the Disputes Unraveling Religious Zionists," also looks at how the judicial overhaul battle is inextricably intertwined with the military exemption controversy, and discusses the growing rift in Orthodox society over religion and society, the role of women and tolerance of LGBTQ individuals. That rift, he says, is exemplified at the Pride Parade each year, where "you can see many religious Zionists marching and many others [among] them protesting against the parade." He also notes that while the Gaza war has underlined the cracks between secular Israelis and their Diaspora counterparts, "the opposite is true" among the Orthodox. "Today, they are closer than ever," Ettinger says.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

As the war in Gaza rages on, the influence of the Religious Zionist party, led by figures like Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir, looms large over the direction of the Israeli government. With key ministerial positions in hand, they wield considerable power in shaping policies not only concerning the ongoing war but also regarding broader societal issues such as military service, national identity and economic affairs. Today, we're going to take a close look at this pivotal shift in Israeli society with our distinguished guest, Yair Ettinger, an Israeli journalist and the author of the illuminating new book, "Frayed: The Disputes Unraveling Religious Zionists", Ettinger's work provides invaluable insights into the challenges facing the Religious Zionist movement, which has become increasingly influential within Israeli politics and society. She grew up with amazing parents whom she loves dearly, and for whom she is extremely grateful. She feels so blessed. They were supportive of her and made her feel special. Through all of this, she was still interested in meeting her birth mother, to thank her for giving her life and to find out if she knew Christ. Her mother also used to say she wanted to meet her to thank her. She got this chance through Ancestry.com when one of Rhonda's sons decided to try it. It became an amazing story that you can hear today. Katelyn and her husband, Noah, have been married for eleven years. They have two children and were high school sweethearts. Imagine living in a place you love, in a community you adore, when you are told suddenly one day you can't live there anymore. You are ushered out in a matter of days. That is what happened to Melissa Robinson and her family when they were working as field workers for a sending organization on a small island. The new government decided they were no longer welcome. Chris and Melissa Robinson and their three boys now live and work in Latvia. It is an interesting, exciting place that we don't often hear about in the USA. Melissa has used her gift of playing guitar and singing Latvian music to invite their community members to attend house music concerts in their home. She shares the gospel in song and finds open doors for sharing Christ through music. She also volunteers for Lighthouse Latvia- an organization that cares for people who have aged out of their school system. Additionally, Melissa and two of her friends have collaborated to create a podcast together called "It's Tea Time Somewhere". The Robinson family has a story of faithfulness even when questioning what is happening. It's very applicable to all of us. #afrayedknotpodcast #itsteatimesomewherepodcast #latvia #questioning #trustHim

This story today is so precious! We are excited to welcome Lori Beth Fowble! Lori Beth is married to Arin and, between them, they have four children. Lori Beth teaches us what it means to have the audacity to hope again! After going through a devastating divorce that rocked her world, she eventually reconnected with an old friend who helped spark that hope. She shares her heart openly and is vulnerable about not wanting to walk through this pain, but understanding that Jesus also had to walk through pain He didn't necessarily want to walk through. If God never wastes our pain, then we shouldn't either. She is a great example of "holding the lantern" for others going through similar burdens in which we can use our experiences to help. You don't always move on from things, but you move forward. You are going to be encouraged by her words. April Brown and her family have spent many years reaching people overseas for the gospel! They spent a lot of time in the Czech Republic before moving to Italy. April and her husband, Steve, have been married for 25 years and have four kids, and they are missionaries with the International Mission Board. A few of their children are attending college in the United States. Imagine being in another country and getting a call that one of them was in a horrible car accident in California. That is what happened to them. They had to really trust that God was in control, no matter what. This story has a happy ending and there were wonderful people who stepped in to help their daughter until they could get there. The way these events took place is truly miraculous; their daughter Chloe was covered in protection. April tells us that God is faithful, always, even in the valleys. Catch that subject line? It's not your relationship. It's you.  Slightly provocative? Yes. Likely true on the deepest level? Also yes.  Almost everything that I've had to apologize for in a relationship––or that I've wanted an apology for, had to do with my nervous system being too jacked or too drained.  The current human reality (you, me, the planet…) We're generally dysregulated, out of balance. We're fried. Frayed. AND… We are Love. We want to show up as Love. We want to receive Love. We want to give Love.  And whether we're conscious of it or not, we know on some level that our relationships are THE vehicle for healing, self-awareness, for getting closer to our Higher Self… It ALL happens in relationships.  Episode #91 of WITH LOVE, DANIELLE is the third in a 3 part conversation on nervous system regulation. It's about learning how to meet our triggers (hello, Inner Child and everyone in the world who's triggering my Inner Child.) And then processing those triggers more mindfully, often physically, so that we don't have to owe––or demand more apologies. In this session we explore: Why we keep trying to solve the wrong problems in our relationships The relational symptoms of nervous system imbalance (overstaying, bickering, the silent treatment and the blame game…) Simple ways to get centered in heated or heartbreaking interactions How to get OUT of the loop of unhealthy behaviors/situations and a dysregulated nervous system––so we can unwire lifelong default stress responses that hinder love, intimacy, expression, and intuition. When the nervous system is strong, then our relating is strong. Less wigging, more loving.  To less friction and more freedom. ICYMI here's: 4 Types of Stress Response––what's yours? 9 Ways We Add Stress to Our Lives Mentioned in this episode: This episode is a recording of the most popular class I've ever taught: From Friction to Freedom.
