In the tradition of Dale Clark's memorable fan publications, comes the Dark Shadows Podcast of Questions & Answers volume THREE! In this installment, Penny Dreadful addresses the following questions: How did Roxanne become a vampire in the unaltered 1840? Why isn't Chris Jennings' brother Tom also werewolf? Was Angelique really at Collinwood in the original run of 1897, as we see in a flashback? Is it an error that silver bullets can be used to destroy vampires on Dark Shadows? How can Barnabas be rendered unconscious in a car accident if he's a vampire? Why does Josette's music box play two different themes? What happened to the blackmail money that Elizabeth Collins Stoddard deposited into a Swiss bank account for Jason McGuire? When the ghost of Sarah Collins says, “Those who were here before have come back, and they're angry, and there's someone in this house they want to destroy,” to whom is she referring? The episode ends with promotion for other Dark Shadows and horror-related podcasts, shows, books, and projects. Have you ever wondered what the natural world was like before the flood? And how does that line up with the imagery we have in our minds about the animals on Noah's Ark? Paul Garner joins to discuss his book "The Fossils and the Flood" and gives a picture of what the old world may have been like, with floating forests, and the ancestors of modern animals that may have been on the ark. Fossils can tell an incredible story about our Earth's distant past. In this conversation, we dig into these geological remnants to uncover the mysteries behind the Genesis Flood. Can fossils provide sufficient evidence to support the creationist perspective? Paul Garner, a full-time researcher and lecturer for Biblical Creation Trust, sits down to weigh in… Paul has an MSc in Geoscience from University College London, where he studied palaeobiology. He has written over 50 creationist papers and is the author of The New Creationism and Fossils and the Flood. With years of research experience under his belt, Paul has explored many corners of our Earth's geological history. Listen in now to learn more about his findings! Join the discussion to find out: What fossils records are, and the things they reveal about ancient Earth. How creationists and evolutionists explain the formation of ancient rock layers. What made it into the fossil record during the Genesis Flood. How the marine environment differs from the pre-flood to post-flood world. Want to learn more about Paul and his work? Click here! Various natural processes seem to favor the earth being only thousands of years old.
A young earth perspective on the question of ice age(s) and ice cores.
Primitive living conditions of ancient mankind were due to factors other than having intelligence inferior to ours.
Pre-flood ecological zones and the relationship of their inhabitants to fossils in the geological record.
Interpreting the Fossil Record from a Standard Evolutionary Perspective is Problematic for a Number of Reasons.
Three central features of the theory of catastrophic plate tectonics and the theory's explanatory superiority.
Mankind's growth rate and advanced intelligence favor a young age for humanity.
The amount of helium present in zircons is explained by a young earth and accelerated nuclear decay.
Data of radiometric dating is better explained by accelerated nuclear decay and a young earth.
Though there are significant reasons that support the hypothesis of the catastrophic formation of sedimentary rock layers, there have been some challenges to that view.
Widespread Coal Beds and Cross-Bedded Sandstones support the hypothesis that sedimentary rock layers were formed catastrophically.
Turbidites favor the hypothesis of catastrophic formation of sedimentary rock layers.
Paul Larson argues that uniformitarianism should not be an obstacle to believing in young earth creationism.
Paul Garner and Paul Larson talk about scientific evidence supporting the view that the earth is only thousands of years old.
Earlier this month, internet giants Google (Alphabet Inc.), Amazon, and Cloudflare revealed they'd blocked a cyber attack that Google said was seven times bigger than anything seen before. Fortunately, they fended it off. But with more businesses using the cloud to store so much data, it's a salient reminder of the need to be taking cyber security seriously. Sean Aylmer talks to Paul Garner, the co-founder and COO of the Australian cloud security platform Plerion, about the biggest vulnerabilities and risks for Australian businesses. I share with you my recent experience of having Covid and the mindbody medicine informed methods I used to help me decrease fear and recover without lingering symptoms. I share other recovery stories and first person information about people who have recovered from lingering symptoms colloquially known as "long covid". I hope that my process is helpful for you. If you would like to chat with me - here's a link to book a free Curiosity Call - https://calendly.com/paincoachdeb RESOURCES What different people across the mindbody medicine field are discovering are the similarities between Covid symptoms and other long term chronic pain/illness symptoms and how the pain-fear-pain cycle plays into the perpetuation of symptoms after the body has recovered. So using this same approach they're seeing good responses. Here's some resources that I've both listened to or read directly or have been told about through my colleagues.https://www.positivelycovid.org/https://www.longcovidcured.com/ - this has some great recovery stories - including Paul Garner, infectious disease Dr. https://www.longcovidcured.com/about - this is a lovely list of various resources. I can offer people 6 weeks free of the Curable app if anyone wants to try that.https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/jun/10/long-covid-hope-recovery-symptoms - Dr. Garner's story of recoveryhttps://www.recoverynorway.org/2023/01/23/long-covid-recovery-gary/ - I like how Gary describes his understanding of the mindbody recovery process.https://www.thismighthurtfilm.com/long-covid - Neuroplastic pain recovery resources from the team at This Might Hurt documentaryhttps://youtu.be/4vF0XNBTv9A - Interview with Dr. Schubiner, explaining the mindbody process to address Long CovidThis is probably MORE than enough. It's all pretty much the same content (how to change the body experience, through retraining the brain) just through different lenses. Happy to share more. I think just learning that recovery is possible even begins the change due to predictive processing.

What happens when you become the patient? That's what we're here to explore today -- with this episode's theme: Heal Thyself. Think about it. We diagnose and often intervene with medicines, surgeries, treatments. These interventions generally temporize and support the body, so that the body can heal itself. The concept of "healing" thyself, then, really does often have to accept that modern medicine can't do the healing. Sometimes we have to do it ourselves. And sometimes that's more mind than matter. Today, we have three incredible stories for you -- by three different doctors, of three different specialties, who all share a story of how they "Healed Thyself" of a disease in their very area of expertise. Chapter 1. Researcher Turned COVID Long-Hauler (3:04) -- A story of knowledge and recovery. Story by Paul Garner, MD. Chapter 2. I'm a Neurologist With Alzheimer's (15:52) -- How knowledge helped one doctor's uncertainty. Story by Daniel Gibbs, MD, PhD. Chapter 3. Prayer's Place in Treatment (25:50) -- "Dr. Hope" credits his remission, in part, to tens of thousands of strangers. Story by Gary Onik, MD. Episode produced by Judy George Hosted by Amy Ho, MD Sound engineering by Greg Laub Theme music by Palomar

When I was going through the worst of COVID, I felt alone, isolated & misunderstood. No-one I knew was experiencing anything like I was. Then I read an article about Professor Paul Garner (Prof of infectious diseases), describing his experiences with Corona Virus & realised there were others like me. "He had a muggy head, upset stomach, tinnitus, pins and needles, breathlessness, dizziness and arthritis in the hands. Each time Garner thought he was getting better the illness roared back. It was a sort of virus snakes and ladders. “It's deeply frustrating. A lot of people start doubting themselves,” he says. “Their partners wonder if there is something psychologically wrong with them.”" (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/15/weird-hell-professor-advent-calendar-covid-19-symptoms-paul-garner) Paul Garner started the first "long hauler" support group, but it took me a while to find one myself. Since joining the group I have realised that many people are not being listened to - they are called hypochondriacs, crazy or told they are just suffering anxiety. These stories need to be heard. So that others don't feel so alone & so loved ones of people going through this, may understand.
This week the technology took over and chose the songs, it's always fun dong this because we end up discovering some of the very best music that I've forgotten about, along with some of the very best classics. Not everyone with COVID ends up in hospital. Sufferers are beginning to report a disturbing post-viral syndrome of deep, extended fatigue, weakness, “brain fog”, anxiety and weird physical sensations that they're calling “Long COVID”. Paul Garner of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine tells Naomi Smith about his own strange and debilitating ten-week experience with Long COVID – and explains why employers and medical professionals need to take it seriously. “I felt very fatigued, with brain fogs, my heart was racing… it felt like my life was draining out of me.”“I used to do an hour of intense yoga regularly. Now I do 15 minutes and I'm floored for two days.” “This disease messes with your head. I've woken up in a very low mood, in tears… then later in the day I'll be fine.”“This is very similar to ME and long-term fatigue… And patients are not being believed by employers and health professionals.” Presented by Naomi Smith. Produced by Andrew Harrison. Assistant producer Jacob Archbold. Music by Kenny Dickinson. Audio production by Alex Rees. This week we talk about COVID19 and what it's really like to have the virus. Talking to Adelina Chalmers, who first started experiencing symptoms 8 weeks ago - and was admitted to the hospital 6 weeks ago - talks about how it has been mis-sold as being just like the flu. Adelina is a podcaster and runs a consultancy called ‘The Geek Whisperer' which helps engineers and their managers communicate with each other. Going through day by day symptoms, Adelina tells us how symptoms are non linear, and how it got worse just as it seemed like she was getting better. This episode has great tips, including the importance of recording your symptoms if you start getting sick, because the more data you can give healthcare professionals, the better you can help them guide decision-making. However, it turns out this is not the case with deworming initiatives in countries such as Africa and India. Paul Garner, co-author of the Cochrane review on the topic, explains what's going on. And Michael Wilson, instructor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic, gives us some advice on diagnosing Klinefelter's syndrome.
We were privileged to have Paul Garner visit us from Biblical Creation Ministries. In this message, Paul shares some insights into Darwin's life, his theories, and the ways in which God tried to reach out to him. This talk was given as a response to the anniversary of Darwin's book in 2009.
