On this episode of Next on the Tee I'm joined by the grandson of Bobby Jones, Dr. Bob Jones IV, 2013 Southern California PGA Teacher of the Year Joe Grohman, and 5 time winner on Tour Richard Zokol. Dr. Bob Jones IV gave us an update on the new Bobby Jones golf complex being built in Atlanta. It's a very unique reversible 9 hole layout with dual green complexes. The course can be played anywhere from 5,800 yards to 7,400 yards. We also talked about the mental side of the game and how we can all learn to be more positive and have an approach similar to what we see from Brooks Koepka. Joe Groham talked about the great work his foundation is doing to help wounded veterans learn or re-learn the game of golf. He shared stories of veterans who said they were about to "eat a bullet" before attending one of his clinics and how golf saved their lives. For years Joe was the Head Golf Pro at the Navy Golf Course in Seal Beach, California where Earl and Tiger Woods were members. Joe talked about how 13 year old Tiger learned his incredible focus while Earl would make noise during his swing. He also talked about the racism Tiger dealt with while they were members there, including the pro shop not wanting to display his US Amateur trophy.
