Sharing a personal story, we highlight the difference this kind of insider advice can make, especially when tackling unfamiliar terrain. The app's evolution not only aids in improving gameplay but also cultivates a sense of community among golf enthusiasts. In our discussion, we also look at the broader aspects of enjoying golf, emphasizing the importance of expert advice and how it can be turned into accessible audio clips. These tips come from various golf course personnel and are aimed at enhancing both skill level and pace of play. I share insights into the simple joy of golfing with friends, the setting of personal challenges, and the strategic choice to save your best swings for the game, not practice. Ron Sullivan from Pro Tips Golf joins the conversation, shedding light on how these elements merge to uplift the golfing experience for players of all skill sets. Wrapping up, the conversation shifts to the integral role golf plays in forging and strengthening relationships, using the backdrop of the Myrtle Beach Classic and the famed Kiawah Island's Ocean Course to discuss the game's social and business benefits. From humorous tales on links-style courses to the candid revelation of one's character during a round, we cover the gamut of golf's influence. Trump Wins South Carolina, Beating Haley in Her Home State

Just like we all predicted, Donald Trump has emerged triumphant over Nikki Haley in her native state of South Carolina, skillfully narrowing Haley's slender chance at the nomination. The voters of the Palmetto State, known for their knack of electing the party's final candidate, placed Trump in an advantageous position to secure the Republican nomination well ahead of the summer convention in Milwaukee. Trump's campaign has been successfully cruising through the initial voting states, securing pronounced victories and delegates in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada. Haley, who once served under Trump's administration as the ambassador to the United Nations, suffered a hardened blow with this defeat in her home state. This loss has shifted the nomination even further away from the grasp of Haley, notwithstanding her campaign's dogged resolution to continue pressing forward. Amid these challenging times, Haley's campaign proclaimed plans of a substantial national cable and digital buy ahead of the anticipated Super Tuesday on 5 March. Haley is also plainspeaking on her campaign commitment, organizing a rally in Michigan on the following Sunday, which is slated to hold its primary on 27 February. As part of her indefatigable persistence, Haley is venturing on a marathon journey through several other potential Super Tuesday states. Her firm stance against withdrawing from the race has sparked annoyance among Trump and his supporters. Critics of Haley's continue, insisting that she is fighting a losing battle, comparing her to David locked in a battle with Goliath. They accuse her of depending heavily on affluent benefactors to uphold her campaign, undermining the imminent and probable outcome. Yet despite the grand opposition, Haley's followers staunchly defend her participation in the race, viewing her as a symbol of the potential future shape of the Republican party. Admirers of Haley, who is 52, surmise she may be meticulously preparing for a future prospective presidential run. In an extraordinary case where Trump could no longer represent the party as its nominee, Haley seems to be positioning herself as the next logical choice. This theoretical opportunity arises amid Trump facing from an onslaught of 91 felony charges, in addition to increasing legal expenses and looming financial penalties. In an ironic turn of events, Trump has been resorting to his campaign fund to mitigate these financial liabilities. Haley, during her public appearances, reminds voters that it is anomalous for a candidate to be dedicating more time to legalities than campaigning. She voices her concerns over a candidate using contributors' funds to handle their legal obligations. However, Trump's legal adversities, originating in part from claims of attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential elections results and his perceived part in the storming of the US Capitol on 6 January, have paradoxically consolidate his supporter base. In a testament to his confidence, Trump's campaign has already begun to shift focus towards the general election against Joe Biden, who appears to be set for his party's nomination, unhampered by serious primary competition. In an assertive move, Trump's team has been actively asserting control over the Republican National Committee, which is expected to remain unbiased during the primary. The day, filled with political tension, was kicked off by Trump in Washington, where he delivered a stirring speech at the influential Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) before returning to South Carolina for a revelatory election-night watch party in Columbia, the state capital. Earlier on the same day, Haley participated in her civic responsibility of casting her ballot on Kiawah Island, the precinct she calls home. As the day drew near its conclusion, her 'Beast of the Southeast' bus tour made a pit stop in Charleston. The evening was scheduled to conclude with Haley delivering remarks at an election night watch party, a fitting end to a pivotal day. REVIEW: Biden to visit Charleston's Mother Emanuel AME Church 'Why?' asked Duke Buckner, a candidate for SC's 6th US Congressional District:''On Monday, President Biden is scheduled to be at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston. This is the church where nine parishioners were murdered during a bible study in 2015. The last reported time President Biden was in South Carolina was in the summer of 2022 when he was vacationing on luxurious Kiawah Island. Now, less than a year before the 2024 presidential election, he will be visiting a historic Black church in Charleston. Why?'Take a listen to more and click here for the full print context of Buckner's published review:'It is my sincere hope that President Biden will speak at the church about reconciliation and healing; the love of God and how we should love our neighbor as ourself. I hope he will talk about how we can come together as Americans and not allow ourselves to be divided by race, gender, political or socio-economic lines. He should not disrespect or dishonor the Church or its members by making offensive racist comments like he did at the Congressional Black Caucus dinner last year where he called famed Hip Hop Artist LL Cool J a “Boy”.'Special thanks to Disaster Plus for powering this #BigFailFriday edition of the Kelly Golden Show Podcast

We wholeheartedly believe that a well-designed home not only reflects your personal style but also has a significant financial impact on its sale or rental value. That's why we wanted to share an insightful interview with Kathleen DeWitt, a renowned real estate agent from Charleston, who sheds light on the importance of good design in the local real estate market. In our conversation with Kathleen, she emphasizes how an aesthetically appealing home can truly make a difference when it comes to attracting potential buyers or tenants. She discusses the positive impacts of thoughtful design choices and how they can set your property apart from the competition.   KEY TAKEAWAYS: A professionally designed home can help a property be more marketable, sell faster and you get your money two-fold in return. If something is very well done, a homeowner doesn't need to panic on how it will present itself. You don't have to do “vanilla” and worry that a future homeowner won't like it. Don't be afraid of navy-blue cabinets or wallpaper. A designer can come into a home that is already furnished and can make edits with a space plan, removing or adding objects and give it a special “flare” that just makes it show better!   RESOURCE LINKS: Kandrac & Kole Website Kandrac & Kole on Instagram Kandrac & Kole on YouTube   BIO:  Kandrac & Kole was voted one of Atlanta's Top 20 Residential Interior Designs by the Atlanta Business Chronicle and has been featured on HGTV as well as in The New York Times, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Better Homes & Gardens, Southern Home Magazine, and many others as well as participants of the One Room Challenge Spring 2020. Kandrac & Kole has established a well-known reputation for their approachable, dynamic personalities, signature use of color and pattern, and one-of-a-kind, custom designs. As industry experts for residential and commercial design, Joann Kandrac & Kelly Kole share upbeat and entertaining narratives regarding their design projects, travels, and personal stories on their popular blog, their podcast, and via national speaking engagements. Joann and Kelly's love and commitment to the power of interior design also extends towards their charity work throughout the U.S. and Guatemala. ABOUT KATHLEEN Kathleen's journey in Kiawah Island real estate began in 2012 but her roots on Kiawah run deep, having spent over a decade at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort before joining Akers Ellis Real Estate And Rentals, the #1 MLS company on Kiawah Island. What truly distinguishes Kathleen is her remarkable ability to establish meaningful connections with people and her keen eye for design. She has quite an outstanding track record, just since 2020 she has sold over 200 million in real estate. She's not just a realtor; she's also a passionate home design enthusiast who understands firsthand the profound impact professionally designed homes have on selling and renting. She has been awarded Salesperson of The Year for 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022. When Kathleen is not busy selling real estate, she loves spending time with her family. From Town Council Member Michael Heidingsfelder (mheidingsfelder@kiawahisland.org): Our family first visited Kiawah Island in 1999 and instantly fell in love with its nature, beach, and relaxing setting. We purchased our home in 2004 and moved here full-time in 2015. We love this island, as do our children, who come here as often as they can.My Master's education in Engineering and Business Administration prepared me well for my roles as COO and CEO with large private and public cooperations in the consulting, automotive, and instrumentation industries. Building companies from the ground up and enhancing the professionalism of organizations to be best prepared for the challenges in their businesses, improving customer satisfaction and leading them to financial stability have been at the core of my career. These always global business responsibilities have taken me frequently to many countries and cultures worldwide. But whenever I passed the first gate, I was home.Several years ago, I started to engage in matters important to this island. First with ongoing service to the Lowcountry Foodbank and then as a member of the TOKI Noise Ordinance Workgroup. Earlier this year, I was appointed to the TOKI Planning Commission. This involvement made me realize that we as a joint community – with all stakeholders from residents and property owners to TOKI and KICA, the ARB, the Partners, and the Resort – need to develop a thoughtful and comprehensive vision for the future of our island. Foremost, to answer the remaining questions: How do we as a community want to be recognized 10+ years from now? What do we not want to look like in a few years? We have seen positive development in the past. Still, today we are facing challenges triggered by both man and nature: There is an increasing concern in the community about over-development, rising traffic, the impact of a changing environment and rising sea levels, not always transparent decisionmaking processes, a gap in communication about important matters to the community and – unfortunately – sometimes a lack of civil cooperation among certain stakeholders. I believe that our joint community wants a meaningful and transparent resolution of these challenges without harming our neighborhoods and the island envisioned as a perfect synergy between nature and modern life.I promise to the community that I will do my best to help preserve, protect and enhance life on Kiawah and foster collaboration between the community and our governance.

Bobcat Guardian (Linked here)From Town Council Member Bradley D. Belt (bbelt@kiawahisland.org): Along with our four-legged girl, Folly, Laura and I live in the RiverView neighborhood. After visiting over the years, we bought a home in 2019, intending to split our time between Washington, DC, and Kiawah. During the pandemic, we realized how much we enjoyed life here and decided to make Kiawah our permanent home, becoming full-time residents in 2020.Before semi-retiring a year ago, I had spent the last decade and a half in executive roles with asset management and investment banking firms. Prior to that, I had been privileged to serve in the Administration of President George W. Bush as the head of the agency responsible for overseeing and ensuring private sector pension plans. I've had leadership roles with two “think tanks,” and early in my career, I served in senior counsel roles at the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.Throughout my career, I have served on the fiduciary or advisory boards of various companies, nonprofit organizations, and professional associations. Currently, I serve on the executive board of a private equity firm and the board of UNICEF USA (Mid- Atlantic). My previous service includes a Presidential appointment to the Social Security Advisory Board and the Board of Trustees of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation, as well as several private companies and organizations On Kiawah, I am on the board of the RiverView POA and was one of the founders of PreserveKiawah. In many respects, we are at an inflection point for life on and around Kiawah Island. We are nearing the end of growth on Kiawah but aren't there yet. And there is going to be substantial additional development and growth off Island. This growth has profound implications for our physical infrastructure, fragile natural ecosystem, and quality of life on and around Kiawah. I believe that the Town of Kiawah needs to play a leadership role in addressing the challenges we face, and we can best do so by engaging the community and working collaboratively with all stakeholders

Today on the Lean to the Left podcast we're talking politics with a focus on the past election and what's still ahead, and with me are my pals, Arthur Hill, from North Carolina, and Robert Thompson, from Georgia. Arthur is communications chair of the Brunswick County, North Carolina, Democratic party. He and I both worked in PR and as freelance writers in Washington, DC. And, on Capitol Hill before that.Robert Thompson is based in Atlanta and founded Peach News Now and its opinion podcast, Got Damn Liberals. You gotta take a listen.Nationally, Democrats did surprisingly well, holding onto the Senate – even though the Georgia race is headed to a runoff – and minimizing losses in the House, where the Republicans will take over in January with a much thinner margin than they expected.Trump says he's running in 2024, a development that has been met with underwhelming approval of top Republican leaders who blame him for what they feel is pretty much an election debacle. Whether his announcement matters much will depend on the outcome of the many investigations into his activities and whether he faces criminal charges. After all, election day 2024 is still two years away. In South CarolinaHere in my neck of the woods in South Carolina, election night was a clean sweep -- for Republicans, who overwhelmingly reelected Gov. Henry McMaster and Sen. Tim Scott, sent a MAGA Republican to Congress, elected someone who didn't actually meet educational requirements to be Secretary of Education, and swept three local state legislative races. The only positive news is that the winners of the 2022 Rescue Brew “Spokesdog” and “Spokescat” contest have been chosen, with almost $82,000 raised for the Charleston Animal Society's No Kill South Carolina initiative.Beaux, a 10-month-old Maine Coon from Kiawah Island was picked as the “Spokescat” and Wally, a seven-year-old West Highland terrier-mix rescued during Hurricane Matthew was elected as “Spokesdog.”So that just shows that progressives really can get things done in South Carolina, despite the odds. We just can't elect humans to office. In GeorgiaNow in Georgia, we have that runoff going on between Sen. Warnock and Herschel Walker. So, Robert, let's get right to it...Listen to the podcast...Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-lean-to-the-left-podcast--4719048/support.

California church that was fined over $200K for defying COVID-19 restrictions gets fines dropped https://www.foxnews.com/us/california-church-fined-200k-defying-covid-19-restrictions-fines-dropped A California church that continued to hold services in defiance of county health orders that it close down during the COVID-19 pandemic has had its fines dropped after a nearly two-year battle. "This is a significant victory for churches and pastors across this country," Robert Tyler, president of Advocates for Faith & Freedom, said in a press release after the California Court of Appeal reversed an injunction against Calvary Chapel San Jose. "We are honored to represent pastors and churches who are willing to take the heat in defense of liberty because it benefits everyone." At issue was the church's refusal to comply with health officials in Santa Clara County, who obtained a temporary restraining order and injunction in November 2020 against Calvary Chapel and two pastors, Mike McClure and Carson Atherly, after the church failed to follow pandemic health orders that included restrictions on in-person services, mask mandates, and a submission to the county of the church's social distancing protocols. The defiance eventually resulted in over $200,000 in fines for the church, which continued to hold worship services as the monetary penalties mounted. Calvary Chapel's persistence eventually paid off. The California Court of Appeal reversed the injunction, contempt orders, and fines on Monday. "For the reasons stated below, we conclude that the temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions are facially unconstitutional pursuant to the recent guidance of the United States Supreme Court regarding the First Amendment’s protection of the free exercise of religion in the context of public health orders that impact religious practice," the court said in the ruling. "As the underlying orders which Calvary Chapel violated are void and unenforceable, we will annul the orders of contempt in their entirety and reverse the orders to pay monetary sanctions." Biden signs $739 billion Inflation Reduction Act into law, slams GOP for voting against the tax, climate deal https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-signs-739-billion-inflation-reduction-act-law-slams-gop-voting-against-tax-climate-deal President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law on Tuesday, saying "the American people won, and the special interests lost" with the new legislation and touting Democratic support while slamming Republicans for not backing the bill. The president returned to the White House after a week-long vacation in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Biden was joined by House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer during an event in the State Dining Room at the White House. "With this law, the American people won, and the special interests lost," Biden said Tuesday. "This administration began amid a dark time in America … a once-in-a-century pandemic, devastating joblessness, clear and present threats to democracy and the rule of law, doubts about America's future itself — and yet we've not wavered, we've not flinched, and we've not given in." Biden said, instead, the law will "deliver results for the American people." "We didn't tear down. We built up. We didn't look back. We look forward," Biden said. "And today, today, offers further proof that the soul of America is vibrant. The future of America is bright, and the promise of America is real. And just beginning." The bill, which was passed by the Senate earlier this month and the House of Representatives last week, costs an estimated $437 billion, with $369 billion going toward investments in "Energy Security and Climate Change," according to a summary by Senate Democrats. Vice President Kamala Harris cast a tie-breaking vote to allow the legislation to pass, 51-50, in the Senate, and the House passed the legislation a few days later. "I am confident this bill will endure as one of the greatest legislative feats in decades," said Schumer, D-N.Y. "In normal times, getting these bills done would be a huge achievement, but to do now, with only 50 Democratic votes in the Senate over an intransigent Republican minority, is nothing short of amazing." Schumer thanked Biden for his leadership during the Tuesday event, and he thanked his Democratic colleagues, including Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., for joining together to pass the package, saying it shows "how dedicated and persistent our caucus is." Democrats project that the legislation will reduce the deficit by bringing in $737 billion. This includes an estimated $124 billion from IRS tax enforcement, the projected result of hiring 87,000 new IRS agents who will ramp up audits. The bill also imposes a 15% corporate minimum tax that the Joint Committee on Taxation predicts will raise $222 billion, and prescription drug pricing reform that the Senate estimates will bring in $265 billion. The Congressional Budget Office said the bill will have "a negligible effect" on inflation in 2022, and in 2023 its impact would range between reducing inflation by 0.1% and increasing it by 0.1%. Judge declines request to block Georgia's fetal heartbeat law that bans some abortions https://justthenews.com/nation/states/center-square/fulton-county-judge-declines-request-block-georgias-fetal-heartbeat-law Fulton County Superior Court judge declined a request to block Georgia's fetal heartbeat law that bans most abortions after six weeks. Georgia lawmakers passed House Bill 481, the Living Infants Fairness Equality Act, in 2019. However, a federal judge initially blocked the law, commonly called the "Heartbeat Bill," because the U.S. Supreme Court had previously upheld the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling. After the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Georgia officials asked the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to reverse the district court decision, and a federal appeals judge ruled the law could take effect. The move officials prompted a group of pro-abortion doctors and advocates to file a lawsuit in Fulton County Superior Court. "The court's decision today declining to block the abortion ban is extremely disappointing and leaves in place a law that severely compromises the quality of women's healthcare in the state of Georgia," Andrea Young, executive director of the ACLU of Georgia, said in an announcement. "Ultimately, the power is with Georgia voters to affirm our right to privacy and to make personal, private and intimate decisions without government interference." Opponents of the law said the ruling is not final and that it denied immediate "emergency relief" to block HB 481. In a news release, opponents said they planned to continue their fight. Kara Richardson, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Chris Carr, declined to comment, saying the case is ongoing. Katie Byrd and Andrew Isenhour, spokespeople for Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, did not respond to a request from The Center Square for comment. This is Gabriel Rench with Crosspolitic News. Two highly contentious races are taking place in these states Tuesday. Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is facing opposition from Donald Trump-endorsed Kelly Tshibaka. Murkowski was one of seven senators who voted to impeach the 45th President the second time. Meanwhile, experts are wondering if Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy0.) can secure her seat against Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman. She’s one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump and she’s also one of two Republicans on the January 6 panel. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) is the other who has come to her defense often.
