The full complement of the shuttle pod crew (Brian, Jared, Kayla, and Matt) made it this week to discuss “Perpetual Infinity.” The episode was well acted, with major kudos going to guest star Sonja Sohn as Dr. Gabrielle Burnham. We have questions about just how the Red Angel suit works, and why it’s tethered to a point 950 years in the future. The newly AI rebuilt Leland also raises a number of questions about the end goal for Control, and of course we discuss the (Borg) elephant in the room about the way that Control seems to be taking on a physical host.

Sonequa Martin-Green puts on an acting clinic in the latest Star Trek Discovery episode "Perpetual Infinity," all while Michael Burnham is working through some serious mom issues.  Alan Van Sprang's Leland kinda recovers from getting stabbed in the eyes last week, and gets to paying the stabbing thing forward to Ash Tyler.  Sonja Sohn gets a lot of screen time in this episode as Michael Burnham's mother, and hot damn is she stupendous. Competing for that maternal role is Michelle Yeoh as Mirror Georgiou.

"The Wire" is often seen as a show showing the gritty side of police work.
