Do you know what the best part of this movie finally releasing is? I NEVER have to see the awful trailer for this movie in front of other films again! A Minecraft Movie has dropped in theaters worldwide and I had the immense "pleasure" of seeing it earlier today. Was it good? Well, what do you think? I definitely had a Minecraft phase when I was younger, but that was over ten years ago and I have not cared much for the game since then. I've always known that making a movie out of it is a dumb idea because the game doesn't exactly lend itself to narrative features. There's a reason there's only been ONE of these games. So, how did the film turn out? Find out in this review!A Minecraft Movie:Directed by: Jared HessScreenplay by: Chris Bowman & Hubbel Palmer and Neil Widener & Gavin James and Chris GalletaStory by: Allison Schroeder and Chris Bowman & Hubbel PalmerProduced by: Jon Berg, Cale Boyter, Vu Bui, Roy Lee, Jason Momoa, Mary Parent, Torfi Frans ÓlafssonExecutieve Producers: Jay Ashenfelter, Pete Chiappetta, Todd Hallowell, Andrew Lary, Brian Andrew Mendoza, Jon Spaihts, Anthony Tittanegro, Kayleen WaltersMusic by: Mark MothersbaughCinematography by: Enrique ChedlakEditing by: James ThomasCasting by: Rachel TennerProduction Design by: Grant MajorCostume Design by: Lucy McLay, Amanda NealeCast: Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, Jennifer CoolidgeSynopsis: Four misfits find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Forest Blakk over Zoom video!Acclaimed singer/songwriter Forest Blakk has released his new EP Undone (Love & Loss), available now via Atlantic Records. The 7-track collection arrives alongside a music video companion for the title track, “Undone”.Previewed by the touching new track “You Were Mine,” the EP also includes “Love Somebody Again” – both of which recently joined much of Blakk's discography as featured music on Netflix's Love Is Blind. Blakk's catalog has become somewhat of a sonic-staple, with him having been named the “patron saint” of the show by creators with the Los Angeles Times pointing out “(Blakk's) earnest mid-tempo love songs turn up on ‘Love is Blind' nearly as often as hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey.”Blakk has spent his career soundtracking love stories of all kinds, most recently including his own with “Love Somebody Again” and “I Choose You” – the latter having arrived just days after his Nashville wedding to Tooley Jones in a beautiful ceremony covered exclusively by PEOPLE Magazine. Both songs followed 2022's intimate and relatable Every Little Detail EP, having featured his breakout Platinum-certified smash single “If You Love Her,” which alone has amassed over 470 million total global streams, earned Blakk his official US chart debut on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart, his national US TV debut on ABC's Live with Kelly & Ryan, top 30 placement on the Hot AC radio chart & saw the singer/songwriter collaborate with Meghan Trainor on a stunning duet version. Meanwhile, Blakk's follow-up single “Fall Into Me” (co-written alongside Matchbox Twenty front man Rob Thomas and Gregg Wattenberg) reached top 30 on the Hot AC radio chart and Gold-certification status in his native Canada, in addition to being featured in a perfectly fitting ad campaign for Kay Jewelers. Highlighted as one of PEOPLE Magazine's “talented emerging artists making their mark on the musical landscape” and deemed an “artist on the rise” by Billboard, Blakk made his debut with his 2018 EP Minutes and follow-up 2020 sophomore EP Sideways – the latter of which saw Blakk collaborate with the likes of Will IDAP (Train, Florida Georgia Line), Nick Long (King Princess), Carl Ryden (Ricky Martin, David Guetta), Ollie Green (Freya Ridings, Gavin James) & more to tell a love story through an incredibly realistic and candid lens. The 6-track collection featured singles “I Wish I Knew” (deemed an “introspective look at love and love lost” by American Songwriter) and uplifting anthem of resilience “Put Your Hands Up,” which debuted on an episode of ABC's Grey's Anatomy. A compelling live performer, Blakk has toured extensively supporting NEEDTOBREATHE, Gavin James, Dean Lewis & earlier this year embarked on a sold out 17-date North American headline tour.We want to hear from you!
Welcome back listener! It's colder and darker this month for sure but I'm happy to say that this interview brought me a lot of warmth, and hopefully it does so for you as well. This month is a very special episode for me. I was fortunate enough to be able to sit down with the wonderful Philip Magee for this episode; a phenomenally prolific music producer and mix engineer but also a mentor and friend. Phil's discography speaks for itself, having produced & engineered for world-renowned international acts such as Kodaline & The Script, Miles Kane, Sisqo & Delta Goodrem, and having his foot firmly rooted at the beating heart of Irish music working with The Academic in the early stages of their career, as well as Gavin James, Westlife, The Coronas, True Tides, The Blizzards, and many, many, many more. When I first came up with the concept for this podcast, Phil was the first name I thought about and the reason being that I feel I truly wouldn't be doing what I'm doing today without him, his influence and his guidance. As well as hearing all about Phil's work ethic, his recording improvisation with dictaphones and VHS tapes, you'll also hear about my start and how I ended up moving away from a life as a band member towards becoming the producer and mix engineer I am today. Thanks as always and if you do love what we do here, kindly share it with a friend or consider signing up to our Patreon here for bonus content.Back in November - stay warm, everyone!-Sonic Architect Adam Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. We are imperfect blobs of emotion and bone and spirit and life and when we come together there is nothing greater than the chemistry and the alchemy of musical theater… There's a joy, there's a bounce, there's an effervescence that's part of that music. I had a great teacher in college, the head of our program Brent Wagner said, 'With lyrics, I can tell you to open the door, but with music I can tell you how.' Lyrics are information and music is emotion.”Most highly noted for his stunning work in musical theater, Gavin James Creel is a Tony & Olivier Award-winning actor, singer and songwriter. Darren talks with Longwave's Steve Schiltz about his band Longwave, Van Halen, and of course, David Lee Roth! Steve talks about how Eddie's guitar playing was his entry to Van Halen, Dave, and Steve Vai and Jason Becker's catalogs, and how it informed and inspired how own work. Plus, the time Steve and James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins) were incredulous when a younger travel companion hadn't heard of, and subsequently did not get, the greatness of "Hot For Teacher." And Darren tells Steve about the Japanese import of the Spanish-language version of Eat 'Em And Smile, Sonrisa Salvaje (yes, you read that right). *** Steve Schiltz co-founded Longwave in 1999, and by 2002 the band was signed with RCA Records. Longwave's sophomore album, The Strangest Things, helmed by Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridmann, brought the band's music to the masses, and international tours with The Strokes, Bloc Party, OK Go and many more followed. Longwave went on an unofficial hiatus in 2009, after releasing Secrets Are Sinister. After years of collaboration, Schiltz wrote, recorded, mixed and produced Tonight Is The Ghost by himself — the first set of songs from the project that would become Hurricane Bells. The album quickly garnered kind words from critics and a following of fans. Steve's music has been featured on the soundtrack to The Twilight Saga: New Moon, alongside Death Cab For Cutie, The Killers and more. Hurricane Bells released an EP in 2010 and a second album, Tides And Tales, the following year. Another EP, There's Nothing Precious in the Past, was also completed. The band toured the States and played to crowds in Japan and India. Steve has toured with the likes of Albert Hammond Jr., The Pierces, Teddy Thompson and James Iha. His playing and writing can be heard on Blue October's 2018 hit album I Hope You're Happy (for which he co-wrote the title song), as well as UK hits by Birdy and Gavin James, and James Bay's international 2019 hit “Bad”. He's also his own boutique studio, composing music for documentary films and ads for multiple national brands and companies. In 2019, Longwave reunited and released “If We Ever Live Forever”, followed by “Live At Bowery Ballroom” in 2020. New records by Blue October, Harvard Of The South, and the Japan-only “There's Nothing Precious In The Past” are all slated for release in 2020.
