Send us a textAfter a LOOOOOONG hiatus, the Bums are back in the rail yard with S5:E0127; the first half starts with excuses involving said hiatus, as talk quickly turns to the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby and betting updates; followed by Chicago Bears football chatter, featuring their newest employees —and their never ending journey to fucking nowhere (stadium “update”); Shedeur Sanders draft capital slides down the board like a shuffleboard puck, before finally getting name-called by the hapless Cleveland Browns in Round 5; Quinn “Noodle Arm” Ewers gets similar treatment, sliding down to Round 7 en route to the dice rolling Miami Dolphins — now we wait; NBA playoff highlights are recounted with road teams reigning supreme early on, followed by a breeze by of NHL playoff action; the top wraps as Orange Hitler posthumously pardons Pete “Not a Good Human” Rose. The second half starts with another inter-universally famous beer review, with a rare (if ever) lager out of Munster, IN's 3 Floyd's Brewing, Deluxe Lager (ABV 4.5%), a lighter-style American adjunct lager created with locally sourced Hoosier corn grits, making this devil a gulpable, easy drinker; the greatest city in the world lands itself a new leader, as the man in the big white hat, Pope Leo the 14th, finds himself some white smoke (and predictably, the memes are on fucking point); Eddie discovers gold in Jameson's Triple Triple, a special edition Potato eater whiskey that is triple distilled, triple casked in three types of vessels (bourbon, sherry and Malga wine) — making this winner a smooth sipper with toffee, fudge, vanilla, chestnut and dark chocolate aromas; talk turns to Paddy's walkabout across the southeast USA (known by some as Pat Kerowac) who shares his travelogue trials and tribulations before planting in Florida's Santa Maria island; Rocky has his own Florida adventures including a visit to the Keys for Tarpon Camp with renowned fishing guide Chris “Uber” Raines; and wraps up with a medley of deceased well knowns that include: Big George Foreman (the Original), NY Dolls frontman David “Buster Poindexter” Johansen, Richard “Shogun” Chamberlain, Val “Method Actor” Kilmer, and former White Sox outfielder Chet “Jehovah's Witness” Lemon. Send us a textIn this special edition episode of our podcast we take a look back at a very special man, former Senator Alan Simpson of Wyoming. He passed away in March at age 93. He had been the Senate Republican Whip under Bob Dole for a decade and together they made the institution work. Alan Simpson had one of the best wits in the Senate, or even all of Congress. He could make you laugh outload uproariously at times. He also never pulled any punches, whether it was holding the President of the opposing party to the fire, or even some of the leadership of his own. Alan Simpson never shied away from a fight or a controversial issue, including calling the AARP on the carpet as a special interest group held together in the quest of discount airline tickets. Alan Simpson was one of a kind. Alan Simpson will be missed and in this episode we will take a few minutes to enjoy his personality one more time. We will also learn about his very special friendship forged behind the barbed wire fence of a Japanese internment camp during World War 2 with another Boy Scout who would go on to be a United States Congressman and Cabinet member, Norman Moneta. Plus, we will hear him remember his times in Washington with two other of his great friends, who are very important to our podcast, former President George H. W. Bush, who we are chronicling now, and Bob Dole who will be the next man we chronicle. This show is a lot of fun looking back at a man who could best be described as that, fun. Also, this show has a long dedication to three other great people admired by our host, his aunt Katherine Wallace, South Carolina former Representative Bubber Snow, and "Big" George Foreman, the former 2 time World Boxing Champion, and the man who stole America's heart with his miraculous comeback win at 45 in boxing, and his amazingly good cooking grille. Boxing is different. We all know that. We're allowed access into the lives of fighters in a way other sports don't provide with their athletes, and as a result we often feel as though we know them and are close to them. When we lose fighters, and especially fighters we cared for, it sure hurts. On this episode of the Knuckes and Gloves podcast, boxing historians Patrick Connor and Aris Pina team up to remember former heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist "Big" George Foreman, and give a brief tribute to Ras-I Alujah Bramble, better known as Livingstone Bramble. Does the slipper still fit? What happened to the Cinderella story? On this Monday episode of "Fearless," Jason asks the question — where is this year's feel-good story? March Madness has always been about the unexpected underdog, the Cinderella team that captures the nation's heart. But this year? The magic seems to be missing. Could the NIL era be to blame for the tournament's increasing predictability? It's not just the action on the court that feels off; March Madness commercials are drowning in virtue-signaling. Companies like Home Depot, Experian, and Gatorade are putting NCAA women's basketball stars front and center, while male athletes take a back seat. That's right — men are now being used as props to highlight female athletes. Steve Kim joins the show to break down the current landscape of college basketball. Meanwhile, UConn women's head coach Geno Auriemma has a full-blown meltdown, complaining about Arkansas State having to travel 45 minutes from the team's hotel to play. When will women's sports stop leaning into the victimhood narrative? Outside March Madness, ESPN's very own Stephen A. Smith gets exposed as “the Angry Black Man” by a network producer in a secret interview. Is this a hit job, or is the truth finally catching up to Stephen A.? Plus, did Steph Curry actually sink that viral full-court shot, or is there more to the story? And with Jameis Winston now leading the New York Giants, what can fans expect from the new signal-caller? Finally, Jason and Steve Kim pay tribute to one of the greatest athletes of all time — boxing legend Big George Foreman. A jam-packed episode of "Fearless" you won't want to miss! I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 4th of February, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Joel 3:10:”…Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.' ”Then we go straight to Philippians 4:13:”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” All things, but you see, these things are not for self-gain. No, no, they are for the benefit of others. Many years ago, I used to do powerlifting as a sport and I went to the Zambian National Championships. I was in the Light Heavyweight Division, and you won't believe it - I came second. Yes, I got the silver medal, but don't tell anybody else, there were only two of us in my division! But jokes aside, God says we can do all things through Him who strengthens us.I want to tell you about a man by the name of Paul Anderson. He has since gone to be with the Lord. He was undoubtedly the most powerful man in the world at that time. It is recorded that he lifted, listen to this, 2,850 kilos. Now, if you're familiar with pounds, that is 6,270 pounds. Incredible, a dead lift, but you know the important thing was is that he used all that strength and fame to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and take care of young people. You see, he used it for the glory of God.Big George Foreman is probably the biggest in size, heavyweight champion in the history of the world. He lost his title but he got it back. He's recorded as being the oldest heavyweight boxing champion in the world. I think he was over 40 years old, but the good news is that he used it all for the glory of God. He's got a gym going. He takes care of young street kids. He's got a church, and he's a preacher of the gospel. He's unashamed of the Lord.Today, use that strength that God has given you, maybe it's in business, maybe you're an artist. Use it for the glory of God.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day, and enjoy your day,Goodbye

In this podcast episode, we dive deep into the world of accomplished singer-songwriter Brent Lindsay, a master of sync placement in the entertainment industry. With his music featured in major TV series like Mayans, Seal Team, Shameless, Animal Kingdom, and blockbuster movies, including "Big George Foreman," Brent shares invaluable insights. The conversation touches on essential factors for success, such as strategically crafting music for soundtracks. Brent emphasizes the need to shed one's ego and approach compositions as strategic placements rather than complete songs. Writing for the visual aspect is crucial, and mediocrity is simply not tolerated in this business.Building relationships, particularly with the libraries curating playlists for movies, is a key aspect. Brent also delves into the differences between exclusive and non-exclusive publishing rights and stresses the significance of mutual respect for deadlines.Furthermore, we explore the importance of meticulous research on the shows being pitched to, as well as the use of appropriate language in lyrics. Dark themes may not be well-received by the industry.Brent Lindsay, not only an exceptional songwriter but also a client, discovered the significance of visual branding for an artist's longevity. This podcast is a treasure trove of knowledge for those navigating the sync placement world, filled with rich SEO keywords to enhance its reach and visibility on Google. linktr.ee/CatchingUpOnCinema This week, Trevor conducts a solo review of George Tillman Jr.'s, Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World (2023)! Starring Khris Davis as boxing legend, George Foreman, Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World (2023) is a biopic from Christian film production house, Affirm Films. A faith oriented sports drama, Big George Foreman is too sanitized to be juicy with its melodrama, however the production is largely competent throughout, and aside from a couple of lackluster impersonations, (the guy they got to play Jim Lampley fails to deliver “It happened!” with the appropriate gusto) the performances are quite solid. Benefiting massively from being based on a legitimately fascinating and incredible true story, Big George Foreman is a serviceable, albeit expectedly preachy sports drama that to be made eventually, but definitely could've been done better. “It's time for real men to return to their nature and prove their manhood. Tucker Carlson just did.” Carlson announced he will be relaunching his show via Twitter in the near future. In a three-minute video posted to Twitter, Carlson said he plans to broadcast his show on Twitter because it's the lone consequential platform that allows free speech. Prior to Elon Musk taking the reins of the social media giant, no one would have thought of Twitter as a beacon of free speech, but here we are. Jason believes that in hyper-feminized American culture, we need more men like Tucker to resume their God-given callings. In this episode Carl interviews Dr. James Spencer, professor, theologian, president of the D.L Moody Center and author of the new book “Christian Resistance: Learning to Defy the World and Follow Christ.” Dr. Spencer explains how Christians can get easily “distracted” by the world's trappings, urgencies and emergencies that could cause us to miss God's calling, but he also offers practical strategies on how Christians can refocus their lives on Christ and live their best life. www.JamesgSpencer.com WATCH AND SUBSCRIBE TO OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL https://www.youtube.com/@carljacksonshowandblog More: www.TheCarljacksonshow.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thecarljacksonshow Twitter: https://twitter.com/carljacksonshow Parler: https://parler.com/carljacksonshowSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

He's a household name, and whether that's because you own one of his Lean Mean Grills, are intrigued with the fact that his 5 sons all have the same first name, because you're a boxing fan, or simply because you love the guys effervescent personality... when you say George Foreman, everyone knows who you're talking about! George sat down with me to tell me about the moving experience of observing his story - as a bystander - as the movie about his life was being made. Did you know he found his faith and became an evangelical pastor some 40 years ago? That he gave up boxing after a near-death experience, only to return to the ring and reclaim the title of Heavy Weight Champion of the World? It's all in the movie, "Big George Foreman" in theaters on April 28. But you'll want to listen to our conversation first. It's ahhhhmazing! ~ DelilahSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
