It's been over two years since I started my podcast, Turning Readers Into Writers. When I think about when I first started out, and that very first trailer, that very first episode, and how nervous I was about recording everything, how new it all felt. I was so happy when I found the wonderful Krystal Proffitt, who guided me through everything in lovely easy to follow steps. So what have been some of my Podcast episode highlights? My first author interview was with Elisa Menz, a really brave thing to do as a new author. It was her first podcast. She was doing it in her second language and I was so grateful she put her trust in me.A big turning point for me was interviewing Bethany Tucker, who generously shared her techniques when she's editing her clients' work. Rhonda Douglas was another highlight. She'd written a great blog post on her 4 Folder Method, which I loved and find out more, and so she shared with me her 4 Folder Method.Physical Therapist, Dr. Alexa Harrigan, talked to me about being a pain-free writer. She touched on desk ergonomics, general health and well-being, and how to make activity a part of your daily life without going to the gym. An episode I learned a lot from was with author Sylvia Hubbard, who says you don't need to have everything worked out beforehand. Just having a general idea of where your story is going to go is enough to get started writing. You can iron out the wrinkles later. In terms of crafts, one of my favourite episodes was with September C Fawkes, and she talks about how to use a cliffhanger, and to date, it's still one of my most downloaded episodes. In June of last year, I talked to Nadia Coburn, and we talked about healing trauma through narrative. This has been a very popular episode as we've all experienced trauma at some stage in our life. At the end of last year, I chatted with Nikki Vallance, a debut author. She's also a life coach who uses her skills to help mid-lifers who feel stuck. As she says, she wants to inspire ‘closet novelists'. We talked about the benefits of coaching and both agree that even if the focus of the coaching is on the book, it can impact all areas of your life.I recently interviewed Imogen Clark, the multi-million selling author of contemporary women's fiction. Despite her enormous success, she is incredibly down to earth and pragmatic and epitomises for me the ‘career author'.After raising her family, Imogen took time for herself and explored what it was she wanted in this next stage of her life. She'd always loved writing and so invested in herself by taking a degree course. In March 2022 I interviewed Yuktha Asrani, who really epitomises, for me, the opportunities lockdown has afforded us if we've chosen to take them, and she certainly did!Yuktha is a wonderful example of how, if you have a passion and you decide to follow it through, you can do anything. For those of you who have been with me since the beginning, I want to say a big, big thank you. Thank you for being part of this journey. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/emmadhesi)

For example, one has multiple personality disorder, another has food issues. But everyone wants and deserves love.Hubbard delves into why these men are the way they are, they all have complex backstories."Love is really complicated...it's easy to get to the door, but opening the door and walking through is harder..."Not only does Sylvia Hubbard write fiction, she writes non-fiction and blogs. She explains how she manages to write so prolifically and says she's "a pantster with a drip of plotter."She's always on the lookout for interesting people and flaws and likens her process to the movie Glass. Then she makes sure she goes through the 3Rs."When you make plans, God laughs. Sometimes the life you plan is not the life you need."We discuss how you don't have to have everything worked out before you start writing, you can iron out the wrinkles later."You can't give yourself an excuse to fail."We discuss how she manages her time and keeps her sense of fun! She says she wakes up with the attitude that she cannot fail. Sylvia emphasises how important it is to tell your loved ones that writing means a lot to you. If they want you to be happy, they need to let you write.Everything can be done in 10 minutes. Passion is very important to keep us motivated in life. It is a source of happiness and helps us to be successful in our purpose. To find out your passion and make time for it, is supercritical. And if you want to know why passion is important and how you can make time for it, then you’re at the right place! Today, you’re going to learn from some inspirational conversation that took place on Between The Lines Radio Host, Corine La Font and Guest, Sylvia Hubbard. Sylvia Hubbard is a single mother of 3 and an Author of over 45 novels. She is also a Best-Selling Author and a Motivational Speaker and has received numerous awards and recognitions for her work. While sharing her life experiences, she stated that passion should be as important as breathing. She further added that once you’re able to find your passion, you’ll start receiving the blessings and getting the results. But to get the results, you have to put in efforts. In life, you’ll face different situations, but you should stick with your passion. Women especially after marriage and having children tend to give up on their passion; but this should never be the case! They should remain determined and motivated towards their passion, irrespective of what the circumstances are. For all the parents out there, she suggested that the parents should teach their children to live without them. When they’re grown up, this will help them a lot. If you’re an entrepreneurial mother, you should involve your children in your business so that they’ll know what it takes to make money and how to get build connections and relationships in practical life. What You Will Learn: · Everyone must have some passion in their life. · You should put enough effort to be successful in your purpose. · Whatever the situation, you have to keep moving in life. · After marriages, women should not give up on their passion. · Get your children involved in your businesses so that they have a better understanding of practical life. · Plan, Pray, and Parent. You should adopt these three rules in life to be successful. Final Thoughts: Sylvia Hubbard is an example for everyone. In her life, she has faced different situations that could have demotivated her; but she remained focused in life towards her priorities and passion and today she is a successful woman. Introduction: There Is Great Value In Understanding Your Reader Your needs and wants, as an author, can be surprisingly and distinctly different than those of your reader. What we non-fiction authors need and want within our own life, and what our readers need and want within their own life, can sometimes be a far cry from each other. But, once you realize this difference, you can then focus your attention on understanding who your reading audience really is, and what their needs and wants are about, and what it is that's motivating your readers. So, here is a short discussion to help you start to define and understand what your reading audience needs and wants in their own life, which is what has led them to you and your non-fiction book: Share This Image On Your SitePlease include attribution to https://kunzonpublishing.com/ with this graphic. A. NEEDS (Functional Needs) Of Your Readers Your readers (book buyers) have a functional need that they are trying to satisfy when they are looking for a book that can help them improve a quality-of-life issue. This need might include such things as finding out how to start a business, for example. Or, how to solve a business problem, such as how to find more clients. The list of specific quality-of-life issues that we all need help and guidance with is endless. You, the author, have expertise in a few of these issues. It's your job to help your readers with one particular quality-of-life issue that they are seeking help with. Thank you very much to Sylvia Hubbard of the Motown Writer's Network, for sharing my post. By talking to your own customers and clients, your prospects, your students, your patients, your co-workers, your employees, your friends and family, and doing an in-depth search on Amazon, you will begin to hear and see what the most common quality-of-life issues people are searching answers for. Some issues will be simple and easy to discuss, and others will be much more complicated and difficult to deal with. But, your job as an author is to provide practical and easy-to-understand and implement solutions for the reader. WANTS (Emotional Needs) Of Your Readers Your readers (book buyers) also have an emotional need, or desire, that they are trying to satisfy. This want might include such things as the feelings of joy that develop after successfully completing a project, or starting a new business, or helping a new client succeed, or helping a student pass an exam, for example. Thank you very much to Chris Graham for sharing my post on his blog The Story Reading Ape. The list of emotional needs that people desire is also endless. You, the author, by helping your readers achieve, or satisfy, or find the answers to, the functional need that led them to buy your book in the first place, will also be helping them achieve the wants,
