In this heartfelt episode, hosts Kim and Ben sit down with celebrated CCM artist Jordan Feliz. Known for hits like "The River," "Beloved," and "Jesus Is Coming Back," Jordan opens up about his Enneagram journey, how it influences his life and music, and the ways it has shaped his relationships—with his wife Jamie, their children, and those he meets on the road.Jordan candidly discusses the challenges and strengths of being an Enneagram Type 9 with a 1 wing, the importance of empathy, and how learning about personality types has improved his marriage and parenting. He also shares the inspiration behind his children's book “Beloved,” and the story of how gratitude helped him overcome a painful season of anxiety, inspiring his latest single, "Somebody Praise God for That."Together, Kim, Ben, and Jordan delve into the beauty and burden of being a peacemaker, navigating different personalities within family and friendships, and the spiritual growth that comes through gratitude and self-awareness.KEY TAKEAWAYSEnneagram Journey: Jordan is an Enneagram Type 9 with a 1 wing. He highlights how understanding his type, and those of others, has brought empathy and patience into his life, marriage, and parenting.Energy, Personality, and Performance: Despite common perceptions about Type 9s and energy, Jordan discusses how being an “extroverted nine” impacts his performance and interactions, noting that meet-and-greets can be more draining than concerts because of their emotional intensity.Marriage and Communication: Learning about Enneagram types has strengthened his marriage. Understanding his wife Jamie's (Type 6, wing 7) needs and communication styles helps them find common ground, especially during challenging conversations.Parenting: Jordan and his wife observe emerging personality traits in their children, tailoring their parenting approach to support their uniqueness and foster secure identities."Beloved" and Affirming Identity: The book and song “Beloved” were born from a desire to instill unconditional worth in children, combating cultural pressures with the truth of God's love.Anxiety & Gratitude: Jordan's story of overcoming a season of anxiety by intentionally practicing gratitude demonstrates the transformative power of thankfulness and praising God in all circumstances.Spirituality in Practice: He emphasizes that living out faith is about day-to-day relationship and practicing gratitude, not just “checking off” religious duties.Future Orientation: Jordan shares that he and his family are learning to live with open hands concerning the future, choosing faith and flexibility as they wait on God's guidance.RESOURCESJordan Feliz Official Website: www.jordanfeliz.comBeloved (Children's Book): Learn more about the inspirational children's book referenced in the episode. store.centricitymusic.com/products/beloved-bookMUSIC BY JORDAN FELIZ“The River”“Beloved”“Jesus Is Coming Back”“Somebody Praise God for That”WAYS TO CONNECTNewsletter: Subscribe for further information about enneagram types and regular updates from the podcast. Has someone ever wronged you, and you can't seem to get past it? Maybe you struggle with even wanting to forgive the person. On this podcast episode of If You Really Knew Me, Ben & Kim talk about the seven steps of forgiveness and how it's affected by our enneagram type and the process you walk through.Feel free to reference this below in case you need more to chat about:Forgiveness is something we ALL have to tackle. If you are struggling today, I encourage you to seek the Lord. Only He can give you the strength you need to be able to forgive others AND yourself.WHAT FORGIVENESS IS (AND IS NOT)Forgiveness is giving up your right to hurt someone who has hurt you.Forgiveness does not diminish the wrong done against you.Forgiveness is not a denial of what happened.Forgiveness does not take away the consequences the other person will face because of his or her actions.Forgiveness is an act and a process. Even when a person decides to forgive another person, feelings of relief or healing are usually not immediate. Forgiving someone can be difficult and uncomfortable.Forgiveness is not weakness. It is the most powerful thing you can do. It breaks the hold that has been put on your life. Refusing to forgive allows the person or thing that was hurtful to you to continue to hurt you.Forgiveness does not mean forgetting. Forgiveness does not require you to become a “doormat.”Forgiveness does not require you to open yourself up to the offender to be hurt again.Forgiveness does not wait for the offender to apologize or earn forgiveness in some way.WAYS TO CONNECTNewsletter: Subscribe for further information about enneagram types and regular updates from the podcast. Breaking free from the endless cycle of craving—whether through shopping, food, or relationships—Natalie Snooke explores how self-awareness, meditation, and the Enneagram can lead to true inner peace beyond external validation. Natalie Snooke is an experienced life and leadership coach, mindfulness facilitator, humanitarian, yoga and meditation teacher. She is the founder and director of Momentum Coaching & Yoga. A specialist of the ‘inner life' Natalie has maintained a committed yoga and meditation practice for over 18 years. She has participated in more 10-day Vipassana silent meditation retreats than she can count! Natalie is a Certified Transformational Presence Coach, Certified Enneagram Coach, and member of the International Coach Federation. Natalie is a Certified Partner at Triple Goal, a global leadership growth company that empowers leaders and teams to master self-awareness, growth mindset and psychological safety. A respected senior yoga teacher, Natalie has served on the Executive Committee of Yoga Australia, the peak professional body of yoga in Australia. She regularly leads international retreats and pilgrimages to India and Bali. Natalie is equally comfortable sitting around the boardroom table with executives, sitting cross-legged on the floor in meditation caves, or at the feet of yoga masters in India. In this episode, we discuss: Craving and Emptiness of the Heart Natalie explores addiction through the lens of emotional longing rather than substances. Early experiences of feeling unseen led to seeking external validation through shopping, overeating, and relationships. Society often overlooks these addictive tendencies in daily life. The Journey to Self-Understanding There was no single epiphany, but rather a series of insights. Transformational moments came from recognising she is more than her wounds. Relationship breakdowns served as significant turning points. Healing Through Yoga and Meditation Self-awareness is key—beyond the body and mind, to the essence of being. True fulfilment comes from stillness, not external achievements. Yoga and meditation are paths to self-realisation, not just stress relief. Once deeply experienced, people naturally want to return to these practices. Breaking Free from Craving Whether it's materialism, relationships, or substance use, the craving never stops. Addiction is often a symptom of forgetting our true nature. Awareness reduces the grip of addiction over time, shifting from an overwhelming force to a subtle presence. The Enneagram as a Tool for Awareness A system for understanding human motivation and patterns. Helps recognize unhelpful tendencies and move toward freedom. Not about being a "better" version of yourself but about true self-acceptance. Self-Compassion & Kindness Many people believe self-discipline requires self-criticism, but this is learned behaviour. Being kind to yourself creates space for growth without judgment. Compassion is contagious—when we practice it, others around us follow. Slowing Down in a Busy World Society pressures us to stay busy, but stillness is essential. Simple steps like removing “I'm busy” from vocabulary can shift mindset. Awareness practices naturally lead to a slower, more intentional life. Self-Regulation & Breathwork Change happens in moments of choice—fall back into old habits or take a new path. Breath is the key to self-regulation, reducing stress, and increasing clarity. Even simple breathwork practices can be enough to create lasting change. Send us a Text Message.Meet Gwen Sledge, a retired nurse and Certified Enneagram Coach. Gwen has a deep understanding of the Enneagram and is passionate about using her healthcare experience to help nurses understand how their personality, communication style, and behavior affect their relationships. Not sure what the Enneagram is? I wasn't either but I learned it's a personality typing tool that categorizes individuals into nine distinct personality types, each with its own core fears, desires, and patterns of thinking and behaving. In all honesty, I was initially skeptical but after taking the assessment, I was amazed by the accuracy of this tool. I discovered I am a type two and Gwen is a type six and you'll hear how our readings are reflected in our practice. You might be wondering, "Why is this even important?" As nurses, we collaborate closely with a variety of disciplines in stressful environments, and Gwen pointed out that by understanding your Enneagram type, you can gain insight into behavior which can, in turn, lead to deeper connections and more authentic relationships. And that sounds like a win-win situation to me.In the five-minute snippet: well, what would you do if you grew a tail overnight?
