Troverà proprio a casa di Illyrio dei funghetti che si porterà appresso fino alla fine.Da buon oste, Illyrio offre a Tyrion vitto e alloggio e anche un obiettivo: un certo drago a tre teste.Per raggiungere Daenerys, quindi, i due uomini si avviano per le strade valyriane attraverso Andalos verso il fiume Rhoyne, dove incontreranno un mediatore, Griff, e suo figlio, il giovane Griff, che accompagneranno Tyrion alla corte di Daenerys verso la Baia degli Schiavisti, o se gli dei vogliono anche a metà strada, cioè a Volantis, la più grande tra le figlie dell'impero valyriano. Veniamo anche a scoprire la storia di Hugor Hill, colui che ha portato gli Annali e il Credo dei Sette a Westeros e ci viene rivelato che, con grande sorpresa di Tyrion, la Compagnia Dorata ha reciso un sacro contratto per andare in aiuto alla regina Targaryen. Un'enorme serie di stranezze e una confessione di amor perduto di Illyrio portano alla mente di Tyrion ancora una volta Tysha, suo fratello e suo padre, sia sotto forma di ricordi che sotto forma di sogni… d'altronde è solo immaginando che Tyrion può essere amato. Dimenticato da tutti e rassegnato al proprio destino, è sorpreso quando la porta della sua cella si apre e suo fratello gli dice che lo sta portando in salvo. I due fratelli Lannister chiudono il loro rapporto con una nota amara, ma per Tyrion non è finita.Una volta raggiunto Varys e insieme trovatisi proprio sotto la Torre del Primo Cavaliere, Tyrion decide di salire le centinaia di scale che lo separano dal padre su in cima.Così, per i cunicoli usati dai little birds di Varys, Tyrion sbuca nella camera da letto di suo padre, dove trova Shae sul letto nuda e Tywin in bagno.Con le mani d'oro della catenina da Primo Cavaliere strangola Shae in un bagno di lacrime e con una balestra carica, scarica su suo padre decenni di frustrazioni, odio e conflitti. Tyrion is rescued from his cell by Jaime, but learns the awful truth of Jaime's previous betrayal. Tyrion, in turn, tells Jaime he killed Joffrey. The two part ways acrimoniously. On his way to freedom, Tyrion stops to visit his father. He finds a familiar face waiting in Tywin's bed and Tywin in the privy. Tyrion deals with them both in similar fashion. Simon and Mackelly wallow in the sadness and betrayal.Chapter Review:Tyrion Lannister prepares to attack, as the door to his cell opens. It turns out to be his brother Jaime. Jaime is here to rescue him. When Tyrion thanks him, Jaime says he's repaying a debt. Tyrion insists on knowing the secret of this debt. Jaime tells him he lied to Tyrion about Tysha, on their father's command. Tyrion's wife truly was a crofter's daughter, met on the road. The news sends Tyrion into a fury. He tells Jaime that Cersei has been unfaithful to Jaime and that, yes, he killed Joffrey. With that the two part ways.Tyrion meets Varys, to escape through the dungeons and to the sea, bound for Essos. Along the way, Tyrion realizes he's below the Tower of the Hand. He insists Varys tell him how to find his father's bed chamber. When Tyrion arrives, he finds Shae in Tywin's bed. She says she was forced to say horrible things about him at trial. She calls him her Giant of Lannister. At that, Tyrion strangles her with the Hand of the King chain she wears.He finds a crossbow and tracks his father to the privy. Tywin says he doesn't know what happens to the “whore” Tysha after Tyrion's “sharp lesson.” Tyrion says if he uses the term again, he will kill his father. Sognava campi pieni di morti, sorelle del silenzio e grigi mantelli. Ricordava nel sogno Ser Mandon e malediceva se stesso per il terrificante spettacolo che gli si parava di fronte ogni volta. Sognava anche Tysha... Questi erano sogni bellissimi. In un cottage in riva al mare, lui e lei a fare l'amore, giovani e innamorati. Ma era passato tanto tempo e lei era la puttana di Jaime. Tra un incubo e l'altro, Tyrion pensa di vedere sua sorella e suo padre al capezzale, poi Varys e Ditocorto. Riesce a riacquistare coscienza solo dopo tempo. Comanda Maestro Ballabar di mostrargli le sue ferite e chiama Pod a sé per rimettere insieme i pezzi. Lui è un leone della Rocca, un Lannister di Casterly Rock, nessuno deve vederlo debole. Tyrion recovers from the wounds he sustained in the Battle of the Blackwater. He's horribly disfigured and having wild fever dreams. Mackelly and Simon sniff the boiled wine.Chapter Review:Tyrion dreams of death and carrion. He is in a dungeon with other dying men. In his dream, he is mouthless and the city gates are barred to him. He lies in his own filth and seems to have no help or hope.He wakes briefly in the Tower of the Hand in his own bed. What is dream and reality become blurred. He is visited by Cersei, Tywin, Littlefinger, and Varys. He dreams of feasts in his honor, where songs are sung of his bravery and he is knighted by his brother Jamie. He wakes again, but a maester forces him to drink milk of the poppy, and sleep claims him once more. Now he dreams of his happy honeymoon with Tysha, how loving and sweet those times seem to him. The next time he wakes he refuses more drugs. Tyrion demands to see his wounds. Maester Ballabar advises otherwise, but Tyrion insists. His bandages are removed to reveal a terrible scar across his face, involving the loss of most of his nose. He also learns that he's in Maegor's Holdfast so that Cersei can personally oversee his care. He's lost his position as his father has taken the role of Hand of the King, having saved the city. Pod updates him that Bronn is now Ser Bronn, and he confirms that Ser Mandon Moore is dead.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Tyrion Lannister - Youngest son of Tywin Lannister. Tyrion gets wind of Cersei's latest plots. He tries to convince Shae to take a job in the Red Keep. He discusses the news from Storm's End with Varys who shares his hatred of all things magic. Mackelly and Simon try to weave the threads. Chapter Review: Tyrion Lannister learns from Lancel that Cersei plans to hide Tommen at Rosby. Tyrion doesn't mind this plan, but wants Tommen's guards to be loyal to him. He sends Jacelyn Bywater to do the job, with a promise of a lordship in return. To this point Bywater has been completely non-partisan - and the lordship is the payment for taking sides. Tyrion heads to Shae - risking going straight there. He wants her to move to the Red Keep - the city is too dangerous. But the only way he can see to do that is to get her a job as a servant. She's not pleased. They fight and he slaps her. Out of remorse, he spills the story of Tysha but then regrets being so vulnerable. They leave on bad terms. With Varys they discuss the fall of Storm's End. Varys thinks magic was used to kill Ser Courtnay Penrose, but Tyrion thinks there are more mundane explanations. Varys relates his becoming a eunuch at the hands of a sorcerer and his revulsion of magic thereafter. Tyrion is moved by Varys' tale. Tyrion receives a command from Cersei that Pycelle is to be released. Tyrion agrees but while he's at it he turns the messenger (cousin Lancel) to team-Tyrion. Later he visits Shae and admits to himself that he loves his life and Shae. Simon and Mackelly get a little sappy over the romance.  Chapter Review:  Lancel Lannister visits Tyrion Lannister after midnight. Tyrion's not asleep but pretends to have been. Lancel is your typical high-born, good-looking, recently knighted 16-year-old. He treats Tyrion with disdain, referring to him as imp. Cersei wants Grand Maester Pycelle released and Commander of the Gold Cloaks Jacelyn Bywater arrested (presumably for not releasing Pycelle on her command). Tyrion is pleased about that.  Tyrion turns the tables on Lancel when he accuses him of killing the king to bed the queen, and won't Joffrey be interested to learn this news. Lancel crumbles in an instant. Tyrion reels him - he could keep this from the new king if Lancel were to report all of Cersei's comings and goings to Tyrion. Lancel agrees. Tyrion fears for the lad. Cersei would certainly kill him if this betrayal were to reach her ears, and should he live long enough to see his cousin Jamie again, well, he'd kill him too.  Tyrion visits Shae. He realizes that the pain of Tysha's betrayal is finally behind him. During episode 21 of This Thing Called Life podcast, host Andi Johnson talks to Robert Wilder. Robert shares his story and who he is fighting for in this season of his life. Andi reminds the listeners that our nation is in the midst of an organ shortage, and in order to minimize that, more people are needed to register for organ donation.  Episode Highlights:  Andi asks Robert to share about his beautiful, spunky, fun-loving wife and also about his family story. Robert's wife developed kidney disease which pushed her to a point where she was not able to work anymore.  A couple of months ago, she had a heart attack due to a lack of oxygen in her organs and instigated the need for a kidney transplant.  Privacy sometimes has to do with embarrassments; some people don’t want to tell others what’s happening inside their homes.  Going through mental health struggles, people don’t want to talk about that because of the stigma of appearing weak. Lupus is what destroyed her kidneys, which is typical for patients with the condition. Robert says his daughter is the biggest blessing for him and his wife; she lives her best life and is a rock for their family. She trusts the process. His wife is now becoming healthy and bouncing back, and he is excited that she is going to be home in a few days. Andi asks Robert, “When you were growing up, what was your view about donation?” Their daughter is 11years old now, and he has to be strong  for her because she depends on him and his wife. There are so many responsibilities that keep Robert going in hard times. Robert shares about his faith and says you must believe and try to give it up to God.  They are excited for Tysha and the progress she has made with better communication. Andi says his wife is a fighter, a beautiful partner, and a beautiful mother to their daughter, and she is blessed to have him as her champion.   3 Key Points: Robert talks about his personal journey to get his wife a kidney. It's the penultimate podcast on the penultimate episode of season 1.
