Art by:- The Twins by Logan Feliciano - Walder Frey by Amok Link utili:1) https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/1gtbbs/spoilers_all_the_future_of_house_frey/2) https://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php?/topic/140537-frey-civil-war/3) https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/eza67x/spoilers_extended_frey_civil_war/4) https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/16mqp1/spoilers_all_complete_guide_to_westerosi/5) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVW9duzchdc&list=PLCsx_OFEYH6uxV3fW2GqUxivrq6VQsZMc&index=36) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdngFZrG4pQ7) https://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/1fax6qi/spoilers_extended_theory_the_fall_of_the_house_of/8) https://warsandpoliticsoficeandfire.wordpress.com/2016/02/19/heirs-in-the-shadows-the-ward-at-rosby/Supportate il canale in cambio di contenuti esclusivi: https://www.patreon.com/LaCittadellaQui trovate tutti i link del canale e dei suoi host: https://linktr.ee/LaCittadella

Arya and the Hound become aware of what might be going down inside the Twins. He gives her the brutal truth. They are attacked by three Frey knights. They survive because of his skills. But she still wants to see for herself. He stops her in less-than-gentle fashion. Mackelly and Simon give up trying to fix this poor broken child.Chapter Review:Arya Stark and Sandor Clegane (AKA the Hound) discover that the eastern castle of the Twins isn't closed after all, as the guard said it was. Arya fights a smile of excitement and anticipation for the reunion with her mother and brother. However, those feelings are quickly squashed when the Hound knocks her to the ground in an attempt to hide her. Frey knights pour from the castle and chaos begins to reign in the camps. The feast tents have become flaming infernos.Three Frey knights ride toward Arya and the Hound. The Hound takes on two, and the other tries to corral Arya. She's confused, the Freys are her brother Robb's friends, why are they attacking people? Before she can consider the question much longer, the Hound puts an ax through the skull of the knight chasing her, having already dispatched the other two knights. The Hound bluntly tells Arya her family is dead and they must flee. Arya isn't convinced. She wants to enter the castle and at least look for her mother. The camps are now a butcher's field, and the Hound gives her an ultimatum. She flees now with him or stays and dies. Arya slips past him and runs for the rising drawbridge. The Hound charges after her on the back of Stranger. His ax takes her in the back of her head.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Arya Stark - Younger daughter of Ned and Catelyn Stark. King Robb Stark - Murdered King in the North, elder brother to Arya.Catelyn Stark - Murdered mother of Arya.Sandor “The Hound” Clegane - Former personal bodyguard to King Joffrey Baratheon, younger brother of the Mountain (Gregor Clegane), deserter from the Lannister forces.Trident - Primary river system that flows through the Riverlands, consisting of three main tributaries: the Green Fork, Blue Fork, and Red Fork. The Twins - Seat of House Frey. Cat watches in horror as the Freys spring their trap. King Robb and many loyal northerners are cut down, and after she murders Lord Walder's grandson, Cat is also dispatched. The drinking is heavy, particularly from the GreatJon Umber. Lord Walder Frey calls for the bedding, the borderline sexual assault whereby the newlyweds are stripped and carried to the marital bed, and King Robb agrees. When the lovers leave, Catelyn Stark's hackles raise when Edwyn Frey pushes Darcey Mormont aside, when she only asked to dance. At this point, the band finally finds a tune: The Rains of Castermere - the song whose only message is “Don't cross the Lannisters.” Crossbow bolts rain down and King Robb and Cat are both struck. A melee ensues, but the Stark guards are outmanned and unable to do more than fight a rearguard.Northmen rush in, but they fight for the wrong side. Cat holds a knife to Jinglebell and threatens/bargains with Lord Walder - but he doesn't care what she does and a figure who appears to be Roose Bolton delivers the coup de grace to his King. Arya and the Hound arrive at the twins disguised as farmers bringing salt pork to the wedding. Arya keeps looking for a friendly face to reveal herself to, but it's all strange sigils and strangers. It shouldn't a be problem though - Clegane is determined to hand her over to her family personally. Mackelly and Simon join the revelry.Chapter Review:Arya Stark and Sandor Clegane arrive at the Twins in a farmer's wagon, towing the Hound's fearsome warhorse Stranger behind. They're first challenged by a contingent of knights who ask their business. Arya is dutifully silent while Sandor describes their cargo (salt pork and pigs feet), but leaving out the part where they stole the meat and the cart from an unlucky farmer. Stranger is explained as a wedding gift from Lady Whent. They're waved through and the Hound laughs that Ser Donnel Haigh ought to have recognized him (although Clegane kept his face hooded) as Haigh had repeatedly lost to the Hound in tourneys. In the encampment of soldiers on the east bank, Arya looks for familiar sigils and friendly faces, but doesn't see anyone she knows or trusts. She hears a toast to a Queen Jeyne, a name she's never heard before. She suggests turning themselves in to the nearest northmen, but Clegane ditches the disguise and leads her towards the castle.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Arya Stark - Younger daughter of Ned and Catelyn Stark. Sandor “The Hound” Clegane - Former personal bodyguard to King Joffrey Baratheon, younger brother of the Mountain (Gregor Clegane), deserter from the Lannister forces.Trident - Primary river system that flows through the Riverlands, consisting of three main tributaries: the Green Fork, Blue Fork, and Red Fork. The Twins - Seat of House Frey. The Crossing Guard TapesThe story of an ancient war waged by our silent protectors... school crossing guards.Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify Support the showSupport the podcast: Buy merch from our store. Cat and co arrive at the Twins to a frosty reception. Edmure is delighted by Roslin - she takes after her Rosby mother. Roose Bolton confirms some of the news from the north, shares more bad news, and tells a few lies. Simon and Mackelly get measured for our wedding bonnets.Chapter Review:Catelyn, Robb, and Edmure arrive at the Twins. A welcoming party of Freys is all-but attacked by Grey Wind - who's not really doing his part to smooth things over. He's banished to the dog house with Ser Raynald Westerling.Inside Walder Frey lords it over Robb demanding that the young king apologize to a whole bevvy of Frey girls, any one of which might have been his queen. Robb is contrite and says the right things. Walder is disappointed that Queen Jeyne didn't make the trip, he'd wanted to see what would make a king forget his vow, but he concedes that he remembers being young and in love. They break bread together and Catelyn relaxes - now they have guest right, and no harm will befall them.Edmure is pleased with his betrothed Roslin, who cries “with joy” when she meets her future husband. Roose Bolton is there and lies about who was to blame for the debacle at Duskendale, and reports that his march north was interrupted by Gregor Clegane who waited until his forces were split by the Trident before attacking the rearguard. Bolton was forced to leave men behind to prevent the Mountain from crossing the river. Roose is also dishonest (or misinformed) about his bastard Ramsey's part in the destruction of Winterfell. All agree to ransom Theon's execution, not his life, to the next Lord of the Iron Islands. CharaBookTV Thriller AudiobooksFree thriller audiobooks presented by BookTV!Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify History Nerds UnitedLet's make history fun again! Lord Edmure Tully is unwillingly betrothed to Roslin Frey, while Lord Walder wants the king to come and apologize for ditching his daughter. Simon and Mackelly worry the Starks hopes continue to fray (pun intended).Chapter Review:Catelyn Stark watches as her father is laid to rest. Lord Edmure cannot hit the funeral boat with a flaming arrow. His blushes are spared, and exacerbated, by his uncle Brynden - who nails it with one shot. The Freys have come to pay their respects and to answer Robb's proposals.Robb and Cat learn of Sansa's marriage to Tyrion, the defeat at Duskendale, and later the sacking of Winterfell. This episode we are wrapping up the first season. In episode 9 titled "Baelor" we start with Ned wasting away in the darkness of his cell when he is visited by Varys and urged to swear fealty to Cersei and douche Joffrey. Ned's many dumb mistakes finally catch up to him this episode. Rob, who is mad AF over his father being jailed mounts an army to ride out on the Lannisters and need Walder Frey's assistance to do that. After laying out a perfect plan, he fails to get his father or sisters back but he does take Jamie Lannister as hostage in return. Over in the Dothroki camp, we see Drogo getting worse and worse. Dany calls on Mirri Maz Duur and her black magic to help him. We will see how that turns out in episode 10. Finally, we find ourselves in King's Landing with Ned confessing his crimes in exchange for the wall and his daughter's safety but....In episode 10 Joffrey gives us more glimpses of how evil he is by making Sansa look at the severed head of her father. He also removes the tongue of a singer who made fun of King Bobby B and Cersei. We get to see Arya escape King's Landing, Tyrion made hand of the King, Jaime confess to pushing Bran, the end of Khal Drogo, Mirri Maz Duur die screaming, and most importantly we see the birth of Dany's three Dragons....#watchdemthrones #gameofthrones #demdragons #blackwithnochaser #podcast #podsincolor #humor #jokes #spotify #applemusic #youtube

Cat and crew arrive back at Riverrun to good news. Brienne has sworn to protect her. Robb's winning the war. Hoster is hanging on. Jamie is still captive and Ned's remains have been returned. Not withstanding some odd decisions by her brother Edmure, things are looking rosy. Mackelly and Simon get worried. Edmure meanwhile will attack Tywin's army as it passes close to Riverrun. Cat visits her dying father, he mistakes her for her sister Lysa  and recalls forcing her to marry Jon Arryn not that “wretched boy." Cat is curious who he means. Ned's bones have been returned. It's time people, for the first major event of this series that changed television forever. People, tonight, Professor Pat & I bid goodbye to poor old dead Ned Stark! We break down everything that happened in this monumental penultimate episode of Season 1! From Robb making a deal with the devil with the newly introduced Walder Frey, to Jon having a frank but necessary conversation with Maester Aemon that foreshadows his upcoming decision; to Daenerys being shown what happens when she trusts strangers; to Tyrion experiencing his first battle (and being knocked out) only to discover that Robb pulled a fast one on them and has captured Jaime. It all results in the shocker to end all shockers, with the death of Ned Stark. Poor Ned Stark, who had been waylayed and warned about what he was getting himself into from the moment he stepped foot in King's Landing, couldn't read the writing on the walls. The ironic thing is that when Ned dies, he's finally coerced into breaking his precious honor for the supposed safety of his daughter but also for the realm, but loses his head anyways when another player enters the game who has no conception of how it's played. Joffrey's decision to execute Ned announces him as a player in the game and sets the realm on a collision course as the sides are drawn and people begin preparing for war. Lord Walder will exact a toll. The Frey's send out a welcoming party, inviting Robb Stark to come and discuss. The various lords argue and disagree, but Catelyn Stark cuts through the nonsense by agreeing to go instead. She's banking on the Frey's fealty to House Tully to keep her safe. Inside she's not warmly welcomed, and Walder (surrounded by his prodigious progeny) fairly observes that he also has an oath to King Joffrey, so whichever way he chooses he's an oath-breaker. He bears a grudge for every slight, intended and imagined, ever thrown at the Freys. Cat tries to lend a sympathetic ear. Lord Frey clears the hall and they haggle. Cat returns to the host. "Tell your man to step aside or there will be violence." says Lancel Lannister. Cersei Lannister replies "I choose violence." Season 6 and “A Dance With Dragons” conclude in spectacular fashion as we evaluate episodes 8, 9 & 10. Brienne and Jaime Lannister lay eyes on each other for the first time since Jaime gave her his sword to find and protect Sansa Stark, King Tommen outlaws Trial By Combat and Brynden the Blackfish refuses to give up Riverrun. Over in Essos, the Masters of Astapor and Yunkai take advantage of Daenerys' absence and launch an all out assault on Meereen. At Riverrun a common foot soldier has to make a choice to either take commands from the man who reformed their army and took back Riverrun from the Frey's, or to take commands from the rightful Lord of Riverrun with a proverbial knife to his throat. Will he make the right choice? The Hound gets his revenge on the strangers who butchered the villagers he had been staying with and meets up with some familiar faces. In Bravos, the Waif corners Arya to kill her once and for all, but only one is accustomed to fighting in the pitch black. Jaquen H'ghar follows the blood trail to the Hall of Faces and makes a shocking discovery as to who's face has been added to the Hall. He turns to Arya and says "Finally a girl is no one." Arya replies "A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell and I'm going home." Back in Meereen, Daenerys returns to her city being under attack and has vengeance on her mind. "I will crucify the masters, I will set their fleets afire, kill every last one of their soldiers and return their cities to the dirt." she declares while getting the debrief from Tyrion. Tyrion talks her down and to do it his way. They meet with the Masters and there is a misunderstanding as to whom is surrendering. Daenerys tells the Masters "We obviously didn't communicate clearly, we're here to discuss your surrender not mine." before taking flight with Drogon and destroying the Masters fleet and armies. At Winterfell, there is a parlay between the Northern houses that have sided with the Ramsay Bolton and the Northern houses/Wildlings that have sided with Jon Snow. Ramsay chides Jon and tells him "There's no need for a battle, get off your horse and kneel." to which Jon replies "You're right, there's no need for a battle, thousands of men don't need to die. Only one of us. Let's end this the old way, you against me." Ramsay doesn't take the bait and tells Jon "I keep hearing stories about you bastard, the way the people in the North talk about you, you're the greatest swordsman that ever walked. Maybe you are that good. Maybe not. I don't know if I'd beat you, but I know my army will beat yours." Jon returns the verbal spar "Aye you have the number, but will your men want to fight for you when they hear you wouldn't fight for them" which draws Ramsays ire to Jon's satisfaction. With Meereen back under control, Yara and Theon attempt to make a pact with Daenerys for the Iron Islands. Rickon Stark runs for his life in vain, the Battle of the Bastards commences. Jon receives aid from an unsuspecting ally. Ramsay's story comes full circle. In Kings Landing, the High Sparrow and others prepare for Cersei and Loras' trial. King Tommen tries to attend but his way is barred by Ser Gregor. Margaery tries to convince the High Sparrow something is wrong, but his arrogance leads them to a fiery surprise. Tommen finds out what happened and takes his own life. The Frey's have a banquet feast celebrating the retaking Riverrun with the Lannister army and Jaime openly questions Walder Frey's importance to his face. Sam arrives at the Citadel and is permitted access to the Library. Ser Davos in Winterfell confronts Melisandre about Shireen's fate in an emotional explosion and Daario Naharis learns that he will not be joining Daenerys and her army to Westeros. Arya exacts her revenge on the Frey's for the Red Wedding as things start to shift in the Stark's favor finally. Bran received safe passage to the Wall from a long lost undead Uncle and we learn there is magic in the Wall that keep the army of the dead at bay. Bran goes into a vision and we learn the truth of a certain "bastard". while Jon Snow holds a meeting in the great hall of Winterfell where the Northern houses bestow the same title upon him as they did Robb Stark. With all members of the royal family dead in Kings Landing except one, she takes the crown for herself and Daenerys is finally on her way to accomplish what she has set out to do since Season 1. Join us for this bombshell conclusion of Season 6 as the Riddikulus Crew breaks down the key points, raises questions and debates topics. As Tyrion tells Daenerys, "You're in the great game now, and the great game is terrifying."

"A girl has been given a second chance, there will not be a third." says Jaquen H'ghar to Arya as we kick off the continuation of Season 6 Game of Thrones Episodes 5, 6 & 7. In the lair of the Three-Eyed Raven, we learn about how the Night King was created. Over in the Iron Islands there is a Kingsmoot for the Salt Throne and Euron Greyjoy pulls off the upset. Meanwhile, Jorah Mormont reveals his greyscale to Daenerys which means his certain death and as he bids her farewell to Daenerys, she tells him "Do not walk away from your queen, Jorah the Andal. You have not been dismissed." at last forgiving him for his betrayal. Bran goes behind the Three-Eyed Raven's back and enters a vision on his own, only to realize his folly too late as the Night King is able to grab him by the wrist in the vision, marking him. The Three-Eyed Raven awakens and knows what has just happened and tell Bran that he must now become the new Three-Eyed Raven because the magic of the lair will no longer keep the Night King out since he marked Bran. Bran asks the Three-Eyed Raven if he is even ready to take on this task, the Three-Eyed Raven tells him no. At Castle Black, Jon Snow is preparing with his war council for the upcoming battle against Ramsay Bolton and the other houses of the North. They realize they are vastly outnumbered so Sansa sends Brienne to Riverrun to request assistance from her uncle Brynden the Blackfish. The Night King arrives at the lair and Meera, Hodor and Bran have to escape with some help from Summer and Leaf. Is it going to be enough though? It will all come down to someone holding a door closed against the many wights. As we cruise into Episode 6, we get an interesting reunion with a certain familiar First Ranger that we haven't seen since Season 1. Sam and Gilly meet Sam's family at Horn Hill which goes about as good as you could expect, Arya screws up her second chance with the faceless men and the High Sparrow outsmarts Cersei, Olenna and Jaime Lannister once more. Brynden the Blackfish has retaken Riverrun and Walder Frey learns of this from his sons and then commands them to retake it using a certain hostage. On the road back to Mereen, Daenerys finds Dragon and mounts him while giving a speech to her new Khalasar. She says, "“Ei khal fin thir nak haan okhe sen dothrakhqoy alo ji qisi mae m’auijazeri ath dineur mae vas ma anha vos khal. Anha vo vakkan sen dothrakhqoy. Anha okkak el yeri. I ask your oath, that you will live and die as blood of my blood; riding at my side to keep me safe from harm. I will ask more of you than any Khal has ever asked from a Khalasar! Will you ride the wooden horses across the Black Salt Sea? Will you kill my enemies in their iron suits and tear down their stone houses? Will you give me the Seven Kingdoms? The gift that Khal Drogo promised me before the mother of mountains as the stars looked down in witness? Are you with me now and always?!) of which she receives a resounding chorus of approval. Now moving into Episode 7, one of our favorite dirty dogs happens to be alive! Jon Snow and Tormund talk the wildlings into fighting with them against the Boltons to retake Winterfell. Jaime Lannister has to come to the Frey's aid with the Lannister army to take over the siege of Riverrun. Now with the wildings secured, Jon Snow, Sansa and Ser Davos take on the grueling task of trying to convince the other Northern houses to fight for them. In Bravos, Arya is gravely wounded from the waif and she may succumb to her wounds as nobody will help her. Meanwhile, The Hound loses the only friends he had and he's ready for revenge. Join the Riddikulus Crew for part 3 on the continuous winding river that is Season 6 of Game of Thrones. This season's breakdown is not for the faint of heart as we will conclude it's evaluation in 4 parts! In the words of Ser Davos "The real war isn't between a few squabbling houses, it's between the living and the dead. And make no mistake, the dead are coming."

Brotherhood Without Manners - A Game of Thrones reread Podcast

Brotherhood Without Manners is back at it again with the next chapter from their full spoiler reread of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. This time reading Catelyn 9.   In this chapter Cat and her son, Robb arrive at the formidable house of Frey the Twins. The Bannermen of house Stark are furious to see that they are not welcomed openly by the Freys. Catelyn volunteers to treat with Lord Walder Frey, where we finally get a glimpse of how awful this man truly is. The Starks are granted access to cross the bridge on a few conditions laid out by Walder Frey.   As always we give our chapter inductees and read some listener emails.   All Music credits to Ross Bugden INSTAGRAM! : https://instagram.com/rossbugden/ (rossbugden) TWITTER! : https://twitter.com/RossBugden (@rossbugden) YOUTUBE! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kthxycmF25M

Navigating Hospitality. With Dedicated Food Folks. Welcome to a special episode, the second in a segment I like to call the Edacious Round Table. Instead of learning one person's journey, area Food Folks discuss a topic. The first covered #MeToo. Today we're talking hospitality. How do we traverse these waters in the stormy Age of Outrage? Are there folks just not allowed in the restaurant because of their choices? My co-hosts are Chef Laura Fonner of Duner's in Crozet and Chef Harrison Keevil who with his wife Jennifer runs Keevil & Keevil Grocery and Kitchen while also taking the reins at Commonwealth Skybar on The Downtown Mall. It's a volatile topic with many recent ties to this region. In February, Chef Scott Crawford refused service to a restaurant critic at Crawford and Son in Raleigh. In May, Boylan Heights was taken to task for their "No drugs, no thugs," policy which has since been discontinued. Then in June Sara Huckabee Sanders tried to eat at The Red Hen and we all know what happened there. Lines are being drawn and tempers are high. Are restaurants still safe spaces? Places of refuge for food and intelligent, thoughtful discourse? The employees of a restaurant can be family in the right situation. A chosen family. This is the case at Duner's where some employees have worked there for 30 years. Family and hospitality go hand in hand. All of us agreed family dinners and celebrations were so important growing up, setting the tone for the rest of our lives. Why is hospitality important? It can change a person’s day. It’s a gift we give to folks. Restaurant hospitality is taking care of you, feeding you good food, and making sure you leave happy. Can the restaurant remain a judgment-free zone? A safe space where you leave politics at the door and your only goal to be fed and fed well? Maybe socialize a bit? That’s what we’re here to work out. Over food of course. We all agreed a customer causing an outright disruption is a pretty simple problem to solve. The customer needs to be quietly handled. And shown the door. Hopefully without too much disruption. But what about someone in the public eye with extreme political beliefs who just wants to eat? We discuss the pros and cons of the various decisions business owners made in the past, then work out what we would do. Which isn't always easy. Choice is a privilege. It’s easy to choose to serve someone if you own the business, not so much if you’re washing dishes or scraping plates in the back for an hourly wage and no benefits. Think about this for a minute. Simple hospitality. Even at the Red Wedding, Walder Frey served the Stark family a meal before the knives started flying. We’re so divided. Hate begets more hate. Can’t we do the same with a smile? Take the hard road and make the effort to be nice. Being mean, showing them the door, is easy, being hospitable takes way more effort. Charlottesville is a crazy quilt of folks, from old hippies and punkers to Lulemon Moms to Farmington Fridas to Belmont Bettys, students, folks of color who have lived here for decades, or recently arrived as immigrants from far shores. Plus every Dad, frat bro, techie startup preppie and freshman student in flip flops just navigating Bodo's for the first time. We’ve always served them. Why wouldn’t we now? Be kind. Serve all. “Life is about dealing with the hard stuff, working through it, and making yourself a better person.” ---Harrison Keevil How do you navigate self-care in this volatile age? We spend a great deal of time discussing this, sharing tips, including two chefs working hard to create a better culture in the kitchen so folks will stay for more than a year or two. What works? Exercise is good. As is sleep. Good food. Which is hard when you spend all your time making it for others while navigating hate. Like we have to do this weekend if Nazis show up August 12th. We talk about this too, our preparations, our hopes. We all agree that what Brian Ashworth did last year when scumbags starting throwing the heil around Ace Biscuit was the very right thing. He showed them the door. Disrupt my place? Don’t need to see your face. “Customers do expect us to be superhuman. Remember, we’re humans just like you are. We have bad days too. And then we have to deal with your bad day.” ---Laura Fonner What two famous opponents just dined opposite one another at Duner’s without incident? Who is the Duner Lunar? Who do we all agree has the most important job in the kitchen? Listen to find out. I’m so grateful to these talented folks for sharing their day off as well as their thoughtful responses. I’ll remember this conversation for a long time. Be safe out there Charlottesville. Big Love. One of the most thoughtful conversations I’ve ever been a part of. Makes me proud to live in this town. Stay edacious. “I’m going to be at Commonwealth (August 12th). I’m going to be there to serve anyone who wants to walk through those doors...I hope people come out. I’m not scared. I’m going to do my job. I’m going to open the kitchen.” ---Harrison Keevil SHOW NOTES – Links to resources talked about during the podcast: Subscribe to This Podcast. Andrew and Manu have finally made it "Baelor," one of the most transcendent episodes of TV from this decade (and maybe ever). Appropriately, they start off with Varys' second visit to Ned Stark in the black cells of King's Landing, as the Master of Whisperers tries to convince him to support Joffrey to save Sansa. Then, it's off to the Riverlands, where through his mother Catelyn, Robb enters into negotiations with the nefarious Walder Frey. We're introduced to the creepy environment of the Twins, and Manu provides some of House Frey's history and Walder's background with Cat's father, Hoster Tully. Robb is presented with ominous terms, as he must agree to marry one of Walder's daughter to cross. He does so, but yeah, that doesn't work out well for him once he goes back on his promise. Merbear and the Maiden Jer - Game of Thrones

We discuss the events of the premiere of Game of Thrones. At the Twins, the remaining lords of House Frey are poisoned by Arya, disguised as Walder Frey. The White Walkers march toward the Wall, where Tollett allows Bran and Meera inside. At Winterfell, despite Sansa's disapproval, Jon secures the loyalties of Houses Umber and Karstark, who fought alongside Ramsay in the Battle of the Bastards. At the Citadel, Samwell steals books that reveal a large reservoir of dragonglass in Dragonstone, and sends word to Jon. He later finds Jorah in a cell. In the Riverlands, Arya meets a group of friendly Lannister soldiers, who take her intention to kill Cersei as a joke. Thoros shows Sandor a vision in the fire. The revelation leads him to believe in the Lord of Light. In King's Landing, Jaime tells Cersei of the crucial need for allies. She welcomes Euron, who proposes marriage to her in exchange for his Iron Fleet and a chance to kill Theon and Yara. Cersei declines, citing trust as a concern, so Euron promises to return with a "gift" to prove his loyalty. Daenerys arrives at Dragonstone, the home of House Targaryen once occupied by Stannis, with her army and dragons.

Welcome Renegade Nation it’s me Naughty Nicole and it’s time for another Renegade Review. And today, we have one of my favorites and I hope one of yours, Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere. Ah yes, the wait is mercifully over and this was the longest downtime between seasons in history, but the wait is over and we can finally find out what happens to all our favorites. Now if you remember we left on the line Winter is Here….. You have to hand it to Game of Thrones. If we were taking Super Bowl-style prop bets Walder Frey wouldn’t have had snowball-in-hell odds of being the first character seen in the first shot. The former Lord of Riverrun is, after all, quite dead. Yet, there he was. In a prologue sequence, Walder Frey appears in a Red Wedding-style setting and cheers his family on. As Walder stands at the head of his family it becomes increasingly clear he's not Walder Frey at all. He says he's gathered "every Frey who means a damn thing" so he can reveal his plans for the coming winter. He gives everyone "proper wine, for proper heroes" and they toast together and cheer. But then old Walder starts talking about the Red Wedding. He calls everyone "brave men" for, now get this... "butchering a woman pregnant with a baby" and for cutting the throat of a "mother of five." The room goes deathly silent. Then, people start dropping. "You didn't slaughter every one of the Starks. That was your mistake." Frey continues. "Leave one wolf alive, and the sheep are never safe." One by one, every Frey who means a damn thing drops dead right there — poisoned by that proper wine. Bodies lie motionless everywhere. Arya Stark peels off her Walder mask and tells Frey's child bride, "When people ask you what happened here, tell them: 'The North remembers.' Tell them: 'Winter came for House Frey.'" And Winter has come… all over house Frey’s pinched little faces. Now, THAT is how you start a friggin' season off!

Jessica and Dean had plenty to say about the 7th season premiere of Game of Thrones. Jessica and Dean were both fans of the cold open with Walder Frey, but they disagrees on the poop and soup montage. Dean was a fan, and Jessica could do without it - especially on a re-watch. Dean and Jessica both consider how powerful and capable that Arya is, and they doubt there is much that could stop Arya from getting to Cersei, which is why they think something will distract Arya off that course. The Hound continues to be the shining character, and he now carries the slogan, "The Hound Makes Everything Better." The disagreement between Jon and Sansa provides some thought (and debate) provoking discussion between not just the hosts, but the glorious and intelligent listeners. Dean briefly covers the Greyjoy Rebellion to give context to Euron's discussion with Cersei. The deadpool came up empty this week, but we expect some carnage in the near future. Overall, a great and necessary table-setter for the 7th season. Support LSG Media by becoming a member. In an exquisitely orchestrated series of unexpected events, we are left sated and curious. Who knew Game of Thrones could still surprise us? And even after reading fan theory upon fan theory, (sound, thorough theories) the show still managed to take us into uncharted territory while confirming the most popular GoT theory of all… R+L=J. I think we all knew that to be true, but it certainly feels validating to see it on screen. A Song of Fire and Ice surely has more than one meaning, but the key players are Dany and Jon. Sidenote, baby Jon is just as brooding as resurrected Jon. Cute. Jon’s parentage is an important reveal, but the true twist of the episode is the face-off at Riverrun as Arya Stark fed Walder Frey his sons, looked him square in his dispicable face, and killed him exactly how her mother was killed. And then she smiled. I am forced to face the reality that Lady Stoneheart was a heavy-handed Red Herring that gave us her psychopath second daughter to exact the revenge we know is due. I didn’t expect it, but I am at peace with that turn of events. I have long-loved Arya, and this feels good. That does not make me any less wrong. So, you know what that means, right? Yeah, I sing Justin Bieber on this episode because watching Firefly would have been way harder. I am sorry. Listeners of past episodes understand why this had to happen. Beyond the giant elephants of Jon and Arya, the finale served up… • The greatest costume Cersei has ever worn • Scary little birds • Wineboarding • Confessions of a mad queen • A library to end all libraries • The reflecting pool at Dorne • Unnerving passages of time • Sansa’s impeccable evolution • Lady Mormont is the best campaign manager EVAR The Winds of Winter was a phenomenal episode, and gave us much to discuss. I hope you stick around for the entire show as we recap the episode, recall moments that led up to these, and conject about what’s to come. Oh, and you know we read all of your comments, too. The blood that ties us, familial bonds and characters long thought gone. Episode 6 had a tough act to follow since it was, Hodorless, but it held its own nonetheless. We get to meet the crappiest dad ever, and no I'm not talking about Walder Frey. A long-lost Stark reappears, and a Tully that managed to avoid the Red Wedding also returns. Dany's teenage bad-boy dragon tires of whoring and sleeping and finally decides to seek out his mother. And a girl is no longer a girl, not yet a women. So, get a nice big dose of the dragon's breath and get ready for GAME OF STONED.   Halfway through the season you guys. Right out the gate we learn what happens to Bran and Meera, and it involves major visions. VISIONS. Bran is stuck in a loop where he gets to enjoy rewatching the execution of his parents, his own fall, and all sorts of fucked up things from the past. Like, for instance, the MAD FUCKING KING! No one expected that and we all just about died. And of course he looks like a maniac and of course he's screaming "BURN THEM ALL!" Awesome. Gilly endures the worst family reunion ever, and ultimately her, Sam, and babe, decide to cut family ties and steal a very important piece of weaponry in the meantime. Mace Tyrell proves, yet again, that he will always win in the Armor of Most Fabulousness contest. Not even Tommen's new KingsGuard can compete. Lastly, a girl decides that she isn't just a girl after all. She's a Stark. And she's gonna stick you with the pointy end. Oh yeah, and Dany. Being followed around by a Kalasaar of adoring bros. Dragon shadow. Flying. Shouting of speeches. The usual. We hope you enjoy this episode of Game of Stoned. The Cast Beyond the Wall: A House of the Dragon Podcast

We've crossed the halfway mark of Game of Thrones season 6 and the show continues to show no sign of slowing down. Blood of my Blood marks yet another episode of reveals on longstanding mysteries for both book readers and show watchers. The gents of The Cast Beyond the Wall are joined by GoodTrash Media's very own Frightful Femme, Kirsten Therkelson.  Things pick up with Bran immediately after last week's tragic sacrifice  when he and Meera are rescued by none other than long lost Uncle Benjen Stark. After being attacked by white walkers, he's more zombie now than man, but he remains loyal to the Three-Eyed Raven. We talk a bit about the somewhat anti-climatic reveal as well as the meaning of the flashes of Westerosi history witnessed by Bran. After a week off, the show returned the wretched hive of scum and villainy of King's Landing. This week saw Margery and Tommen making a deal with the High Sparrow which gave him the upper hand when faced with Jaime and the Tyrell army. It was a surprising turn of events that led to Jaime's being set to Riverrun. That's right! After nearly fading into obscurity, Game of Thrones is heading back to the Riverlands to revisit the home of one Walder Frey. We discuss what this could mean heading into what appear to be the final chapter of the show. Like what you hear? Help us produce even more by supporting us on Patreon!

Warning: This podcast contains spoilers for the Game of Thrones episode, “Blood of my Blood.” For a Game of Thrones episode titled “Blood of My Blood,” there was surprisingly little blood. We saw the return of Benjen Stark (aka: Cold Hands), and caught a glimpse of the Mad King’s death. We also witnessed some sneaky political maneuvers by the High Sparrow, who seemingly check-mated the Lannisters and Tyrells. Arya Stark remembers her name – and where she buried her sword, Needle; and we meet Samwell Tarly’s dad, who won’t be winning any “Father of the Year” awards anytime soon. “Oh, and have you met my dragon?” – Daenerys to the Dothraki “Blood Of My Blood” represents a number of turning points for the season – especially for Dany and Bran – as we begin to step into new and uncharted territory for the series. The Game of Thrones podcast crew of Dana, Vanessa and Peter dig deep into the fan theories that turned out to be true, and speculate about where the remainder of Season 6 is heading. However, we all agree that it was yet another great episode this season, and (thankfully) not as traumatic as last week’s. Also Discussed: We’re reminded that Walder Frey is still alive and needs to be killed, violently Edmure is also alive and being used as a pawn…but to what end? Jaime and Brienne are headed to the Riverlands – and Vanessa is positively giddy over the prospect of Lady Stoneheart’s possible arrival onto the show Sam grows a pair and steals a Valyrian steel blade from his prick of a father Arya is seemingly out of that spooky death cult and is, hopefully, going to make her way back to Westeros with her list of names and trusty Needle in hand Thanks for tuning in, and be sure to send your comments, questions or fan theories to dana (at) stimulated boredom (dot) com, and we will respond to your email on the next show!
