Welcome back nerds, we have some exciting news! ANLM has parntered with Through the Decades Cards (TTD). TTD is the biggest and best shop in Louisville for all things Magic, Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, and sports cards and we tell you all about some of the thing we'll be doing with them. Afterwards we touch on the differences between casual and competitive Magic and how we see our weekly Magic events. We also give you some thoughts on how to get into playing Magic. Then we discuss how Disney plans to continue licensing their IPs to gaming studios instead of making them themselves. That spawns a discussion on some of our favorite MMOs and what we loved so much about them. We talk Star Wars: Galaxies, Final Fantasy XI, City of Heroes, WoW, and more. We talk the mechanics and aspects of the games that we enjoyed so much and what is missing from the games on the market today.
Tons of video game talk this week! With the release of the remake of Resident Evil 2, we talk about that franchise a little bit and give our thoughts on what we think Capcom is doing right. On the topic of remakes, we explore what we'd like to see in remakes and what we don't like to see. Should you redo the fundamental mechanics of a game in a remake or leave it exactly the same as the original? We go on to talk about some of our favorite franchises including Mass Effect, KOTOR, Metal Gear Solid, and more. In addition, we discuss bugs in video games and why they are so hard to avoid these days and what is and isn't acceptable from our perspectives. The hype is building for a lot of the killer movies coming out this year, so we talk about some of those, too, including: John Wick 3, Detective Pikachu, Avengers: End Game, and more.
We saw Dragon Ball Super: Broly last week and we tell you all about it! Spoiler warning if you haven't seen it. We talk about the bad and the really, really good. We go on to talk about Dragon Ball in general and some of our favorite characters and stories. Plus, we tackle an interesting question: where do you recommend someone start watching the series? All of the entries in the series are different, so we go back and forth with what we think. We also spend some time reminiscing about anime and how it was in the 90s... the good ole days! After, we talk about balance in games. Video games, card games, miniature games, you name it. How are games balanced? What's tough about it? We give plenty of examples and discuss our experiences in Magic, StarCraft, DOTA, League of Legends, Final Fantasy, Counter Strike, Call of Duty, Battlefield, and more.

We've talked to Ryan about Ohio River Valley Cosplayers (ORCs) before, but this time we're also joined by his better half Kim to talk some nerd. Welcome to the first episode of 2019! We hope everyone had a good new year. Social media has been blowing up recently with some big movies and we talk about them both. Did DC finally hit their mark with Aquaman? Is it everything people are making it out to be? We talk plot, special effects, acting, and more. Then we move onto the next big craze... Birdbox. A Netflix original that is making some waves. We discuss the details and let you know what we think. After we talk movies, we move on to Magic the Gathering. In recent months we've been playing the Commander format which is very social, relatively casual, and fun. We've decided to jump headfirst into legacy, which is very different format and we tell you about it. Let's start the new year off right with some good old fashion nerd talk!

Welcome back guys! The new Fantastic Beasts movie is out and we went to see it. What did we think of the Crimes of Grindalwald? Chris has finally jumped shipped to team Android and his main reason... Hearthstone! We discuss what he likes so much about the game and we compare it to Magic: The Gathering, which we also play. Plus, should we support companies like Blizzard and EA by playing their games? On the topic of games, almost all of them these days use random number generation and we talk a bit about it. Hearthstone, Diablo, FPS, MMOs... all use RNG! Why is it so popular of a system? Do we like it? How does it impact the games? And if RNG doesn't add enough flavor to the game, then just add some flavor yourself and do some speed or challenge runs! Have we done any? Why or why not? This week we are joined by Ryan Gastinger, founder of Ohio River Valley Cosplayers (ORCs)! Terrible news struck the nerd community this week with the passing of Stan Lee. We take some time and discuss Stan's legacy and all the great things he did. Thank you Stan, we'll surely miss you. Then we touch on Disney's new streaming service and some of the content coming to it. We get to know Ryan a bit and discuss his favorite fandoms and nerd interests: Star Wars, Final Fantasy, Warcraft, Mortal Kombat, and more. We talk about his multiple cosplays, how he learned, and about the origins and purpose of ORCs. Supercon is coming up fast and we talked with Ryan about the awesome thing that ORCs will be doing at the convention including 7 different panels as well as a cosplay ER booth to help any cosplayers get fixed up in the case of a costume emergency. In honor of Halloween this coming week, we decided to dedicate an entire episode to it. We start out by talking about one of the cornerstones of the holiday: costumes. We talk about some of the best ones we've seen and Chris gives some more details on how his Kylo Ren costume is coming together. We end up on a tangent about Sideshow Toys and their quality and customer service. Then, we discuss our favorite Halloween movies and talk about some of the classics and some popular genres like horror movies and zombie movies. Nightmare Before Christmas, IT, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and more. We touch on carving pumpkins and some of the things we've carved. And... what's our favorite Halloween candy? Candy corn, Reeses, and many more. Can't talk Halloween without talking haunted houses, so we discuss those too. This episode was a little different than our normal ones, but it was a lot of fun!
We talk some serious nerd stuff this week! We had some interesting and fun games of Magic the Gathering and we tell you about it. Dungeons and Dragons and nerds go hand in hand and we open that can of worms. What are our experiences? How do we like to play? What is the good and bad of a D&D campaign? We go on some great tangents in there too: the nature of the force and the light and dark side, PLOT ARMOR, is Goku really that good of a guy? After this awesome topic we move to a fun one: what weapon would we use in the Zombie apocalypse? Chris get's all technical on us and we have some real world examples.
