Send us a text to let us know what you think of the show! This week on We're Probably Not Ok!, we break free from the usual chaos of verbal jazz for a laid-back Fireside Chat. Join The Man Kissed by All Angels, The Shepherd of the Forest, and Your Very Best Friend as they chat about whatever comes to mind. There's no specific theme, just good old-fashioned rambling.Brandon shares his exciting new plan for a series of episodes diving into emotions, while also admitting he's back in the grip of World of Warcraft addiction. Meanwhile, David awkwardly wrestles with how to accept a compliment he received at work, and Ryan brings a truly crappy story from the world of social work that'll have you cringing with empathy. The trio takes a nostalgic trip down memory lane, discussing their favorite N64 games they used to play together. Then, they discuss newer titles including No Man's Sky, Fallout 76, and the still kicking, nostalgia-laden City of Heroes. David, in his usual pursuit of personal growth, laments his lack of motivation to meet his goals. Ryan also gives us a spoiler-free-ish review of Nosferatu, and, of course, serves up a heaping helping of his signature Hog Wisdom that we can all learn from. It's all over the place, but it's definitely worth your time. So grab a blanket, settle in, and prepare to chuckle, cry, and nod along with us in this relaxed chat about nothing and everything at the same time.Don't miss it. You'll probably feel better afterwards. Or not.Watch our video game goofs on YouTube @ We're Probably Not Okay!Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. This week, Zak and Aaron sit down with notable Austinite John Henderson, who has shipped numerous games and made a name for himself in the local development community for hosting Game Dev Beer Night and supporting aspiring professionals as they try to make sense of their careers.John was kind enough to share his insights on a wide range of topics from advice on finding fulfillment in your job to maintaining motivation to the state of the industry at large. A few technical difficulties during the recording may have changed the shape of this episode a bit, but John's perspective and honest opinions are well worth the listen. Also, apparently Aaron doesn't know what the word "erstwhile" means, and he deserves your scorn and derision. Please, enjoy.Listen to Beach Girl on SpotifyCheck out edouggieart on EtsyCheck out even more edouggieart on Instagram
Wouldn't it be nice to run around and pretend like you had the superpowers you always read about in comic books? City of Heroes takes the pen and paper daydreams of children and translates them to a much-beloved cult MMO. Does it stand the test of time? Or are you better off just fucking around with the character creator?
Gather up, all you various tankers, scrapper, controllers, uhhh... that healer one... I'm just kidding I loved this game. It's City of Heroes, sort of! Insofar as it's a Unisystem take on the popular superhero MMO. Some of one. This is just an old playtest doc. We talk about why and what and all the rest today! Learn more about your ad choices. Featuring: Ashgar, Belghast, Grace, Tamrielo, and Thalen Hey Folks! We are back after taking a break last week due to the limited number of folks available. This week we start off with a topic that has bounced around a bit on our docket. Namely, we marvel at just how balanced City of Heroes/City of Villians is and what a pinnacle of system design it really is. Bel spent a bit of time playing Nightingale now that is available in early access, and talks about the mess of a game that it is. Finally, we dive into our primary topic this week and talk about the Last Epoch 1.0 launch and how phenomenal the game feels right now despite all of the server-side woes. Topics Discussed City of Heroes/City of Villains How is the design so balanced? Nightingale Not a Bad Game, but Not a Great One Either Last Epoch The 1.0 Launch Woes The Massive Graphical Overhaul Why we love the game Accessible Design Matters
Featuring: Ammosart, Ashgar, Belghast, Grace, Kodra, Tamrielo, and Thalen Hey Folks! It has been a few weeks since we recorded a normal show and I think we had a bunch of conversation in us waiting to get out. As a result, we recorded a bit longer than we should have but that is okay! We talk about Celeste 64 and that sort of gameplay translates to a very Mario 64 inspired game. From there Kodra shares his experiences with Songs of Conquest a game that is very much a nostalgic continuation of the Heroes of Might and Magic Series. Bel and Kodra talk about their experiences with the other new survival early access game Enshrouded and how it is shockingly complete, and really just needs polish. From there we dive into the main topic of the show where we discuss City of Heroes and how it is this perfect snapshot of the best of MMORPGs before World of Warcraft changed everything. Finally, Bel actually completes his four voidstones in Path of Exile and talks about what a difference a dedicated bosser makes. Topics Discussed: Celeste 64 Songs of Conquest Enshrouded When Crowd Control Mattered City of Heroes The World before Warcraft No Daily Chores is Refreshing What a Difference a Bosser Makes Bel Kills POE Bosses

Featuring: Ammosart, Ashgar, Belghast, Grace, Kodra, Tamrielo, and Thalen Hey Folks! It is that time again, time for our yearly Games of the Year show. Last year we learned that it was far better to record two weeks in a row instead of creating a marathon three-plus hour long show and cutting it in half. This week we dive into the second half of the show covering the final eleven games. These are games that were important to us this year and may or may not have actually been released this calendar year. A lot of them were, but I just wanted to set the expectations. This year we did not have a lot of overlap, which is to be expected given that the seven of us have some wildly different tastes. It was a big year and I am sure there are a lot of games that you think might need to be on this list that we did not choose. Hopefully, you enjoy our thoughts all the same. Games Discussed: I Was a Teenage Exocoloist Super Mario RPG Remake Boltgun Star Ocrean 2nd Story R Jedi Survivor City of Heroes Everspace 2 Alan Wake II Super Mario Wonder Honkai Star Rail Baldur's Gate III

Featuring: Ashgar, Belghast, Grace, Kodra, Tamrielo, and Thalen Hey Folks! Hopefully, everyone is staying warm this week with the big cold snap hitting the center of the country and more specifically impacting Bel and Thalen. This week we start off talking about the Rogue Trader CRPG and how it is doing a pretty solid job of moving the bar forward. From there we talk a bit about the upcoming Granblue Fantasy Action RPG and how we have been waiting for it since 2017. In shocking news, we talk about the City of Heroes Homecoming server and how it is officially licensed and we believe it is the first fan run emulator server project to achieve that status. Last Epoch is nearing its official 1.0 launch and with it a bunch more information about the Trade system came out this week so we dive into it for a bit and contrast it with our experiences from Path of Exile. Peglin has released a bunch of updates and we talk a bit more about that phenomenal puzzle combat game. Thalen shares some information about how Dungeons and Dragons Online is apparently just giving away a ton of content and selling a bunch of mission packs for cheap on top of it. Tam finishes out the show talking about how it has taken him the better part of a year but he finally understands Star Trek Online. Topics Discussed: Rogue Trader CRPG Granblue Fantasy Relink City of Heroes Last Epoch and Trade System More Peglin! DDO Giving Content Away Understanding Star Trek Online
Well the Golden Globes happened, and CES is still underway, hopefully you wont confuse the two. Lucasfilm dropped a thermal detonator's worth of news, a new star wars film, and a shows renewal. Xbox takes the first stage of 2024, and Star Citizen wants to take all your money, after it already did so. Layoffs continue in the gaming industry, as Hollywood kicks it back into high gear. Plus my favorite movies from 1991, since it was the year I was born. Come take a listen.

What was it like brainstorming the Kirby City RPG, its city and its characters into fictional existence ? Pure chaos! No really. This should have been the first podcast posted.I'd never played RPGs, or ran such a narrative - but this proves that anyone can! This episode is straight cobbled together from dozens of recordings, as I stumbled through making it the awkward screeching lumbering back alley mutant it is !Good thing I had cosmically crucial creative assistance from comic book fans like Rob (The Herald) , Dave M (Brass Lion) , Tyler ( KI-11 Droid), and David L (Chiller) to help me out, with special guest Jose R. Welcome back nerds, we have some exciting news! ANLM has parntered with Through the Decades Cards (TTD). TTD is the biggest and best shop in Louisville for all things Magic, Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, and sports cards and we tell you all about some of the thing we'll be doing with them. Afterwards we touch on the differences between casual and competitive Magic and how we see our weekly Magic events. We also give you some thoughts on how to get into playing Magic. Then we discuss how Disney plans to continue licensing their IPs to gaming studios instead of making them themselves. That spawns a discussion on some of our favorite MMOs and what we loved so much about them. We talk Star Wars: Galaxies, Final Fantasy XI, City of Heroes, WoW, and more. We talk the mechanics and aspects of the games that we enjoyed so much and what is missing from the games on the market today.
In this bonus lesson, Jeff discusses the HeroClix figures that game with the MMORPGs City of Heroes and City of Villains. He also creates a card and dial for his primary COH character, Cascadian.

“City of Heroes” Episode Description: Barry Allen, a forensic crime scene assistant for Central City Police Department, is struck by lightning during a storm that is created after a particle accelerator from S.T.A.R. Labs explodes. In a coma for nine months, Barry awakens in S.T.A.R. Labs, having been placed in the care of his scientist idol, Dr. Harrison Wells, along with his assistants, Dr. Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon. Barry quickly learns that he can move at extraordinary speeds, and that there were other “metahumans” created from the explosion. One of them, Clyde Mardon, is robbing banks and murdering people in the city with his ability to control the weather. In order to stop Clyde, Barry is outfitted with a suit that can withstand his high speed of movement. He tracks down Mardon and with the help of Detective West, who learns of Barry’s abilities, he is able to stop him. With his new powers, Barry vows to his father of finding out who killed his mother when he was a child, believing him to be another metahuman who has similar abilities of speed as his. Elsewhere, in a secret room at S.T.A.R Labs, Wells reveals he is not paraplegic, while reading a newspaper from the future concerning Barry’s fate as the Flash. FROM VIGILANTE TO HERO — Diggle (David Ramsey) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) travel to Lian Yu in search of Oliver (Stephen Amell) who left Starling City after The Undertaking. Convinced to return home, Oliver finds that things are in worse shape than he thought – Isabel Rochev (guest star Summer Glau) is preparing a hostile takeover of Queen Consolidated, Thea (Willa Holland) refuses to visit Moira (Susanna Thompson) in jail, Roy (Colton Haynes) is trying to fill the void left by the Arrow’s absence, and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) is working with the District Attorney’s office to take down the vigilante. Meanwhile, flashbacks to the island show Slade (Manu Bennett), Shado (guest star Celina Jade) and Oliver in a desperate situation.
After a summer of anticipation, we are ready for a "City of Heroes". Arrow returns and Oliver is coming to terms with his failure of saving the glades by beating up some copycats. Can he stop the vicious gang who call themselves "The Hoods" and become the true hero he is meant to be? And how is the new face of Isabel Rochev going to affect Queen Consolidated? And just who is running around Starling City in a skin tight canary suit? Jay and Josh discuss this and more, so listen in and justice will be served...to your MP3 player!

You always run through the forest barefoot and shirtless. Wing explains the Brother Blood reference to SP as a Teen Titan Villain. SP seems to enjoy Thea's nice orange dress. The devastation to The Glades is immense. We find PROOF that Quentin Lance is indeed the ONLY one in Starling City that doesn't know that Ollie is The Arrow. Wing didn't know about the Geico “Boots And Pants” Commercial (https://youtu.be/Lxc2nCmZzrs). How long is a window blind chain in an office building in Starling City? And how over engineered does it really have to be? Don't worry – we tell you. Who reads the credits anymore? Ollie's new bow is incredible. And how long does it take to take a costume off a mannequin and put it on? The reporters finish off the podcast by going through their “Bat Checklist.” If you missed us live catch us next time and chime in yourself!
