Can't knock the hustle like a post-NBA All-Star Weekend episode of #ckth2things with the one and only West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: QUESTION 1: With global NFL viewership on the rise and player “load-management” now at an all-time high, is the NBA slipping? Lack of Competitiveness in NBA All-Star Weekend The NBA All-Star game lacked a competitive edge and defensive hustle (to say the least) NBA player priorities have shifted — with today being more focused on personal well-being and protecting personal brands (Why can't more people just Be Like Mike) There's some heat directed at LeBron James for his role in this decline of competitiveness across the league (LeBron is a trendsetter, but perhaps not always for the best things) Decline in NBA All-Star Weekend Quality Comparing recent All-Star showdowns to the glory days of fierce competition (Detroit's Bad Boys were a thing of beauty) Adam Silver's got some calls to make to address this dip in quality and excitement (Aka David Stern was an OG) Fans feeling let down by the current setup and performance, hoping for some changes to up the ante (Remember when the NBA was “Fantastic” primetime viewing?) QUESTION 2: How does the NBA fix the slam dunk contest — and All-Star weekend as a whole? Suggestions to Improve NBA All-Star Weekend Let's tie those All-Star game outcomes to home-court advantage in the NBA Finals, give 'em some skin in the game (in addition to cutting people a check) Sweeten the pot with extra cash incentives to get the players more hype (Call Google) Getting nostalgic thinking about those jaw-dropping moments in the Dunk Contests of old, we need to bring that back (Spud Webb stand up) Impact of LeBron James on the NBA and Player Mindset Gotta give props to LeBron for his off-court efforts and the positive impact on communities (Big respect, obviously) There's talk about how his influence might be affecting the league's competitiveness and player loyalty (Aka lightening-rod LeBron) We're seeing some shifts in player control and loyalty, thanks to LeBron's influence and the changing NBA landscape (Player empowerment like whoa) PREDICTION: NBA's MVP award, Defensive Player of the Year and the NBA Finals NBA Season Awards Predictions Andre is calling Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Dončić as potential MVP contenders this season (Aka young guns on the rise) Keep an eye on rookie Victor Wembanyama for Defensive Player of the Year, he's making waves (Aka 10 block triple-doubles) And when it comes to the NBA Finals, my money's on the LA Clippers and Boston Celtics locking horns (#gobiggreen) NBA Playoffs Predictions and Team Analysis Let's get real about the Philadelphia 76ers' playoff prospects, it's gonna be tough (There's always next year) Looking at the LA Clippers as strong contenders for the Western Conference crown (If only they were still in San Diego) Don't sleep on underdog teams like the New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves; they might just surprise us (Because Anthony Edwards is a beast) As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the West Philly Hippie and The Good Ole Days Sports podcast for more expert analysis. Cheers and enjoy.
Can't knock the hustle like a post-Super Bowl episode of #ckth2things with the one and only West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: QUESTION 1: How did Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, Isaiah Pacheco and Company win the big game? The simple answer is that Hall of Fame players not only make plays when they have to — but they also raise the game of others around them Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Mecole Hardman stand up). QUESTION 2: How did the snake-bit 49ers lose the game? For starters, they abandoned their running game. Shout out to Christian McCaffrey for balling out all game long. NFL DRAFT PREDICTION: Finally, Andre makes some early predictions as to the upcoming NFL Draft — and reacts to the Sixers recent acquisition of Kyle Lowry and Buddy Love. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the West Philly Hippie and The Good Ole Days Sports podcast for more expert analysis. Can't knock the hustle like a post-Pro Bowl and pre-Super Bowl episode of #ckth2things with the one and only West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: QUESTION 1: What's up with the new Pro Bowl format? What do we miss about the old-school version of the game — and how to potentially fix it? The key component to this three-part question: The NFL has loot like Scrooge McDuck has cold coins — so they can start by incentivizing people accordingly to play real football. QUESTION 2: At this point, is the dynamic duo of Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce — aided just a bit by the likes of Taylor Swift — actually more famous than Patrick Mahomes? Possibly a push. SUPER BOWL PREDICTION: Finally, in addition to some postseason Eagles player personnel strategy discussion, Andre makes a bold prediction for this week's big game. So lock it in. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Fresh off of Andre recently being shouted out by The Big Aristotle aka Shaq. Can't knock the hustle like an NFL Conference Championships episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: AFC CHAMPIONSHIP TAKEAWAYS: What are the key takeaways from the AFC championship matchup between Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs versus Lamar Jackson and the Ravens? As previously mentioned, Mahomes is somewhat akin to the T-1000 in Terminator 2. Aka: The dude is simply hard to beat. NFC CHAMPIONSHIP TAKEAWAYS: What are the key takeaways as to the underdog Detroit Lions dropping their ticket to the Super Bowl against Brock Purdy and the 49ers? No finger-pointing here — but they had that game locked up — until they didn't. Playmakers make plays and you can't call anyone a game manager. NBA PREDICTION: Finally, as always, Andre makes a prediction involving the NBA — and Kyrie Irving. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Cheers and enjoy.
Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 Week 18 and Monday Night Football episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: Question 1: Which Team and player had the biggest win or the most heartbreaking loss? Josh Allen, win or lose, we salute you. But damn, that was tough to watch. Patrick Mahomes is like the T-1000 Terminator. Question 2: What are some of the other underlying stories and subplots that are connected to these playoff matchups? No finger-pointing here — but there was at least one big drop by Buffalo's top wideout. NFL Conference Championships: Finally, as always, Andre makes his predictions for the NFL conference championships this upcoming weekend. And we are rolling with League MVP Lamar Jackson to end up facing the tough-as-nails Detroit Lions and coach Dan Campbell in the next Super Bowl. Lock it in: Detroit will get the job done in an upset of the San Francisco 49ers. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 Week 18 and Monday Night Football episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: Question 1: Which organization and fan base had the roughest emotional letdown this weekend — the Cowboys or the Eagles? With expectations being high as ever in Dallas, we both agree that “them Boys” represent the biggest playoff letdown — by a slim margin over #thebirds. On that note, special shout out to longtime friend of the program and dedicated Cowboys fan, Thomas Moore. Question 2: Now that the Eagles have been bounced out of “the dance,” who do we want to see run the table? With all due respect to Josh Allen and the streaking Bills, we both are now looking to see Lamar Jackson and the Ravens put a Championship stamp on what has been a magical season for them so far. Finally, as always, Andre makes his predictions for the upcoming NFL Divisional Playoffs this upcoming weekend. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 Week 18 and Monday Night Football episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: Question 1: Who are the biggest winners from this past NFL regular season? We got Lamar Jackson aka the MVP, Baker Mayfield aka comeback of the year candidate — and Dan Campbell of the once lowly Detroit Lions all cracking that list. Question 2: Who are the NFL regular season's biggest losers? Coach Bill Belichick is up there — as he literally tied Tom Landry yesterday for most all-time losses. Eagles Playoff and National Championship Predictions: Andre makes his predictions for the Philadelphia Eagles in the Playoffs as well as for tonight's matchup featuring Michael Penix Jr and University of Washinton vs. Jim Harbaugh and University of Michigan. Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 Week 17 and Monday Night Football episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: Question 1: What are the key takeaways as to the Philadelphia Eagles getting back to their winning ways — beating a Tyrod Taylor-quarterbacked New York Giants squad? Question 2: Are Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in trouble come playoff time? With Andy Reid throwing forearm shivers on the sideline to Travis Kelce — and Taylor Swift serving as the franchise's main talking point this season, it looks like a new game plan might be in order. MNF Recap: We salute Lamar Jackson for his MVP-worthy performance against the 49ers — and Andre makes his prediction for the upcoming Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions game (shout out CKTH Ambassador, Thomas Moore). As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 Week 14 and Monday Night Football episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: Question 1: Who is gonna call it like it is with Draymond Green? He is an all-time NBA Champion and competitor. And the Warriors would not have even made the finals — let alone secured their rings without his fiery ways. Player safety is always important — but let's not stand here and act like this wasn't something that happened on nearly a nightly basis during the NBA's 1990s. Question 2: Are the Lakers betraying their Championship code by hanging the wrong kind of banner? We all give LeBron James his due respect and praise — but the only banner ceremonies should be for the Larry O'brien Trophy. MNF Recap: Andre analyzes how and why the Philadelphia Eagles have lost three straight. Can't Knock The Hustle of Jalen Hurts though. And hoping to see the #birdgang get back to their winning ways this upcoming week. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Cheers and enjoy.
Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 Week 14 and Monday Night Football episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, @westphillyhippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Today's topics include: First question: With the #birdgang now dropping back-to-back games, what is the issue with the Philadelphia Eagles offense? Turnovers always play a role but there's more to it than just that. Next question: Despite a loaded defensive roster, what is the issue with the Philly defense? The defensive secondary is looking particularly vulnerable these last two weeks. Finally, per the usual, Andre predicts the winner of tonight's Monday Night Football doubleheader matchups — between the Tennessee Titans and the Miami Dolphins as well as the Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 week 12 and Monday Night Football episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, @westphillyhippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Today's topics include: First question: Who is the best Team and the current front runner for MVP? Look no further than the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts. Next question: What does a Team with suspect leadership look like? A prime example is what's currently underfoot with the Panthers. The firing of Frank Reich isn't going to change the real issue with that organization (and wishing all the best to Bryce Young). Finally, per the usual, Andre predicts the winner of tonight's Monday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings (Win or lose — sending a special salute to #thepasstronaut aka Josh Dobbs). As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 Week 11 and Monday Night Football episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, @westphillyhippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. This installment is fully dedicated to last season's #SuperBowl. And, amongst others, today's topics include: First question: Who has the advantage when the @chiefs have the ball? With all due respect to @fcoxx_91 and @sack_55 and their defensive battery mates, it is impossible to fade “The Golden Boy” aka @patrickmahomes. That said, the @eagles have to keep a spy trained on #Mahomes — so that he is limited in picking up first downs with his feet. And with the weather tonight expected to be funky at best, the ground attack for #KC will need to play a key role. Next question: Who has the advantage when #Philly has the ball? Word is that @jalenhurts is back to full strength. So look for he and one of #philadelphiasfinest, aka @dreswift_, to also make plays behind a superior offensive line for #thebirds. Advantage Eagles. Finally, per the usual, Andre predicts the winner of tonight's #mondaynightfootball matchup, locking-in a victory for the Team in #green. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 Week 10 and Monday Night Football episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: Question 1: We first discuss the offensive woes of Penn State Football as well as the recent chemistry upside of Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and the Sixers. With James Harden now “systematizing” the Clippers, we are witness to an “addition by subtraction” situation in Philly. Maxey dropping a 50-point masterpiece the other night is a testament to this. And shout out to Kelly Oubre Jr. as he heals up from what could have been a tragic incident. Question 2: Is CJ Stroud now the front-runner for NFL MVP? We also touch on Dak Prescott routinely saving his best performances for when he plays the worst Teams in the NFL. Monday Night Football Prediction: Finally, per the usual, Andre predicts the winner of tonight's Monday Night Football matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Broncos. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Cheers and enjoy.
Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 Week 9 and Monday Night Football episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, @westphillyhippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Question 1 We first discuss the recent NBA trade involving James Harden, aka 'The System,' to the LA Clippers. Andre like what the Sixers got back in return: Switchable players Solid vets More room for Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey to operate unobstructed Shout out to Nick Nurse as he helps this new Philly squad gel. And another shout out to Doc Rivers — for always being one of the best ones to do it. Question 2 We unpack what was arguably the NFL “Game of the Year” thus far: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys, round 1. Andre was there live from “The Linc” and the Birds did their thing like usual. With the bye week up ahead, hopefully Jalen Hurts and Dallas Goedert can both get some much needed rest and recovery, especially before they face Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs next on the schedule (of course Dallas will be out at least three more weeks). And much respect to longtime Cowboys supporter, CKTH Ambassador and friend of the program, Thomas Moore for enduring another late Cowboys set of missteps in the clutch. Monday Night Football Predictions Per the usual, Andre predicts the winner of tonight's Monday Night Football matchup between the Chargers and the Jets. Without question, it will require a big game from Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Cheers and enjoy.
Can't knock the hustle like an NFL 23 Week 7 and NLCS episode of CKTH 2 Things with the one and only, @westphillyhippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: First question: What's good with the fighting Phillies and their continued march to the World Series? Per the usual Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber, both add to their postseason home run totals. And Zack Wheeler held down his elite status from the hill. Like before, you definitely cannot knock the Phils' hustle or clutch performances this season. Next question: What happened with the Penn State football loss to Marvin Harrison Jr and Ohio State football? Andre unpacks some questionable #nittanylions playcalling. But at least LeBron James is hype for the buckeyes rocking the new new lbj cleats from Nike. Finally, per the usual, Andre predicts the winner of tonight's #sundaynightfootball matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Miami Dolphins. Call it a heavyweight slugfest or a potential gridiron track meet, Andre still likes the home team birds against what is unquestionably the most potent offense in the NFL — spearheaded by Tua Tagovailoa. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Can't knock the hustle like an #nfl23week6 and #mondaynightfootball episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, @westphillyhippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: First question: How did the @eagles lose to #zachwilson and the @jets? No matter how you cut it, the other squad gets paid to play football in the #NFL — and the #Jets made some plays when it mattered. Next question: What's going on with the fighting @phillies and his their run to the #NLCS? From #bryceharper to #kyleschwarber, you definitely cannot knock the Phils' hustle or clutch performances this season. And Andre will be amongst the people tonight at the game. Finally, per the usual, Andre predicts the winner of tonight's #mondaynightfootball matchup between the @chargers and the @dallascowboys. To say the least, he's not picking #dallas. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Can't knock the hustle like an #nfl23week5 and #mondaynightfootball episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, @westphillyhippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: First question: Is @brock.purdy13 aka #mrirrelevant aka the pride of @cyclonefb really this good? The #defense for the @dallascowboys must be nodding their heads right now. Next question: Is the quarterback play by @_4dak, @macjones_10 and @dangerusswilson truly this bad? The fans of these three franchises are likely nodding. As for the Prediction phase of the program? Andre likes the #mondaynightfootball prospects of @jordan3love and the @packers tonight. So lock it in. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Can't knock the hustle like an #nfl23week3 episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, @westphillyhippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: One, are the @miamidolphins the best team in the #nfl? After a 70-20 beat down of the @broncos — a score you might only expect to see in #popwarner or via #madden, you got to give some credit to where credit is due. Big ups to @tuaman for blocking out the noise, the haters, the doubters and the bad luck from the past. The dude is leading a historically explosive offense and he needs more credit. Next question: Who has the worst situation in the League right now? Don't look now @nyjets fans … And finally, Andre outlines some upcoming predictions for the national storyline that is @killatrav and @taylorswift — as well as for this week's @philadelphiaeagles #mondaynightfootball game against #bakermayfield and the @buccaneers. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcast for more expert analysis. Can't knock the hustle like an NFL kickoff 2023 weekend episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: One, is Shedeur Sanders now the front-runner for the Heisman Trophy? Not since Rashaan Salaam was running for 2,000+ yards have the Buffaloes had a leader at such a statistical pace. Through two games, Sanders has thrown for nearly 1,000 yards — and he always seems like he is playing within the flow of the offense, even when the play has gone off script. And, like last week, Travis Hunter continues to show his unique skills and stamina as a two-way playmaker (with Michael Irvin gracing the sidelines, no less). Next, we review who are this season's NFL contenders versus pretenders. Finally, Andre shares his prediction for today's matchup between our Philadelphia Eagles and the Patriots. Don't hold your breath if you're a New England fan. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Can't knock the hustle like a new new #nflpreseason kickoff and #halloffamegame episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, @westphillyhippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: Mr. @westphillyhippie enjoying last weekend via a #vip vantage point for a concert experience featuring @snoopdogg, @wizkhalifa and @warreng — to name a few. And a big shout out that entire crew for what they continue to bring to the world of music and overall creativity. Next topic: The @nfl preseason kicking off with the Hall of Fame Game. @browns vs. @nyjets. Just don't be looking too hard for the #zachwilson cheering sections. Finally, Andre makes some predictions as to where the likes of @dalvincook and @leonardfournette and @ezekielelliott might be playing this year. On that note, the elite players at the #runningback position needs to be compensated according to their true impact on the game. Can't knock the hustle like a new new Paul Pierce episode of #ckth2things with the one and only, West Philly Hippie. Aka: Two things. Two questions. And one prediction. Amongst others, today's topics include: Paul Pierce standing his ground — regarding his own kind of greatness — against the likes of Dwyane Wade For starters, both of these individuals are unquestionably #nbalegends and #nbachampions in their own right. For all time. However, that doesn't mean that some extended analysis on this ongoing topic isn't needed — especially when talking about the legendary Miami Heat vs. Celtics battles — as well as the 1995 High School Class as a whole. Amongst others, today's topics include DeAndre Hopkins signing with the Titans. Do we like it? Can't knock the hustle of #dhop likely making the best financial decision that was offered. And any Team with him on it is adding a bonafide #halloffamer to the roster. Plus, the AFC South is essentially up for grabs next season — unless Trevor Lawrence continues to ascend, now with Calvin Ridley a part of that Jaguars receiving corps. Next up: Bol Bol to the Suns. Does this make them contenders? The idea of Brad Beal running point is intriguing. But who is coming off their bench? Who is going to play defense on the perimeter? The Western Conference in the NBA is stacked — and LeBron James arguably now has the best collection of young talent around him — since he joined the Lakers. But is that talent level enough for LeBron James to catch Michael Jordan in the rings department? We predict not — unless Rob Pelinka can also add Gianni Santetokounmpo to the #purpleandgold. Stamp that. As always, big ups and much respect to Andre for bringing the energy and sharing the knowledge. Tap into the @westphillyhippie and @thegoodoledayssports podcasts for more expert analysis. Cheers and enjoy. And #flyeaglesfly
Representing the Southside of Chicago, Ryan Flournoy is the son of a football coach. Despite him breaking school records while earning the nickname of "Super," he grinds like he is the last man on the roster. And though he has rare physical gifts, Ryan possesses an authentic leadership mindset and a hyper-focus on winning. While running a 4.3 or 4.4 in the 40-yard dash -- while benching 350 pounds and measuring over 40 inches in the vertical will keep him on every scouting radar. It is Ryan's love and passion for the game that gives him an opportunity to play on Sundays. Keep an eye out for Number 1 high-pointing a catch this season for the Redhawks. Big love and respect. Cheers and enjoy.

This podcast is about a new solo exhibition by David Hanes called Still Alive. The show opens on October 7 at 6pm at Mott Projects in Catskill, NY. The show's body of work demonstrates David's decision to turn away from his more critical, conceptual and minimal art-making and point towards a new practice rooted in method, technique and study. The title, Still Alive, emerged from conversations Hanes had with John Vincent Campbell on the CKTH podcast. Still Alive embodies where David is in his painting, self-leadership and his voice as a creator.

This installment is with a longtime friend of the program, the ever-talented and effervescent, Leila Spilman: A hustling business person, a working performance artist — and a compassionate community leader. Above all, Leila is a producer of vital creative energy. And being that she's a former freestyle skier, it's apt that Leila approaches the creative process with zero fear.
