It's been awhile and just wanted to share what is going on in case you are not a listener of the Speaklifepodcast.com where I have been providing weekly updates.   I don't believe God is  laughing at your plans.  Which in opposition to the old Yiddish proverb that Men makes plans and God laughs.   In spite of what is going on in my life, I am leaning into what Moses said. “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12   As we learn to number our days, we can prepare for the days ahead by committing them into God's hands and appointing them for the fulfilling of His purposes. Teaching us to not just sit and wait passively as to what the days will bring but praying for the days that haven't happened yet.   I also believe what God told Jeremiah, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Thanking you for being a part of my extended family.  https://gofund.me/a098f55b

Same feed, different theme. I have done some great things in my lifetime but I want to help just one more person not to give in to the battle within.  I am creating a positive, encouraging, and thought-provoking podcast powered by the mantra of Cpl Desmond Doss, “Lord let me get just one more.”  I know the world doesn’t like positive stuff so I ameliorated the choice of the title to turn the negative into a positive.  I am hoping it works.  I just want to save one more.  I’ve been in many situations where friends called on me to help them, listen to them, and convince them to continue.  I’m focusing that energy, that history, those experiences to get just one more.  I know I could be doing a lot of other things but I feel I am called to this. "Every man dies, not every man really lives" - William Wallace   I am preparing for the launch of a new podcast, “If I Die Tonight.”  It sounds grim but it’s about life.  I plan to take on the tough subjects and put a spin of encouragement, hope, and wisdom gained from not always doing the right thing but learning in the process.  Let me know what you think. All you need is one person to believe in you and you can make it.   Lord Help me get one more.

This week, I am starting a series on Goal Setting.  I think this is so important I am breaking my normal battle rhythm.  I am actually heeding the advice I am giving.  In full disclosure I don’t have it all together.  Something I learned many years ago is when you teach a subject you have to learn more to be able to present it.  I want to tackle this goal setting thing because from what I have learned so far is the reason I am not where I want to be is because I didn’t make, set, work, apply the right kind of goals for me.  I am going to take this opportunity in the chaos of Corona home detention to change this.  Will you join me?   The episodes may be shorter or longer than usual because again, I am breaking format to make this real.  There is an assignment at the end.  Don’t just listen, participate.        The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.     Support the show:  http://patreon.com/kennsgamechangers   Thanks,   Kenn

Store Shelves have been emptied across the world. Fights have broken out, carts piled high, and across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, most supermarkets imposed a cap to limit the number of toilet paper rolls a person can buy. There is no shortage of videos capturing the mass hysteria that has swept up globally as shelves are cleared. Hand sanitizers, cleaning solutions, canned goods, water bottles and pasta shelves have are also sold out. When people are told something dangerous is coming, but all you need to do is wash your hands, the action doesn’t seem proportionate to the threat. People naturally start to panic-buy when they think something is scarce, and photos on social media can easily fuel that panic. Your Key To Success: Conversation Why is Communication so hard? Asked of a single woman I know. The topic prompted me to share this with you so you can do better. Two Game Changing Points: 1. An open-ended question is a question that cannot be answered with a "yes" or "no" response, or with a static response. 2. Active listening. There are three levels of safe topics to talk about. More tips: * Be attentive and give eye contact. * Make active and engaged expressions. * Repeat back what you’ve heard, and follow up with questions. * If you notice something you want to say, don’t say it. Challenge it and go back to listening. * For bonus points, wait an hour to bring up that thing you didn’t say earlier. Communicate for intimacy. Good Luck. 7 - How To Get UnStuck

YOUTUBE There are many reasons we get discouraged and lose our motivation. It can happen at any age or stage of life. Dreams are what fuel us. When we don't have any daily motivation to drive us, we become bored or worse. Once we become stagnant, we get regretful.  We get angry.  We get stuck.  You could be incredibly talented, have the best contacts, and have a ton of experience, but they aren’t going to do you any good if you aren’t using them. One of the things I want to introduce on this podcast and blog is to occasionally introduce to some something you have heard of but may have never tried. One of the ways you can stay active mentally, stay fresh is to learn and try new things.  I have a small list but I want to share it with you.  Maybe what I share is not for you, but you will miss 100% of the opportunities you don’t take.  Why?  Because over time, all of us lose our desire to try new things.  Over time we become complacent and fearful of failure.  Over time we become stagnant.  Even fresh water starts to stink after a while if it just sits there. Some of us are struggling with the feeling of being overwhelmed.  We struggle with this issue because we know we are supposed to do something, but the what has us puzzled.  When your life is out of focus, your internal engine shuts down.  You lose your mojo.  You stop caring.  The longer you put something off, the harder it is to get it done? That’s because inaction fuels procrastination. It comes down to the way our minds work. Our minds aren’t designed to coast.   Listen in to this great man and I talk about mindset and his life.  Luther Smith Linktree: https://linktr.ee/tcg_umbrella

6 - Here's What No One Tells YOU about Smelling Good

I was working with security officers and police officers for over twenty years.  I was with some funky men.  Some of it was just a basis of not knowing any better.  Then there are the younger brothers I meet at church and at the gym.  I'm hoping some of you are listening. To all the fellas that are joining the podcast and checking out the blog, thanks! What no one tells you about your smell. Let's fix that. A man sees but a woman smells.   Smell is our strongest sense. It is connected to our memory. Women like to be with guys who smell good.  Wearing a fragrance is a distinctive way of expressing yourself. Depending on the scent you choose, wearing a fragrance can make you more attractive and more approachable. A majority of the fellas don't wear a fragrance.  I remember in the Marines the SGTMAJ would say something like, "it smells like a Whorehouse in here, who's got the perfume on?"   The purpose of this show is to make you better. If you want to attract a woman and keep her attention – pay attention to your smell.   Do I have your attention yet?     What do people most often overlook?  Their noses.    Going to share about cologne and perfume but before that, let’s talk funk.   How's your breath?  Do you walk around making flowers droop?  Do dogs move away from you?  It could be your breath.  You might have the chronic, halitosis.  There are not that many mints in the world.  Do you know bad breath is still plaguing up to 10 percent of the world?  That is like 7 billion people if I use my hands to count. If you’re worried you’re one of these people, one trick is to lick your wrist, wait ten seconds, then sniff the patch you licked: If it smells, chances are, so does your breath. If you are not sure just ask a home girl. A friend, neutral female friend. This, in fact, is true of any concern you have regarding your various bodily odors, be it mouth, foot, armpit or even groin (okay, maybe not groin. Just wash your ass man). Find somebody you know and trust and ask them,”. If they tell you that you don’t smell bad, then most likely, you don’t have anything to worry about.” Just remember, if they tell you that you smell fine while backing away with their eyes watering, you may want to try asking somebody else. It’s nearly impossible to smell yourself, even if you’re smelling funky. The receptors in your nose that would normally respond to your own particular brand of smells practically shut down after being bombarded with the same scents for so long. Basically, your nose goes numb to your own stank so you don’t go insane. Sweat usually means bacteria, and bacteria is what gives off the stench.  Just because it is natural doesn't mean we want you around. Now go by the golden rule of body odor: If you can smell any odor on yourself at all, others can smell it a lot more. Put on more deodorant, use wet wipes to give yourself a quick cleanup, or put on a new change of clothes. The same rules goes for deodorants, perfumes, colognes, and body sprays too. If you can still detect your fancy perfume on you after a while, other people can definitely smell it when they’re around you. Lets’ talk about fragrances. Forget what my SGTMAJ said.  Buy some cologne.  It will differentiate you from inmates, teenagers, and men that can't get a mate. Smelling good and using fragrances is something else no one talks about.   But I want you to shine.  You know the motto of the Game Changers podcast. When you know better, you can do better.   Wearing a fragrance is a distinctive way of expressing yourself. Different scents carry different vibes, and knowing these vibes and choosing accordingly matters. Also, people associate scents with memories and other people (especially women). If you are wearing scents that are unremarkable or common – you'll smell like everyone else.  Think of how you think a old man smells.  How does 13 year old smell?  How does a prisoner smell?  Is it starting to gel?   Smelling good, brothers: It can increase your level of attractiveness. It can increase your perceived level of trust. It can effect on how people perceive you. It can reduce stress levels. It can increase confidence levels. It can increase your alertness. It can double your chances of getting a woman's phone number. 80% of men don't use a fragrance regularly! Major brands create perfumes that are part science and part marketing. They have a familiar feel to all their perfumes. Ralph Lauren perfumes, for example are created to have similar scents. And the same for Polo.  It is too strong for some and just right for others.  When deciding to purchase a new fragrance – let your nose decide!   Cost isn't based on what is good or bad.  We end up paying for the marketing cost and the image associated with a brand.   In the podcast I'll be sharing in detail: The types of fragrances. How to test them. Which one to buy. How to apply them best.   I know this is something that nobody else had the guts to share with you but I had to.  I want you to win.  I want you to rock it.  I want you to be a game changer.   Http://support.kennspodcast.com https://patreon.com/blackmanwithagun

    Lust Please

Today, I know the difference between love and lust.   That wasn't the case 20 and 30 years ago. Lust is an intense sexual attraction to another person.  You just want to do what biology is calling on you to, by any means necessary.  It is fueled in your mind by fantasy and competition.  You want to "hit the bottom" or knock a hole in that thing. It's goal directed.  It's addictive.  It's self centered. You just can't wait to get in to it. Oh I remember those days.  When it is mutual, it can be animalistic. When it is not it violates. It can endanger.  One of the only good things about lust is can be what starts a good relationship.  It can be what allows for deep physical connection, if we survive the fire. When your hearts on fire, smoke gets in your eyes. Lust feels like love until its' time to make a sacrifice. Love and lust, however, are not identical and can appear in any combination, with or without the other, fluctuating between the two states over time. Love is a basic human need that keeps us bonded to the people who matter most. A secure, loving attachment with a romantic partner involves a deep affection, trust, and acceptance of a person, with all of their flaws. I want to tell you about a girl I lusted after.  She had a serious hour glass figure.  When she wore her red, she could stop traffic.  Police officers used to follow us, just to see her. She had a peek a boo bra. She was big up top. She was hotter than Georgia asphalt.  She spoke with a low deep voice.  She was not good for me. She was a 1971 Chevy Corvette.  She had a big block 454 engine with a Edelbrock blower peaking out of the fiberglass hood.  It had hard detachable t-tops. In the summer, you could feel the temperature from engine compartment.  It didn't have A/C.  The motor was so powerful it had chains assisting the motor mounts.  You could torque the frame with the RPM of the engine. She growled when she idled.  She got 10 miles to the gallon in the city. 12MPG on the highway under 60.  She got respect and a lot of looks.  I had to park her away from other cars.  She was horrible in bad weather.  She slid on wet pavement like a ice skater.  It was lust. She gave nothing back. When you want a cool car, it is lust.  The car can't and doesn't love you back.  It is one sided. Lust is like that.  There is no commitment.  She'll put you down in a out of the way place.  She'll wear out, or be sold for something newer. You don't do that with a person you love. 15 Rules For a Loving, Lasting, and Satisfying Relationship by Janet C Hall and Steven R Hall | Dec 13, 2019 Conversation with the authors of 15 Rules, Janet C. Depression The Stigma The Truth What do you do when... Conversation with a Dr of Psychiatry 1-800-273 TALK (8255) Has something happened in your life recently that has got you down? You going through something? (Most of us are) You drinking, smoking or popping something to help you cope? You watching a lot of porn? (what's a lot, right?) You might be depressed. Persistent sad, anxious, or feeling “empty” Feelings of hopelessness Irritability acting like you got sand in your draws Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities Decreased energy or fatigue Feeling restless or having trouble sitting still Difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions Difficulty sleeping, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping Appetite and/or weight changes Thoughts of death or suicide, or suicide attempts Aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems without a clear physical cause and/or that do not ease even with treatment Not everyone who is depressed experiences every symptom We throw ourselves into work, into household projects, we try to stay busy but sometimes, you have to fix you. Beyond Treatment: Things You Can Do Here are other tips that may help you or a loved one during treatment for depression: Try to be active and exercise. Set realistic goals for yourself. Try to spend time with other people and confide in a trusted friend or relative. Try not to isolate yourself, and let others help you. Expect your mood to improve gradually, not immediately. Postpone important decisions, such as getting married or divorced, or changing jobs until you feel better. Discuss decisions with others who know you well and have a more objective view of your situation. Continue to educate yourself about depression. Do you have a win? How about a loss? Previous personal history, health, age or economic status often doesn't matter.  If sperm fertilizes egg, there is a good chance a baby will be produced.  We are created for procreation. Most of the men I know didn't know what kind of father they would be.  Some want a lot of kids.  Some want only one.  Some wonder if they will be good enough.  Some wonder if they can afford it.   It is a common thought to not have children in this day in age.  It has always crazy.  It has always been bad.  It is always a turbulent time.  Kids are born anyway every day. That is the way of the world. Ready or not.   Aside from any of that, what do you do after they arrive.  it doesn't matter if you are married or not for the biology to occur.  Your social status, ethnicity, race, or age doesn't matter as it relates to if it will happen.  What do you do after the baby is born?  You have to adjust.  You have to adapt.  You have to change your plans.  Children are a game changer.   Marriage, which, when done right really helps you raise a good child is not in vogue, not popular and not understood.  Do you realize how easier it is to raise a healthy, happy child in a loving home, with shared values, incomes, and goals?  Do you realize how great it is not to struggle mentally, physically and spiritually as some do?  Marriage is not the answer for everyone but it is not what folks are doing these days that we call marriage either.   Marriage is not the magic pill.  You must be mature. You must be close to the same page.  You must communicate.  You must want to grow.   And on top of it all there are people that use children to live.  They use welfare like a career path.  They have them so they will be supported financially by the state or you for the rest of their lives. There are those that think all they want is the child they don't want you.  They like your genes.  You are reduced to being a sperm donor.  You'll make a pretty baby, they think.    One of the truly crazy things in today’s culture is that crazy behavior is supported.  You will find groups and organizations that promote and give advice to behavior that is detrimental to a child.     But let’s say, no matter what your situation is, you are father.  How do you become a dad?  In my humble opinion, you have to change your priorities.  You have shown love.  And before I lose you, if I haven't already, I'm talking about sacrificial love.  The love that takes over your life so that you would give your life for your child. You child didn't ask to be here.  It can be raised by the state.  It can be raised in brothel, crack house, or the streets.  The only reason and the only way your child will make it is if you protect it, love it, nurture it, teach it, feed it, all of that.    OK lets back up.  the kid has been born, the mother is a psycho chick with a nice body.  it was a one night stand, or a repeat offense cause it was that good, she is not someone you thought would be a good mother but... or she belongs to another, was married, separated and ... there are a million scenarios   if you don't have children right now, and you are listening, allow me to help you understand the importance of contraception, the importance of abstinence, the case for waiting, the case for being smarter than your penis, deciding not to take the hot chick to bed immediately as if her expiration date was fast approaching.   the case for marriage, the case for planning because the alternative is to be a single father, dealing with a woman that doesn't want anything to do with you except your child support.  Another child getting lost in the system, thinking her father doesn't love her.  thinking all men must be like that guy....   But my guest this week, is a humble guy, a good man I met at work.  He just recently became a father, since I've known him and from the outside looking in, is doing damn good at it.  His name is Garnder Douglas. He is an Army vet.  He is an entrepreneur and a podcaster.  And he is the second guest on Kenn Blanchard’s' Game Changers Podcast.
