Geoff opens the show by asking a legitimate question to open the show. During these germ-aphobic times, should you wash your hands if you touch nothing but your own penis in a public restroom? The NFL possibly incentivising Minority hires with hire draft picks is tokenism at it's finest. GTFO! Baseball may be back in July and the players want their fair shake when it comes to revenue sharing. Do they have a beef? Blake Snell... The Last Dance has come to a close. Where do we go from here? Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje did not disappoint at UFC 249! Dan and Geoff recap the card. Including a conspiracy theory that former domestic abuser and NFL pass-rusher, Greg Hardy is being served cupcakes to boost his ranking. And we're pretty sure you could fire a bazooka at Ferg's scrotum, and he wouldn't fall down. This day in baseball history trivia is the toughest opponent yet, for baseball Rainman, Roger Castillo. "The Last Dance" 7-8. That's right, we're recapping that too. Let's see what wormholes 3 sports junkies with no sports can be lead down by the two latest episodes. Learn more about your ad choices. Dan stalks Kenneth Copeland's twitter feed for gold. We do a deep dive into episodes 5-6 of "The Last Dance". A look behind the scenes with Michael Jordan like we've never seen before actually makes LeBron James' legacy MORE impressive...not less. We'll explain. What was the real story with the '92 Dream Team? Did Michael really put commerce before morality or was he just too focused on hoops? RIP to Don Schula. The Red Wings may be guaranteed a Top 2 pick in the NHL draft...but not everybody is happy about it. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
You heard me. The title speaks for itself. Inebriation takes over as we recap the NFL draft and episodes 3 and 4 of "The Last Dance". The Detroit football Lions draft was good but also bad. How long will Okudah be a Lion? (not long). Dennis Rodman should be your favorite hoops player ever. If not, then F-YOU!! Phil Jackson is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in NBA history. But is it because he lucked into 2 of the greatest players ever? Or is it more than that? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Corona Laugh Cast Vol.4 from our cabin fever positions...yay. Pretend Army men, snow, and Fitbits turning into vibrators are really softening Dan's hard. Brady and Gronk are reunited like Peaches and Herb! Did Tom Brady "out-Belichick" Bill Belichick? NFL Draft Buzz and Rumors - "Hopeful or Hyperbole?" This Day in Baseball morphs into a trivia game for Roger...and it is nothing short of an impressive performance. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Rev. Ken Copeland introduces us as he continues to be the funniest man in America. How does one get into the "Jesus Business"? We welcome a new member to our dysfunctional family of assholes. Newborn babies look like lubed up catchers mitts. This day in baseball history is important, but not really. The NFL draft is close and the Lions are projected to mess it up (AGAIN) and still somehow, select the best player available. You figure it out, bitch! Learn more about your ad choices. Corona Laugh Cast Vol. 2 Two Legends, Al Kaline and Bill Withers passed away since our last show (neither of which appear to be Covid related, so I guess that's good?). Al was Mr. Tiger which somehow leads us into a Tiger King wormhole. Dan has been working tirelessly on his Joe Exotic impression. You be the judge. Dana White is closing in on buying an island to have UFC fights for foreign nationals that are not allowed to fight in the US. What else happens on "Dana Island"? Let the Geoffrey Epstein jokes fly!! We've got a few more names for Geoff Mehl on the "Danny Amendola Plateau". David Dejulius is entering the transfer portal?! WTF? Major League Baseball is discussing some radical ideas to play the 2020 season amid the COVID-19 pandemic. We're all so starved for sports, that we're all in on it...IF it is done correctly. CoronaLaughCast!! is under way as the guys sit down to discuss how delightful it is to discover Judge Judy in 2020, How televangelists are the funniest thing since soft penises, and how fun it would be to watch Aaron Rodgers and John Daly play beer pong together. You're welcome. Also some NFL Free Agency Stuff. Stay HARD out there... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
With even less going on in the sports world than last week, the guys sit down to have a fireside chat about pink eye, Kirsten Dunst, and what to do when we all run out of toilet paper (they never talk about that in the zombie apocalypse movies). In honor of voting day in Michigan, we pit some sports legends against each other in a presidential election. Which of them are better suited to WIN AN ELECTION in 2020 (not necessarily who will make a better president)? The Big Ten Tourney may be the best conference tourney college hoops has ever seen. Is Curtis Blackwell starting to overplay his hand in his lawsuit against Michigan State? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Dan has one too many pops during this episode, so buckle up. Meat vs Plants...which diet works better? Dan is taking the steps to experiment on his own body to find out once and for all. Who is going to vote for BARRY Sanders in the upcoming Presidential election? We know Garth Brooks will be. This gives us an idea for a new reality show... The NFL Combine is the most interesting, boring thing in the American lexicon. Michigan players are crushing the combine...so why can't Jim Harbaugh win anything? We talk a little college hoops and other nonsense as well. Please subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts, and tell your friends. Every little bit helps! Learn more about your ad choices. We recap Wilder vs Fury II and dive into why the "experts" got it sooo wrong. It's time for Wilder to learn how to be a GREAT boxer instead of a very good one while using a crutch. Can it be done? We get @rogcast81, "The Cuban Creation", Roger Castillo on the horn from Tigers SRD, Tigers Minor League Report, and Motor City Bengals to talk about the start of Spring Training and what to expect from the Detroit Club in 2020. Dan has an underwear bet regarding a long NCAA tourney run for one of our local schools. They both have strengths and the right ingredients to make a strong Final Four push. We'll touch on all of them. And, did the Detroit Football Lions dropped the ball on the Stafford trade talks? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Mel Tucker is the new head coach at Michigan State, but how should Spartan nation feel if a coach uses the program as a stepping stone to something bigger? Big 10 hoops is a mess...or is it? The turmoil inside the Michigan State Football program continues to rear it's head as it's top candidate, Luke Fickell turns down the job. Other top candidates have decided not to even take an interview for the position. However, there could be a savior in the shadows that could begin the process of healing the tainted brand. THIS IS THE XFL?! We all hope so. The football was good. And Vince McMahon appears to have learned from his mistakes in the first go-around. Does the XFL have a chance?...Maybe. Philip Rivers is leaving LA. As one of the more likable guys in the NFL, what is next for him? And how will he be remembered if he hangs up the cleats? We recap Jon "Bones" Jones' controversial victory over Dominick Reyes at UFC 247. After the Mike Vick 30 for 30...have opinions changed on him? Have you already forgiven him? Will you NEVER forgive him? How much do you really know about Mike Vick? It's time to take a closer look if you only know that he was a great football player that was busted for fighting dogs. It's just so much more complicated than that. Andre Drummund is GONE! And the state of Michigan Basketball has been a roller coaster of emotions this season...but the future looks pretty stable. We'll explain. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Mark Dantonio announced his retirement as head football coach at Michigan State University in the midst of more allegations from his former "recruiting guru", Curtis Blackwell during a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by Blackwell against Dantonio, Michigan State, and others. Allegations of NCAA rules violations, and the possibility that Dantonio committed perjury during his hours-long deposition, make the timing of his retirement suspect at best...or is it one big coincidence? Given his age, the current state of the MSU football program, and the exhausting mess that the Blackwell situation has brought upon him...is it possible that Dantonio is just done with it all? Super Bowl 54!! What a game! Who do you credit with the 49ers' fourth quarter collapse? Is it Kyle Shanahan again? Or is it poor play from Jimmy G-Q? The Chiefs did go out and take care of business, and officially ushered in Mahommes, Jackson, and Watson as the next great crop of QB's. Can we now officially change the way that we discuss Black QBs in general? Can we talk about them now as if the are QBs and not "Black QBs"? Why is the Detroit Lions' organizations such a s**t show? It's often been speculated, but never proven. Calvin Johnson and Richard Sherman dropped some knowledge about why they didn't want to play for the Detroit Lions. In the end...treatment of players at the pro level is a big deal! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Kobe Bryant had an effect on the world that wasn't fully known until now. Now that he is no longer with us. This podcast was recorded to try and put that in perspective by our three hosts. Dan, Dave, and Geoff grew up in the sweet spot for admiration of Kobe. Those generations before had Michael, Magic, Kareem, or Bill and Wilt. The generation after has LeBron and the new crop of Giannis and others. Kobe took basketball global in a way that no prior superstar had done. He wasn't without flaws, and we cover that as well. It is hard to find another global star who's death and circumstances surrounding it, had such a profound effect on the entire world. There didn't seem to be an phoniness or pandering to the reaction of his passing that we've see with other major celebrity deaths. That is what makes his death so devastating, yet morosely beautiful in a way. #MambaOut Other topics that we'll cover in this episode are: The feud between Joe Rogan and Stephen A. Smith, a preview of Super Bowl 54, and the ridiculousness of the Pro Bowl. We also have some laughs in remembrance of Kobe. How long do you spend on the s**tter? It's an important question that not many of us think about as you could be wasting huge chunks of your life. The Superbowl is set and nobody is surprised by the match up, but everyone seems pretty happy with it. The Packers may have been semi fraudulent, but Lions fans taking the amount of joy that they seem to be is mildly pathetic. The idea of drafting Tua is being thrown around for the Lions and it's not about weather or not this would make you happy. It's about who is in the green room deciding on the selection. Bob Quin has a certain track record in his first round drafting....for better or worse. Also, the 2020 NFL Draft will be ON A BOAT, MOTHAF**KA!! The Aaron Hernandez documentary on Netflix was good...but it was full of too much speculation and hyperbole. It spent a little too much time sensationalizing Aaron's possible homosexuality and CTE. Connor McGregor knocked out Cowboy Cerrone faster than you can pour a bowl of cereal. What is next for "Notorious"? Jose Altuve's "Vibrator". Who is the turd that didn't vote for Jeter? Delonte West took an L (Dan makes a bad LeBron Joke). Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Morality and Winning. Can they coexist in college football? Dan, Dave, Geoff, and Mike discuss the latest piece by Tony Paul in the Detroit News about the 2016 sexual assault scandal that rocked the Michigan State football program. Taking place just as Larry Nassar's offenses of sexual abuse against hundreds of young girls under the guise of being one of the nation's leading osteopathic physicians for athletes, and gymnasts in particular. His sick mania took place right on the Michigan State Campus for decades. A scandal that implicates the football team is the last thing MSU needed, and head coach, Mark Dantonio knew it. The program has never been the same. MLB's, Houston Astros have also come under fire this week. In the wake of an investigation by Major League Baseball, the 'Stros were handed the most severe penalty that a Major League team has ever received after being found guilty of using electronic video and photography to steal signs from opposing catchers during there 2017 World Series run. Again...Morality and Winning. Can they coexist? On the more fun side, The NFL Divisional round was the most entertaining set of playoff games we've seen in years. With Mike Vrabel and the Titans knocking off two juggernauts in New England and Baltimore, did the Detroit Lions hire the wrong guy in Matt Patricia? Slow down. The answer is...maybe not. LSU wins the National Championship behind an historic, record setting season by quarterback, Joe Burrow. Is Burrow the greatest collegiate QB of all time, or is he simply the subject of recency bias. We'll debate. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Dan almost accidentally killed a Red Wings legend in local parking lot. A true story that is not as exciting as it sounds. Is the Brady-Belichick era truly over? If so, what does it mean to you? Is it the kind of happy sadness that you might feel when your done gorging yourself on a greasy pizza alone in the dark? The NFL Coaching hires continue. Matt Rhule gets a monster deal to coach the Carolina Panthers. It's a little confusing, but ultimately not a concern. We explain. Jim Schwartz possibly coaching the Cleveland Browns? Is disaster imminent, or could this be the perfect fit? NBA teams are inquiring about Andre Drummond. Which means the Pistons could be on their way to fulfilling their New Years resolution early in 2020. What about a Derrick Rose trade? Three words...Acquire assets, dammit!! Michigan and Michigan State played a basketball game on Sunday. Leaving Michigan State fans much to be happy about. As for Michigan fans...just calm down. We'll give you all of the reasons not to be concerned. We give you our final week of football picks with our standings in a dead heat! Who will take the picks title this season? New Year's resolutions for your Detroit teams? We have them, and we don't think they are too much to ask. We give you one thing that the Lions, Pistons, Tigers, and Red Wings should all be resolving to do in 2020. There is probably no wrong answer. In a year where almost every Detroit sport has been nearly unwatchable, who is the Detroit athlete of the year? Really think about it...It's not an easy answer, but we've got ours. The Detroit Lions almost blew their loss to Green Bay on Sunday. But, alas! They have secured the 3rd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. What could possibly go wrong? Assuming Chase Young is off the board at number three, what should the Detroit Lions do with that third pick? The National Championship is set in college football. Try to be objective when considering...was Ohio State robbed? Just a little bit? Dan made an observation about Michigan fans while watching Ohio State vs Clemson at a local watering hole and Geoff is in total disagreement. What are the best and worst moments for Detroit sports teams in 2019? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Is Lebron James actually a good GM? How are the Pistons soooo bad? That's right NBA talk finally dominates the early discussion this week as the start of the real season (Christmas Day) approaches. A tight-end that nobody remembers is speaking out on the "toxic" culture that Matt Patricia brings to the Lions facility. How credible is he? Not very, but some other former Lions may be. Michigan basketball drops 9 spots in the polls? We'll chalk this up to the unbelievable parody that we're seeing in college hoops this year as 4 #1 teams have already lost. It's not even Christmas yet. Dan brings out his list of things that are "just as likely" to happen as the Patriots getting busted for cheating again. We give you our picks for the first weekend of bowl games and a couple of NFL slug - fests this weekend. Our Fourth and Medium segment brings up some coaching questions around the world of college and pro football. Who is the best man for the job? Where should Urban Meyer coach next? The Detroit Lions need to clean their room before they think about cleaning house. Dan, Dave, and Mike welcome our resident Jew, Abe in Southfield to help us breakdown the recent debate over whether it is truly time to wipe the front office clean...again. Is it more "Lions" for Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn to go now...or later? Abe walks us through the life of Jewish America as he tries to quell the imaginary ground swell popping up to have our show cancelled. Stephen A. Smith putting together a list of the "most annoying" people in sports is an irony for the ages! Michigan football takes on Alabama in the Citrus Bowl, and Michigan slappy media thinks they have a shot. Their logic is sound...but it's wrong. Mark Dantonio is making no changes to his staff for a meaningless bowl game. Uhhh...why?! We give you our betting line picks for the Army-Navy game and four more games around the NFL this weekend. 4th and Medium topics include: 1) 49ers, Ravens, Saints: is there one that TRULY stands above the others? 2) Should Ohio State really be concerned about where they ended up in the final CFB Playoff rankings? 3) Have John Elway and the Denver Broncos finally tripped over their franchise QB? 4) Who is the NFL Coach of the Year? Detroit Sports are Channing Tatum if he were a coal miner? Yes! When you have a great city with all four major sports, and two big college programs, and all you have to lean on is...college hoops, you're not on your level. Ohio State is Jim Harbaugh's daddy. After his post game press conference on Saturday, it is clear that Jim is a broken man that has no idea where to begin on how to compete with the Buckeyes. For those that want to defend him because "Bo had a similar history in the beginning", we're going to explain why you're WRONG. Michigan hoops is off to a hot start! (Even after the loss to Louisville, which was playing out as we recorded this episode). They made history in the rankings, but...they really shouldn't have. We'll explain. Is Mike Babcock going to get another job? Things are not looking good for the old Red Wings' coach. If you're one of the turds that is sharing this petition to keep Michael Vick from being a Pro Bowl Legend Captain, you're under-informed, and your "woke" attitude is actually a little racist this time. Knock it off! We play a rousing game of FOURTH & MEDIUM, and deliver our picks for all 5 conference championship games in the Power Five! The Detroit Lions are saving the planet with their losing ways, which makes them the most important football team in all of the world. With all of the political unrest, we need this team now more than ever. DISCLAIMER: The above is a satirical statement! The Lions fan's carousel of emotional strife has reached the wedge of the game show wheel that reads "FIRE EVERYONE!!" and it is hilarious. What is the problem with Matt Patricia's defense? We'll give you a hint...It's not the talent on the roster. What do you get when hundreds of rich, Ivy League kids get together for a football game? A fake protest about climate change! We want to save the planet too, but what happened at Harvard on Saturday was the saddest display of phony virtue signaling to ever take place at a "major" sporting event. Deontay Wilder vs Mike Tyson...Sure. We'll jump in on this hypothetical. We also give you our picks for this weekend's NFL and NCAA football action and a rousing rendition of "4th and Medium". The Michigan State Spartans suffered their worst loss under Mark Dantonio on Saturday. What does a program do when it's legendary coach has lost touch? And what's next for that coach when his team appears to have quit on him for the first time? The younger brother of Spartans guard, Cassius Winston took his own life over the weekend in a terrible tragedy. Speaking once again to the stigma and lack of treatment avenues that we put on depression and mental illness. How will this awful situation effect the Spartans' basketball season? We have a pretty good idea. Fourth and Medium Topics Include: 1) Which bottom feeder NFL team will get the number one pick in April's draft at this point in the season? 2) Which Big Ten team has really been more impressive, Minnesota or Ohio State? 3) Which top NFC team can you trust the most to reach the Super Bowl right now? 4) Will Ohio State Star, Chase Young play another college football game? The NCAA is crisis mode right now with the arguably, the top player in both basketball and football being declared ineligible on the same day! Chase Young and James Wiseman were said to have committed NCAA rules violations. This may be true. But it only points out the ridiculousness of said rules and says nothing about the character of the young men. When you factor in the rule change that allows student athletes to profit off of their own likeness...the days may be numbered for the NCAA. Will this organization be able to save itself? We're not so sure. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The Autumn Wind is a Raider. John Gruden gives the Lions a gift by calling a late game timeout. Matt Patricia and the Lions' coaching staff send it back to JC Penny. Matthew Stafford is having the type of season that only one organization could piss away. There is one particular player that everybody wants to like on the Lions' defense. It may be time to say goodbye to that player because he's just not very good. Who? Well, he's consistently be among the lowest rated defenders on the Lions according to Pro Football Focus. We give you this week's early-line picks in the world of College and Pro Football. Brought to you by MY Bookie! The Pistons are less than 10 games in and everybody is hurt, but there is one player on the floor that is really holding them afloat. This man deserves a golf clap. The World Series is over and the Washington Nationals had an incredible run. But was there another 2019 championship team that was more impressive? Learn more about your ad choices. How often do you discuss you and your lady discuss your bowel movements? Because it's probably not often enough. And what does Jim Harbaugh's "jail sexing" of Notre Dame mean for the future of Michigan Football? Is the road team going to win every game of the World Series? Trump got booed and boobs got banned. You don't even have to like baseball to have been entertained by game 5 of this series. The Lions got a "big" win against the Giants as the trade deadline closes in. Would you trade the career of Matthew Stafford for the career of Joe Flacco if it meant everything from Flacco's career transferred over to the Lions? No 4th and Medium today, sorry. But we give you our picks for this week's football action; brought to you by MyBookie! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The Detroit Lions are a movie character, but which one. We Give you our choices. Dan, Geoff, and Mike are here without Dave this week and we open the show with the tail of a football team that experiences the same season over, and over, and over, and over again. Dan makes you eat crow, because once again, he was right about this team. The Lions are dead last in the NFL in one of the MOST IMPORTANT statistical categories in today's NFL. Jalen Ramsey is Millennial hero! He represents everything that the generation is trying to change in the work place. We explain. Did the Michigan players mount an (almost) comeback in Happy Valley to spite their head coach? And one play in Saturdays game was a total microcosm of Jim Harbaugh's career at Michigan. We give you this week's picks. 4th and Medium Topics Include: 1) Teddy Bridgewater...Which NFL team will he be starting for in 2020? 2) Oklahoma, Penn St., Florida, Notre Dame - Which of the 1st 4 out, will get into the CFP? 3) Mo Sanu or Emmanuel Sanders? Which guy finishes the season stronger with their new team? 4) If Jim Harbaugh goes back to the NFL in 2020 (PLEASE GOD!), which team is he coaching? The NBA get's under way. What makes this year more exciting than others? And who is your early season pick to take home the Larry O? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Tough Love for the Lions and their fans...It's what they need, now that the dust has settled on the debacle that took place in Green Bay on Monday Night. Dan, Dave, Geoff, and Mike are all here to set the table for you. If you're looking for baseball playoff talk, tune in to Tigers SRD because you won't get it from us tonight. There are two schools of thought on how and why the Lions lost to the Packers, and both ways of thinking are causing a rift between fans. Each side telling the other that their opinion is "LAZY". Which side has the advantage if any? Or are both sides talking out of their ass? We debate using these very arguments, and we'll allow you to be the judge. The Spartans are awful at all things offense. When is enough enough for Mark Dantonio and when, if ever, will the MSU lose faith in him? We give you our early line picks for the upcoming weekend in football. 4th and Medium Topics Include: 1) Russel Wilson or Christian McCaffery for NFL MVP to this point in the season? 2) Joe Burrow or Jalen Hurts...Which is more likely to be an NFL bust? 3) Which non-QB has the better shot to win the Heisman...Chase Young or Johnathan Taylor? 4) Murray or Minshew...which guy has the better shot at his conferences Rookie of the Year Award? And Why? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Who is the one person your significant other has given you permission to have sex with if ever given the opportunity? Dan has maybe the most obscure one you'll ever hear... Did we learn more about the Michigan State Spartans or the Ohio State Buckeyes after Saturdays 'route' at the Horseshoe? How excited should you be after Michigan's 10-3 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes at home? The Detroit Lions will be making a statement next Monday Night at Lambeau Field. The question will be, is it for better or worse? We give you our early line picks for this weekend's football action. Fourth and Medium Topics Include: Â Â 1) Are the Dallas Cowboys really frauds? Â Â 2) Are the 5-0 Wake Forest Demon Deacons for real? Â Â 3) Three NFC North teams will finish .500 or better...which one will not? Â Â 4) Did the Lions and Chiefs finally provide a blueprint for stopping the Chiefs? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The Detroit Lions lost a heart breaker to the Chiefs on Sunday. But is this one different than their abysmal history? We'll give you some reasons to believe that it is. With the bye coming up, and the Packers around the corner, it is s**t or get off the pot time. The Spartans have an offense while the Defense takes a step back against the Hoosiers, and what to expect against Ohio State on Saturday. Will it be as bad as we all think? 4th and Medium Topics Include:   1) Boise State vs SMU. Which Mid-Major has the better chance to make a splash?   2) Which B1G East team has the best shot to challenge Ohio State?   3) Gardner Minshew has looked...Okay? It can't happen to Nick Foles again, can it?   4) Jameis Winston is quietly having a very good year. Is this the year he finally passes Mariota? The Lions are undefeated, but they are selling you fools gold....again. Here's why... "Fourth and Medium" Topics Include: Â 1) 3-0 starts by non-playoff teams from last year in the NFL: Who's most impressive? 2) Do the Browns bounce back and sniff a wild card spot in the awful AFC? 3) Notre Dame...Still a fraud after a close one in Athens? 4) Will Jacoby Brissett play in this year's Pro-Bowl? Dan, Dave, Geoff, and Mike are all back! We begin the episode by discussing the full moon that is Geoff's luck with the ladies as of late. Why is everything coming up roses? Nobody knows, but it's almost eerie. The Michigan State offense is officially in panic mode...still. Was Arizona State the worst performance we've seen under Mark Dantonio? What is the current state of Michigan football going into B1G play against Wisconsin? Is it time to panic? Switch QBs? Just fix a few small issues? Were the Lions "Out-Lioned" by the Chargers on Sunday. We give you the issues and the bright spots through two weeks. Fourth and Medium Is Back!!   Is there a loss on Clemson's schedule?   Has Ben Roethlisberger played his last meaningful NFL game?   Is there a WIN on the Dolphins schedule (If so...where?)   Will Mark Dantonio ever compete for another B1G title? Happy 300! Dan and Dave are here along with special guest, Roger Castillo. We give you some of our favorite moments from the first 299 episodes and welcome in 2 of our favorite guests to the Bat Phone... Darren McCarty accuses us of "keeping time like his wife" and discusses his new Marijuana venture. D-Mac gives Dan a hard time when he tries to suggest the most lame names for pot strains you've ever heard! We also dig into the Lions' upcoming season and the Antonio Brown fiasco in Oakland. Tony Paul from the Detroit News joins us after what seems like 100 episodes? Tony has a new Spartans based podcast with his friend and colleague, Matt Charboneau called "The Green Room". Dan, Dave, and Geoff are here as we have a bit of a "relaxed" show in preparation for episode 300. Andrew Luck retired and it really is a major bummer for the game of football. And Geoff defends the Colts' fans who BOOED him as he walked off the field against Cincinnati! Who does he blame for all of that disgusting booing? Michigan and Michigan State are geared up to play some semi-real football! What should we expect to see from both teams? Well, probably not much. We give you our very first rendition of THE PICKS! A collage football special. An upcoming book about the LA Lakers disses the '04 Pistons pretty hard. And what blackmail material does Carmelo Anthony have on the rest of the NBA? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Dan, Dave, and Geoff are here to discuss Justin Verlander's showdown with Anthony Fenech and the Detroit Free Press. Who is in the wrong here? Verlander? The Freep? Fenech? The Astros? And why Verlander's antics are very similar to Donald Trump. Nick Castellanos is raking for the Cubs. Is it because he is smoking copious amounts of Marijuana? Questions to be asked. Snacks has signed his extension and is back in training camp for your Detroit Lions. People don't read! Antonio Brown may not be the joke you think he is, and did Mike Mayock really call him out? Or is he just tired of answering questions about one of the best Wide Receivers in the game? Dan has learned something new about one of his early 20's crushes. Mateen Cleeves was acquitted of all charges! What does this mean? Does it prove that even cut and dry surveillance footage does not tell the whole story?   Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Dan, Dave, and Geoff are back at it. We open the show with Geoff's sex life and how Dan and Dave, with the help of Jake Rogers, make him lose his MOJO. The Woodward Dream Cruise is the worst entertainment event in modern history. Think about 6 million little kids riding their big wheels down Woodward Ave during rush hour. There is a reason to watch Tiger baseball even now. Jake Rogers. Need I say more? Al Avila got a bit of vindication from the Braves over the weekend. Dave was hating on Shea Patterson on Twitter, but Dan and Geoff may have cooled his jets on this one a bit. See, we can all get along in 2019! Ohio State and "THE". What the rest of the B1G should do to mock the dumbest idea Ohio State has ever come up with... And finally, we discuss paying college athletes and try to sound smart when discussing how to do it. You be the judge. We're probably all way off base, but it's fun. Are we geniuses or idiots. It can't be both! Â Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Dan and Geoff are here as a duo. We do stand with El Paso and Dayton, but we can't discuss it because we live among too many idiots. Anthony Fenech must have listened to the show last week, because he took our discussion about Al Avila and put it into a nice, concise professional article. So thank you for that, Anthony. Are some stereotypes just okay? Fake football was going on as we recorded this one, and the overreaction Friday should provide some entertainment today. Also, the entire Lions' roster appears to be dead already. TMZ asked the most meaningless and pointless question at a meaningless time to a person who was once meaningful, but is now meaningless...you do the math. Episode one of Hard Knocks was very uneventful, other that the hilarity that Antonio Brown provided all of us. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Dan, Dave, and Geoff are back for the type of show that takes us back in time to when this show was good. We beg you to give us another chance as we have not been the type of show that we vowed to be when we began over 5 years ago. Have a laugh with us again! We open the show with the news of today, the postmortem depression of an underwhelming trade deadline for your Detroit Tigers. You have many reasons to accuse Al Avila of being a bad GM, but this trade deadline is really not one of them. It's all of the events (or lack-there-of) leading up to this deadline that should infuriate you. We'll explain... NFL Training camp is in full swing and Dan struggles to give a s**t. Theo Riddick is gone and it's okay. It's also time for the annual reasons why Matthew Stafford "isn't great". Kirk Cousins or Matthew Stafford?...Take your pick. We all messed up by not becoming an NFL punter as Sam Martin bags a hottie. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Dan and Dave are a duo this evening as we continue to put YOU, the people first! Geoff is off doing blow and banging blondes as usual. Russell Westbrook went to the Rockets in exchange for Chris Paul. Pistons fans should be over the moon about this if they know what is good for them. Also, Chris Paul is better than Russell Westbrook...What?!...Yea...The numbers don't lie, bruh! The Sixers extend Ben Simmons to a max deal. It makes sense even though it doesn't seem like it should. Also, even Ben Simmons beats Russell Westbrook in one particular important basketball metric. We get the first, only, and final NBA Summer League update from David Faes. Also, Zion is fat? With the NFL offseason reaching training camp territory, obviously, domestic violence and illegal activities would be the focus. We play the inaugural rendition of a new game we have dubbed: "CTE or Convict Me". Keenan Allen is NOT Playing Madden '20. At first, we thought he was a cry baby, but then it's clear that he has a beef. Also, Matthew Stafford finally gets crushed by EA Sports as is deserved! Learn more about your ad choices. Dan, Dave, and Geoff are all here! Dan opens the show by discussing his first encounter with a unicorn of a Beta Male. Who knew guys like this actually existed? We thought they were like Big Foot or El Chupucabra. Al Avila gets a multi-year extension as the Tigers' GM. So many people are barking mad about this. Everybody calm down. We are here to explain why this isn't great, but it's also not a reason to get in a frenzy when you have a historically bad ball club on the field. We watched more porn on the show tonight because Dan makes another Freudian slip... The US Women's National Team captured it's second consecutive World Cup...and we're mad at them for expressing their right to free speach? Where have we seen this before? Also, Dan says some unsavory things about the American Flag to help you understand that it's really not as important as some folks want to make it out to be. Would you use the Flag to put your mother out if she were on fire? Think about it. Ben Askrin makes UFC history in the worst way possible. We have discovered the winner of the bottle cap challenge...Nobody is "beating" this one if you know what I mean. Finally, the Pistons are not getting Russell Westbrook. It's for the best. The top end of mediocre...is still mediocre. And the Clippers saved the NBA's watchability at the 11th hour by finding a way to land Kawhi Leonard. Learn more about your ad choices. Dan and Geoff get together to discuss why July first is the best sports date ever. The best part of the NBA season is here, and it's probably the greatest offseason we've ever seen. The limey Brits want to reinvigorate the Revolutionary War. Vegas trolls college football nation...again.
Dave and Geoff are here as Dan is at his annual camp trip being a better person. We go over a week full of drafts and new players in Detroit.
Dan, Dave, an Geoff are here to discuss the aftermath of the NBA Finals, NBA free agency, NBA head coaches that have pube-like chest hair, and Kellen Winslow's raw, chafed penis. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
