And while the Bible clearly teaches that angels exist and are crucial to God's work in the world, some question as to whether we each have a personal angel watching over us. Can We Become Sinless In This Life?

Can we become sinless in our lifetimes? Some devoted followers of Jesus believe that Christians can reach a point in their spiritual maturity where they no longer sin. Imagine it! No longer struggling with negative internal thoughts like anger or hate. No longer wrestling with the inner tensions that tempt us to walk a path other than the one God has laid out for His followers. Sinless perfection, or Christian perfection as believers in this position prefer to call it, sounds amazing! But is it really possible? No matter how wonderful it sounds, is it even attainable? Many respected heroes of our Faith continued to struggle with sin throughout their lives and were looking forward to the day when Jesus would rescue them from "this body of death." Think the Apostle Paul in Romans 7. While sinless perfection sounds fantastic, this position rests on a very anemic definition of what sin and sinlessness actually are. In this episode of The Rugged Truth Podcast, we will explore this idea and answer this question in a way that will leave us informed and encouraged. If God Already Knows the Future, Why Pray?

If God already knows what is going to happen in the future, what difference could our prayers possibly make? Believe it or not, I have been asked this question more times than I can count by thoughtful Christians. They are trying to understand how an eternal, unchanging God who already knows the end of the story could or even would be persuaded to do something different if His mind is already made up. Was it already God's plan to change His mind in the first place? Is prayer simply His way of building a sense of dependence in us so we will quickly turn to Him for comfort and peace when the difficult events of life happen? Maybe prayer doesn't really change God's mind or actions at all. Maybe prayer is more of an exercise to condition us spiritually to become closer to Him. However, the common idea that prayer changes us and not God's actions by aligning our hearts and minds with God's doesn't really hold up to the scrutiny of Scripture. Key passages, especially James 4:2, give us the clear impression that our prayers cause things to happen that would not happen if we did not pray.
