Send us a textIn this episode, depth and somatic psychotherapist, Molly Mitchell-Hardt Field dives into the archetypal pattern of psychological transformation as depicted in the art and science of Alchemy. She argues that a symbol understanding of alchemy serves as a foundational understanding of psychology."Alchemy can serve as a framework to hold the archetypal patterns of transformation, not only intrapsychically, but also interpsychically between two people, a group of people or even on a global scale. When we are able to see ourselves in an archetypal pattern, it takes us out of the solopsistic view of the individual and into a sense of connection to the all, the everything. We get out of the illusion that we are alone in our experiences, in our own heads, in our own lives, even in our own time on the planet. It connects us to this universal substrate of reality. On some level, I believe that to understand psychology one must understand alchemy."Molly's Offerings:To inquire about 1:1 work or about Molly's Sacred Motherhood Online Support Group, schedule a free consultation or email mollymitchellhardt@gmail.comReferences:Support your Local BookstoreThe Anatomy of the Psyche by Edward EdingerFollow us @mollymitchellhardt and @thewholeparadox This podcast was produced in association with Channel the Sun by Kevin Joseph Grossmann. Western culture has in many ways lost conscious relationship with the forces of initiation, so many of us are unconsciously dragged along into initiatory trial after initiatory trial without context, without the container of the community or the elders to hold us and imbue our experiences with meaning and sacred purpose. Without the anchoring of communal ritual we become untethered from the cosmos and the wheel of time that connects us to the eternal. In this episode, Molly Mitchell-Hardt interviews friend, educator, speaker, facilitator, and Rites of Passage guide, Nicky Wilks.  They discuss:The impact of lack of ritualized rites of passageThe fatherhood initiationThe necessity of male rites of passage due to the lack of physiological markers and the reliance on cultural markers that we are lacking in modern lifeThe need for mentors, elders, community in becoming a fatherNicky's work with rites of passage and the father-child bondThe importance of mythology and story to give us context in our livesThe male identity in the modern contextFire-keeping as a portal between the physical and metaphysicalAnd much moreFind Nicky Wilks:Follow Nick @nickywilks.Find out more about Nicky and his offerings on his website.Find out more about Journeymen on their website and on instagram @journeymen.Follow us @mollymitchellhardtThis podcast was produced in association with Channel the Sun by Kevin Joseph Grossmann.  Musical stylings by Kevin Joseph Grossmann.References:Michael MeadeDr. Arne RubenstienSuper Great Kids' Stories

The seat of therapist or healing professional is a very privileged role and as such, I believe we have a duty and responsibility to be doing our own inner work. In a position of power and with the shadow unchecked it is all too easy to get stuck in a trap of unconscious manipulation, vying for power and control, or using the work to focus on others in order to neglect our own suffering among other things. When we acknowledge the shadow we invite in another layer of truth and authenticity to the work, which in turn creates a safer container for the client to show up with all their parts, especially the ones we would rather not name. In this episode, Molly Mitchell-Hardt interviews friend, author, speaker and coach, Dr. Erin Yu-Juin McMorrow.  They discuss:The impact of putting ideas in print and being seen by friends and familyThe necessity of allowing for a gestational period for ideas before sharingThe vulnerability and responsibility of being a public-facing figureThe shadow of content creationThe shadow of the "healing space"Coming back to the body as "truth teller"The role of overriding The necessity of discernment Signs working with an aligned healer vs. healer with ulterior motivesFind Dr. Erin Yu-Juin McMorrow:Follow Erin @dr.erinmcmorrow.Find out more about her work on her website.Follow us @mollymitchellhardtThis podcast was produced in association with Channel the Sun by Kevin Joseph Grossmann.  Musical stylings by Kevin Joseph Grossmann.References:Carl G.
