Allen Anderson, Candidate District #151 for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, joins the program with thoughts on issues facing his district, his campaign approach (including with those who don't agree with his positions), and his "Love in Action" work providing toilets in South Africa. Gutfeld! co-host Kat Timpf also checks in regarding her new book I Used to Like You Until...(How Binary Thinking Divides Us). The book is both political and an open & honest look at Timpf's own life, with value placed on a willingness to listen and be vulnerable instead of writing people off if there's a difference of opinion (and the dangers of doing so). We close out our time with conversation about the book's final chapter, "In Case You Still Like Me, Let's Talk Religion." ***Originally aired May 15, 2023*** There has been a lot of concern from the public lately about St. Anthony Regional Hospital's pursuit of a critical access hospital designation. Here's an interview we did with CEO Allen Anderson and CFO Eric Salmonson in May when the hospital initially made the announcement.
This year I've been working to find whisky legacies in some very unfamiliar regions for the spirit. When Carpathian Whisky reached out to me about their single malt, I thought - well, this is definitely a chance to step into the unknown. Then, my guest Allan Anderson, distiller at Carpathian suddenly was tying his career into a bunch of different distilleries across Ireland and Scotland. Some fun discoveries in this episode. Cheers! Dogs are the best spiritual gurus. In this episode we discuss some of the grossest, wisest, and scariest lessons our pets have taught us. "Dogs exhibit spiritual qualities in abundance. Dogs can be wise, compassionate, loyal, courageous, self-sacrificing, and altruistic. Most of all, they can give the purest, most unconditional love." - Allen Anderson and Linda C. Hey there, Punky Peeps, welcome to another episode of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. Today I will be reviewing the episode Season 1 Episode 5 Part 1 Walk Pool which aired on October 14,1984.This is another mini episode only 12 minutes long. In this episode we see Henry taking on the herculean task of walking Punky and her friends to school. After he ridicules Betty calling her a soft touch and saying how the children just need order and discipline to keep them in line. He'll need more than that to keep this bunch from running amok. Will Henry be able to transform this group of kids into well trained soldiers or will he be overpowered? In this episode we are introduced to three new characters Margaux Kramer, Allen Anderson, and Scotty Lotabucci. Only two of these cast members stick around for the show. One listener tells us about his bus riding days as a child here in America and internationally. I discuss my days of playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the playground, (I always wanted to be Michelangelo and I even made my own nunchucks), the big bus ride debate of which truck was better Chevy or Ford in the early 90's, brainstorming the next children's book for the Young Author Award at School, my discovery of delicious Honey Roasted Sunflower Kernals and my Walkman and Discman days on the bus( headwear problems and those portable CD Players only carry three days of battery juice max), having the coolest bus driver,(getting popsicles on the last day of school, not mentioned in podcast). I give this episode 3 out of 5 Brandon Tail Wags for the hilarious hijinks the kids get into and because it's a mini episode. The Episode Question of the Week for the next podcast episode Season 1 Episode 5 Part 2 Gone Fishin' is Did you like to go fishing as a child and if so do you remember the first fish you ever caught? Spiritual Insights w/Charlotte Spicer—Spirituality & Metaphysics Talk Radio
Every once in a great while, a book comes along that reaffirms the belief that Spirit speaks to us through our animal companions and that our pets specifically choose us…to help heal our brokenness and reflect the inner spark of God that is in each of us. This is one of them. Allen Anderson's highly acclaimed memoir, A Dog Named Leaf: The Hero from Heaven Who Saved My Life, tells his dramatic journey of adopting Leaf, a traumatized year-old cocker spaniel. The mutual healing of this man and this dog offers valuable insights and hope to anyone who has faced the prospect of losing everything. Learn how a scared little dog became a big hero to Allen as he faced life-threatening brain surgery. Leaf arrived just in time to reassure Allen through his extended near-death experience, which consisted of a life review, seeing a mystical light, assurance that he wasn't finished living, prophetic dreams and visions. While trying to heal this beloved dog back to emotional wholeness, a series of miraculous revelations (facilitated by Leaf) soon proved to Allen that Leaf was actually helping him in his own journey of Faith, Surrender and Unconditional Love. Tune in to learn about the inspirational chain of events that led to the profound bond between a frightened, abandoned dog and tough, former City Police Officer and how they helped each other heal. Allen and his wife Linda founded the Angel Animals Network in 1996. Their 15 books about the spiritual qualities of animals have been featured on Oprah.com, the Today Show, ABC's Nightly News, among many others. The American Society of Journalist and Authors (ASJA) selected A Dog Named Leaf as a winner of the prestigious 2013 ASJA Awards. Pets have a very special purpose and their mission is accomplished regardless of whether it becomes "known/accepted" or not; I believe they exist to help elevate humans to a greater awareness of the multidimensional embodiment of consciousness. Allen and Leaf are yet another demonstration of the greater life/heart connections pets can awaken in us when we choose to allow them to be co-creators, teachers, students, and partners rather than domestic servants.
