Ethereum Foundation Staff Are Leaving. What Does It Mean for ETH? - Uneasy Money

Top Ethereum Foundation staff are leaving. Why? Also, Trade.xyz launched a synthetic pre-IPO SpaceX perp on Hyperliquid that further shows RWAs moving onchain. ======================================================== Thank you to our sponsor! Multichain Advisors: Get help navigating TGEs, go‑to‑market, BD and partnerships, capital markets advisory, PR, media placements, KOL activations and more at multichainadv.com. Coinbase One: Get 20% off the first year of your Coinbase One annual plan at coinbase.com/unchained. ======================================================== A synthetic SpaceX perpetual futures contract launched on Hyperliquid ahead of any IPO, jumping 44% before settling back down. Kain and Tay unpack what it means when a dress rehearsal for one of the biggest potential IPOs in years generates $33 million in trading volume. Then: the Ethereum Foundation exodus. Trent Van Epps, Josh Stark, Barnabé Monnot, Tim Beiko, and Carl Beek are out. Kain's theory: longtime Ethereum “missionaries” were given hope for change under Tomasz Stanczak, only to see that momentum fade. Finally, three DeFi exploits in four days, including a Thorchain attack that Taylor reconstructed in real time using AI tools during incident response — ending with a fully working attack demo she never asked for. Anthropic and OpenAI are moving to void secondary market trades — and Kain, Tay, and Luca think that's only going to work if they're serious about it, which means a lawsuit is probably coming. This week on Uneasy Money they trace the full anatomy of the pre-IPO SPV fraud wave, explain why synthetic perpetual markets will eventually price every in-demand private company continuously whether founders want it or not, and dig into the latest AI hacks. Tay breaks down how attackers are now using local on-device Gemini APIs to construct malware on the fly, and Kain shares the story of an agent that caught a slow-drain attack in 90 seconds that humans missed for 12 hours. Luca explains why Circle's Arc token is a brilliant move for Circle equity holders even if it changes nothing for ETH or Solana. Plus: the Aave/Kelp court update and why the Gerstein lawyers' argument that every victim needs to show up in court is fundamentally incompatible with how onchain recovery works. An energy expert says having Singapore's fuel won't do a great deal for supply or price. A signed agreement between the two countries will see Singapore provide us with refined fuel in return for New Zealand food exports during economic shocks. During Christopher Luxon's visit this week, the two countries also pledged to not impose export restrictions on each other. David Keat told Mike Hosking this won't do anything for price because the cost on the day we activate it will likely be high. He says in terms of availability, the refineries will deliver what they're contracted to supply under any circumstances, and if they can't, the Government can't change that. Massey University Centre for Defence and Security Studies' John Battersby says there are many unknowns. On this week's Uneasy Money, Luca Netz argues that was the worst option on the table. Is Nepal's Security System Failing? Former APF General Speaks. Nepal is facing complex national security challenges shaped by political interference, foreign pressure, border vulnerabilities, and internal system weaknesses. In this in-depth podcast, Rabi Raj Thapa – Former AIG, APF Nepal, and Security Expert shares his firsthand experience and critical analysis of Nepal's security framework. Rabi Raj Thapa explains the history and role of the Armed Police Force (APF), why it was established, and how Nepal's policing and security institutions have evolved over time. He discusses what went wrong during the Gen Z protest, highlighting gaps in police preparedness, leadership failures, and the impact of political pressure on law enforcement. The conversation also explores Nepal's current national security concerns, including border security challenges, terrorism risks, fear psychosis among the public, and weaknesses within the system police structure. Rabi Raj Thapa provides insight into how police are mobilized, the constitutional ambiguity around authority, and how political influence affects decision-making on the ground. A major focus of the podcast is why foreign powers have an interest in Nepal, Nepal's sensitive geopolitical position between India and China, and foreign pressure on Nepali leaders. With decades of experience in national security, Rabi Raj Thapa offers a clear, grounded perspective on Nepal's internal security threats and what must change to safeguard sovereignty and stability. This episode is essential for anyone interested in Nepal's national security, geopolitics, border security, policing systems, and defense strategy. In this special live episode of the Shift AI Podcast recorded at Seattle AI Week, Dr. Andre Alfred, who leads threat operations and security for Google Cloud's Fortune 500 customers, joins host Boaz Ashkenazy for an eye-opening conversation about the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. With his remarkable journey from high school help desk operator to earning his PhD and leading security operations at Microsoft, Oracle, and Google, Andre brings a unique perspective on protecting critical infrastructure in an era where adversaries have access to the same powerful AI tools as defenders. From data poisoning threats that could compromise healthcare diagnostics to the challenges of securing physical infrastructure like water systems and power grids, Andre shares what keeps him up at night and why two-factor authentication isn't optional anymore. The conversation explores how AI is transforming both offensive and defensive capabilities in cybersecurity, why the next generation of jobs will be defined by leaders rather than technology, and Andre's commitment to visibility as an African American leader in tech. Cybersecurity is an essential aspect of our increasingly digital world, focusing on the protection of information systems and networks from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats. With the rapid advancement of technology, the need for robust cybersecurity measures has become paramount. It involves a combination of proactive measures like implementing firewalls, encryption techniques, and access controls, as well as reactive measures such as incident response and threat intelligence analysis. Cybersecurity professionals work diligently to identify vulnerabilities, develop safeguards, and stay one step ahead of malicious actors, helping to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of digital assets. As our reliance on technology grows, cybersecurity plays a crucial role in preserving the trust and security of individuals, organizations, and society as a whole.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-x-zone-radio-tv-show--1078348/support.Please note that all XZBN radio and/or television shows are Copyright © REL-MAR McConnell Meda Company, Niagara, Ontario, Canada – www.rel-mar.com.
