Tal día como hoy, pero el 25 de noviembre de 1980, se celebró el partido de homenaje a José Luis Capón, entre el Atlético de Madrid y la Selección de la URSS en el Vicente Calderón. El lateral izquierdo jugó con la rojiblanca 269 partidos oficiales desde la temporada 1970-71 y  hasta su retirada en la 1979-80. 34 partidos de Copa, 14 de Recopa de Europa, 14 de Copa de Europa, 6 de Copa de la UEFA, y 2 de Copa Intercontinental. Ganó 2 Ligas con el Atleti (1973 y 1977), 1 Copa del Rey en 1976 y la Intercontinental en 1975. Capón nos dejó el 29 de marzo de 2020 por culpa del COVID. En sus propias palabras rememoraba con añoranza que "lo mejor fue ganar la Liga del 77 en el Bernabéu y la Intercontinental. Jugué el famoso partido de semifinales en Glasgow en el 74. No lo olvidaré, porque allí nos maltrataron y aquí les arrollamos, pero futbolísticamente”. En la competición nacional Liguera, en partido disputado en Getafe el pasado domingo a las 18:30, el Atleti logró 3 puntos importantísimos, con victoria por 0-1, con gol en propia puerta. Fue un partido de esos que hay que masticar barro y cemento, pero que son de los que deciden campeonatos. Es la  5ª victoria consecutiva en Liga, siendo, además, fuera de casa. Con este resultado el Atleti sigue 4º, a 4 puntos del líder (el Mal), 3 del segundo (Barça)  y 1 del tercero (Villarreal) y eso que se había tirado la liga en agosto… El próximo compromiso liguero será el sábado 29/11 a las 21:00 frente al Oviedo en su retorno a la máxima división. Esperemos que se sigan sumando puntos de 3 en 3 para mantenernos en la pomada. Por otro lado, en Champions, el Atleti recibirá al Inter de Milán, mañana miércoles a las 21 horas en el Metropolitano. Partido importantísimo para las aspiraciones del equipo para estar entre los 8 primeros de la liguilla y así evitar la ronda previa. Hablaremos de dicho partido la próxima semana. Mientras tanto…. Victoria clave para alivio del Atlético de Madrid. Partido muy complicado en el Coliseum, contando además con las bajas de Oblak y Giuliano y la lesión al inicio de Llorente. Durante la mayor parte del encuentro se jugó a lo que quiso el Getafe, pero los cambios entraron bien y, tras un gran centro de Baena, Raspadori forzó el gol en propia del Getafe. José Paredes tiene hoy 82 años, vive en Parla desde 1972, aunque de joven llegó desde Extremadura a Getafe en los 60 buscando oportunidades. 50 años después de la muerte del dictador Francisco Franco, recuerda ese día perfectamente. 

El Papa León XIV recibe a la cúpula de la Iglesia española una semana después de la denuncia al obispo de Cádiz y Ceuta por abusos sexuales a un menor en los años 90, cuando dirigía el seminario de Getafe. El presidente de la Conferencia Episcopal, Luis Argüello, reconoce "el dolor" y concede verosimilitud a la denuncia pero defiende la presunción de inocencia. La otra imagen del día estará en el Congreso de los Diputados, donde declara Carlos Mazón ante la Comisión de investigación de la dana. Se produce justo una semana después de que declarase ante Les Corts, donde leyó un texto que llevaba escrito y no respondió a las preguntas de la oposición. Además, el Ministerio de Hacienda presenta hoy la senda de déficit, el paso clave para que se puedan aprobar los presupuestos generales del Estado. 

Alejado de los focos informativos por los problemas deportivos del primer equipo, el filial del Valencia está realizando un inicio de temporada paupérrimo. Es penúltimo en el Grupo 3 de Segunda Federación con tan solo ocho puntos, por detrás de clubes como Andratx, Barbastro o Porreres. Solo ha ganado un partido en las once primeras jornadas. La plantilla que dirige Angulo tiene calidad y presupuesto para bastante más. En Paterna se habla de paciencia para la adaptación y un exceso de juventud. La plantilla tiene una media de edad de 20'6 años. Por primera vez en España, El Vaticano investiga a un alto cargo de la jerarquía eclesiástica por una denuncia de agresión sexual. Se trata del actual obispo de Cádiz, Rafael Zornoza, y el denunciante es un antiguo seminarista cuando Zornoza estaba al frente del instituto para curas de la Iglesia en Getafe, en Madrid, durante los años 90. Esta denuncia ha aflorado detalles sobre el perfil de un sacerdote ultraconservador, alineado con la ultraderecha en temas como la inmigración o la libertad sexual, que después de aquellos años de Getafe, fue nombrado obispo en Cádiz y Ceuta. Un ejemplo de cómo funcionan las cosas en las jerarquías de la Iglesia. Tal día como hoy, pero el 11 de Noviembre de 1956, el Atleti venció al RCD Español por 8-1 en el Estadio Metropolitano, en partido de la 10ª jornada del campeonato nacional de Liga. Los goles locales fueron 3 de Peiró, 2 de Rafa, 2 de Agustín, y uno de Collar.  En Champions League el pasado martes, el Atleti venció por 3-1 al Royale Union Saint-Gilloise en partido de liga previa. Con dicha victoria el Atleti se coloca 17º con 6 puntos y un gol a favor en la diferencia. Fue un partido más complicado de lo que parecía sobre el papel y lo que presume el resultado. El equipo continua con aspiraciones a entrar entre los 8 primeros de la tabla y clasificarse para octavos de final. El próximo rival en esta competición será el Inter de Milán, en el Metropolitano, el próximo día 26/11 a las 21 horas. En la competición nacional Liguera, en partido disputado en el Metropolitano el pasado sábado a las 18:30, el Atleti logró,  frente al Levante por 3-0, la  4ª victoria consecutiva en Liga, que supone 11 partidos seguidos invictos, . Abrió el marcador en el minuto 12 Adrian de la Fuente con un gol en propia puerta, completó el marcador un doblete de Antoine Griezmann, que marcó a los 27 segundos de entrar en el campo en el minuto 61 y, remató la faena con el tercero en el minuto 80. Con este resultado el Atleti se sitúa 4º, a 6 puntos del líder (el Mal), 3 del segundo (Barça)  y 1 del tercero (Villarreal). El siguiente compromiso liguero será el domingo 23/11 en Butarque a las 18:30 horas, viajaremos a Getafe con la intención de obtener los 3 puntos y continuar la racha de victorias seguidas en liga. LaLiga was back with a bang after the international break. In the context of AFE-led league-wide protests, there was more controversy and late drama for Matt Clark (@MattClark_08) and Román De Arquer (@Aeroslavee) to get stuck into.We begin with those protests from the Players' Union, who have been angered by the lack of communication from the league about the Miami match. This led to the captains agreeing to stop playing for 10-15 seconds at the start of this weekend's matches. To exacerbate the problems for themselves, LaLiga appeared to direct their broadcast partners not to show these protests live on television, latterly conjuring up the explanation of a ‘commitment to peace' strapline across screens. A pretty cynical ploy and it was widely denounced.Onto the football, and Barcelona avoided three games without a win in all competitions, but it took a 93rd-minute winner from an unlikely source, as Ronald Araújo spared their blushes. A visibly angered Hansi Flick was sent off and will be absent from the touchline for the Clásico. Real Madrid also had to work hard for their three points, leaving it relatively late to get the better of Getafe. Kylian Mbappé continued his incredible run of scoring and once again it was Arda Güler who provided the assist. The hosts ended with nine men, as Vini Jr's introduction – off the bench – led to two players seeing red. Román would not be drawn too much on a prediction for next week's big encounter, but did acknowledge it wasn't looking great for the Catalans at the moment.Across Madrid, Atleti also recorded a narrow win, just about getting the better of Osasuna, whose away record is a problem that Alessio Lisci must solve quickly. Form on the road is something which Diego Simeone himself also needs to correct. In Part Two, we begin with a partidazo between Villarreal and Betis, as Marcelino overtook his counterpart to become the coach who has led the Yellow Submarine in most matches. They led 2-0 and looked good for all three points, but Antony was the verdiblanco hero once more as his brace (including another late goal) saved the point.Then we turn our attention to the Robin Hood of LaLiga: Sevilla had just beaten the league leaders, but this weekend they lost at home to the side who was propping up the table. Mallorca came from behind with three goals in ten minutes to earn a massive win for Jagoba Arrasate.Elsewhere, it was groundhog day at Balaídos as Celta drew 1-1 for the seventh time in nine matchdays.
