Scripture tells us to come as we are and that God loves us for who we are, regardless of what we look like. So why does our physical health even matter? I am so excited to have Christian Health Coach, Kate Muesing on the show this week to answer that question and to talk about personal health from a Christian perspective. Kate Muesing is passionate about helping people connect their health and their faith so that they can create a lasting healthy lifestyle that honors the Lord. She lives in South Florida with her husband and three children. Listen to Kate's thoughts now! Stories and Thoughts Kate shared: Growing up in a children's pastor's home and loving Jesus. Discovering that Jesus also cared about her personal health after having her third child. Becoming a health coach with a network marketing company, and realizing that there was a gap in the health, fitness, and diet industry: faith. Her clients who had the most success had a deep seated faith in Jesus. Healthy living leads to lives of faithful enduring service and the mental ability to love others well. God asks for ALL of us, our entire body, and Jesus exemplified that on the cross. The majority of non-medical health issues are "heart" issues. The Five Health Habits Kate teaches her clients: Exercise, Nutrition, Sleep, Hydration, and JESUS. Any habit needs to hold up to three things: sustainable, attainable, and wise. My group coaching program will also focus on individualized nutritional planning. This nutritional planning includes a 1:1 session where you will complete a detailed questionnaire. Be ready to dig DEEP! You will provide information on diets/programs you've tried in the past. You'll share with me what has worked for you and what hasn't. You'll also share your food preferences, down to what you do and don't like in your coffee. This information will also include any “triggers” that might put you in a tailspin. From this information, I will create a personalized nutritional plan. Together, we will create goals to accomplish during our time together.We will also dig deeply into your “why”. Sure, you want to lose weight, but being overweight is so much deeper than that. I find that, many times, my clients haven't previously taken the time to understand their “why”. I will lead you through an in-depth exercise to help you discover your “why”. We will discuss why it is important to be healthy and what healthy looks like for you. We will dig deep into Scripture that supports our health and weight loss journey.I'll provide a 30-day devotional series to accompany our individual and group work. The devotions are 15-20 minutes long, accompanied by a journal workbook with basic graphics to explain the program. Throughout your 6 months of group coaching, you will also be assigned an accountability buddy from within your group. These will change monthly. You'll share your goals, progress, setbacks...all of it. This will all be approached from a Biblical perspective.God designed His people to be a community with one another. We are designed to have a strong “cloud of witnesses”, to provide Biblical support to one another.We will use Voxer, a free walkie-talkie app, to keep in contact with one another.
