O tom všem byla řeč v dalším On Air. Metalheads!!!! As 2025 closes so too does or examination of Motörhead's discography. Rest In Power.
Flew all the way to Paris for this one! If anyone knows me in the slightest they'll appreciate how big a deal this is for me. Getting to spend a day with Lucas and chat in great depth into his career (a lot of it not recorded as there was just no time!) and learn about a lot of stuff I never knew about the original Motörhead meant a lot to me.Cant believe I've hit 30 episodes…pretty mad like. Thanks to everyone who keeps supporting me every month, I hope you enjoy listening to this one. It's one I'd never thought I'd get to do when starting this.Cheers x Hosted on Acast. Make the necessary preparations, we're talking Motörhead this week...Hilary and Cody try and hang on as they talk about the pure fuel that is Ace of Spades. Lemmy, Fast Eddie, and Philthy Phil were three dudes who knew exactly what they were after, and they pursued those things with great fervor. Ace of Spades is undiluted rock and roll made by a band who were unrepentantly themselves. Motörhead was a freight train, and you either hopped on board, got out of their way, or got run over. Hell yeah. Thanks for listening! Metalheads!! The year of Motörhead continues with the second of three blasts of this legendary band. Blame Ben.
In this episode we strap on the mutton chops like biker Jesus pumped full of amphetamines and look straight up to the heavens with the voice of a demon for a warts ‘n all take on one of the most influential bands of the last fifty years. If you're not familiar with Motörhead, they are best known for the song, Ace of Spades and I have described them in the past as what it would sound like if Chuck Berry was hit by an out of control freight train driven by drunken pirates. While there have been many members over the years, and some were more important than others, there's only really one bloke who matters in the Motörhead story, Lemmy Kilmister.Lemmy wasn't a satanic metal head. But he was certainly anti-religion with songs like, [Don't Need] Religion, Bad Religion and God Was Never on Your Side. This episode also features cameo guest star appearances from Joseph of Nazareth, Ian Kilmister, Santa Claus, Wales, The Beatles, The Cavern Club, Liverpool, Europe, The Kinks, The Rockin Vicars, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Sam Gopal, Escalator, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Pink Floyd, The Birds, Hawkwind, Silver Machine, Canada, Bastard, Top of the Pops, BBC, United Artists, On Parole, Phil ‘Philthy Animal' Taylor, ‘Fast' Eddie Clarke, NME, Ted Carroll, Chiswick Records, Mike Tyson, Snaggletooth, the War-Pig, Joe Petagno, Napoleon, Bronze Records, Austin Healy, No Sleep ‘till Hammersmith, Stand By Your Man, Plasmatics, Wendy O. Motörhead Rock 'n' Roll
Metalheads!! The year of Motörhead continues!!
Metalheads!! Ben continues his slow slog through the discography of Lemmy's iconic band in this year of Motörhead.
Metalheads!! The year of Motörhead continues with the first of three discography blasts for this legendary band.
Metalheads!! The year of Motörhead continues with their second studio album, Overkill!
The first Motörhead release without Fast Eddie Clarke and the only to include his replacement, ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson could have been a disaster. Instead, it's Another Perfect Day. Lemmy's rasp and bass roar remain in tack as does Filthy Phil's frenetic pounding, and while Fast Eddie's speedy riffing is missed, in it's place are Robertson's newly welcomed guitar melodies that add another dimension to the ferocity of the patented Motörhead sound. The band would soon return to their meat and potatoes approach but the outlier that is APD remains a bright stop in their glorious catalog. RIP Lemmy RIP Fast Eddie RIP Filthy Phil Recommended Listening: EP134: Motörhead “Ace of Spades” https://huntsmanhill.com/2020/08/17/ep134-motorhead-ace-of-spades-soundtrack-to-the-apocalypse-vol-20/ EP219: Motörhead “Overkill” https://huntsmanhill.com/2023/04/22/ep219-motorhead-overkill/ Spotify Playlist Track: “Shine” https://open.spotify.com/track/5yaNFVKP8KGTFgj8td5tGU?si=1662a5c41b9d4e72 Spotify Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/user/1298220429/playlist/4gy1wWwypkoFS2lUztvZ44?si=waSq07DBQlq3x9G1_nK0pg Contact us at: huntsmanhillpodcast@gmail.com Our Music manhuntsman: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7tFBWn0UFkdOEMf67TRD6W?si=vzllkbDwSEmfZFlj02GLRw Academy O.C: https://academyoc.bandcamp.com/album/academy-o-c Omertà 68: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6dfiCa0qTlbPQUrqtIkStS?si=6SCjNtXbSO2xRBDuBKJelQ MidCityThree: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2LW7wWSHd9bi3n3Q5N8i35?si=4UnUthYNR4K9FMv2dqFOVw huntsmanhill.com instagram.com/huntsmanhill https://twitter.com/HuntsmanHill

What if you had this band that went on to fame and fortune in the metal industry? A band that was so cool and unique that it inspired two separate musical genres? Now, what if you were the record label that had this band and decided it wasn't worth releasing the debut record of theirs you paid for? Well, that's what happened to our good friends in Motörhead. How insane is that? Later, once they got popular, this label thought, well, we might as well cash in right? As we all know cash albums always turn out great. This week we present another installment of our ongoing series called “Grave Mistakes: They Shoulda Been Huge!!!”. This band is a true treasure from the Great White North that plays mean power chords and punch-you-in-the-mouth rock n' roll! The lead singer and guitarist is a swaggering rock n' roll force to be reckoned with… Twenty-Seven years into their career at this point, but most Americans don't know him or his amazing band. That is a travesty. Guess who's back??? Say his name and say it loud like it's a hit song… DANKO JONES!!!This episode is rooted in our Should Have Been category. Joe Matera is a rock journalist who has interviewed artists from all over the world covering the full spectrum of genres. His book Backstage Pass: The Grit and the Glamour takes the reader backstage and beyond to get behind the façade of the rock stars he's met.In this interview, Joe shares stories of his experiences interviewing Nickelback, Lemmy from Motörhead, The Shadows guitarist Hank Marvin, Ray Manzarek, Brian May, George Martin, Gene Simmons, and John Mayer. He recalls the time a member of Death Cab For Cutie blew off his interview, how he approaches asking musicians difficult questions, explains why the metal community is so misunderstood, and how to survive the wear and tear of touring. Most people would identify “Ace of Spades” as Motörhead's classic LP and they're not wrong. In fact, the band released six classics in a row starting with their self-titled 1977 debut but it's really “Overkill” that honed the sound that would unite Metalheads and Punks and influence thousands of bands from every possible subgenre. From Discharge to Metallica, extreme music would simply not sound the same without Lemmy, “Fast" Eddie Clarke and “Filthy” Phil (The Animal) Taylor and there's no more sonic proof than their sophomore LP. RIP Lemmy RIP Fast Eddie Clarke RIP Phil Taylor RIP Bob Nalbandian Recommended Listening: EP134: Motörhead Ace of Spades https://huntsmanhill.com/2020/08/17/ep134-motorhead-ace-of-spades-soundtrack-to-the-apocalypse-vol-20/ Another Perfect Day https://open.spotify.com/album/4N2sRhYs4t7bZTqoiggDRC?si=qbzwDNxhRhqoRbZgHWbpSw 1916 https://open.spotify.com/album/6mvrfjdgSvwcDXhxyVjWTx?si=vfuZ66qxR2uE7Dh87Lnkkg Inferno https://open.spotify.com/album/7jGmwdQeJQ7kZ8LN7uN4lD?si=MYiVfk_cTSCSQwk7t5xKwA Doom Regulator https://open.spotify.com/artist/5KIqdI4DIdPdiS5JVWQVxj?si=xRbQQKHFRrW9_yngMMp-mA Requiem Metal Podcast https://open.spotify.com/show/2V20sO3i7d2E763sdnxF3G?si=4812c8eb8abe4254 Contact us at: huntsmanhillpodcast@gmail.com Spotify Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/user/1298220429/playlist/4gy1wWwypkoFS2lUztvZ44?si=waSq07DBQlq3x9G1_nK0pg HHPP Amazon Affiliates Store https://huntsmanhill.com/2022/06/09/hhpp-store/ Our Music manhuntsman: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7tFBWn0UFkdOEMf67TRD6W?si=vzllkbDwSEmfZFlj02GLRw Academy O.C: https://academyoc.bandcamp.com/album/academy-o-c Omertà 68: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6dfiCa0qTlbPQUrqtIkStS?si=6SCjNtXbSO2xRBDuBKJelQ huntsmanhill.com instagram.com/huntsmanhill https://twitter.com/HuntsmanHill
