If you have watched a Corn Nation video in the past couple of years, chances are you have heard the name Fred Sacco. Fred joins Minnie on Monday Night Therapy to talk about his experience growing up and living in Nebraska. As a Nebraska alum during the birth of the Golden Era in Nebraska Football he will share how electrifying plays by Tommie Frazier led the Cornhuskers to back-to-back national championships in the ‘90's, with the legendary Tom Osborne as head coach. As the dynasty continued with Eric Crouch in the 2000's, he led Nebraska to another championship appearance and was awarded the Heisman Trophy in 2001. Crouch's impact on the program solidified Nebraska's place as a national power. The years after Crouch saw a succession of head coaches and quarterbacks. While success was mixed, the program continued to find ways to win. From head coaches Bo Pellini to Mike Riley, Nebraska fans needed a change, with the return of the ‘95-'97 champion QB Scott Frost who fans dubbed ‘Golden Boy' to begin a new chapter as head coach. The high hopes they had for Nebraska to return to national prominence were met with inconsistencies at the play caller position with Adrian Martinez. Despite the ups and downs, Frost attracted top recruits back to the program. After HCSF, Matt Rhule, a coach known for his program-building success, takes the reins in Lincoln. Rhules arrival signaled a fresh start and a renewed focus on building a winning culture. However as the landscape of college football is ever changing, Rhule has had to learn and adjust quickly. The first big key towards winning football came in the shape of 5 star recruit Dylan Raiola, Nebraska's quarterback. Dylan has had a full season to learn to navigate the more competitive nature and the high demands of playing at the college level. Will Nebraska football be great again? After Tyson Terry, 4 star DT 2025 football recruit won his 4th straight Nebraska State Wrestling Title and finished his high school career with an undefeated record, it just might be that players with that ultra competitive spirit are exactly what this team needs to give us the edge. Also, Nebraska wrestling will have finished their regular season on Sunday the 23rd as they go into West Lafayette ranked #5 in the NCAA. We will discuss the final dual against Purdue and what the B1G Wrestling Championship in Evanston, Illinois will look like.
ESPN ranked the Top 100 College Football QBs of the 2000s and the network seemed to lowball the Heisman Trophy winner. We also get into who Ndamukong Suh thought was left off the greatest players list, and who might be QB2.
We finally had a show on Monday night that's supposed to be a Monday night show for the first time in well before Christmas that Todd and I were last together. We talked about a number of different subjects. We discussed the men's and women's basketball teams and their standings in the Big Ten. Nebraska men's basketball is currently tied for fifth while the women's basketball team is in fourth place in conference. We had a discussion about wrestling and how Nash Hutmacher is extremely agile for as big as he is as a heavyweight and as a huge guy. Todd talked for a bit about multi-sport athletes and why it's a good thing. Someone asked our opinion on whether or not Kaelin DeBoer would be successful at Alabama. We discussed where people would rank Nebraska quarterbacks since Eric Crouch and there were a number of them. People had a lot of different opinions on the matter. We discussed Caitlin Clark's latest run in with a fan on the floor at the Ohio State game. People discussed the fact that Caitlin is both an exceptional basketball player and a good flopper. I pointed out that she's not our player so it's perfectly well and good that we make fun of her and tear them down when they lose. I will be jumping in a frozen lake or a cold lake this Saturday and I hope that you can contribute to my donation so I can raise $500 to give to the Minnesota Special Olympics. SEE BELOW! Also, if you're looking for history videos, this offseason I will be doing a lot more with my Hardcore College Football History channel. We'll still be having live shows and I'll still be doing some videos on the Corn Nation channel, but my focus will be on history for most of the offseason.

Hello everyone! Today I am honored to share with you part 2 of my discussion with Eric Crouch (if you missed part 1, click here.) Part 2 is all about doing what's right vs being right. Meaning, we should all be more concerned with doing the best work for our students, so they can do their best work. Throughout the episode, we really hit on how Eric runs his classroom workshop, his view on his role as the teacher, and how it all comes together to create the magic of learning. Eric Crouch is a national award-winning educator from Columbus, Ga. Eric is also Harvard PZ Fellow, a Lowell Milken Center Fellow and currently serves on both the State Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory and the Governor’s Teacher Advisory Council for the state of Georgia. His work with project-based learning is well known throughout the education community, and that’s exactly what he shares with us in this podcast episode. Enjoy! Don’t forget to subscribe and review the show on iTunes! ________________________________________________ Eric’s work with charities, Teach Your Heart Out, and most importantly, with his own students, is phenomenal to say the least. And yet, he is in need of our help! Eric was hosting at PepTalk with Mr D And Gerry Brooks. He brought his camera to help take photos of the event. He laid his camera down on the sound table in a secure area with two security guards watching the table. Later, it was gone, and they saw nothing... Long story short, Eric is trying to raise money to get his camera back. He uses the camera many afternoons to take family photos or do some real estate photos to make ends meet financially, and this is a huge loss for him. If you'd like to help him out, please go here and do so.

Fun fact about Eric Crouch... He actually took the picture we use for our cover photo on the podcast! We were so grateful to catch up with Eric for the second time on our podcast to talk with him about how Wilkie can create a global learning aspect of his classroom and well as what's in store for the Teach Your Heart Out Conferences in 2019 that will be coming to Atlanta in March, a cruise to The Bahamas in June and San Antonio in October. We also had a chance to talk about The Pep Talk Series launched by the folks at The Wright Stuff Chics and how we can work to get more men into the profession! Eric truly is a mentor and inspiration to us as he has been so willing to share his advice with us, listen to our big ideas, and show genuine love for us. Eric we are deeply grateful for that and we hope you enjoy this episode of the podcast! We were so lucky to have the opportunity to talk with Eric Crouch who we're so excited to meet this week at Teach Your Heart Out Las Vegas! As Eric said it was so fun to get to talk shop with one of the most dynamic educators we've met. During our conversation Eric talks about the pillars of his teaching-- collaborate, communicate, critically think. He uses these as the basis for most everything he does in the classroom and finds that they increase the student buy in. If you don't follow Eric on social media you should because not only is it funny and insightful, but much of what he puts out is made by students in his film editing club. Eric talks about "the vulnerability of video" and how he believes video is an asset that, "allow bulletin boards to come down and be replaced by windows." Eric strives with his students to give the choice and stake in the success of the classroom and it is something we can all benefit from learning more about. We hope you enjoy this episode of the podcast and thank you so much for tuning in!
