On June 8th, 1989 the body of Cindy James was discovered in Richmond, BC. She was laying on her side, with her ankles and wrists fastened behind her & had a nylon stocking tied tightly around her neck. The cause of death however, would be overdose. Almost immediately, news networks would be sharing details of a nearly decade-long horror story of a woman, hunted down and scared for her life. By the time Cindy James went missing, she had reported over 100 incidents of stalking, harassment and assaults from an unknown assailant. But by July 12th the RCMP would officially rule out any foul play leaving the public to wonder how could a person do something to themselves like that and why would they? The investigation of her death would lead to one the longest and most expensive inquests in British Columbia's history. It would be ruled inconclusive, with her family believing she was killed and the police believing it was an elaborately staged suicide. While the cause of her death would remain inconclusive, one thing remained certain: nobody agreed that ruling made any sense. Reports on underside lights can vary with one type having a light at each corner and a larger middle one. The other type reported tends to have five or seven lights in a V shape along two of the sides. I've had a heavy heart as of late during this U.S. Presidential election. I wanted to take some time to share my plea to the leaders in the creative arts community.Last week we had a special post-election "Breaking the Glass" bonus produced and largely recorded by breaking the glass co-producer Yolanda T. Cochran. The episode was bittersweet in that it was written and recorded before the election results, so there was a certain sense of hopefulness in Yolanda’s voice that we were on the verge of having our first woman president. So I recorded an epilogue to her episode to provide context. I also used that epilogue to address what I’ve seen going on in the photography and filmmaking communities. [Take your pick: Calvinists, Arminians, open theists, unitarians, trinitarians, Roman Catholics, Protestants, cultists, JWs, Mormons, universalists, exclusivists inclusivists, pluralists, Barthians, presuppositionalists, apologists, Muslims, Jews, atheists, liberals, evangelicals, fundamentalists, Emergent types, conservatives, Obama supporters, people who don't hate George W. Bush, Democrats, Republicans, homosexuals, homophobes, feminists, egalitarians, complementarians, sexists, creationists, evolutionists.] Can you believe those people? How blind, how stupid, how ridiculous can they be? What business do they even have discussing such sacred things? They need a good verbal whipping. I'll tell them how wicked, how worthless, how stupid, how conniving, how sneaky, how damned they are. If I weren't such an upstanding Christian man, I'd tell them what a bunch of worthless ******* they are. But, I won't - that wouldn't be Christlike. Instead, I'll bulldoze them with a surging mass of biblical texts and/or obviously crushing arguments, which will show up their stupidity for all to see. Bodies will fly left and right; I am a speeding train of Truth. If they flinch, I'll inform that that what I'm giving them is nothing compared to what God will give them. Get on the train, or get out of the way. Go ahead and whine - I couldn't care less, you wicked, worthless scumbags. I'm an agent of God's wrath. I only whip the right (wrong) people, so He appreciates my faithful whipping service. It is all for Him. Right? Well, let us hear God's word, and scrupulously obey it, whether among our own, or arguing with heretics, misguided Christians, unbelievers, members of other religions, or cult members. First, a brush-up on some basics, by Lady Wisdom, voice of the ancient Jewish sages. Then, the apostles James and Peter. Finally, the Lord Jesus himself lays down his standard, in no uncertain terms. It is to him that we'll have to give an answer. This wisdom is sufficient to cure the proverbial odium theologicum. If you suffer from this affliction, I recommend repeated listens. This is, in every way, a better way. It is a pearl of great price. I have, in one case, tampered with the text... can you tell which?
