While Cody doesn't know the characters in DC, he chooses DC Animated Series to get acquainted with the characters. Shannon, on the other hand, shares a juicy scoop! She talks about Framing Britney and discusses how she was portrayed by the media and the downfall of her career after how society did not treat Britney right! Tune in to this episode for the top content picks of We Watch It Crew for this week!
For this episode we talk about two documentaries that deal with similar topics: "Framing Britney Spears" and "This Is Paris." "Framing Britney Spears" follows the Free Britney movement, which is dedicated to releasing the pop star from a conservatorship where her father controls all of her finances and medical decisions. "This Is Paris" focuses on another millennial celebrity: Paris Hilton. The documentary delves into her childhood experiences at boarding schools where she alleges that she was physically and emotionally abused. Our youth film critics got together on Zoom to talk about the movies, including how celebrity culture has changed since the early 2000's, and the ways that society addresses mental health issues among youth in America. Moderated by Sam Bernitz. Hosted by Grady Cutchins. Music by Kendrick Whiteman. Alaska Teen Media Institute is based in Anchorage, Alaska. We would like to acknowledge the Dena'ina people, whose land we work on. Many thanks to supporters of our podcast including Rosey Robards and Della Cutchins. Today we're speaking with Geoff O'Brien and Pierre Takal who were nominated for a primetime Emmy for outstanding picture editing for a non-fiction program for the New York Times Presents documentary Framing Britney Spears. Geoff's career has spanned more than 20 years; last year, he won an Emmy for news and documentary for his work on the series, the weekly. He also cut three other documentaries in the New York Times Present series as well as shows for Frontline, VH1, and Showtime. Pierre won not one, not two, but three Emmys for news and documentary programs last year and, showing some range, was nominated for a Golden Reel Award for Motion Picture Sound Editors and has been nominated for Emmys going back 20 years. He's also cut three other documentaries in the New York Times Presents series. He edited Supersize Me 2, the sequel to the blockbuster documentary, and he's cut for Frontline, so we're talking with two guys with some serious doc chops. Thanks to Frame.io for their support of Art of the Cut and their pledge to keep this content coming your way. We kick off the show discussing why Joel is dressed like a Gold Logie for today's show, then get stuck into unorthodox argument styles. We learn that Tim loooooves giving the silent treatment. We cover off Brooke Shields gym injury, then a food blogger who butchered a croissant (according to French fans, at least). Then it was a triple-lady-documentary Glossy, covering Britney Spears' response to the Framing Britney documentary, Bindi Irwin's latest doco and Amy Winehouse's mum makes an appearance on a BBC documentary to be released later this year. Then we hear from people who have been in coma's and what exactly they can remember. Kate and Joel face-off in the Whisper Challenge for a third time this year. Swimming in the stars

Στο ντοκιμαντέρ Framing Britney, οι New York Times παρουσιάζουν την ιστορία της Britney Spears όχι πλέον ως (απλώς) ενός ποπ ειδώλου, αλλά ως μιας γυναίκας σε αναζήτηση ελέγχου του εαυτού της. Ενώ στην ταινία του Netflix, I Care a Lot, η αντι-ηρωίδα της Rosamund Pike εκμεταλλεύεται ανθρώπους παίρνοντας τον έλεγχο της ζωής και της περιουσίας τους.Στο νέο επεισόδιο του POP για τις Δύσκολες Ώρες, η Ιωσηφίνα Γριβέα και ο Θοδωρής Δημητρόπουλος βουτάνε βαθιά στην προσωπική ιστορία της Britney Spears, από το ξεκίνημά της ως τη σχέση της με τον Justin Timberlake, από το meltdown στο comeback, κι από τις ζωντανές εμφανίσεις μέχρι το όλο και πιο ισχυρό κίνημα #Free Britney.Γιατί o Justin Timberlake είναι αναμφίβολα ο villain; Σε ποιο τραγούδι που δεν κυκλοφόρησε ποτέ έκρυψε η Britney την αλήθεια για την πιο κρίσιμη περίοδο της ζωής της; Ποιος ο ρόλος της τοξικότητας των ταμπλόιντ και των media στην πτώση της Britney; Πώς ορίζουμε τον έλεγχο και την ελευθερία; (Ναι, πάμε βαθιά!) Τι ακριβώς είναι το κίνημα #FreeBritney και γιατί παίρνει τώρα όλο και μεγαλύτερη δημοσιότητα; Και τελικά, γιατί πάνω απ'όλα αναφωνούμε “It's Britney, bitch”;
It's just Al and Kels shootin' the sh*t. We vent and talk about the shame associated with dieting and/or eating healthy while also touching on the topic of self-care again. Then we chat about unwanted opinions from others and people being bossy or bullying. Yes, sexual harassment and verbal abuse in the workplace are real. We wrap up our episode with our thoughts about the Framing Britney documentary and how our consumer-based society and media influence the way celebrities act, eat, live and sleep - especially when it comes to provocative topics because as you should know, sex sells.

It's Super Bowl time which means (to us) a halftime show of high spectacle and lots of pyrotechnics. How did The Weeknd stack up against the legacy of roof jumps and left sharks? A New York Times doco on Britney Spears' conservatorship has everyone talking, and us reflecting on our own judgements as we watched her rise and fall. An English parish meeting on Zoom has gone viral for all the right reasons, while Grand Slam tennis is providing the fashun hit we need.
