They emphasized the need for emotional and intellectual distance to solve the right problems, and for a simple method that can be applied by anyone. Jonathan also highlights the importance of understanding personal journeys and pain points to address complex problems, while Thomas emphasizes the need to recognize and reframe one's own biases and assumptions. As the episode winds down, you'll hear Jonathan and Thomas discuss a few personal topics, including the challenges of maintaining the purity of advisory work while balancing personal interests and client needs. Thomas Wedell-Wedellsborg is a globally recognized expert in innovation and problem-solving. He authored "Innovation as Usual" (2013) and "What's Your Problem?" (2020), both published by Harvard Business Press. His work focuses on practical approaches to drive innovation and solve complex problems within organizations. Wedell-Wedellsborg's expertise has been sought by numerous high-profile clients, including Microsoft, Cisco, Citigroup, and the United Nations. He is particularly known for his "reframing" method, which helps individuals and organizations approach problems more effectively by changing how they define and understand them. He has been featured in various publications and recognized as a top thinker in his field by institutions like Thinkers50 and HR Magazine. Fallout 76 has had its fair share of ups and downs and finally we have an update that may redeem the title in 2020. Wastelanders is here and with it comes a new NPC-based storyline. There is voice acting, actual human players and more. Does it bring enough to bring us back into the game or does it leave us wanting more? It's set in the 9th century where you play as a viking as they make their way into England. We also talk about Google Stadia's Connect event and the new release date for The Last of Us Part 2.In our discussion, we explore the idea of Disney + working as a gaming platform. I'm Chris Hogan, Founder and CEO of MeMedia. It's time to get fact up. This Monday, we'll be bringing you the latest and greatest news from Google. But before we get started, we just wanted to let you know that because MeMedia are Google partners on the fourth of May we will be hosting a Google live event, streaming from the Google headquarters in Sydney. We'd love to have you here at our auditorium in Burleigh Heads. It's a free event. Come along, learn, have a laugh, and maybe a few nibbles. You can check out the link to the event in our blog. Now let's get into the news from Google. In the past month, Google has made some updates to the search engine results pages. You may have noticed that the right-hand side ads have all but disappeared. Never fear, we're still here. Google, themselves, have tested the removal of the ads from the right-hand side of the search engine results pages extensively. And they have found that the effect is minimal. But, "What's the truth?" you ask. Well, let's dive right in and have a look. If your ads are performing well in your field or you aren't bidding high for competition keywords, you're probably not in a bad place right now without these side ads. If you're already ranking highly, you'll likely see a boost in click-through rate, and a lower cost per click, as more of your ads get that prime real estate at the top of the page results. If you're involved in e-commerce and use Google's shopping ads, this is also good news for you. The increased space will allow you to compete where previously you would not have been shown. So we recommend, if you aren't using Google's shopping campaigns, now may be a good time to start considering them. This all sounds great, but if you had an advertising campaign with Google running, and you're appearing in position four or five, then it might be time to take another look at your AdWords campaign, and make sure that you are getting the position and click-through rate you're aiming for. Google have also announced that as well as this front-end change to the advertising display, they're also improving the look of Google AdWords management. You may be wondering if there is any functionality changes going to occur to the AdWords management platform, and Google have announced that there won't be, which is great news for users. So what are they updating? Well to be honest, it hasn't had a facelift since 2008, so it's gonna look a little bit prettier. Does that look better? I look different, but I work just the same. So let's have a closer look at the new interface design. Our views will be available at campaign, ad group, and ad levels. These show a convenient display of performance, which is much like a more readable version of the account level home screen in AdWords now. There's also a top ad groups snapshot, as well as graphical view of performance shown split across different devices. You'll also notice in the redesign that all the secondary navigation runs along the left side, parallel to the primary navigation. Options such as locations, site links, and devices, are shown there, instead of being hard to find under settings. Google are set to have the redesign done by end of 2017. So between now and then, they'll be implementing some beta testing and we hope we get selected to have a go. So let's have a little look back at the search engine results pages, and what that means for all results, paid and organic. Paid is obviously getting a lot of focus now, with up to four positions present, and product listing ads visible at the very top of page. Organic rankings are being pushed down slightly, and they could feel the pinch, especially for high-commercial terms. So of course, you may have to further consider AdWords in your marketing budget. We just wanted to keep it short this week, and remind you that we will have a Google Connect event happening here, on the fourth of May, right here in Burleigh Heads. Come along, it's free. We'd love you to join in. RSVPs are via the link in this blog. Thanks for listening, Australia. Wake up. It's Monday.

My conversation with Meg Casebolt is chock full of wisdom for small business owners . We chat about SEO for small businesses; Meg shares the two kinds of SEO you want to consider, and lays out exactly when to start with it, depending on the type of business (product vs service) and where you operate (online vs local).  She calls out the SEO industry for making simple things way too complicated, and encourages business owners to start thinking about it as easy.  But wait, there’s more! (Haha). Then we dive into branding, and Meg shares how she chose her niche and created a magnetic brand.  We also talking about finding your ideal business model, which is something that so many business owners really struggle with (meaning, they spend too long trying to force themselves into a box instead of aligning their business with who they are). Finding the right business model is something I help business owners with, so I am ALL ABOUT this convo. Enjoy! Michael Blank believes in the law of the first deal. Once your first deal is done, the second and third come easily. On this episode of Capital Gains, he explains why multi-family properties are like an ATM machine. It doesn’t matter how much you earn or how much you have in the bank, the key to being financially free is to generate a large passive income. Michael talks about how to achieve this, and how he is coaching others to as well. When he was in his mid-30s and working in the software industry, he read Rich Dad Poor Dad and it shifted his entire mindset. He threw away his career and started focusing on earning a passive income from real estate. Michael began by flipping houses, but his big idea was restaurant franchises. His idea was to plow his net worth into restaurants, but it didn’t go well. He lost 95% of his net worth, and describes that time as a “very painful process”. He calculated that he would need 50 houses to make a great passive income. That was too many transactions. Michael reevaluated his strategy and started focusing on multi-family, and made his first deal in 2011. After my last Google+ episode I heard from a lot of you who said Google+ is just so different from Facebook and you can't understand it. Today I'm taking that on. I'm sharing 3 ways Google+ and Facebook are similar and 3 ways they're different. The other point I want to make before you listen to today's episode is that you don't need to abandon Facebook. Your social media egss need to be in lots of network baskets. Engage in multiple places. Even though my organic views and engagement have gone down on Facebook, also I'm not dropping as many ad dollars as I did previously. It's still the number 3 traffic driver to my website. Google+ just gives us another option that we should be using to share our content and engage with our communities.
